NOTE: A patch on March 25, 2015, added a work-around to obtain items from Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, and Terror:

In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule.

    Quick Guide/Checklist
Note: Some quest steps can be skipped through clever use of invisibility/feign death. For the purposes of this guide we are assuming players will be doing this epic the intended way, extra hails not included.

The quests for Darkforge Helm, Darkforge Greaves , and Darkforge Breastplate will need to be done prior to doing this epic. These quests can be done pre-Kunark.

    The Ungrateful Thief

Kurron Ni appears in the Overthere outpost.

    You say, 'Hail, Kurron Ni'

Kurron Ni says 'Out of my way, stranger, I am on a delicate mission. Interfere with my search and I shall relieve you of your head! Bother me no more.

You say, 'What do you seek?'

Kurron Ni says 'I have traveled here in hopes of finding a soul worthy of assisting me in completing my mission.

    You say, 'I am worthy'

Kurron Ni says 'I doubt it, but I have been wrong before. Before I share with you the details of my mission, however, you must first prove your worthiness. Agreed?

    You say, 'Agreed'

Kurron Ni says 'Very well then, my new friend. I have an acquaintance that stands in need of three pieces of Darkforge Armor. He requires the breast, greaves and helm to complete his set. I also must pay back a loan that has come due in the amount of 900 platinum. Return this to me and I shall share with you my dark mission, and the immeasurable reward that will be earned at its completion. Show your face here without fulfilling my request and I will offer you on the altar to Innoruuk himself. Be off!

  • After a hard task of acquiring the requested Darkforge items and 900 platinum pieces, come back to the Overthere. Hand the Darkforge Breastplate, Darkforge Greaves, Darkforge Helm, and 900 platinum all at the same time to Kurron Ni.

  • Kurron Ni says 'Well done, {your name} , I honestly didn't expect to see you again. Yes, yes, this is perfect! My mission is nearly complete!
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit got better.

Kurron Ni looks your way apprehensively -- he appears to be quite formidable.

    You say, 'What mission?'

Kurron Ni says 'My mission was to find a pathetic shadowknight and bring him closer to Innoruuk. You volunteered. By exercising my superior powers of persuasion, I have now taken from you a fine suit of armor and enough coin to ensure that I will be sleeping neither soberly nor alone for quite some time! Now I ask you, worthy shadowknight, do you not feel the fires of hatred coursing through your veins like never before? That is the very reward I spoke of! You have been brought closer to my master. My mission is complete! You foolish excuse for a dark knight, I shall take your head and tell all of your generous donation to the mighty Teir'Dal rogues!

Kurron Ni punches YOU for 200 points of damage.

Kurron Ni glares at you threateningly -- he appears to be quite formidable.
    ...

    You gain party experience!!

Duriek, I have searched this godless pit for what seems to be an eternity with nothing to show for my efforts. I pray to Innoruuk that you have made some breakthrough in your research. Please update me as to your progress. In the meanwhile I have run into some unexpected expenses and will need some funds to carry on. An additional ten thousand should suffice. Regards, Karnett

    The New Apprentice

Duriek Bloodpool can be found in Paineel. Hand him the Letter to Duriek you have... found.

Duriek Bloodpool says 'Yes, most unfortunate. I was informed last week of the death of my most recent apprentice. A few months ago, I paid a substantial sum to a group of rogues sent from Neriak to collect on a gambling debt. He swore to me that was the end of it, but I suspected otherwise. My warnings of gambling with the rogues fell on deaf ears.'

    You gain experience!!
Duriek Bloodpool looks your way apprehensively -- he appears to be quite formidable.

Despite what Duriek tells you, you receive neither item nor money.

    You say, 'What apprentice?'

Duriek Bloodpool says 'As stubborn and foolish as he sometimes was, he was full of potential. Had he managed to achieve my age he doubtless would have surpassed my abilities. Though I am not surprised at his passing, he will be sorely missed. Well, I thank you for your efforts. Feel free to meet me in the tavern for a drink sometime. I must now get to the task of replacing my associate.

You say, 'I will replace him'

Duriek Bloodpool says 'Hmm, you seem a bit green and I hesitate to trust you with such an important work, but time is of the essence as my days in this world are running out. Bring me back a bottle of cough elixir and, if you are still interested, I will instruct you further.

Head to Neriak Foreign Quarter. Find Smaka.

    You say, 'hail Smaka'

Smaka says 'You want stuff? Or mebby you looks for a cure?

You say, 'I need a bottle of cough elixir'

Smaka says 'Ahh, you want me cure?! It cost lots of money, big big secret it is. Only us ogres know how to make. You wants? Only 1000 platinum! Make you feels bedder in no times!

    Hand 1000 platinum to Smaka.

Smaka says 'Okay, enjoy me drink!

Head back to Paineel. Hand the Cough Elixir to Duriek.

Duriek Bloodpool says 'Thank you. Now, quickly, there is not much time for me. What I tell you here now must never be shared with another soul. I have spent the better part of my life piecing together clues for the creation of a legendary dark blade, a corrupted Ghoulbane. I am very close to understanding the method used in manipulating the enchantments of the Ghoulbane, but in my current condition, I cannot finish collecting the research. My previous apprentice was searching for this last clue when he met his untimely demise.'
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.

Duriek Bloodpool looks your way apprehensively -- he appears to be quite formidable.

You say, 'where was he searching?'

Duriek Bloodpool says 'I possess a key that will open a sealed tome to be found somewhere in the ruins uncovered here not long ago. Recover that tome for me and I am certain I will be able to corrupt the Ghoulbane. My name will be etched in history and you will wield a legend! You must hurry now, and I must return to my studies. Do not return to me, {your name} , without the tome.

    More Work

Head to the Hole and find a ratman guard. They patrol the jail area together with ratman warriors.

Duriek Bloodpool gasps at you in astonishment, eyes beaming with pride and says, 'You've found it! It seems I underestimated you. You have succeeded where others failed. I feared it would never come to pass.' Duriek takes the key from his neck, softly muttering some words, and places it in a previously unseen keyhole. The book's hinges creak as Duriek pulls it open. After reading for a few moments, he says, 'It is even better than I had hoped! It will take me weeks to uncover a portion of what this book has to offer. But this is what I have been searching for, so many years! At last I know the items required to corrupt that accursed blade!'

Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.
Duriek Bloodpool looks your way apprehensively -- he appears to be quite formidable.

    You say, 'what items?'

Duriek Bloodpool says 'I will need the Ghoulbane, the Soul Leech, the Blade of Abrogation, and the Decrepit Sheath. Alas, I am far too ill to travel and collect these pieces. I must call upon your youth and ability again, {your name} . Return to me with these items and I shall be known throughout history as the greatest grave lord to have walked Norrath and you shall be among the most powerful in our art.

    The Corruption

The Ghoulbane is in possession of the froglok shin lord in the Ruins of Upper Guk. (It also drops from Joren Nobleheart, a Paladin in Southern Felwithe, if you can handle the Level 60 fight.)

The Soul Leech, Dark Sword of Blood is in possession of the God of Fear, Cazic-Thule, in the Plane of Fear.

The Blade of Abrogation is at times carried by monsters in the Plane of Sky.

The Decrepit Sheath is fashioned by Teydar. He is located in the Qeynos Aqueduct System.

Teydar looks your way apprehensively -- looks like he would wipe the floor with you!

    You say, 'hail Teydar'

Teydar says 'Hello {your name} , It's good to see another shadowknight. I'm Teydar, I've made it my life to fashion suitable scabbard and sheaths for our order.

You say, 'Can you fashion a decrepit sheath?'

Teydar says 'The object you desire is very difficult to fashion, nearly impossible, really. All I can offer to do is try. The real difficulty is the contents that give the sheath its power. They have to be of an almost equal evil. I think some kind of decrepit hide, a drake spine along with a bar of enchanted platinum should prove enough to make this item.

Drake Spine can be taken from a drake named Rharzar in Rathe Mountains.

Rharzar scowls at you, ready to attack -- it appears to be quite formidable.

Rharzar hits YOU for 288 points of damage.

    ...
You have slain an ashenbone drake!
    You gain party experience!!

Hand the Drake Spine, the Decrepit Hide, and the enchanted platinum bar to Teydar.

Teydar says 'I did it! The pieces you got me were perfect! It took a huge effort on my part to craft this, of course. it saddens me that I'm unable to keep one of my best works. A deal is a deal. There is honor among shadowknights.

Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 5.

Teydar looks your way apprehensively -- looks like he would wipe the floor with you!

    You get a Decrepit Sheath.

Head back to Duriek and give him the Ghoulbane, the Soul Leech, Dark Sword of Blood, the Blade of Abrogation, and the Decrepit Sheath.

Duriek Bloodpool takes the Ghoulbane and places the other swords on either side of it. The sheath begins to gleam so intensely, you can see the bones inside Duriek's hands. After several minutes, there is a final, blinding flash. Duriek collapses to the ground. After a few moments, Duriek motions you closer and whispers, 'You have done well. I wish fate had been kinder to me and allowed me your aid years ago, I might have lived long enough to enjoy the fame our combined efforts. I studied much of the tome you retrieved and have stumbled upon something that may be the key to unleashing darkness upon the face of Norrath forever. You must seek out a powerful lich by the name of Lhranc. Farewell, {your name}.' With his last bit of energy, Duriek places the corrupted Ghoulbane in your hands.

    The Cursed Being

Lhranc is a ghost in the City of Mist.

    You say, 'hail Lhranc'

Lhranc says 'Ahh, finally! He has sent you. No time to waste now, you must help me lift the curse at once!

    You say, 'What curse?'

Lhranc says 'Can you not see my condition! I have been unjustly sentenced to an eternity in this wretched form you see before you, never to leave these walls. In exchange for the cure for this curse, I swear to show you a secret that would make you the most powerful of your kind.

You say, 'What is the cure?'

Lhranc says 'I require only four things of you, dark one, and one of them you hold now. Bring me the heart of an innocent, the head of the valiant, and the will of Innoruuk. With these, my curse shall be lifted at last and I will craft a weapon that will cast a shadow over all of Norrath. "one of them you hold" refers to the Corrupted Ghoulbane.

    The Ritual

In Toxxulia Forest near the dock you may find Knarthenne Skurl, at -5, +1145.

    You say, 'hail Knarthenne Skurl'

Knarthenne Skurl says 'Ah, you do not possess the heart of an innocent. Be gone with you!

You say, 'what heart of an innocent?'

Knarthenne Skurl says 'What's that? Heart of the Innocent, you say?! Ages, it has been, since I was last asked that. The Heart of the Innocent is an item of great power. Few are they who have ever commanded the dark magic of such an object. It is the bound soul of a pure mortal, rare indeed. Take this hollow gem, and combine with it the heart of one who is pure. If your hand is steady and your mind is clear, you shall have what you seek. You get a Soulcase.

Marl Kastane may be found in Toxxulia Forest at +115, +2135.

    You say, 'hail Marl Kastane'

Marl Kastane says 'Begone!! You do not have the will to do the things I require!

You say, 'I have the will of Innoruuk'

Marl Kastane says 'You speak of a myth, friend. Such an object does not exist in this age and the secret of its creation lies locked in my mind, where it shall stay. It has been passed down through generations in my line, not to be revealed to a soul until the prophecy has come to pass.

    You say, 'What prophecy?'

Marl Kastane says 'My apologies, {Your name} , I have said too much already. Instead, I have an errand to occupy your thoughts. Take this as proof that you are sent from me and find my brother in Paineel. I haven't spoken with him in some time now and his well being is essential to our family's destiny.

You get a Seal of Kastane.

In Paineel, past the elevator, you may find Gerot Kastane. Hand the Seal of Kastane to Gerot Kastane.
Gerot Kastane says 'At last! I have been waiting for my brother for weeks! We are doomed! Innoruuk will taint our seed into some perverse, twisted, maddened breed. The prophecy has begun to unfold and there are none capable of stopping it. Quickly, return this note to Marl, we must hide! We have failed the master! We must escape the hateful one's wrath!

Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.

You get a Note to Marl.

    You say, 'Hail, Gerot Kastane'

Gerot Kastane says, '{Your name} ! My hero! I am at your service. I have been told to tell you all I know of the Head of the Valiant. Its construction is a mockery to the gods of Light, an abomination above all others. The method of creation of the Head of the Valiant was passed down through my family for centuries. All I require of you is the physical head of a valiant warrior. I have the rest of the materials right here to fashion this item for you.
Head to Kerra Isle and hand the "Note to Marl" to Marl Kastane.

Marl Kastane reads the note, eyes widening in panic. He raises his eyes to you and says, 'This is grave news, friend. If the prophecy is allowed to be fulfilled, our strength will vanish into obscurity. Goodness and purity will spread like a plague across the land and the servants of Hate will be powerless to stop it!'

Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.

    You say, 'What prophecy?'

Marl Kastane says 'I suppose it is time for the secret to be shared. Ages ago, two brothers were born. Glohnor was highly favored by the pompous Lightbringer, whose name we do not utter. Lhranc was chosen by the Prince of Hate to bring destruction and turmoil to the sons of men. The one thing they shared in common was their love of the fair priestess, Kyrenna. Kyrenna fell deeply in love with Glohnor. When Lhranc discovered this, he was overcome with rage and unwisely attacked his brother, who happened to be far more adept in combat. The fight cost Lhranc dearly. He lost his dignity as well as an eye in the struggle. He was ordered to leave Freeport and live his life in exile from the only home he had ever known.

You say, 'What became of Lhranc?'

Marl Kastane says 'Lhranc wandered the deserts of Ro for weeks, sinking deeper into depression and giving in to rage. Reports from the local merchants and caravans had him roaming the dunes muttering to himself incoherently. Eventually, he was forgotten, blending in with the hermits and madmen common to that region, forgotten by all save one.

You say, 'Who is the one?'

Marl Kastane says 'Innoruuk had not forsaken Lhranc. Once his rage and hate had matured and sufficiently altered his soul, the dark prince summoned him and gave him dominion over the demons that had enslaved his mind. He was given a weapon that made him powerful enough to slay any enemy that stood in his way. He was to become the first human to harness the power of the almighty shadowknight. After years of traveling and teaching mankind his newfound abilities, Lhranc sneaked back into Freeport through a series of sewers in search of revenge against his brother and in hopes of kidnapping Kyrenna, the source of his obsession. Waiting until Glohnor was alone, Lhranc sprang from the shadows and slew his brother. This was the act that brought about his curse.

    You say, 'What curse?'

Marl Kastane says 'As I said, Glohnor was highly favored by the Lightbringer. When the contemptible god of honor discovered what had been done, he transformed Lhranc into a deformed spectral knight and placed him in the ruined city. Lhranc then used what remained of his power to summon Kyrenna to his side and bind her there in a timeless, seamless sphere. He struggled for centuries to break her will and convince her to serve Innoruuk, certain that together they could remove his curse. But then, there was the prediction.

    You say, 'What prediction?'

Marl Kastane says 'The prophecy states that one day Kyrenna will escape the clutches of Lhranc and that she will resurrect Glohnor. Together, it reads, they will destroy Lhranc and undo all he has done. I trust that I do not need to tell you, {Your name} , that this would decimate our foothold in Norrath. When the prophecy was written, its words spread across the land. A dark council was held to construct a plan that would frustrate the words of the prophets. My ancestors were responsible for robbing Glohnor's tomb and securing his remains. For generations we have been charged with the duty of guarding those remains and the secret plan, should the corpse be discovered.

    You say, 'What secret plan?'

Marl Kastane says 'The plan is a last resort only to be tried if Kyrenna indeed escapes and the remains are discovered. Judging by my brother's words that time is now. It will take the most powerful hero all the courage and dedication he can muster to complete the ritual.

You say, 'I will complete the ritual'

Marl Kastane says 'It would seem we have no choice, and this is our only hope. I must first make a dark shroud. To do this I must stain it with the blood of an innocent. Go find me this rare blood so I can start the creating of the shroud.

In the Hole, in a jail cell, you may find Caradon.

    You say, 'hail Caradon'

Caradon says 'Please help me get out of here! My companion, Kyrenna, and I are trapped in this hellish place!

    You say, 'Who is Kyrenna?'

Caradon says 'I was with Kyrenna when she attempted to revive the corpse of Glohnor the Valiant. Like fools, we rushed into a trap. Now we sit here and await our deaths.'

    You say, 'Where is Kyrenna?'

Caradon says 'She is close by. For a price, I shall tell you. Bring me the key to my freedom and I will betray her, who sentenced me to this fate.'

In the city area of the Hole you can find "a chest," which sometimes drops a Cell Key.

Take the Cell Key to Caradon.
Caradon says 'Kyrenna! We are free!

The Lift of the Curse or Back to the Dead Head to City of Mist and hand the Corrupted Ghoulbane, the Heart of the Innocent, the Head of the Valiant, and the Will of Innoruuk to Lhranc.

Lhranc says 'Ahh, at last I can free myself of this prison! Centuries have passed since I enjoyed the fruits of mortality.' He hurls the components above his head where they remain suspended in midair. They hover in place while he chants the words of an ancient spell. As he speaks, the items begin to rotate around his head, slowly at first, then faster as the chanting grows louder, until it spins in a blur. Soon, the room is filled with a deafening shriek that pierces you to the core. Lhranc hurls a coin at you and laughs, 'Here is your reward fool.'

Your faction standing with True Spirit got better. (What is the actual faction hit here?) Receive Lhranc's Token.

    After a brief pause..

Lhranc says 'Young one, you cannot fathom how long it has been since I breathed air and felt flesh on my bones. I told you I would show you a weapon that would make you the most powerful of your kind. I said nothing of giving it to you. Feast your eyes on Innoruuk's Curse mortal, thank you for your service. At this point, if you are not satisfied with his answer, you better start using some force.

Auto attack on. Lhranc slashes YOU for 385 points of damage.
... You have slain Lhranc! You gain party experience!!

Lhranc - Level 60 shadowknight - Immune from any spells. Procs a direct damage spell.
Approximate forces required: three 50+ groups.

Upon killing Lhranc, Marl Kastane appears nearby.

Marl Kastane says 'Alas, I cannot be the one to carry the sword back to my people as proof in fear they will kill me to possess it for their own. I think a simple trade is in order, perhaps you have a symbol or token of Lhranc's that I could take back to the others to ease their worries?

Hand the Lhranc's Token to Marl Kastane.

Marl Kastane says 'Very good, I will go deliver this right away.'

    You receive the Innoruuk's Curse.

Your take a negative faction hit to Truespirit faction to 0 out the faction.

    March 30 2015 – Harbinger of Fear
So like many other SKs out there, I was one piece away from my 1.0 (Soul leech) and with the perma-camped golems I wasn't holding my breath to getting my epic anytime soon.
So DB puts a new mob, the Harbinger of Fear, into the Plane of Fear just for this purpose. I thought I’d give it a try.
Took my level 77 SK, decent gear, nothing near raid quality, 33k hps, 3.1k AC into Fear. Probably the hardest part of the entire fight was just finding the guy. He’s a Skelly and blends into the background colors really well. He walks around a bit in the NE corner, near the broken bell tower. NE of where Fright spawns. He wanders....very slowly. two steps and he stops....two steps..stops
Hailed the Harbinger, he asked if I was ready. I clicked the text link stating I was ready and Terror spawned. Not knowing what to expect I was ready for the worst. Harm Touched right away and had merc wiz on burn. I think I hit him maybe five times, he turned and finishing blow took him the rest of the way down. Looted my Soul Leech. Stupid simple. I have to think he's no more difficult then the normal version of Terror (never fought the normal version). No DT, he tried to tap me, but I resisted. I would think if you were lvl 65 and defiant geared, you'd beat it easily.
Did my two turn ins (Deadpool and Lhranc) As soon as Lhranc died, Marl Kastane spawned just outside the door to Lhranc’s room and that was it. Turned in the coin, got my 1.0.

Terror HT you? That's odd because he is the only Golem who does not HT...So the spawned version must be the same as Dread and Fright... while the normally spawned Dread does not have HT, or maybe you had mistaken the HT?

In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule.

That says to me that the items (duplicates?) that drop from that mob are non-tradeable and non-MQable. Problem is I tried to MQ a Soul Leech I looted awhile before that patch and it just gives it back to me. Won't respond to me either. I'm max-ally BUT I'm a rogue. Tried the turn in sneaking (Indifferent) same thing.

Anyone else tried MQ PoFear epic drops since patch came out and couldn't?

I tried yesterday, using 2 SKs, one who already has his 1.0, and the other working on it. The fist SK had a BoA, and my SK had everything else. We tried turning in the items, and Duriek ate them. I petitioned, but was actually able to gather all the items today, before the petition was answered, or worked on. I went to turn in the items, and he returned ALL of them to me, no script to say why. Thinking it was a bug with the Soul Leech I got from hailing the Harbinger of Fear, I had a friend turn in a normal Soul Leech, and I was going to turn in everything else. When the Soul Leech was turned in, suddenly he received the Corrupted Ghoulbane, andf Duriek despawned. Guess I'll have to wait and see if that fixed the bug.

Took the epic seeking SK to PoFear, found the "a Harbinger of Fear", hailed it, spawned "Terror", killed "Terror" and only thing on its corpse was the Soul Leech. I took a look at it and it has a lore tab thats says "Cannot be multi-quested".

Did an "/outputfile inventory" and the Soul Leech from the spawned "Terror" has a ID of 94976 where the Soul Leech from the regular golems has an ID of 11609, the latter being the one I tried to MQ. Duriek isn't up as he seemed to have a nasty accident on the end of a dagger from what I saw.

So off to Plane of Sky for the SoA and hopefully get the Corrupted Ghoulbane soon.

tl;dr - Original Soul Leech from regular Terror, Dread, and Fright and Soul Leech from Harbinger of Fear spawned Terror are different beasties.

Tried to MQ soul leech with my SK who had the other pieces. All pieces were eaten by Duriek. Petition system was down but judging from the current attitude shown by Daybreak on petitions I believe I'm likely screwed.

Sorry for the delay. Been sick.

On giving the Seal of Kastane to Gerot Kastane:
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.

On giving the Note to Marl to Marl Kastane:
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 3.

On giving Blood of Kyrenna to Marl Kastane:
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 5.

On giving the Head of Glohnor to Gerot Kastane:
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by 5.

I did not see any TrueSpirit faction hit upon giving the Corrupted Ghoulbane, the Heart of the Innocent, the Head of the Valiant, and the Will of Innoruuk to Lhranc. However, I invised before completing turn in, so that may have factored into not receiving a faction hit.

On giving Lhranc's Coin to Marl Kastane:
Your faction standing with TrueSpirit has been adjusted by -53.

I finished this quest following this guide and I ran into a couple of problems, one of them being killing the Mummy of Glohnor, after I turned the Dark Shroud to the Ghost of Glohnor there was no sign of the mummy, I panicked and ended up petitioning about me losing my progress. It turns out that the mummy randomly spawns somewhere in the hole, I read that some people have had it spawn right where the ghost and others have had it spawn all over the hole. In my case he spawned by a lake.

Another problem was Lhranc's new level, he is now 70, when I went to fight him I just had my level 51 SK and a 70 BST with a chumpy tank merc. He HT'd me for alot and had this DD that drained my health bar pretty quickly, luckly he was still up after I wiped.

Shadow Knight EPIC 1.0 Innorukk's Curse 2012 by Vcross

After several weeks of attempting the original Shadow Knight Epic 1.0 Quest, and not finding the necessary drops, I have come to the conclusion that the former Quest is no longer functional. Therefore I have officially completed the revised SK EPIC 1.0 QUEST along with any corrections to any posts prior to Friday 13th 2012.

Before Beginning, do the following to save more time.
    A. Purchase an Enchanted Platinum Bar from a Bazaar vendor. An Enchanter can also summon this item.
    B. Hunt in the The Warrens of Paineel to build Faction. This is very easy, but could take a couple hours to clear the zone. 3-4 times should do it.
    C. Acquire Bone Crafted Key from the guards at entrance to Paineel. With good faction, simply hail one of two guards, and they will gladly offer you a key.

    1) Toxxulia Forest:
    Hail Knarthenne Skurl
Say “What heart of an innocent”
    You receive “Soulcase”

    2) Ruins of Old Paineel: (The Hole)
There is a secret wall just behind the area near the sign that reads “Strong Box”
There you will find 3 mobs which are chests named Mimics.
Camp the Mimics until you receive a “Cell Key”.

    3) Paineel:
Locate Caradon and place the “Cell Key” in the trade window, and Invis before clicking on Trade.
Kyrenna will appear and both Caradon and Kyrenna will attack you until Kyrenna dies.
Loot “Blood of Kyrenna” and “Heart of Kyrenna”.

    4) Place the “Heart of Kyrenna” in the “Soulcase”
    Receive “Heart of the Innocent”.

    5) Kerra Isle: (Toxxulia Forest)
Locate Marl Kastane and place “Blood of Kyrenna” in trade and Invis before hitting trade.
    Receive “Dark Shroud”.
NOTE: Marl Kastane will disappear after the turning. Respawn time 36 hours.

    6) Ruins of Old Paineel (The Hole).
Locate Ghost of Glohnor. Use AA skill “Group Protected Invisibility to Undead”.
Place the “Dark Shroud” in trade window and Invis to Undead.
The Mummy of Glohnor will appear.
Once defeated loot the “Head of Glohnor” and “Glohnor wrappings”.

    7) Paineel:
Locate Gerot Kastane in the courtyard located at the bottom of the steps.
Place the “Head of Glohnor” in trade window and Invis.
Receive “Head of the Valiant”, which is an earring.

    8) Southern Felwithe: (Felwithe Castle in Faydark)
    Locate Joren Nobleheart
    Defeat and loot “Ghoulbane”.

    9) Plane of Sky
The Plane of Sky consists of several islands; the first can be accessed from a guild hall portal. Each island requires a key. The first key is a tiny sword, and may be purchased from the Key Master. Clear each island, loot just one of each of the plentiful items. It is NOT nessesary to engage “Overseer of Air”. Also avoid pulling mobs near Sirran, or he will attack you, and you need him alive.
Turn in the loot to Sirran the Lunatic.
Receive a Key to the next island.
Eventually reaching a mob, which will drop the “Blade of Abrogation”.
NOTE: To use keys, stand inside portal, and simply hold key in hand (mouse pointer) and left click on the portal wall.

    10) Plane of Fear:
Loot “Soul Leech - Dark Sword of Blood”, from either Cazic Thule, The Shade of Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, or Terror.
NOTE: This was the toughest part, as the entire zone will attack at once. Best to have a couple people, or pets, to tank and absorb the 50K plus Death Touch’s.

    11) Kerra Isle: (now merged with Toxxulia Forest)
Return to Marl Kastane and place the “Glohnor wrappings” in trade and an Invis.
    Receive “Will of Innoruuk”.

    12) Mountains of Rathe:
Just North of the Monument near the center of the map and attack all the Drakes in the area. Rharzar (Rharzar is a Green Drake) will eventually appear.
Defeat Rharzar and Loot the “Drake Spine”.

    13) Plane of Hate
Go to Plane of Hate and find “an ashenbone drake”, defeat and Loot a “Decrepit Hide”.
NOTE: Dropped off first drake, though I’ve heard sometimes it takes a while.

    14) Qeynos Catacombs:
Locate Teydar and place an “Enchanted Platinum Bar”, “Decrepit Hide”, and “Drake Spine” in a trade window, Invis and click on trade.
    Receive a “Decrepit Sheath”.

    15) Paineel:
Locate Duriek Bloodpool in the building overlooking the open field.
Place in a trade window the “Ghoulbane”, “Decrepit Sheath”, “Soul Leech - Dark Sword of Blood”, and “Blade of Abrogation”. Invis and click on trade.
    Receive “Corrupted Ghoulbane”.
NOTE: If Duriek Bloodpool is not present, it may be because of a recent turn in, in which case Duriek Bloodpool may not spawn again for 24 hours or more.

    16) City of Mist:
Locate Lhranc (ghost form) and place in a trade window the “Corrupted Ghoulbane”, “Heart of an Innocent”, “Head of the Valiant”, and “Will of Innoruuk”, and Invis before clicking on trade.
Receive Lhranc's Token. (Lhranc will change to Human form).
Attack and defeat Lhranc, and Marl Kastane will suddenly appear outside the door.
Place the “Lhranc's Token” in a trade window and an Invis.
    Receive “Innoruuk's Curse”.

I completed this quest in about 4 days. Completion time will vary depending on spawn times etc.

Thank you, I followed this guide and got my SK 1.0. The worst parts were waiting for Marl Kastane to respawn for step 11 and for Lhranc to spawn for the final step 16.

Note for step 3, Caradon is located in Ruins of Old Paineel (The Hole), not Paineel.

    Two things I did different,

    VehiCROS wrote:

I put off factioning for the key to Paineel for step 7 (Gerot Kastane in Paineel). Instead, someone else clicked the Paineel elevator for me. If you don't know anyone with a key, and if you have more than one account, you can make a new box character that starts with the Bone Crafted Key in their inventory: race Erudite, class Shadowknight, deity Cazic-Thule, change the starting city from Crescent Reach to Paineel, click off the Tutorial option, and you will spawn in the SK guild of Paineel which is not far from the elevator. Not sure if this is also an option with free accounts? The Bone Crafted Key has been added to your keyring. You now have an elevator operator.

Instead of using invis or invis to undead at every step to work around the Truespirit faction, I just bumped up my Truespirit faction at the start by doing the first step of the Shaman 1.0 epic: shroud to high level goblin rogue form, kill Peg Leg in Butcherblock to spawn a lesser spirit, sneak behind a lesser spirit to con indifferent, say "I wish to know more" to receive Tiny Gem, go to Bondl in W Freeport, sneak behind Bondl to con indfifferent, give him the Tiny Gem. This gives you +100 Truespirit faction and immediately takes you from apprehensively to indifferent. Do it two or three times if you want, it's so easy (subsequent Tiny Gems do not require sneaking). But just one time should be enough to give you all the Truespirit faction you need so that you do not have to worry about faction or invis cheats throughout the steps of the SK 1.0 epic.

Note that whatever your Truespirit faction is, on the final turn-in of Lhranc's Token to receive Innoruuk's Curse, your Truespirit faction will be reset back to default.

(Or if you do decide to use invis cheats and you are level 70+, you can use the hotkey for AA Cloak of Shadows to invis yourself, and also the hotkey for level 75 AA Group Perfected Invisibility to Undead, to ITU yourself.)

You cannot do 5 and 11 at the same time. In step 5, you get the Dark Shroud that you use to turn into the Ghost of Glohnor to get the mummy to spawn, The mummy drops the Glohnor Wrappings which is turned in for step 11

Confirmed, got my SK 1.0 at 2014/6/22(Sun), Bertoxx Server, by following this post,
One week has been spent, most on NPC "Marl Kastane" respawn (72 hours), camping item "Blade of Abrogation" @ PoAir, and camping item "Soul Leech - Dark Sword of Blood" @ PoFear.

    My three remarks below:
    1. No need faction work at all, by doing invis/ivu turn-in.
    2. These 2 steps can also be skipped if there's a rog/bard can unlock Paineel door for you.
    -----------------
    -----------------
    3. The final turn in @ City of Mist needs IVU instead of Invis, since Lhranc is in ghost form (undead).

Good luck on your Epic 1.0.

Attack and defeat Lhranc, and Marl Kastane will suddenly appear outside the door.

    Receive “Innoruuk's Curse”.

    Completed today on Tunare server.

Just a note, Lhranc being undead (pre-hand in), bring an Invis vs Undead potion with you. Invis kept me apprehensive, IvU brought me to indifferent. He was the toughest fight of the epic.

He paths at low health from his spawn location to around the north side of the "Goo House," so you may want to clear it of mobs just in case.

Having completed this quest on Vulak'Aerr server on Sunday 6th May 2012 I can confirm that this quest is fully functional and implemented on the TLP server and so I would imagine that they are also working on the live servers.

Ghost of Glohnor was a pain to spawn though!

For anyone going after the Soul Leech in PoF, if you are an SK, at least 70 with Harm Touch maxed for your level, and have someone to eat the first DT from the Golems, you can HT them and they will die before they can get DT off again. Have done it a few times now getting Soul Leech for guildies. This works far better than waiting for Fright to spawn, since he's perma camped for the AoN. Also, I'm told that Monks get a disc at 70 that allows them to totally resist the DT spell, so might see if you can get one to go along to bypass it that way also. I can't confirm the Monk disc, since my monk is only 62.

Just so we're not spreading around false info, it's Terror that spawns in the northernmost temple who does not Cazic Touch. If you look at your map, it's labeled incorrectly. I killed Terror several times solo for this quest and can say for certain that this is the golem that does not DT. Fright and Dread do.

    Ghoulbane

this is the walktrough i used, was not created by me, just posting to save people time when looking.

not sure where i read about the ghoulbane in felwithe, but it worked for me, mob was single pullable by my froglok cleric, just invis to the outside the building with the sk and kill with another char(did not attempt with sk, but might be doable pre 60, mine was 59 and poorly geared)

hope this helps save people sometime.

Most definably the way to go shaving hrs off this quest making the longest part was the 72hr. re-spawn of Marl Kastane.

Just wanted to add something here, for those who do not always have someone to go along with them. If you buy some Cloudy Potions from the potion vendor in PoK, or Gunthak, they work with trade window open. Just did this today with Teydar and worked beautifully. Not sure if the Shammy made potions work that way as well, but gonna try it here in a few and see. Will post to this thread if it does.
Just did the turn-in to Ghost of Glohnor with Philter of Unlife Awareness potion, and can confirm that this will work as well. Seems any potion in your potion belt can be used with trade window open. So good luck with your epics. :)

    I MQ'd this for a friend.

The turn-in is faction based (Truespirit).

I could not do one with my necro, the quest mob (Duriek Bloodpool) just returned it to me.

But my shaman was able to MQ one, her epic is also based on Truespirit faction so she should have been good, and was.

I tried conning the mob but was only indifferent with my shaman but the turn-in was fine so the con must be based on a different faction.

    Truespirit faction:

all faction mods can be fixed with invis, entire quest is doable with no faction work at all, just bring someone to invis you or using innate invis(no cast time stuff)

for the undead mobs u use ivu, for the live mods u use invis, will bring u to indiff which is more then enough to do the turn ins for mqing.

entire quest can be done in under 6 hours with luck on spawns.

forgot to add, make sure you have the trade window open when the invis spells are cast upon you. this will give you the faction needed to get the mq/turn in done with no faction work at all.

unless this has been fixed it has been this way for many many many years.

    1. open trade.
    2. get invis.
    3. click trade(with indiff faction)

pretty sure sneak will work for this as well(not 100$ since i have never tried)
    MQ'ing Soul leech
    # Jul 27 2014 at 2:01 PM Rating: Default
Yes, Sneak/Hide works as well, if you have a Rogue or other class that can sneak,, then they should have no issue MQing any of the items, especially as Sneak doesn't fade off when you do a Turn-in like Invis does. Since SKs can't sneak, no one ever thought to post whether it does or not. One thing I haven't checked is whether illusions help any or not. I know you used to be able to get Wolf Form from a Druid and be able to use vendors or visit kos areas a long time ago. Not sure if that would work though. Might, considering True Spirit seems to be wolf related, to me anyway.

if the mob is undead use IVU instead of invis(indiff faction again)

this may seem odd since most undead mobs are kos naturally so opening a trade window would seem futile, but the mobs while based on faction should not attack unless attacked(if attackable at all)

with no faction work to truespirit u should be dubious i believe.

hope this helps people get it done, i got this info from a write up on some forums(sk i believe but forget the name/url)

But I'm just handing the item to him, there is no trade window. Do I stay invis if I do a hand in? I've not tried it. Something to think sbout.

When you turn in the 4 items to Lhranc, the paragraph ends like this...

"...deafening shriek that pierces you to the core. Lhranc hurls a coin at you and laughs, 'Here is your reward fool.'"

Just killed him today on Maelin Starpyre, Me (65 SK), my 76 bard boxed, 77 cleric and 66 magician. was a fun fight.. the cleric tanked and rest ofus just dpsd him down like crazy. But was pretty interesting. SK epic 1.0 complete.. finally.. after on and off doing the quest for about 4 yrs =D

the lvl requirment is built into the quests because you have zone into the planes for most of them. (lvl 46+ i think)

I have seen Marl once since the revamp.

When I asked him about the prophecy, he handed me a Letter to Gerot and immediately DESPAWNED.

I cannot tell if he has a multi-day respawn time or if he was given a nice 24 minute respawn of a Kerran for a PH. I am still investigating!

    ------Edit------

After conducting several days of heinous research:

Marl is NOT a PH spawn and did NOT spawn after handing in the Head of the Valiant or other supposed "Trigger" steps to the AA.

By my estimation it was approximately 3 days RL. My server did crash once or twice in the last week, so consider that a neglected variable.
