Explore the city gates 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Updates at about -655, 1020, -303. Investigate Vasser's House 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Updates at about -520, 1075, -296. Investigate the residence just north of Vasser's 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Updates at about -290, 1090, -297. Stop by the shop just north of the south gate 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Updates at about -165, 1020, -298. Speak to Eyrlingar 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) "Search" the embers for evidence 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Kill "an ember _____" NPCs until you get an update (expect 8-14 kills --some have suggested way more kills than this... needs verification). You receive an Inscribed Obsidian Stone on your cursor. Return the stone to Eyrlingar 0/1 (Argin-Hiz) Kill several laborers in the mines 0/5 (Argin-Hiz) Enter the mines and kill 5x "a laborer". If you have a chanter you can set up campfire by the Vassal guy run the the imp, charm it, mem blur his buddies, fellowship back to Vass. Break charm. Toss meat.. Done.
It took 12 kills on 2 characters and 13 on another. last one was an ember trooper.

Where it says "expect 9-14 kills", I think they meant "9-140".
