Full Walkthrough

You say, 'Hail Tomekeeper Dahl'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Good day, citizen. Please remember to keep your voice down in our library. Feel free to browse the extensive collection of books we have on display. Learning is all about you and our library is the greatest collection of educational literature in the world, as you can no doubt see. However, there are a few books we do not own and we are prepared to pay well to acquire [rare finds].

You say, 'What rare finds?'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Yes, any rare books, tomes, essays, or other literature you find may be of interested to me. Although the finds I am interested in are quite high profile and would most likely only be found in the possession of very powerful or influential beings. Give me what you have found and I will pay you what it is worth to us.

The book he requires is called 'Immortals', which can be found on various named mobs in Skyfire (Guardian of Felia, A Lava Walker, A Wandering Wurm, Black Scar, Faerie of Dismay).

Give Tomekeeper Danl the book of Immortals and get this response:

Tomekeeper Danl gasps at the sight of the rare book and says, 'This is a great find indeed! I can only imagine who you had to.. persuade to give you the book. Our library would be very interested in acquiring this and I am prepared to give you this platinum and a referral that marks you as a friend of the library. If only [Lheao] could see this.'

You say, 'Who is Lheao?'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Lheao was my predecessor here at the Library of Erudin. He has since retired, just a few years ago. I'm sure he would be most impressed with your find and offer insightful conversation on the subject. Although I'm not sure one of your profession would be interested in such a scholarly endeavor, no offense. If you are interested, find him and tell him you found the book 'Immortals.' I'm not sure where he has retired to, but I hear it is near an ocean somewhere.

He gives you a piece of paper called Danl's Reference.

Before continuing on, you will need to complete the following quests in this order:

Red Sash of Order (required to get the Robe of the Lost Circle)
Monk Purple Headband (required to get the Robe of the Lost Circle)
Monks of the Whistling Fists (to obtain the Robe of the Lost Circle, which is required to get the Robe of the Whistling Fists)
The Lost Circle (to obtain the Robe of the Whistling Fists, which is required in the next part of the monk epic)

Next, head to the hidden oasis in Timorous Deep. Once there, speak to Lheao.

You say, 'Hail Lhaeo'

Lheao jumps at your voice and begins laughing at his skittishness. He says, 'Ahh, hello there. Not many people know of this place, so visitors are quite rare. Hehehe. It's a very beautiful place indeed, so, ummm, please don't go telling everyone you know about it. Heheh. Thanks, friend.'

You say, 'I have found the book Immortals'

Lheao looks up at you, eyes wide in astonishment, and says, 'My god, you found 'Immortals'?! Where did you find it? Never mind, that is unimportant. I have in my possession a book that explains more about these individuals. Its value is unimaginable as well as the impact it is capable of. As you can see, I grow old. I need an individual to watch over this book and make sure it is protected. Would you be willing to [take this responsibility]?'

You say, 'I will take this responsibility'

Lheao says 'I'm sorry, but I could only give this book to a true master, such as a member of the Whistling Fists Order. And unless you can give me proof that you are one, in addition to Danl's reference, which is very unlikely, there is no way I'll let you take charge of [the Celestial Fists].

You say, 'What Celestial Fists?'

Lheao says 'The Celestial Fists is the title of a book written by an unknown author. His writing is sub par but the legend is interesting from a biographical standpoint alone. Its rarity commands top dollar in the scholarly community but the secrets revealed in the book are what truly makes it dangerous. I've thought many times to destroy it but just couldn't. I hope I'm able to find someone to watch over it soon.

Hand in the Robe of the Whistling Fists and Danl's Reference to get this response:

Lheao says 'Astonishing! To think that you are a master of an order thought to be lost to our world. Forgive my earlier doubts. I believe you are indeed worthy to be given the responsibility of watching over this book. Take great care that it does not fall into the wrong hands as it would be truly disastrous.

The Celestial Fists Book is illegible.

Now head to Trakanon's Teeth and find an NPC named Kaiaren. He is located at Loc -1609, -2679, in the undead ruins.

You say, 'Hail Kaiaren'

Kaiaren says, "AHHH get it away from me go away .. leave me alone".

You say, 'What Celestial Fists?'

Kaiaren says 'Eh? What's that? Bah! That was destroyed long ago. Don't waste my time with fairy taAAAAAGGHHH GET IT AWAY!!!! HELP!!! They're all over MEHEHEHEHEEEEEEee!!

Hand the book "Celestial Fists" to Kaiaren, you will get the Celestial Fists book back and get this response:

Kaiaren's eyes open wide and he attacks you!

If you kill him, you'll get the response, 'Not bad.. Now lets see if you can find my trueform if you do we discuss this further.'

However it is not necessary to kill him. You can just Feign Death to eliminate his aggro.

Now go out and find Kaiaren's true form, which spawned when you gave the book to the angry form. This version is also called Kaiaren, and spawns at approximately +300, +2400 in a building next to the lake. He is indifferent to all.

When you hand him the book, he says the following:

(NOTE: The book you handed in was called "Celestial Fists." The book you get back is called "Book of Celestial Fists." Do NOT hand this book in yet, as he will also be expecting an item you have not yet obtained.)

Kaiaren says 'Now, then. Where did you find this, monk? This is not just some light reading to be borrowed from the town library. Who gave this to you?

You say, 'I got it from Lheao'

Kaiaren says 'Hmmm, never heard of him. Well, it doesn't matter, the book is here now. Curse that idiot for writing it in the first place. Not even sure why I let him stick around. If you ever see that clown monk Aradiel kick him in the shins for me! At any rate, I suppose you'd like to find the Fists and [have a nice chat with them], eh? Their master owes me much. I would reward you well if you were to bring me proof of the master's defeat'

You say, 'I would like to have a nice chat with them'

Kaiaren says 'Yes, I suppose you would. All you children looking for fame and glory will eventually learn the poison of ambition. But how will you find them? They are able to meld with their elements seamlessly and they certainly have no interest in fooling with the likes of you. No, you will need to get their attention. Fortunately, I know [how you can do this].

You say, 'How can I do this?'

Kaiaren says, 'My guess is that the weakest of the Fists will be the easiest to draw out. He is egotistical and arrogant. How he came to master the Discipline of Fire, I do not know. He will most likely be in another form, one of his element. When you find the one you believe to be the Fist, you must challenge him. If you use his true name, Eejag, in your formal challenge, he will respond. A flame can burn intensely but it cannot last for long. Know this when you battle him.

At this point, head on over to the Lavastorm Mountains with a group and find an imp named "A Fire Sprite" and say "I challenge Eejag." There will be a shout to the zone (if no shout, it means Eejag is already up):

Eejag shouts, "What imbecile dares challenges a Celestial Fist?! Do you even know who you are challenging? HA! You are nothing but an insect! I will enjoy crushing you, I have not charred the flesh of an idiot in decades! If you truly wish to fight me, the battle shall be held in my own element. Come, challenger, come down to the pits of flowing fire."

Head over to the fire pit by the entrances to Sol A and Sol B. Under the middle smoke plume, about half way down, you'll see Eejag (an Iksar) swimming. He cannot be pulled so you'll have to fight him where he is -- in the lava.

Once killed, he drops a Charred Scale.

Head back to Trakanon's Teeth and hand the Charred Scale to the true form of Kaiaren. The scale is returned to you, and you get the following:

Kaiaren says 'Ahhh, impressive indeed! Now that you have broken the chain of the Fists, the others may come toppling down if you persevere. The Fist of Air is now the weakest, then Earth, and finally Water before the master of them all, Vorash. You must defeat them in order, proving the demise of the last to draw out the one you are after. The task before you now is to take this scale and show it to the Fist of Air wherever he may be. Good luck.

Now head up to the Plane of Sky and find an NPC named "A Presence" on Noble Dojorn's island. It is in the form of a shadowman so only the name is visible.

Hand the Charred Scale over to the Presence and get this response:

a presence says 'Hahaha! That dolt Eejag fell to the likes of you? I'm not surprised. So, I guess this means you're here to challenge me. Normally, I wouldn't waste my time, but since you've defeated my younger brother, I suppose I'm obligated. I'm ready when you are, tell me when you're [prepared].

The Presence will despawn and a Human monk named Gwan appears in his place. Telling him 'I am prepared' causes him to attack (or do it the old fashioned way by engaging him first).

(NOTE: Gwan procs Fist of Air which can knock you backwards. This can be dangerous if you're too close to the island's edge.)

Once dead, loot the "Breath of Gwan" and go directly to the Mines of Nurga to find a sleeping ogre. He's KOS so you may have to have an enchanter charm him for this next part.

Once you're ready for a fight, hand him the Breath of Gwan to get this response:

a sleeping ogre says 'Your path of wanton destruction ends here. Gwan and Eejag were impatient and hot-headed. You will not defeat me, for I have the patience and perseverance of stone, unlike the children you have beaten before me. Are you sure you want to challenge me?

He won't give you a chance to respond. Trunt, a 59th level KOS ogre will immediately spawn and attack. He is immune to magic and a tougher fight than the previous ones.

He drops Trunt's Head.

Take the head to Lake Rathe and find a 58th level dark elf named Deep who lives in the lake. Hand Trunt's Head to her to get the following:

Deep slowly opens her eyes and looks up at you. She stares at you a long while and then closes her eyes and lowers her head again, saying, 'Very well, if you wish death so greatly, we will be happy to oblige. My master projects part of himself in the wilder lands known as the Overthere. He has granted you an audience. Find him and show him the head of our earth brother. At that point, we will discuss how we will end your life.

Deep despawns immediately and you get the Head of Trunt back.

Head to the Overthere, and find Astral Projection in the bottom of the scorpion chasm at +3830, -3545. He does not need to be fought.

Hand Trunt's Head over and get the following response:

Astral Projection looks up and down and says, 'Hmmm, I was hoping for something more impressive. This is just a small token of the last person who tried to interfere with my plans. He failed as you shall. But tell me truly, are you the one who has so rudely removed my students?'

You say, 'Yes'

Astral Projection says 'I assume you have read about us and spoken with the old man, Kaiaren. Since that time, I have grown in power and influence to a point unseen by any mortal. Unfortunately, I will have to demonstrate a small amount of my skill when I destroy you. This is bad. I must decide whether you are worthy to see the techniques I wield, even though you will die shortly thereafter. Tell me, who are you?

You say, 'I am the one'

Astral Projection chuckles and says, 'That's quite a boast. All beings strive for nothingness at the most basic level of sentience. However, almost none ever achieve this. Not even I have discarded my ego yet and you stand here and tell me you have? Perhaps you will be a worthy opponent. I shall be waiting in the great lake near here. Take that token as proof of things to come for you. If you still wish to throw your life away so needlessly, return it to my image there. I await your decision.'

He will give you an Eye of Kaiaren and then despawn.

Now head to the Lake of Ill Omen for the final fight of the monk epic. You can find Astral Projection (same form as the Overthere version) on the platform in the lake itself at +765, +860.

When you give the Eye of Kaiaren to the Astral Projection, he despawns. Deep and Vorash will then both spawn, and are very much KOS.

Deep procs Fist of Water, and hits for 170ish. Vorash procs Fist of Mastery, which is a DD and a stun, and hits for around the same as Deep.

Both Deep and Vorash have no items.

Once killed, Vorash says 'Foolish mortal! You think you have defeated me? Now, witness the true power of Rallos Zek!

Xenevorash will then spawn on the platform, regardless of where Vorash dies.

Xenevorash procs Fist of Sentience which is a 500DD and a stun, and hits for 250.

Once he is killed, his death message is:

Xenevorash's corpse shouts 'Grraaaagghhhh!! NOT.. POSSIBLE!

He drops a Demon's Fang.

Finally, head back to Trakanon's Teeth and hand Kaiaren (either form) the Demon's Fang and the "Book of Celestial Fists."

Kaiaren bows his head and breathes a long sigh as if relived of a great weight. He then looks up at you and says, 'I honestly did not believe you could have defeated Vorash. Even though he sought nothing but war and bloodshed, it is a life nonetheless and we must mourn him. I will sew these fangs into magical fist wraps and they shall be yours. Remember Xenevorash. A purpose can be found for every situation and individual. To achieve perfection is to perceive this truth.'

You receive the Celestial Fists.

hey guys i found something, may be nothing but not sure.. ok the guy that posted here "post from monkly...." he mentions a book with 4 names.. CARADON name is shown i have NO idea what thats for but if it helps I FOUND this CARADON npc inside "the hole"! he is located in the jail, follow around thru the left wall and take a right and last jail cell.. hes level 55 and responds to hail, he was imprissioned and seeks a key, i think we asked him "where is kyranna" her name might be misspelled:), but he mentions about his incarseration either in the hail or if you ask a question thats visibly given in the hail text.. anyway it seems she is nearby and he will tell you where to go for her if you get him a key to help in his freedom..

now someplayers have said this is the paladin quest here, but that is still iffy and there is a chance our quests overlap npc's in the game, save some programming time and shove 2 quests onto one guy..

im just bringing it to light that this poster here said caradon as an immortal and is in this book we get, and he is in the hole and talkable to, there is a quest of getting him a key to help him escape, and he will lead you or give information to another npc, a female named kyranna amma whatever.... obviously ive not found a key:)

Caradon and kyranna are part of the SK particle weapon quest (see the quest:'Innoruuk's curse' under shadowknight quests)
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 07 2000 at 12:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Isn't Karana a guy... not a girl? Oh, and you did misspell his name.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 05 2000 at 6:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) while looking at one of the other monk message boards someone mentioned a new npc in paineel. i had to see for myself so started a newb SK. Kastone Gerot sp? was the npc i ran into just outside the SK guild and isn't too far from the entrance. i looked at illia's bestiary and she doesn't have him listed on the chart. he is surrounded by necros though and you have to go past a series of skelly guards to get to him. he is human, no weapons, but doesn't have to typical monk garb, looks kinda like targin in solb. nor does he respond kindly to any of my hails.
Has anyone tried giving the Book of Immortals to Lheao?

Danl did say that he figured Lheao would like to see it.

Original Poster Talnic

As of now, here is all that I can think of about the quest. I'll start by listing FACTS. I've not slept in 24 hours now, so I'm not abotu to cut and paste text, but I'll do my best at remembering things.

Facts:

--The book 'Immortals':

-Drops in Skyfire off of seemingly random rare mobs. No Drop, Lore.

-ID's as 'A Book of Philosophy'

-Text of the book is a near rip off of the Tao Te Ching, modified for EQ.

-The book names 4 names, likely to be of these immortals themselves: Trorsmang, Drinal, Cordan, and Anbeal.

-These 4 names are anagrams for Armstrong, Aldrin, Conrad, and Al Bean, the first 4 men to walk on the moon.

--Trorsmang

-A name mentioned in the book Immortals.

-A name on a piece of equipment leaked from the Test server approximately 3 months ago- Bo Staff of Trorsmang, Lore, Magic, 40/35, MNK only 1hb.

-The name Trorsmang was unseen until the posting of that weapon, and was never seen in game until the discovery of the book Immortal. This is a strong tie to it being the Monk quest.

--Tomekeeper Danl: Indiff Faction in Erudin Library.

-He seeks books, tomes, etc. and will reward you for any finds you bring him.

-Danl rewards you for returning the book 'Immortals' with XP, some platinum, and a reference proclaiming you a friend of the library.

-He also mentions Lheao, and says that Lhea would certainly provide insightful conversation about the book Immortals.

-Danl also says that 'he doesn't normally expect one of your profession to be interested in such scholarly endeavors'. This is a clear clue that this is not a caster quest.

--Lheao: Indiff Faction, found at Hidden Inn in Timorous Deep.
(Swim to roughly neg11530 neg3755, find the passage thru the rock at the bottom of the sea, once inside, swim to roughly neg11330 neg1380 and again find the passage at the bottom. The Inn is inside there.)

-Responds to hailing by being startled at having a visitor, since the place is not very known about. He says that he thinks the place is quite beautiful and peaceful, and asks that you not tell anyone about it.

-Responds to the trigger phrase 'Celestial Fists'. In no way did we come across this phrase through his own dialogue- rather, Zadkiel found it thru sheer fluke of trying the term 'Celestial Tranquility' believed to be our epic weapon effect.

-His response when asked about Celestial Fists is to speak of a book written by an unknown author. It is very rare, and extremely valuable, but the power of the secrets within is so strong, Lheao had thought of destroying the book many times. He seeks a worthy person to watch over it.

-If you hand him a random junk item such as a bandage, he does not reply at all.

-If you hand him Danl's reference, he answers with 'I require reference and proof of your mastery'.

-The reference, obviously, is the reference from Danl.

-The proof of mastery is The Robe of the Whistling Fist.

-Handing in the reference and the RotWF gives you XP, no faction adjustment, and text along the lines of 'You are a master of an order long thought gone from this world! My earlier beliefs were wrong, forgive me. You are worthy to look over the Celestial Fists. Please, keep it out of the wrong hands.'

-The text 'You are a master of an order long thought to be gone from this world.' clearly signifies that ONLY the Robe of the Whistling Fists will count as his proof of mastery.

-For handing in the RotWF and the reference, you recieve 'Celestial Fists'.

--the book 'Celestial Fists'

-Obtained from Lheao.

-LORE, MAGIC, NO DROP. Wt. 3.0

-The icon is that of a book, but it cannot be read by right clicking on it.

-It ID's as 'Illegible Tome of Immense Power'

-This book is NOT to be given to Tomekeeper Danl. He simply eats it. (Discovered by Brother Bloodscale of Terris Thule)

-This book is NOT to be given to the Astral Projection in Overthere. (Discovered by Brother Zahdane)

-Giving this book to Kaiaren may or may not be necessary. The result is odd.

--Kaiaren: Found just inside the ruins above Old Sebilis. (neg1623, neg2912)

-Hailing him only returns 'Gaah! Go away! Goooowwwaaay! Get it away from me!'

-Killing him results in a message about finding his 'True Form'.

-He drops nothing.

-Giving him the book 'Celestial Fists' incites him to attack, but you do recieve the book back.

-He has not answered to any text other than 'Hail Kaiaren'

--Astral Projection, Overthere:
(Located in the Scorpikis Canyon, loc pos 776, pos 850)

-Does not respond to hails.

-Responds to the phrase 'Yes exactly' with 'So you have read about us, or spoken with the old man, Kaiaren. Since then we have become remarkably strong, stronger than any mortal could comprehend. I will unfortunately demonstrate a fraction of that power when I destroy you.'

-Responds to the phrase 'I am the one', likely to follow the preceeding text, with the something to the extent of 'That's quite a boast, Derra. All beings strive for nothingness at the most basic level of sentience. Yet almost none achieve this. Not even I have discarded my ego yet, and you stand here and tell me you have? Perhaps you will be a worthy opponent. I shall be waiting in the great lake near here. Take that token as a proof of things to come for you. If you still wish to throw your life away needlessly, return it to my image there.' He then despawns.

-Triggering the preceeding text does not get him to hand you an item.

-Whatever item you recieve from him must be returned to him in his Astral Projection form in Ill Omen.

-He appears to be a 3 hour spawn.

--Astral Projection, Lake of Ill Omen:
(Middle of the lake on a platform. SoW and Levitate required. Loc is neg 798, neg 539)

-Does not respond to hails.

-Has not responded to any prompts that one might infer work from speaking to the OT AP.

-Death message says something to the effect of 'Well done, but now prepare for the final battle!'

I think those are all of the straight facts. I can edit as needed. Now, it's up to all of us to figure out the missing parts.

Most of what we have here, as sad as it sounds, is the result of luck and blind leaps of faith. Some of those leaps have paid off (ie: Giving the robe to Lheao), and some unfortunately, have not (Condolences and hugs to Bloodscale and Zahdane- names that *will* be remembered in completing this quest).

As a result of these blind leaps and luck, we have a number of holes in the quest. Most notably, with Lheao. He did not speak with us about Immortals, and thus, never even prompted us to ask him about Celestial Fists. As such, we have no idea about the book itself really- or where it should be taken next.

It would appear that we have two logical processions so far...

???? to Tomekeeper Danl to Lheao to ?????

There may or may not be a step before Danl. It would seem likely that someone would aim us at this book Immortals, but it is also very possible that one requires sheer luck to find and turn in the book.

After Lheao, we would either go to Kaiaren, or a missing step. Likely a missing sstep, seeing as Kaiaren doesn't respond normally with the book.

Hence...

Lheao to ????(Unknown Number of steps) to Kaiaren

and then...

Kaiaren to Overthere Astral to Lake of Ill Omen Astral

And then...? Perhaps the final battle is with a spawn in place of the LoIO AP when you give it the token from the OT AP. Or perhaps not.

Whatever the case may be, we've come this far on luck and blind faith, and we can't continue on that path- we need to understand why we're doing the quest (Yes, I know, but why besides the phat lewt?) if we intend to go anywhere else with it.

We've got a great community, so let's put those heads together.

Please- take the time to READ this whole thread. Don't repeat ideas, or ask questions already answered- it'll only take space and thought away from more important things.

Good luck, and godspeed!

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 05 2000 at 2:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) maybe the token you need to give to the astral projection in lake is the book of celestial fists but this would be a nasty leap of faith has anyone tried it?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 3:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Other possible links could be with the 4 names as well. Have you tried talking to the Various NPCs about who are or what became of these 4 "Immortals". As the quest could be like the jouney that those people took to become Immortal.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 04 2000 at 11:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Has anyone tried hailing the projections using the immortal's names?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 9:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ahhh is it me or do we have the same start and the wiz do my friend is almost done with the wiz quest and thats the same start give the ERU 1k and he will talk about someone in hideing, and the names in the book are four wiz that were put in tho staffs of great power but one is still alive but he is in hideing.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 3:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i will not post the exact details yet as i do not want everyone to try it and waste 2 whole days like i did as the one of the components is bugged.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 11:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is not anything for the Uber Quest. The starter is in Qeynos named umvera dekesh- you have to get 4 scrolls from split paw, once given to Umvera you get the bugged note- it is supposed to be an unbound book- you then take that book(which cannot be viewed outside that Qeynos zone or you crash), in a bag to hide the contents, to some guy in an Inn in Freeport. He binds the book and you have to take it back to the Umvera. He then has you visit a dwarvish smith in BucherBlock to get the quest item- a set of gloves that are - get this- Also BUGGED. They are pretty nice though you cannot look at them outside butcherblock zone. Hope this clears it up.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 8:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I saw this quest mentioned on one of the other monk boards. It complained of the bugged icon also. It is called the Splitpaw scrolls quest and has no relation to the monk epic quest. It does result in a rather nice set of gloves though.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 5:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Unless the scroll you got was the wrong scroll and not just the wrong icon, the quest you got was in as soon as Kunark went live. You get that note after killing a spider that spawns from the corpse of a "Dark Elf Spy" or something to that effect that spawns from the corpse of Dorn B Dynn (with no ' ) in North Ro. Apparently the quest involves the spy disguising himself as Dorn to intercept info.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 12:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I found a spider in that area and killed it, dropped a Charasis tome, I couldn't read language so i tossed it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 9:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This note has the text of the iksar monk newbie note, which simply means its bugged.

This was sent in to me today. I don't want to post it officially until I can verify it, but I thought I would put it up here for you all to see and perhaps say whether you think it is real or a fake. I e-mailed the submitter to ask him for quest details, so hopefully I can put something up officially tomorrow. He wants to remain anonymous, which I of course will respect.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 10 2000 at 5:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) All pictures are like that with the blurs. The thing that I noticed was wrong with it is that it says race:all. The other particle weapons give race specfics
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 09 2000 at 12:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Look at the SV Cold: line...it has "SV: +Cold". Kinda suspicious that VErant would make an item that people would work weeks for and then have the text on it be bugged.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 09 2000 at 2:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This has to be a fake, look at how the 10 is shown, goto any real item and compair it. Its different, so im saying that it is fake..
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 06 2000 at 6:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Look at the Picture SV: +COLD who ever made this fake was very stupid.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 10:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The only thing about that image that worries me is "SV: +COLD" Aside from that it looks to be pretty much in line with the bard and rogue items. Guess I may as well get started on the next set of sashes and headbands so I can replace my robe if I ever get one :)

I am a pro graphics editor and I looks over it very carefully, zoomed in and out and it looks authentic to me!!! I would say it is real or it is fake and the bard sword is fake, I compered it to the bard sword zoomed in at %1600 and the text, the spacing, everything is perfect.

did you bother to check the sv vs cold?..it says sv+cold...not flaming, just stating a fact

Did you notice that the SV COLD is all messed up?
Shouldn't it read SV COLD: +__ instead of SV: +COLD?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 09 2000 at 9:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dont look at the spacing.. look at how there is a blurred box around the text.. no real shot has that..
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 2:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) aye. just another two cents worth. i have yet to see a monk only item read class monk races all. every monk only item i seen has class monk race iksar human. since there is only two that can be monks, why would it say all.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 10:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Exactly my view of monk items HUM ISK.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 6:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Pretty sad fake. Look at the 10s and such, they are WAY to close togather for a normal wep.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 1:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Most likely fake. Take a look at saves

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 01 2000 at 1:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Look at the save versus cold part- it's really messed up. This is obviously a hoax.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 01 2000 at 1:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Besides, I doubt the result of our quest would be a single 1hb. It would either be a 2hb or (I hope) two 1hb.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 01 2000 at 10:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why do you say that? Both bards and rogues can duel wield and they get only one weapon
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 01 2000 at 12:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Fury of Ton Po isn't in the .dat file. I would've believed it if he put 'Celestial Tranquility' in there instead =P
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 01 2000 at 11:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This looks fake to me: if you look at the pic, it says SV FIRE: +20 <u><b>***SV: +COLD***</u></b> and SV MAGIC: +10... the SV: +COLD shows to me that it's fake... just pointing that out.

and there is no "fury of ton po" spell in the .dat file, there is this spell though:

Celestial Tranquility
Increase Attack Speed by 40% (L1)
Increase Armor Class (AC) by 12 (L1)
Increase Strength by 40 (L1)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Classes: None

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill: Instantaneous
Allowable Targets: Self

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resistance Check: None

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i imagine all the melee classes get this 40% crap *sigh*

I noticed that too, that Fury of Ton Po isnt in the spdat.eff file. Also, Ive heard that monks get 2 weapons for their quest instead of just 1.

And about that 40% haste, dont complain...us warriors dont even get haste with our Uber-hard quest...

I think Monk's do get 2 weapons.. Because when running the Emu you can see 2 items that would work for a monk..

Circling bubbles around the hand (look almost like half-shurikens) as well as the Flaming fist thing (looks crappy.. they should have made it a thicker flame)..

well so far we have the following
librarian in erudin gives quest for book from skyfire.
take letter to assistant along with robe of the whistling fist. to get the celestial fist book
(this step is uncertain)
get book repaired/translated

take finished celestial fist book to TT and monk there attacks when you try to hand it in.

so we're missing a few pieces in there that we need to find

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 24 2000 at 4:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) From what I've gathered so far about most of the quests, they involve a starting point somewhere on the main lands of Norrath. Not one has officially been found to "start" in Kunark, unless theres one for the Iksar by themselves. Also, most of the starting mobs have been in places that are relatively easy to get to for a 50th level, either out in the open or right under your nose. There's many possibilities to this. Monks are not exclusive to Freeport, theres also the Monks in Qeynos and the Monks in Rathe Mountains, not to mention Monks in Cabilis with the Iksar.

Astral Projection

http://boards.station.sony.com/everquest/Forum2/HTML/016151.html

First i would like to thank Bradan and Baktogib who helped me find out what little i know so far

There is a monk npc in TT named Kaiaren. He is found near seblis. This npc responds to hails with much to the effect of " AHHH get it away from me go away .. leave me alone". He doesnt answer any questions i could think of.
when killed he says "Not bad, . Now, let's see if you can find my true form. If you do, we will discuss this further.

his true form as far as i can tell is in the form of an Astral Projection. There are 2 of these one in Lake of Ill Oman on a platform in the water that is kinda hard to get to at loc close to -650, -650 , the other is in The Overthere in the gorge in the middle of zone that goes to HS at loc close to 750, 750 .

We killed both after killing the one in Lake of Ill Oman we got a message from the corpse "Your Technique is magnificent! Now the final battle is upon you. Brace yourself!"

well at this point NOTHING happend ..

So we went to the overthere and killed the Astral Projection. The corpse did not give us any message.
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 25 2000 at 2:54 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Astral hmm... Sounds like his tru form is in one of the planes to me. Plane of sky would be my best guess, sigh...
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 22 2000 at 10:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) what makes you think something is supposed to happen? You want a piano to fall from the sky? obviously you are not finished with *something*!
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 22 2000 at 10:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Obviously we dont know what were doing and thats the problem. We have no starting NPC that has been found. We're in the Dark. Not like the necros who can just traipse up to Nekulos Forest and Find out everything they need. We have no beginning do you understand? We are in the proverbial #$(*ing Dark. Ive searched about 3/4 of World and found a metric butt ton of NPCs for other classes. And most of them Talk tell you anything you want to know. Wheres the monk starter?
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 23 2000 at 5:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post)
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 23 2000 at 5:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) paladins had a hard time finding the start to FA also... they looked all over the world and didnt find anything, but the start was found in the plane of sky. maybe you should look to planes also instead of only the ground
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 23 2000 at 9:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Then my question would be, Why the hell do monks get stuck up on the Planes for their start? Why not Verants Precious Necros? Why they trying to always keep the Monk down? See if I thought like that I would never move forward. Anyone else have to go up to POS to start their Quest?
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 23 2000 at 8:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) looking at eqvault monk chat i noticed someone say there is another astral projection in the lake of ill omen on the lake. that would put the count up to 3. lake of ill omen, lake rathe, and the overthere.

#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 21 2000 at 6:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you just go up to her and say the word "water" its the key word and she'll go into saying something to the effect. "yes m'lord I need water for my sick brother hes burnin up, im sick to but i can still move. i have to get water to my brother. " ive tried every kind of phrase to keep it goin but to no availe. also behind her in the bakery there is the shortest person npc human ive met if i didnt know better id say its a kid npc name in joshua same thing he doesnt respond to a hail i sat round for bout 15 min and he never had one of those discussions with the NPC standin next to him so we need to find what to ask him. not sure if joshua is the peasant womens brother hes awfully close to same loc.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 23 2000 at 11:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) She is directly related to pally faction- She is amiable to me, and the only others in FP who are amiable to me are the pallys. I think she is part of the pally quest- You know, helping a weak lady carrying a bucket of water? Curing the diseased? think about it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 25 2000 at 4:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Nay, she's definitely not on FP paladin faction. I'm an iksar who spent quite a while working on faction, and right now I'm at least dubious with everyone in FP, amiable with most.
