Full Walkthrough

You say, 'Hail Tomekeeper Dahl'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Good day, citizen. Please remember to keep your voice down in our library. Feel free to browse the extensive collection of books we have on display. Learning is all about you and our library is the greatest collection of educational literature in the world, as you can no doubt see. However, there are a few books we do not own and we are prepared to pay well to acquire [rare finds].

You say, 'What rare finds?'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Yes, any rare books, tomes, essays, or other literature you find may be of interested to me. Although the finds I am interested in are quite high profile and would most likely only be found in the possession of very powerful or influential beings. Give me what you have found and I will pay you what it is worth to us.

The book he requires is called 'Immortals', which can be found on various named mobs in Skyfire (Guardian of Felia, A Lava Walker, A Wandering Wurm, Black Scar, Faerie of Dismay).

Give Tomekeeper Danl the book of Immortals and get this response:

Tomekeeper Danl gasps at the sight of the rare book and says, 'This is a great find indeed! I can only imagine who you had to.. persuade to give you the book. Our library would be very interested in acquiring this and I am prepared to give you this platinum and a referral that marks you as a friend of the library. If only [Lheao] could see this.'

You say, 'Who is Lheao?'

Tomekeeper Danl says 'Lheao was my predecessor here at the Library of Erudin. He has since retired, just a few years ago. I'm sure he would be most impressed with your find and offer insightful conversation on the subject. Although I'm not sure one of your profession would be interested in such a scholarly endeavor, no offense. If you are interested, find him and tell him you found the book 'Immortals.' I'm not sure where he has retired to, but I hear it is near an ocean somewhere.

He gives you a piece of paper called Danl's Reference.

Before continuing on, you will need to complete the following quests in this order:

Red Sash of Order (required to get the Robe of the Lost Circle)
Monk Purple Headband (required to get the Robe of the Lost Circle)
Monks of the Whistling Fists (to obtain the Robe of the Lost Circle, which is required to get the Robe of the Whistling Fists)
The Lost Circle (to obtain the Robe of the Whistling Fists, which is required in the next part of the monk epic)

Next, head to the hidden oasis in Timorous Deep. Once there, speak to Lheao.

You say, 'Hail Lhaeo'

Lheao jumps at your voice and begins laughing at his skittishness. He says, 'Ahh, hello there. Not many people know of this place, so visitors are quite rare. Hehehe. It's a very beautiful place indeed, so, ummm, please don't go telling everyone you know about it. Heheh. Thanks, friend.'

You say, 'I have found the book Immortals'

Lheao looks up at you, eyes wide in astonishment, and says, 'My god, you found 'Immortals'?! Where did you find it? Never mind, that is unimportant. I have in my possession a book that explains more about these individuals. Its value is unimaginable as well as the impact it is capable of. As you can see, I grow old. I need an individual to watch over this book and make sure it is protected. Would you be willing to [take this responsibility]?'

You say, 'I will take this responsibility'

Lheao says 'I'm sorry, but I could only give this book to a true master, such as a member of the Whistling Fists Order. And unless you can give me proof that you are one, in addition to Danl's reference, which is very unlikely, there is no way I'll let you take charge of [the Celestial Fists].

You say, 'What Celestial Fists?'

Lheao says 'The Celestial Fists is the title of a book written by an unknown author. His writing is sub par but the legend is interesting from a biographical standpoint alone. Its rarity commands top dollar in the scholarly community but the secrets revealed in the book are what truly makes it dangerous. I've thought many times to destroy it but just couldn't. I hope I'm able to find someone to watch over it soon.

Hand in the Robe of the Whistling Fists and Danl's Reference to get this response:

Lheao says 'Astonishing! To think that you are a master of an order thought to be lost to our world. Forgive my earlier doubts. I believe you are indeed worthy to be given the responsibility of watching over this book. Take great care that it does not fall into the wrong hands as it would be truly disastrous.

The Celestial Fists Book is illegible.

Now head to Trakanon's Teeth and find an NPC named Kaiaren. He is located at Loc -1609, -2679, in the undead ruins.

You say, 'Hail Kaiaren'

Kaiaren says, "AHHH get it away from me go away .. leave me alone".

You say, 'What Celestial Fists?'

Kaiaren says 'Eh? What's that? Bah! That was destroyed long ago. Don't waste my time with fairy taAAAAAGGHHH GET IT AWAY!!!! HELP!!! They're all over MEHEHEHEHEEEEEEee!!

Hand the book "Celestial Fists" to Kaiaren, you will get the Celestial Fists book back and get this response:

Kaiaren's eyes open wide and he attacks you!

If you kill him, you'll get the response, 'Not bad.. Now lets see if you can find my trueform if you do we discuss this further.'

However it is not necessary to kill him. You can just Feign Death to eliminate his aggro.

Now go out and find Kaiaren's true form, which spawned when you gave the book to the angry form. This version is also called Kaiaren, and spawns at approximately +300, +2400 in a building next to the lake. He is indifferent to all.

When you hand him the book, he says the following:

(NOTE: The book you handed in was called "Celestial Fists." The book you get back is called "Book of Celestial Fists." Do NOT hand this book in yet, as he will also be expecting an item you have not yet obtained.)

Kaiaren says 'Now, then. Where did you find this, monk? This is not just some light reading to be borrowed from the town library. Who gave this to you?

You say, 'I got it from Lheao'

Kaiaren says 'Hmmm, never heard of him. Well, it doesn't matter, the book is here now. Curse that idiot for writing it in the first place. Not even sure why I let him stick around. If you ever see that clown monk Aradiel kick him in the shins for me! At any rate, I suppose you'd like to find the Fists and [have a nice chat with them], eh? Their master owes me much. I would reward you well if you were to bring me proof of the master's defeat'

You say, 'I would like to have a nice chat with them'

Kaiaren says 'Yes, I suppose you would. All you children looking for fame and glory will eventually learn the poison of ambition. But how will you find them? They are able to meld with their elements seamlessly and they certainly have no interest in fooling with the likes of you. No, you will need to get their attention. Fortunately, I know [how you can do this].

You say, 'How can I do this?'

Kaiaren says, 'My guess is that the weakest of the Fists will be the easiest to draw out. He is egotistical and arrogant. How he came to master the Discipline of Fire, I do not know. He will most likely be in another form, one of his element. When you find the one you believe to be the Fist, you must challenge him. If you use his true name, Eejag, in your formal challenge, he will respond. A flame can burn intensely but it cannot last for long. Know this when you battle him.

At this point, head on over to the Lavastorm Mountains with a group and find an imp named "A Fire Sprite" and say "I challenge Eejag." There will be a shout to the zone (if no shout, it means Eejag is already up):

Eejag shouts, "What imbecile dares challenges a Celestial Fist?! Do you even know who you are challenging? HA! You are nothing but an insect! I will enjoy crushing you, I have not charred the flesh of an idiot in decades! If you truly wish to fight me, the battle shall be held in my own element. Come, challenger, come down to the pits of flowing fire."

Head over to the fire pit by the entrances to Sol A and Sol B. Under the middle smoke plume, about half way down, you'll see Eejag (an Iksar) swimming. He cannot be pulled so you'll have to fight him where he is -- in the lava.

Once killed, he drops a Charred Scale.

Head back to Trakanon's Teeth and hand the Charred Scale to the true form of Kaiaren. The scale is returned to you, and you get the following:

Kaiaren says 'Ahhh, impressive indeed! Now that you have broken the chain of the Fists, the others may come toppling down if you persevere. The Fist of Air is now the weakest, then Earth, and finally Water before the master of them all, Vorash. You must defeat them in order, proving the demise of the last to draw out the one you are after. The task before you now is to take this scale and show it to the Fist of Air wherever he may be. Good luck.

Now head up to the Plane of Sky and find an NPC named "A Presence" on Noble Dojorn's island. It is in the form of a shadowman so only the name is visible.

Hand the Charred Scale over to the Presence and get this response:

a presence says 'Hahaha! That dolt Eejag fell to the likes of you? I'm not surprised. So, I guess this means you're here to challenge me. Normally, I wouldn't waste my time, but since you've defeated my younger brother, I suppose I'm obligated. I'm ready when you are, tell me when you're [prepared].

The Presence will despawn and a Human monk named Gwan appears in his place. Telling him 'I am prepared' causes him to attack (or do it the old fashioned way by engaging him first).

(NOTE: Gwan procs Fist of Air which can knock you backwards. This can be dangerous if you're too close to the island's edge.)

Once dead, loot the "Breath of Gwan" and go directly to the Mines of Nurga to find a sleeping ogre. He's KOS so you may have to have an enchanter charm him for this next part.

Once you're ready for a fight, hand him the Breath of Gwan to get this response:

a sleeping ogre says 'Your path of wanton destruction ends here. Gwan and Eejag were impatient and hot-headed. You will not defeat me, for I have the patience and perseverance of stone, unlike the children you have beaten before me. Are you sure you want to challenge me?

He won't give you a chance to respond. Trunt, a 59th level KOS ogre will immediately spawn and attack. He is immune to magic and a tougher fight than the previous ones.

He drops Trunt's Head.

Take the head to Lake Rathe and find a 58th level dark elf named Deep who lives in the lake. Hand Trunt's Head to her to get the following:

Deep slowly opens her eyes and looks up at you. She stares at you a long while and then closes her eyes and lowers her head again, saying, 'Very well, if you wish death so greatly, we will be happy to oblige. My master projects part of himself in the wilder lands known as the Overthere. He has granted you an audience. Find him and show him the head of our earth brother. At that point, we will discuss how we will end your life.

Deep despawns immediately and you get the Head of Trunt back.

Head to the Overthere, and find Astral Projection in the bottom of the scorpion chasm at +3830, -3545. He does not need to be fought.

Hand Trunt's Head over and get the following response:

Astral Projection looks up and down and says, 'Hmmm, I was hoping for something more impressive. This is just a small token of the last person who tried to interfere with my plans. He failed as you shall. But tell me truly, are you the one who has so rudely removed my students?'

You say, 'Yes'

Astral Projection says 'I assume you have read about us and spoken with the old man, Kaiaren. Since that time, I have grown in power and influence to a point unseen by any mortal. Unfortunately, I will have to demonstrate a small amount of my skill when I destroy you. This is bad. I must decide whether you are worthy to see the techniques I wield, even though you will die shortly thereafter. Tell me, who are you?

You say, 'I am the one'

Astral Projection chuckles and says, 'That's quite a boast. All beings strive for nothingness at the most basic level of sentience. However, almost none ever achieve this. Not even I have discarded my ego yet and you stand here and tell me you have? Perhaps you will be a worthy opponent. I shall be waiting in the great lake near here. Take that token as proof of things to come for you. If you still wish to throw your life away so needlessly, return it to my image there. I await your decision.'

He will give you an Eye of Kaiaren and then despawn.

Now head to the Lake of Ill Omen for the final fight of the monk epic. You can find Astral Projection (same form as the Overthere version) on the platform in the lake itself at +765, +860.

When you give the Eye of Kaiaren to the Astral Projection, he despawns. Deep and Vorash will then both spawn, and are very much KOS.

Deep procs Fist of Water, and hits for 170ish. Vorash procs Fist of Mastery, which is a DD and a stun, and hits for around the same as Deep.

Both Deep and Vorash have no items.

Once killed, Vorash says 'Foolish mortal! You think you have defeated me? Now, witness the true power of Rallos Zek!

Xenevorash will then spawn on the platform, regardless of where Vorash dies.

Xenevorash procs Fist of Sentience which is a 500DD and a stun, and hits for 250.

Once he is killed, his death message is:

Xenevorash's corpse shouts 'Grraaaagghhhh!! NOT.. POSSIBLE!

He drops a Demon's Fang.

Finally, head back to Trakanon's Teeth and hand Kaiaren (either form) the Demon's Fang and the "Book of Celestial Fists."

Kaiaren bows his head and breathes a long sigh as if relived of a great weight. He then looks up at you and says, 'I honestly did not believe you could have defeated Vorash. Even though he sought nothing but war and bloodshed, it is a life nonetheless and we must mourn him. I will sew these fangs into magical fist wraps and they shall be yours. Remember Xenevorash. A purpose can be found for every situation and individual. To achieve perfection is to perceive this truth.'

You receive the Celestial Fists.

Tomekeeper Danl is on the balcony on the 2nd floor of the library in Erudin. The library is the building in the center of the first outdoor clearing as you enter from Toxxulia Forest.

Incidentally at level 48 you cannot get the correct text from Lhaeo in TD. He will tell you your skills are more suited to killing beetles. Just a note as at least one of the sources I consulted online said 46 was ok.

Bodi Kibadachi's Celestial Fist Guide says that you must be level 53 to get a response from Lhaeo. This matches my experience. He would not talk to my monk at 52, but would at 53.

Just finished my epic last night. took me a while to post because we headed directly to PoAir after loio kill, BTW congrats Gharknog and Ughbash on final piece of warrior epic and Congrats Nazeek on being one piece closer to epic. Loio went very well I would have to say we had some definate overkill. all the guides out there seemed to be pretty accurate however i believe our 65 wizard was able to get almost all spells to land. as the guides say other spell casters did'nt have as much luck. When I pulled i used resistent disc to hopefully avoid stun during pull through MR however they only got one hit on me during pull with sow and levi, I was also at max trade distance facing shore and started running as soon as turn-in was maden. 62 war immediately started off-tanking vorash with 65 cleric for heals while the rest of us took out deep once deep was down we took out vorash then Xenevorash looted the fangs and blasted off into the sky for warrior epics. all together we had about 10 people for loio I think 3 monks 2 war 2 clr 1 ranger 1 shaman and 1 wizard pretty much all 60 - 65. Just want to say congrats again to the warriors and thank you to eagles, gilchanter, and my tunare family clan of the redmoon

I am almost absolutely sure you can do this in fact if your monk has RoWF and immortals from skyfire someone else can turn in demon fang wich is off of final mob in loio and then you can turn in "book of the celestial fists" and get your epic. I say almost absolutely sure becaue i got all the items my self with the help of some good friends and therefore have not tried to MQ this myself. Theoretically you should be able to have anyone turn the breath into sleeping ogre and then loot trunt with monk after kill for the head, again though I have not personally done this myself so can not make any garuntee's. Also, most guides say "a sleeping ogre" is kos, he is no longer kos so take your time to clear the mobs in that room and mobs in the room to the right when you are facing him (where he will run if you dont root) BE CAREFUL not to aggro "a sleeping ogre" before turn in. Hope this helps

Final Battles and Info
# Aug 26 2004 at 10:25 PM Rating: Decent
Ok just got done with this (final battle) part of my epic this evening. heres the scoop all in one post so u dont have to read a thousand threads just to get the info. Mind u these kills were done with a group of 4 (lvl 65 pally 100ish aa, lvl 65 druid 100ish aa, lvl 65 sk, 25 aa, lvl 65 chanter 90+ aa, and me lvl 60 monk, 8 aa, all with NON-Elemental gear, just standard gear most 60+ folks have honestly).
OK onto the meat: Deep + Vorash fight- easy. Both cannot be slowed by a chanter. Hit pretty wimpy, only proc thats annoying is vorash, his stun is resistable with high MR. so no biggie there. Deep is also pretty easy, SK took the Deep Pally took Vorash. both went down in about 3 min (maybe less, but is was quick).
Xenevorash- Easy there too for us. Still chanter couldn't slow or nuke due to high MR. Stun lasts for 30 seconds, he cons even to 65. Hits for around 200-250 stun procs for about 500, less or nil with high MR. Quick fight as well, under 5 min.
Over all this can be done with one group of 60+. Druid never went oom, and nukes were flying all over from her. pally had a little prob with xene stun and aggro keeping (cuz of 30 sec stun ONLY at start of fight tho). If u are one who wants a slow try a shammy. chanters are essential for this fight due to Haste (VQ), MR, and VoQ. Pet helped with DPS so its all good in the end. If u are fighting in PoV, or PoS and your group is having no probs... these fights will be cake for ya.
As far as order goes: you can do any of the 2 legs (robe being on leg, elemental fights being other leg) of this quest in any order. i have my demon fangs already, and still haven't done the turn-in with Brother in DL. So, i still have to camp for both flutes (KC and Chardok). U do have to do the legs in the order they are intended, but u can do either of them at any time. just know what to say to who. Oh, yah i tried to bypass trunt and just say i am the one with the Astral Projection in OT, but he didn't fall for it lol. Another point, if AP is up in OT, u dont have to go visit Deep in LR. just go give him trunts head for his eye. only reason y most had to do the hand in with Kaiaren in TT before starting on the element fights, is so they knew where to go next... anyway, good luck and i hope this helps ya out. Looking forward to getting my flutes soon =)
Member folks, this was done with an ordinary group with not so extrodinary gear. Happy hunting. =)

I don't have much experience in MQ'ing quest so don't know if this works. Can you have one person turn in the first pipe someone else turn in the second pipe then you turn in the ROLC? Sounds like it would work to me. Please let me know would hate to try then have to camp Raster and all that crap again LOL.

Just finished the last part of the Monk Epic playing both a 65 Shadowknight and Cleric. Eejag, Gwan, Trunt, Deep, Vorash, and Xenevorash. The hardest part was tanking both Deep and Vorash at the same time. I was a little afraid to try Xenevorash duoed because of his 500DD proc but as it turns out he doesnt have a DD proc at all, just a long duration stun.
True Spirit
# Mar 08 2004 at 6:42 AM Rating: Default
Well since I can't remember anymore, was true spirit faction used in the monk epic? and if so it probably can never be raised again correct?
Question..
# Mar 01 2004 at 10:46 AM Rating: Decent
Can you skip turning the Eejag scales into the guy at TT? (Meaning, I dont want to hand my robe over yet, etc) Can I just skip letting him check my scales, and proceed to PoSky?
RE: Question..
# May 31 2004 at 12:42 PM Rating: Decent
I think you can, but if not it wasn't hard getting the scales, just say something to the fire spirt, not much of a loss can easily do it again.

This isn't regarding multi-questing. MQing works, but I've never really trusted it.

None of the epic handins require you to be a monk to complete, nor do you have to have the Robe of the Whistling Fists (meaning a monk can keep the robe until upgrading to the epic itself). I solo'd Eejag with a 65 cleric to see if I could, and had no problems spawning Gwan by turning in the scale in PoSky. I brought my 65 enchanter along as well, and duo'd him in the windmill with no problem using her animation for DPS since spells didn't land. Gwan enrages at 10%, so don't fall asleep during the fight. He does not run, and nothing else agros.

I checked Nurga for the sleeping ogre, and ran the duo over there to charm and do the turnin. Trunt seemed to hit a little faster than the previous two, but with the enchanter present, I charmed a goblin rogue (goblins in the area are right around level 45) and brought him down fairly quickly. At 10% Trunt ran east. Since his magic resistance is so high, I wouldn't rely on snare - just clear the hallway going up before engaging Trunt first (or clear the surrounding area; he shouldn't get too far). I failed to do this and had three adds by the time he died, which isn't a problem at 65 but could be deadly for a 50s group. Nothing in Nurga saw through invisibility.

The projection in OT is a non-fight encounter, and I had no problems getting the eye from that handin as a cleric. The enchanter mezzed all of the scorpions that agro'd during the handin, and we gated out. If you have good outpost faction - which the cleric doesn't - they won't agro at all.

Since I don't like multiquesting, and my monk and enchanter are on the same account, I moved the monk into LoIO before running over there. If you look at an overhead view of the lake, there is a triangular shaped peninsula on the east side of the lake where I camped my monk. The Astral Projection spawns west of the triangle's point, and I set up on the point to engage. I asked a level 65 shaman friend to help with this next part since I didn't know how well I could channel heals through two proccing creatures hitting me. She tanked Vorash while I took Deep. She brought her level 65 wizard bot, but had a hard time landing anything.

Deep and Vorash are roughly equivalent to Trunt as far as damage goes. Deep's proc stripped Speed of the Shissar from the cleric as well, so be prepared for this. Both ran at 10% health. Deep ran towards the goblin ruins, and Vorash ran towards the Firiona Vie zone line along the lake shore - the paths may not be set, and it probably changes depending on where they hit 10%. Deep didn't seem to summon, but Vorash most definitely does (healing the shaman and pulling agro made this obvious).

Xenevorash spawned where the projection was, and hits considerably harder. He is level 65. At 200+ in all resistances, his stun landed frequently. Having more than one tank may be a good idea in case one gets stunned and loses agro. He runs at 10%, and ran towards the FV zone line like Vorash did. He is snarable, but it took several attempts for the wizard to get it to land. If you can tank an unslowed raven in Plane of Nightmare, this mob should be easy. Don't let the level 65 con scare you.

I camped the chanter, logged in the monk, and looted the demon fang to avoid having to MQ for the final handin.

While farming bile on my rogue I saw the sprite getting its butt kicked by a fire elemental.

Just a tip if you are trying to find this thing.

I killed the elemental and triggered eejag for the hell of it :P

Not trying to brag, but at level 35 with a fungi, half-decent weapons, maybe 1400hp unbuffed, I can solo the camp. Granted, only 1 mino at a time, maybe 2 if they're weak, but still doable.

i did this camp at lvl 51 and had a hard time doing it, the minos will kick your butt while killing the raster when he spawns, if i didn't have virtue up i just stayed FD and did the 3 spawns in 1 EQ day thing till he spawned. i found the best way to do this camp is to just watch some good movies and keep an eye on your spawn. only took about 8 hrs of camping to get him to spawn, the last 3 hrs was in one night when i got him to spawn.

I did this camp from 35 til about 42 on my monk. Not just way ubertwinked or anything, fungi and cowl of mortality for haste, copper hammer and zekhas katar. Max your fd skill, breaking it at first is a little slow, but other than that, it's pie. The regen helped it out tremendously.

Are other tanks allowed to fight with you? Even just pets? And healers, are they allowed? Or are you supposed to fight with honor, alone?
ok

Ok here's updated info on it. I did the entire fighting part of the monk epic without giving away any robes. All you need is to say "i challenge eejag" to a fire sprite in lavastorm and that's how you start it. Each item the guys drop is the spawn item for the next one. So basically do the robe, get pipes and make it the haste song robe, do each epic fight (1 full group with 2 tanks/2 healers took xenovorash and friends easily) and have the demon fang, and then once you have both of those completed you link them together by getting the "Immortal" book in skyfire and doing the rest of the hand ins. Hope this helps someone...

PS- Buying Chardok and KC pipe MQ on Ayonae Ro, send a tell to Liveye or me. :p

Ok my monk has had his Robe of the Lost Circle for a while and I've been searching for the pipes or someone to MQ them. I need to know do you get the Robe back once you hand it to the guy or is there anyway to fight the mobs in the epic without turning the robe in first? I really think it would be cruddy if a fight gone bad on any one of these epic parts would result in my monk having to spend 33 more hours camping raster and all the lower crap I had to kill for it.

When you hand the robe and the 2 pipes, you will get a new robe with instant click haste effect. The new robe is : Robe of the whistling fists.

You can kill Eejag first and i think thats the only one. You need to turn in the robe to continue the epic stepts.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 02 2003 at 2:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok I have done 3 of the fights now and as info to anyone you can do all monk epic fights and get the final dragon fang piece without ever getting your first headband. Eejag just needs to be spawned by "i challenge eejag" phrase to a fire sprite in lavastorm and from then on the pieces they drop move the kill parts of the epic themselves. I certainly see why so many monks buy MQ of Chardok and KC pipes, they truly are about the only things stopping me from getting the epic atm.
Big Thanks

Are the shackle quest a must for an iky monk to get his/her epic?

No, the shackles are a completely different quest from the monk epic, although that does seem to be a widely held belief.

It's probably due to the fact that the monk epic requires a "Robe of the Whistling Fists", while the end result of the shackle quests is a weapon named "Whistling Fists".

I hope that helps you out.
