- In Kedge Keep, a harbinger of the seas can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Phinigel Autropos.
- In Dreadlands, a harbinger of frost can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Gorenaire.
- In Skyfire Mountains, a harbinger of flame can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Talendor.

Full Walkthrough

Power of the Orb

Rykas is a gnome in a yellow robe in Lake Rathetear, who may be found at approximately +950, -650.

You say, 'Hail, Rykas'

Rykas says 'Greetings ______, I am Rykas, chronicler of knowledge. I have journeyed all throughout the lands of Norrath, and I have learned many tales of adventure from people I have encountered during my travels. I have learned of legends known and unknown to most mortals. Are you in search of knowledge?'

You say, 'I am in search of knowledge.'

Rykas says 'A small task is needed if you wish to learn more. Do you wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot.'

Rykas says, 'If you seek to learn the tale of Trilith Magi'kot, your journey shall begin in the Commonlands. Search for Jahsohn Ak'sot and give him this token. He will share some of the knowledge I have bestowed upon him, and point you further down your path to Mastery. Bring me the Words of Mastery, Power of the Elements, and the Words of Magi'kot....Then you shall learn more about the power of the orb.'

You receive a Token of Mastery.

Words of Magi`kot

Now find Jahsohn Ak`sot (note slightly different spelling) in the western Commonlands, who wanders in the general vicinity of +60, +3640.

You say, 'Hail, Jahsohn Ak`sot'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Greetings, ______.'

Give him the token.

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'What is this? I cannot believe you found it! Where did you get this?'
You gain experience!!

You say, 'Rykas sent me.'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'I have not heard of anyone speaking that name out loud in years. Rykas once shared a tale with me, though I have lived with fear in my mind ever since. He told me afterwards that I did not have the balance I thought I had. Have you come for the Words of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come for the Words of Magi'kot.'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'The Words of Magi'kot can only be shared with those elementalists whose minds are of balance. The Words were separated into three pieces by a high council of Magi who feared that the story would bring an end to elementalists throughout Norrath. If you feel you wish to read from the sacred Power of the Orb then an elementalist of such power should easily accomplish this task.'

You say, 'What task?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Bring me the torn pages of Magi'kot. The first section can be found in the depths of a tainted forest, warded by an angry lupine. It is also rumored that one section is found in the haunted estate of a murderer, on a many armed creature. The last may be found in the belly of an amphibian who thirsts for blood.'

You now need Torn Page(s) of Magi`kot pg. 1-3. Page 1 drops in Kithicor Forest from the level 40 Enraged Dread Wolf or dread wolf that spawns at night. Page 2 drops in the Estate of Unrest from the tentacle terrors and dark terrors found in the basement. Page 3 drops in Lower Guk from bloodthirsty ghouls and the frenzied ghoul. Give all three words to Jahsohn.

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Have you forgotten something, ______?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Have you forgotten something, ______?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Rykas may have been right about you, ______. Now, go find Walnan. Walnan was apprenticed to a very powerful Mage. After her apprenticeship was complete, she wished to begin teaching other beings of Norrath. Even those who knew nothing of the art! I do not believe she was successful, though. Seek her out to further your tale. Good luck in your journeys, ______!'

You receive the Words of Magi`kot.

Power of the Elements

Now find Walnan, a female high elf in purple in the Butcherblock Mountains. She wanders the path from the docks to Kaladim.

You say, 'Hail, Walnan'

Walnan says 'Hallo ______! I am Walnan, elementalist, summoner, wanderer, and sometimes teacher. Might you be a elementalist in search of the truth?'

You say, 'I am in search of the truth.'

Walnan says 'The truth is something not all people can handle or understand. If the truth of the elements is what you seek then the Power of the Elements shall reveal all. Have you come to learn of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come to learn of Magi'kot.'

Walnan says 'Magi'kot was the most powerful elementalist of his age. He may have been the most powerful mortal mage of all time, such was his mastery. He wished to obtain infinite knowledge and wisdom in order to further expand the arcane art of Summoning. Do you know what became of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'No.'

Walnan says 'Only a few elementalists and followers outside our circle know what truly happened to Magi'kot. Even now, many are fearful to speak of his name. If you truly wish to continue, here is what you must do. Gather the Power of the Earth, warded by a fae creature. Then seek the Power of Fire, held by an elemental. Next you will need the Power of Wind, held by a twirling and prancing wanderer who has been corrupted. Finally, the Power of Water, held by a ravenous beast who is the minion of a fallen Sarnak. Bring them all to me, and I shall give you the Power of the Elements.'

The Power of Earth drops from A Fairy Guard in Lesser Faydark. The Power of Fire drops from blazing elementals and lava elementals in Solusek A, aka Solusek's Eye. The Power of Wind drops from A Gypsy Dancer in Mistmoore Castle, found in the ballroom of the castle. The Power of Water drops from various mobs in Kaesora. Give all four to Walnan.

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'The arcane art of Summoning is derived from the power of the elements which surround us. Continue your journey across the Ocean of Tears. In a dark fortress, you should find Akksstaf lurking about. Be wary, but tell him that you seek Magi'kot. Hurry now ______, you do not wish to miss the ship!'
You gain experience!!

You receive Power of the Elements.

Words of Mastery

The dark fortress Walnan spoke of is Najena, whose entrance is found in the Lavastorm Mountains. Akksstaff is a male dark elf in a green-brown robe who wanders Najena. He has a relatively long spawn time of anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days.

You say, 'Hail, Akksstaff'

Akksstaff says 'What do you want?! Foolish Human, I am in no mood to treat with beggars. I have half a mind to turn Jobober here loose on you! Well, don't keep me waiting, state your business or be off with you!'

You say, 'Tell me about Magi'kot.'

Akksstaff says 'Ah, that I can help you with. Magi'kot was a powerful elementalist, able to control the power of the elements which surrounded him. He was not able to fully master the elements when I was learning from him, but soon after my departure I heard rumors that he was going after the Orb of Mastery. At the time, I did not feel he was ready to harness all the elements, but Magi'kot listened to no one. He was in search of power beyond any held by a mortal. Do you wish to hear more?'

You say, 'I wish to hear more.'

Akksstaff says 'Then bring me the torn pages of Mastery, there are four pages that can be found upon the women In this keep, though have a care, Najena's followers guard her treasures carefully, and delight in punishing trespassers.'

The four pages drop randomly off various magicians, goblin magicians, Rathyl, Rathyl Incarnate (spawned after Rathyl is killed), etc., and may be found throughout Najena. Gather all four and give them to Akksstaff.

Akksstaff says 'Very well. Take these words back to that shriveled old gnome, Rykas, if you wish to complete this quest. Now leave me, ______, it sickens me to be this cordial for so long. And Jobober needs exercise. Go!'

You receive Words of Mastery.

Power of the Orb

Return to Rykas in Lake Rathetear, and give him Words of Magi`kot, Power of the Elements, and Words of Mastery.

Rykas says 'I see that you have completed the quest I laid before you. That speaks well of your dedication, yet you do not realize your journey has just begun. Study this tome.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Power of the Orb, which reads as follows:

"An elementalist's power comes from the Orb of Mastery. The Elements of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water are contained within the orb. The Master of Elements holds the Orb.

"He can be found within the Plane of Sky. No mortal has been able to contain the true power of the Orb.

"Trilith Magi'kot presented himself to the Master of Elements and the Orb of Mastery. The power of elements brought agony to his mind and body. Magi'kot was not of Balance.

"Fire burned his eyes unto blindness, Wind put his mind into a spin, Earth entered his body and aged him like the mountains, and finally, Water washed his memories of mortal life away.

"Failing his test, the Orb exacted its terrible price, and now Magi'kot is part of the Orb.

"The bearer of this tome should seek out the Master of Fire and present it to him, for there is much left to be revealed."

Element of Fire

The Master of Fire is Jennus Lyklobar, who may be found in Skyfire Mountains.

You say, 'Hail, Jennus Lyklobar'

Jennus Lyklobar says 'Hello and well met! Humans like you don't often come here.. Do you come seeking what I possess? Fire, fire, fire and fire is mine! I surround myself with fire, I bathe in fire, I consume fire, I am the Master of Fire! Hahahaha, but I digress. Have you come for the element of Fire, seeking to fall to the same fate as Trilith Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come for the element of Fire.'

Jennus Lyklobar says 'The Element of Fire I can provide you, but you must prove you are able to contain its power. Bring me the Torch of the Elements now kept by a doomed lord of merchants, the burning embers from a notable member of wurmkind who can be found a short journey from here and a blazing wand, which you should be familiar with. And you must surrender the tome Rykas gave you. But I think you would be happier if you stayed with me and learned more of the beauty of the one true element, FIRE! FIRE! Hahahahahahah!'

Obtain the following items: Torch of the Elements (dropped by Neh`Ashirr in City of Mist), Burning Embers (dropped by Phurzikon, Nezekezena, or Gylton, named wurms in Burning Woods), and Blazing Wand (dropped by Undertow in Kedge Keep). Give these three items along with Power of the Orb to Jennus.

Jennus Lyklobar says 'I see that you are well versed in the ways of Fire. Indeed, if you are as adept in the other, lesser elements, you may just seize the Orb of Mastery after all, and avoid Magi'kot's fate. Take this element, and guard it well, for more trials are to come, I assure you. Succeed and you shall be remembered always! Oh, and ______? Watch out for the puddles! HAHAHAHAHAHA!'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Fire.

Element of Earth

Seek out Tiblner Mil`nik in Firiona Vie. He's a male high elf in a brown robe wandering near the cliff.

You say, 'Hail, Tiblner Mil`nik'

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Huh? What? Oh, you speak so fast, it took me a moment. I have become used to the slow and stately conversation the Earth holds, where a thought can span aeons. I am the Master of Earth, you know. Though I'm usually too humble to say this, that makes me the most powerful mortal in Norrath, as everyone knows that Earth is the only REAL Element, all else must give way before its power. Water is absorbed by it, Air is ignored by it, and Fire is contained in it. But you know all these things, I am sure. Are you interested in obtaining the Element of Earth? I know Magi'kot was, but we know what happened to him, don't we?'

You say, 'I have come for the element of earth.'

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Combining the following items can bring the Element of Earth together. Obtain the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth, held by the minions of the Prince of Hate, The Dirt of Underfoot found on Slix something or the other, and of course, I shall need the Broom of Trilon and the Shovel of Ponz. Bring all these things, and I shall show you what a true Master of Earth can do, and gift you with the Element of Earth.'

The Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth is an uncommon drop from one of the mini-bosses in the Plane of Hate, Magi P`Tasa. Dirt of Underfoot is a rare drop from Slixin Klex in the Burning Woods. The Broom of Trilon and Shovel of Ponz are the results of quests available through the Temple of Solusek Ro. Give all four items to Tiblner.

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Take this Element and keep it with you. I wish you the best in your journey, but I must ask you to leave me now, this frantic pace you set makes me nervous.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Earth.

Element of Water

Find Jinalis Andir, an erudite female in blue robes at approximately -600, -2000 in Dagnor's Cauldron.

You say, 'Hail, Jinalis Andir'

Jinalis Andir says 'Let us dispense with pleasantries, ______. I am Jinalis, as you know. I imagine you want to control the Elements. The Element of Water, which I possess, is the most powerful of the Elements. With it you can control the water which falls from the Air, erodes the Earth, and extinguishes Fire. It is a pity you do not focus on the Prime Element, but if you wish to follow that fool Magi'kot to your doom, I will not stop you. Bring me the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water held by the last of the Kedge, the Tears of Erollisi held by a dirty and rotten officer across the Blessed Deep, and finally, the Rain of Karana, found on a mighty Giant in, where else, the Karanas.'

The Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water is a rare drop from Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep. Rain of Karana drops every time from Tarbul Earthstrider in Eastern Karana. He has a placeholder of "a rogue lion." Tears of Erollisi drop from Captain Rottgrime at the outpost in The Overthere. Give the three items to Jinalis.

Jinalis Andir says 'You have the control needed in order to manipulate the water which surrounds us. Take this Element and guard it well, you will need it in the times to come.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Water.

Element of Wind

Find Kihun Solstin, a human male in white in the quest room below the first island in the Plane of Sky.

You say, 'Hail, Kihun Solstin'

Kihun Solstin says 'So, you have made it this far. I am Kihun Solstin, the Master of Wind. I control the unfettered Element like none other. As you should have learned, Air is the most potent of Elements. It fuels Fire, Water is comprised of it, and Earth cannot restrain it. Knowing this, do you seek the Element of Wind?'

You say, 'I seek the element of Wind.'

Kihun Solstin says 'I will test you then. In this wondrous plane of Air [editor's note: now Sky], find the Crown of Elemental Mastery, and search the world below for an Elemental Binder, and a cloak fashioned from the feathers of a Pegusus. Return them to me and I shall give you the Element of Wind.'

The Crown of Elemental Mastery is a rare drop from any mob on the seventh island in the Plane of Sky. Elemental Binders drop from Elemental Warriors in The Hole. The Pegasus Feather Cloak is a very rare drop from a rare spawn, Quillmane, found in Southern Karana. By all accounts this is the most difficult piece to get. Give the three items to Kihun.

Kihun Solstin says 'If you have obtained the other, lesser Elements, go speak with The Master of Elements, who is now waiting for you. I wish you luck. If you have not completed all the tasks set for you, let me know, and I shall let you see the Master.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Wind.

Orb of Mastery

After receiving the Element of Wind, Master of Elements will spawn in the Plane of Sky. If for some reason he has despawned, you can always get him to respawn by talking to Kihun Solstin and saying, "I want to see the master."

You say, 'Hail, Master of Elements'

Master of Elements says 'I... am... the... Master... of... Elements.. Elements... Forgive... me. I am... unaccustomed.. to.. speaking.. this.. mortal... tongue. Might.. you... be... the... One?'

You say, 'I am the One'

Master of Elements says 'Trilith... Magi'kot.. knelt.. before.. the.. orb.. in.. his.. his.. last.. few.. moments... of.. mortal.. life. He... too... believed.. that.. he.. had.. the.. power.. and.. balance.. needed.. to.. grasp... control.. of.. the.. elements. He.. was.... flawed. Coming.. to... me... is.. a.. matter.. of.. no.. small.. import. Only.. only... one.. who.. is.. of.. balance.. and.. power... power.. may.. control.. the.. Orb.. of... Mastery. Give.... give.. me.. the.. Elements.. you.. have... gathered.. and.. I.. shall.. see.. if.. you.. are.. ready.. ready.. to control.. the... Elements.. of... life.. life.. life.'

Give it the Element of Fire, the Element of Earth, the Element of Water, and the Element of Wind.

Master of Elements says 'You... are.. balanced... and.. powerful.. for.. a.. mortal... ______ ..... ______ . More.. so.. than.... Magi'kot. But.... you.. are.. not.. yet.. ready.. to.. transcend.. transcend... this.. mortal.. coil. Take.. take.. seize.. this.. Orb... for.. you.. are.. worthy.. of.. reward.. and.. with... the.. aid.. of... the... balance.. balance.. contained.. within.. the.. Orb.. you.. may.. yet.. reach.. the... ultimate... Mastery.'

You receive Spell: Summon Orb. Scribe it immediately and cast it to summon your new epic weapon, the Orb of Mastery.

While helping out a few guild mate I found a little gnome mage called "A GNomish Mage" in a small prison.

He was located past teh double doors and down teh end of teh corridor on your right in the last room before you exit out to the round open area on the way to the brown temple.

He did not answer to any hails and just stood there doing nothing.

Im not sure if hes part of the mage quest but i dont remeber there being an imprisoned gnome in CT before.

A guild mate was in Lfay when he said what hes says to be a "unicorn" who was red and KoS to him (a Orge War) He also said a lvl 57 friend of his conned him, and he was red.
Dont know if this is helpful, but wouldn't want anyone to turn in there very hard to get Pegaisis(sp) cloaks, without checkin this out first.

Killed the unicorn. Had no drop. Responded to hails with a long emote. Had some nasty faction.

I have also seen a named unicorn in Lfay before. That was a long long time ago though. Name was Equestriel, or something like that. And she is a unicorn, not a pegasus. If that is the unicorn he say (and I bet it was), then it is not new and probably has nothing to do with any of the epic quests.

Equestrielle is a completely different mob.

The new mob is a unicorn as well, and like you said, unicorns are not pegasi. To put things in perspective, a pegasus is a winged horse and a unicorn is a horned horse.

I just had an idea that verant may have been truly cruel to us mages, but maybe every week najena will have different pages, or some kind of change in the zone over time enabling us to eventually do the quest. Just a crazy thought but you never know
Anyone try the Female SK in Befallen

I am not very familiar with druids, so thar is probably a stupid idea.. Did anyone with a high forage skill tried foraging in Najena? Even if it's possible to forage in a dungeon i would doubt it could provide us the pages though.. they're supposed to drop of 'women int his keep'...
Besides that, i have been looking for Walnyn a lot withut geting his pet on track. As she doesn't reappear after a repop of the zone i wondered if she could be triggered by completing the quest with Jasohn in WC. Could any of the people that found walnyn mention it if they happened to have completed jasohn's quest not long before?

hmm.. no pages but the page of elemental mastery: water, but everyones saying that there are other odd things, rat ears, rat whiskers, bat fur, etc... well, the quest giver says that the followers of najena guard thier treasures carefully.. has anyone tried having these odd yet seemingly worthless drops identified? im not even a magician, but after seeing this mentioned so many times and no mention of trying to identify, yet verant claiming the quest isnt broken, thought id drop the idea, who knows? maybe im right.

Actually, I used to hunt in Najena before these quests were implemented. The weird item drops have always been there. Stuff like this also drops in other weird places, like in Solusek A.

Heh i had the sameidea so i indentified all the items i got that i didn't remeber to drop in Najena before. That is : russet oxyde, drop of mercury, smal block of ore etc.. They're just what their name says. The torn page of mastery : Water identifies as Torn page of mastery 4. So nothing new that part of the quest seems broken.. Just answering hehe.

Is teh mage Quest too hard? (Read this)
# Sep 24 2000 at 7:27 PM Rating: Default
Is it just me or is the mage FA Quest not only the longest but also the hardest and the most costly of all the Quests so far.

Here are are some examples of what is required to do the quest.

Staff of Elemental Mastey:Water

Task:Requires you to kill Phingle

Difficulty:(Medium) Not that hard with 3 full groups of 55ish players.

Staff of Elemental Mastery:Earth

Taks:Requires break the plane of FEAR and to kill an as yet unkown mob for the staff

Difficulty:(Hard) Breaking Fear requires either a very large guild or a couple small ones, Also the problem of having to Roll fo the staff with every other mage in FEAR.

Pegasus Feather Cloak

Task: Kill a level 30+ flying pegasus

Difficulty:(Pure luck) Spawns randomly in a very large zone and rarely drops the Cloak even when killed.

Crown of air mastery

Task:Reach Island 7 in the Plane of air and kill a Sphinx

Difficulty:(Extreme) Takes at least 6 full groups of level 55 players over 2 days to reach this far into AIR

Not to mention that you have to kill Captain Rottgrime in The Overthere a named Wyrm in Burning woods and kill an unkown mob in the hart of the HOLE.

To do the mage quest you will need not only a very large guild willing to spend 3 days of there life in the plane of Air but also an extreme piece of luck to get the pegasus cloak.

I agree that it should require total dedication to complete the new FA quest but no matter how hard u try unless your in an Uber Guild you have zero chance of completing this quest.

I just saw that the rouges have manged to do there FA quest, Congrats to them and I noticed that they only needed 4 major items:

SMR
Robe of the Kedge
Robe of the Ishva
Oracle Robe

Well SMR can be camped with a samll group or bought for about 8-9k pp.

Ishva can be camped by 1 group of 55's is a little harder to camp than SMR but can also be bought for 20-25k pp

Kedge requires the death of Phingle again, so mages and rouges have this in common, its no drop but can be camped with 3 groups.

Oracle is easy to get and cheap to buy at about 500-800pp on my server.

The Pegasus cloak is worth more than all these robe put together, I have seen people offer up to 50k pp to loot the Pegasus cloak and now its part of the mage quest your proberbly looking at 200+k pp to have this item!

I simply think that the quest is impossible to do without being in a guild that has 40 level 55+ players which makes it unfair to the magician class.

PS:I have a pegasus cloak but I will never get the new Focus staff as no one on my server has even been to island 7 in air yet and my guild is not big enough to even attempt the plane of AIR!

This may be true, but how much more powerful are magicians over rogues? I mean, magicians are able to summon and control their own ROGUES! So by that theory, this quest should be 4 times harder than any other quest..hehehe.
Maybe some twisted person thought that magicians had finally had enough of being "soloable" and are now forcing magicians to group with people..muahahha.

how about stop complaining until you see what item we actually get in the end...

and there seems to be some misunder standing, none of the quests are supposed to be completed by alot of players, only ppl who REALLY put the efford into it...

but until we mages see what we get,. i dont think its fair to ***** about the quest.and besides, whats the fun in completing the quest too fast ? i love getting up in the morning to check the msg. boards to see if any1 found new answers to our quest, but when its all done (hehe way into the future for me) and we're lv 60, what then ? then we want more quests, more more more, but god forbid they are too hard :)

Most of the mage quest can be done but certain parts like the killing of the sphinx on island 7 Require about 50 people to complete lasting for more than a day I hear.

There are 3 maybe 4 guilds on my server that have enough high level players to get this item but im not in any of them, im in a small guild that has about 30 members and we can put together about 2 level 45-55 groups.

What im a little upset with is the fact that only mages in the 1 or 2 big guilds will be able to do this part of the quest.

The big guilds on my server only do these raids with there own guild members, they rarely let anyone join them so there is no way even if I joined them for the raid that I would get a crown as they would go to the guild mages first.

after reading on the rogue quest again, i must say, either the rogue quest is WAY too easy, OR the other classes get a weap with is supeior in every aspect to that of the rogues.. but IF that isnt so, i think eveyboy has a right to /petition

(which im most certainly is gonna do)

but what if the rogue weapon isnt the final one ?
but only part of the quest?? the picture is bad, and they forgot to turn on particle effect (i assume that our new uber weapons all have some nice effects) .....

I talked to one of my friends on the Test server, he says that mages get a staff that looks like a duck and summons a pet that casts all 4 of the mage pets spells Stun Root Fire and water DD's has all 4 textures and has a lot more HP than a normal pet.
Maybe...
# Sep 24 2000 at 9:39 PM Rating: Decent
I'll agree that the quest is hard and that there are several large encounters and obstacles one must endure to actually complete it. The thing is, before you can compare it to other classes quests, we have to see what the final product is first. Our item may be FAR superior to any other item from any other quest, in which case, it's completely fair that our quest is much longer and much harder. Just my opinion, but wait to see what the item is before you start to whine.

well in that case we're f'ed ... that pet is gonna be useless.. in a dungeon i hardly think ppl will let you use a pet that roots, unless the root sticks and lasts until the mob is dead, no matter how hard you blast or hit it.... so i hope varent didnt make that mistake..

I completely agree. I don't want a pet that does all four spells. I would much rather have a pet that throws no spells! Looks like mages end up on the short end of the Staff again.

Torn Pages

I found Water last night pretty easily, and finally got my fire gem (The ratio of kill:drop btw was 74:2). I killed every magician, every goblin magician, and most of the named every time. I have not heard of any other than water. I wonder a few things:

1) If indeed water also drops in CT, perhaps the others do as well, as has been stated by others. I can confirm that it is NOT in Sol A (trust me, nearly spent a day online time in there)

2) Perhaps the torn pages are rare drops only on the named, or a quest is required from them to get pages.

3)It was suggested by someone that all the pages are mistakenly labeled water.

in buthcer block mountains there is a female NPC mage , i saw her between the docks and the graveyard. she is hard to get anything out of but she goes on to talk about the truth of elementalists or something like that, i at this point got stuck and os left it, however i think this could be the beginning of the quest, she talks about the secret powers and more. go look for yourself....now GO

Torn Pages / broken ?!
# Sep 24 2000 at 12:24 PM Rating: Decent
Since we all already know that the 'Torn Page of Mastery Water' drops off of Mages in Najena, let us think about something. It's a dungeon, low to mid lvl. I am thinking of the other drops that could be found eventually in CT (Water HAS been found there) as well as Solusek A or Splitpaw. I haven't yet seen someone here mention about Splitpaw, when it comes up to Torn Pages. I'm for time being camping the Eles in Sol A for the Power of Fire, will then go to Splitpaw to check out.

And these Torn Pages are rare, you bet. =)

Hope we'll get it soon =)

While attempting to get my Power of Fire, I spent quite a bit of time in Sol A. I'm fairly confident that the pages aren't dropping there.

As for Splitpaw, I occasionally go there to check for the Ishva. I killed a bunch of stuff there earlier today and found nothing. Has anyone tried Permafrost or Runnyeye?

Logic would dictate that if a page did drop there then it would be water.

I know logic doesnt apply to verant all the time but these quests seem pretty well thought out.

It seems that this may be what you are looking for... Power of Wind, Lore Item, No Drop....

Kinda makes sence where it came from.... I found this one in Castle Mistmoore, looted off a Gypsy...

Now you mages have the mobs for all 4 elements... goodluck......

Could be possible that she's a completely random spawn and that she only stays up for a certain amount of time or until someone turns in the quest items. Took me about a day and a half to find her after acquiring all four items, even with the help of trackers, so it may be possible that after being up for six hours or something, she depops. Don't really know.

He was indifferent, but when hail'd basically told me to go to hell(Troll Shadow Knight). He was a Dark Elf but dropped a Gnome only Newbie robe. Hope this helps guys, good luck.

# Sep 24 2000 at 12:27 AM Rating: Default
Hey Guys,
Well if most of you guys are doing this quest you are most likley stuck where I am. The NPC in najena asks for 4 torn pages of mastery. The only page being found on any server is the water page. I have cleared Najena for 2+ days now of every spawn in the zone and I have seen 7 torn pages of water. We are losing time on being the first to finish this quest so please /petition and /bug this problem in game. I also found a post about this here:
http://boards.station.sony.com/everquest/Forum3/HTML/002135.html

Ok thanks for looking and helping guys. Lets hope this gets fixed before it delays us to much.

The rest of the pages do drop off of the mages in najena, either you're not waiting long enough or you are just getting very unlucky. I got the water page first off of a mage it seems to be the most common drop. Next the fire page i got off of a dark bone skeleton, there are quite a few of them there and YES they do drop the pages as well. The wind/air one dropped just minutes later off of a magician (i got pretty lucky). Several hours later i got 2 more water ones, another fire, and FINALLY the earth one dropped. Ran to akksstaff who was chillin underwater and turned them all in; sorry i didn't get screenshots of them but i hope the info helps. My advice to you is to make a fire pet, kill all the mages front to back then go downstairs and kill the ones down there also. FYI the monk dude downstairs also drops pages and so do the goblin magicians (had several water ones drop from them). It's all pretty random, if you're not having any luck just keep plugging away at it, they'll drop. Questions/comments see me on Tarrew Marr, my name is Endymion lvl 50 mage.

Sharing my Pegasus Cloak for the new Quest?
# Sep 23 2000 at 6:00 PM Rating: Default
I am mage that is lucky enough to own a pegasus cloak but after reading how hard it is to get to Island 7 in plane of air I fear I will never own the New focus item.

I could proberbly get both of teh focus staffs now that they took the earth staff of innoruk but I belive the Crown in Air is way out of my reach.

I was wondering though if it is posible to hand in my cloak and someone hand in the rest of the air items so that they may complete the air quest like the way you can share the Jboots quest by you handing in the AC ring and someone handing in the other items after you and they get the Jboots?

If it is posible I might be convinced to help out a fellow mage to complete this new quest, Im not gonna give the cloak up for free but for alot of loot and PP I Might do it and I do mean a LOT!

This may be the only way some mage will be able to complete there quest short of camping SK for 3 months

<Sigh> First I apoligize for no summary of Day 4, there was little to post just the same. I spend 8 hrs doing the blazing elementals in sol A.

First drop took 8 lava elementals (4 complete spawns of 20mins each)
In trying to get the second drop for myself I went thru 52 more elementals over 7 or so hours. I gave up after 60 total elementals.

That is enough trials to say that it is statistically impossible for this to drop MORE than every 10th mob.

The Power of Fire is a very rare drop off of elementals in Sol A. Because of this it is best to camp the Blazing eles since you always get 2 of these every 20 mins. If you want the best chance at this gem, and dont mind killing Green mobs forever, clear everything from the Lava ele to the Blazing ele's. i did this yesterday and got some decent twink loot, Molten cloaks, etc.

Side Note: I still dont have that farking gem

New NPC in najena
# Sep 23 2000 at 10:47 AM Rating: Default
Ok just so you mages know there is a new NPC in najena named "Akksstaff" he is a mage and cons indifferent to me (wierd cause everyone in najena hates me.............so he has nothing to do with najena's faction)
He conned green to me at lvl 43rd and conned blue to my friend at 39th i think he is about lvl 32 or so
well anyway I decided to kill em and got the crap beat out of me he really undercons (sucked had to gate) so I got a friend of ine to help me we killed him with little problem and he dropped crap

Anyway when I killed him I didn't loose anyfaction and after he respawned I hailed him and he said something like "what do you want you little halfling begger"
So if one of you mages wants to check him out maybe he will say something different to you

Location: HE spawn in front of the dark elf picture on the way down to the prison (He does have a earth elemental pet so I know forsure he is a mage)
Good luck all and have fun :)
