Full Walkthrough

Power of the Orb

Rykas is a gnome in a yellow robe in Lake Rathetear, who may be found at approximately +950, -650.

You say, 'Hail, Rykas'

Rykas says 'Greetings ______, I am Rykas, chronicler of knowledge. I have journeyed all throughout the lands of Norrath, and I have learned many tales of adventure from people I have encountered during my travels. I have learned of legends known and unknown to most mortals. Are you in search of knowledge?'

You say, 'I am in search of knowledge.'

Rykas says 'A small task is needed if you wish to learn more. Do you wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot.'

Rykas says, 'If you seek to learn the tale of Trilith Magi'kot, your journey shall begin in the Commonlands. Search for Jahsohn Ak'sot and give him this token. He will share some of the knowledge I have bestowed upon him, and point you further down your path to Mastery. Bring me the Words of Mastery, Power of the Elements, and the Words of Magi'kot....Then you shall learn more about the power of the orb.'

You receive a Token of Mastery.

Words of Magi`kot

Now find Jahsohn Ak`sot (note slightly different spelling) in the western Commonlands, who wanders in the general vicinity of +60, +3640.

You say, 'Hail, Jahsohn Ak`sot'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Greetings, ______.'

Give him the token.

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'What is this? I cannot believe you found it! Where did you get this?'
You gain experience!!

You say, 'Rykas sent me.'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'I have not heard of anyone speaking that name out loud in years. Rykas once shared a tale with me, though I have lived with fear in my mind ever since. He told me afterwards that I did not have the balance I thought I had. Have you come for the Words of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come for the Words of Magi'kot.'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'The Words of Magi'kot can only be shared with those elementalists whose minds are of balance. The Words were separated into three pieces by a high council of Magi who feared that the story would bring an end to elementalists throughout Norrath. If you feel you wish to read from the sacred Power of the Orb then an elementalist of such power should easily accomplish this task.'

You say, 'What task?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Bring me the torn pages of Magi'kot. The first section can be found in the depths of a tainted forest, warded by an angry lupine. It is also rumored that one section is found in the haunted estate of a murderer, on a many armed creature. The last may be found in the belly of an amphibian who thirsts for blood.'

You now need Torn Page(s) of Magi`kot pg. 1-3. Page 1 drops in Kithicor Forest from the level 40 Enraged Dread Wolf or dread wolf that spawns at night. Page 2 drops in the Estate of Unrest from the tentacle terrors and dark terrors found in the basement. Page 3 drops in Lower Guk from bloodthirsty ghouls and the frenzied ghoul. Give all three words to Jahsohn.

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Have you forgotten something, ______?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Have you forgotten something, ______?'

Jahsohn Ak`sot says 'Rykas may have been right about you, ______. Now, go find Walnan. Walnan was apprenticed to a very powerful Mage. After her apprenticeship was complete, she wished to begin teaching other beings of Norrath. Even those who knew nothing of the art! I do not believe she was successful, though. Seek her out to further your tale. Good luck in your journeys, ______!'

You receive the Words of Magi`kot.

Power of the Elements

Now find Walnan, a female high elf in purple in the Butcherblock Mountains. She wanders the path from the docks to Kaladim.

You say, 'Hail, Walnan'

Walnan says 'Hallo ______! I am Walnan, elementalist, summoner, wanderer, and sometimes teacher. Might you be a elementalist in search of the truth?'

You say, 'I am in search of the truth.'

Walnan says 'The truth is something not all people can handle or understand. If the truth of the elements is what you seek then the Power of the Elements shall reveal all. Have you come to learn of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come to learn of Magi'kot.'

Walnan says 'Magi'kot was the most powerful elementalist of his age. He may have been the most powerful mortal mage of all time, such was his mastery. He wished to obtain infinite knowledge and wisdom in order to further expand the arcane art of Summoning. Do you know what became of Magi'kot?'

You say, 'No.'

Walnan says 'Only a few elementalists and followers outside our circle know what truly happened to Magi'kot. Even now, many are fearful to speak of his name. If you truly wish to continue, here is what you must do. Gather the Power of the Earth, warded by a fae creature. Then seek the Power of Fire, held by an elemental. Next you will need the Power of Wind, held by a twirling and prancing wanderer who has been corrupted. Finally, the Power of Water, held by a ravenous beast who is the minion of a fallen Sarnak. Bring them all to me, and I shall give you the Power of the Elements.'

The Power of Earth drops from A Fairy Guard in Lesser Faydark. The Power of Fire drops from blazing elementals and lava elementals in Solusek A, aka Solusek's Eye. The Power of Wind drops from A Gypsy Dancer in Mistmoore Castle, found in the ballroom of the castle. The Power of Water drops from various mobs in Kaesora. Give all four to Walnan.

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Walnan says 'The arcane art of Summoning is derived from the power of the elements which surround us. Continue your journey across the Ocean of Tears. In a dark fortress, you should find Akksstaf lurking about. Be wary, but tell him that you seek Magi'kot. Hurry now ______, you do not wish to miss the ship!'
You gain experience!!

You receive Power of the Elements.

Words of Mastery

The dark fortress Walnan spoke of is Najena, whose entrance is found in the Lavastorm Mountains. Akksstaff is a male dark elf in a green-brown robe who wanders Najena. He has a relatively long spawn time of anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days.

You say, 'Hail, Akksstaff'

Akksstaff says 'What do you want?! Foolish Human, I am in no mood to treat with beggars. I have half a mind to turn Jobober here loose on you! Well, don't keep me waiting, state your business or be off with you!'

You say, 'Tell me about Magi'kot.'

Akksstaff says 'Ah, that I can help you with. Magi'kot was a powerful elementalist, able to control the power of the elements which surrounded him. He was not able to fully master the elements when I was learning from him, but soon after my departure I heard rumors that he was going after the Orb of Mastery. At the time, I did not feel he was ready to harness all the elements, but Magi'kot listened to no one. He was in search of power beyond any held by a mortal. Do you wish to hear more?'

You say, 'I wish to hear more.'

Akksstaff says 'Then bring me the torn pages of Mastery, there are four pages that can be found upon the women In this keep, though have a care, Najena's followers guard her treasures carefully, and delight in punishing trespassers.'

The four pages drop randomly off various magicians, goblin magicians, Rathyl, Rathyl Incarnate (spawned after Rathyl is killed), etc., and may be found throughout Najena. Gather all four and give them to Akksstaff.

Akksstaff says 'Very well. Take these words back to that shriveled old gnome, Rykas, if you wish to complete this quest. Now leave me, ______, it sickens me to be this cordial for so long. And Jobober needs exercise. Go!'

You receive Words of Mastery.

Power of the Orb

Return to Rykas in Lake Rathetear, and give him Words of Magi`kot, Power of the Elements, and Words of Mastery.

Rykas says 'I see that you have completed the quest I laid before you. That speaks well of your dedication, yet you do not realize your journey has just begun. Study this tome.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Power of the Orb, which reads as follows:

"An elementalist's power comes from the Orb of Mastery. The Elements of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water are contained within the orb. The Master of Elements holds the Orb.

"He can be found within the Plane of Sky. No mortal has been able to contain the true power of the Orb.

"Trilith Magi'kot presented himself to the Master of Elements and the Orb of Mastery. The power of elements brought agony to his mind and body. Magi'kot was not of Balance.

"Fire burned his eyes unto blindness, Wind put his mind into a spin, Earth entered his body and aged him like the mountains, and finally, Water washed his memories of mortal life away.

"Failing his test, the Orb exacted its terrible price, and now Magi'kot is part of the Orb.

"The bearer of this tome should seek out the Master of Fire and present it to him, for there is much left to be revealed."

Element of Fire

The Master of Fire is Jennus Lyklobar, who may be found in Skyfire Mountains.

You say, 'Hail, Jennus Lyklobar'

Jennus Lyklobar says 'Hello and well met! Humans like you don't often come here.. Do you come seeking what I possess? Fire, fire, fire and fire is mine! I surround myself with fire, I bathe in fire, I consume fire, I am the Master of Fire! Hahahaha, but I digress. Have you come for the element of Fire, seeking to fall to the same fate as Trilith Magi'kot?'

You say, 'I have come for the element of Fire.'

Jennus Lyklobar says 'The Element of Fire I can provide you, but you must prove you are able to contain its power. Bring me the Torch of the Elements now kept by a doomed lord of merchants, the burning embers from a notable member of wurmkind who can be found a short journey from here and a blazing wand, which you should be familiar with. And you must surrender the tome Rykas gave you. But I think you would be happier if you stayed with me and learned more of the beauty of the one true element, FIRE! FIRE! Hahahahahahah!'

Obtain the following items: Torch of the Elements (dropped by Neh`Ashirr in City of Mist), Burning Embers (dropped by Phurzikon, Nezekezena, or Gylton, named wurms in Burning Woods), and Blazing Wand (dropped by Undertow in Kedge Keep). Give these three items along with Power of the Orb to Jennus.

Jennus Lyklobar says 'I see that you are well versed in the ways of Fire. Indeed, if you are as adept in the other, lesser elements, you may just seize the Orb of Mastery after all, and avoid Magi'kot's fate. Take this element, and guard it well, for more trials are to come, I assure you. Succeed and you shall be remembered always! Oh, and ______? Watch out for the puddles! HAHAHAHAHAHA!'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Fire.

Element of Earth

Seek out Tiblner Mil`nik in Firiona Vie. He's a male high elf in a brown robe wandering near the cliff.

You say, 'Hail, Tiblner Mil`nik'

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Huh? What? Oh, you speak so fast, it took me a moment. I have become used to the slow and stately conversation the Earth holds, where a thought can span aeons. I am the Master of Earth, you know. Though I'm usually too humble to say this, that makes me the most powerful mortal in Norrath, as everyone knows that Earth is the only REAL Element, all else must give way before its power. Water is absorbed by it, Air is ignored by it, and Fire is contained in it. But you know all these things, I am sure. Are you interested in obtaining the Element of Earth? I know Magi'kot was, but we know what happened to him, don't we?'

You say, 'I have come for the element of earth.'

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Combining the following items can bring the Element of Earth together. Obtain the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth, held by the minions of the Prince of Hate, The Dirt of Underfoot found on Slix something or the other, and of course, I shall need the Broom of Trilon and the Shovel of Ponz. Bring all these things, and I shall show you what a true Master of Earth can do, and gift you with the Element of Earth.'

The Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth is an uncommon drop from one of the mini-bosses in the Plane of Hate, Magi P`Tasa. Dirt of Underfoot is a rare drop from Slixin Klex in the Burning Woods. The Broom of Trilon and Shovel of Ponz are the results of quests available through the Temple of Solusek Ro. Give all four items to Tiblner.

Tiblner Mil`nik says 'Take this Element and keep it with you. I wish you the best in your journey, but I must ask you to leave me now, this frantic pace you set makes me nervous.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Earth.

Element of Water

Find Jinalis Andir, an erudite female in blue robes at approximately -600, -2000 in Dagnor's Cauldron.

You say, 'Hail, Jinalis Andir'

Jinalis Andir says 'Let us dispense with pleasantries, ______. I am Jinalis, as you know. I imagine you want to control the Elements. The Element of Water, which I possess, is the most powerful of the Elements. With it you can control the water which falls from the Air, erodes the Earth, and extinguishes Fire. It is a pity you do not focus on the Prime Element, but if you wish to follow that fool Magi'kot to your doom, I will not stop you. Bring me the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water held by the last of the Kedge, the Tears of Erollisi held by a dirty and rotten officer across the Blessed Deep, and finally, the Rain of Karana, found on a mighty Giant in, where else, the Karanas.'

The Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water is a rare drop from Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep. Rain of Karana drops every time from Tarbul Earthstrider in Eastern Karana. He has a placeholder of "a rogue lion." Tears of Erollisi drop from Captain Rottgrime at the outpost in The Overthere. Give the three items to Jinalis.

Jinalis Andir says 'You have the control needed in order to manipulate the water which surrounds us. Take this Element and guard it well, you will need it in the times to come.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Water.

Element of Wind

Find Kihun Solstin, a human male in white in the quest room below the first island in the Plane of Sky.

You say, 'Hail, Kihun Solstin'

Kihun Solstin says 'So, you have made it this far. I am Kihun Solstin, the Master of Wind. I control the unfettered Element like none other. As you should have learned, Air is the most potent of Elements. It fuels Fire, Water is comprised of it, and Earth cannot restrain it. Knowing this, do you seek the Element of Wind?'

You say, 'I seek the element of Wind.'

Kihun Solstin says 'I will test you then. In this wondrous plane of Air [editor's note: now Sky], find the Crown of Elemental Mastery, and search the world below for an Elemental Binder, and a cloak fashioned from the feathers of a Pegusus. Return them to me and I shall give you the Element of Wind.'

The Crown of Elemental Mastery is a rare drop from any mob on the seventh island in the Plane of Sky. Elemental Binders drop from Elemental Warriors in The Hole. The Pegasus Feather Cloak is a very rare drop from a rare spawn, Quillmane, found in Southern Karana. By all accounts this is the most difficult piece to get. Give the three items to Kihun.

Kihun Solstin says 'If you have obtained the other, lesser Elements, go speak with The Master of Elements, who is now waiting for you. I wish you luck. If you have not completed all the tasks set for you, let me know, and I shall let you see the Master.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Element of Wind.

Orb of Mastery

After receiving the Element of Wind, Master of Elements will spawn in the Plane of Sky. If for some reason he has despawned, you can always get him to respawn by talking to Kihun Solstin and saying, "I want to see the master."

You say, 'Hail, Master of Elements'

Master of Elements says 'I... am... the... Master... of... Elements.. Elements... Forgive... me. I am... unaccustomed.. to.. speaking.. this.. mortal... tongue. Might.. you... be... the... One?'

You say, 'I am the One'

Master of Elements says 'Trilith... Magi'kot.. knelt.. before.. the.. orb.. in.. his.. his.. last.. few.. moments... of.. mortal.. life. He... too... believed.. that.. he.. had.. the.. power.. and.. balance.. needed.. to.. grasp... control.. of.. the.. elements. He.. was.... flawed. Coming.. to... me... is.. a.. matter.. of.. no.. small.. import. Only.. only... one.. who.. is.. of.. balance.. and.. power... power.. may.. control.. the.. Orb.. of... Mastery. Give.... give.. me.. the.. Elements.. you.. have... gathered.. and.. I.. shall.. see.. if.. you.. are.. ready.. ready.. to control.. the... Elements.. of... life.. life.. life.'

Give it the Element of Fire, the Element of Earth, the Element of Water, and the Element of Wind.

Master of Elements says 'You... are.. balanced... and.. powerful.. for.. a.. mortal... ______ ..... ______ . More.. so.. than.... Magi'kot. But.... you.. are.. not.. yet.. ready.. to.. transcend.. transcend... this.. mortal.. coil. Take.. take.. seize.. this.. Orb... for.. you.. are.. worthy.. of.. reward.. and.. with... the.. aid.. of... the... balance.. balance.. contained.. within.. the.. Orb.. you.. may.. yet.. reach.. the... ultimate... Mastery.'

You receive Spell: Summon Orb. Scribe it immediately and cast it to summon your new epic weapon, the Orb of Mastery.

Jahsohn Aksot says 'The Words of Magi'kot can only be shared with those elementalists whose minds are of balance. The Words were separated into three pieces by a high council of Magi who feared that the story would bring an end to elementalists throughout Norrath. If you feel you wish to read from the sacred Power of the Orb then an elementalist of such power should easily accomplish this task.

You say, 'what task

Jahsohn Aksot says 'Bring me the torn pages of Magi'kot. The first section can be found in the depths of a tainted forest, warded by an angry lupine. It is also rumored that one section is found in the haunted estate of a murderer, on a many armed creature. The last may be found in the belly of an amphibian who thirsts for blood.

All of the torn pages are NODROP and LORE.

The Torn Page of Magi'Kot 1 can be found off Raged Dreads and Dread Wolves in Kithicor Forest,

The Torn Page of Magi'Kot 2 is found off Dark/Tentacle Terrors in Unrest,

The Torn Page of Magi'Kot 3 is found on Bloodthirsty Frogloks in Lower Guk at the Frenzy spawn.

Hand in all three of these Torn Pages to Jahsohn and you receive the first item Rykas requested, the "Word of Magi’Kot." This item is nodrop/lore.

Jahsohn Aksot says 'Rykas may have been right about you, [Your Name] . Now, go find Walnan. Walnan was apprenticed to a very powerful Mage. After her apprenticeship was complete, she wished to begin teaching other beings of Norrath. Even those who knew nothing of the art! I do not believe she was successful, though. Seek her out to further your tale. Good luck in your journeys, [Your Name]!

Next stop is Butcherblock. Look for Walnan, rumored to be rare because she despawns when her quest is completed. She will give you the quest for the Power of the Elements, which is described below.

Next quest Step begins is in Butcherblock. Seek ‘Walnan’ at approximately LOC - 1177,926 (she wanders the path, use sense summon and follow her pet to her she is fast)

You say, 'hail Walnan'

Walnan says 'Hello [Your Name]! I am Walnan, elementalist, summoner, wanderer, and sometimes teacher. Might you be a elementalist in search of the truth?

You say, 'I am an elementalist in search of the truth'

Walnan says 'The truth is something not all people can handle or understand. If the truth of the elements is what you seek then the Power of the Elements shall reveal all. Have you come to learn of Magi'kot?

You say, 'no'

Walnan says 'Only a few elementalists and followers outside our circle know what truly happened to Magi'kot. Even now, many are fearful to speak of his name. If you truly wish to continue, here is what you must do.

Gather the Power of the Earth, warded by a fae creature,Then Seek the Power of Fire, held by an elemental. Next you will need the Power of Wind, held by a twirling and prancing wanderer who has been corrupted. Finally, the Power of Water, held by a ravenous beast who is the minion of a fallen Sarnak. Bring them all to me, and I shall give you the Power of the Elements.

Notes :

To receive :

The Power of Earth you must slay a Faerie Guards in Lesser Faydark.

The power of Fire can be found as a common drop on the Lava Elemental in SolA and Blazing elements near efetti spawn. (expect to camp for 8+ hours)

The Power of Water is found off Enraged, Famished and Hungered Raveners in Kaesora.

The Power of Wind, is found off a Gypsy Dancer in Mistmoore.

Return these to Walnan to receive the nodrop/lore "Power of Elements" and the following speech:

Walnan 'The Arcane art of Summoning is derived from the power of the elements which surround us. Continue your journey across the Ocean of Tears. In a dark fortress, you should find Akksstaf lurking about. Be wary, but tell him that you seek Magi'kot. Hurry now [Your Name], you do not wish to miss the ship!'

(Walnan despawns now and her pet attacks you. This may be a bug or a test to make sure you are high enough level. *shrug*)

You must now travel to Najena, in search of Akksstaff. He was once easy to locate, in the second room and always up. Now there are reports (and I’ve confirmed them for myself) that he wanders around and is not always spawned. This was changed after they made all four pages drop as they were supposed to.. He can still be found though, just keep looking and if you take more people you have a higher chance of finding him

TORN Word of Elements - Akksstaff - Nejena (spawn location is different on every server)

You say "Hail Akksstaff"

Akksstaff says 'What do you want?! Foolish Gnome, I am in no mood to treat with beggars. I have half a mind to turn Jobober here loose on you! Well, don’t keep me waiting, state your business or be off with you!

You say "Akksstaff I seek Magi Kot" (no ' in the name, must be a space instead)

Akksstaff says 'Ah, that I can help you with. Magi'kot was a powerful elementalist, able to control the power of the elements which surrounded him. He was not able to fully master the elements when I was learning from him, but soon after my departure I hear rumors that he was going after the Orb of Mastery. At the time, I did not feel he was ready to harness all the elements, but Magi'kot listened to no one. He was in search of power beyond any held by a mortal. Do you wish to hear more?'

You say 'I wish to hear more'

Akksstaff says 'Then bring me the torn pages of mastery, there are four pages that can be found upon the women in this keep, though have a care, Najena's followers guard her treasure carefully, and delight in punishing trespassers.'

All four torn pages (Torn Page of fire/Air/Water/Earth mastery) can be found off the Dark Elf Magicians in the zone. They are semi-rare, but it shouldn’t take as long as the next parts of the quest Return the four torn pages of mastery to Akksstaff and he will say the following: 'Very well. Take these words back to that shriveled old gnome, Rykas, if you wish to complete this quest. Now leave me, Jaalen , it sickens me to be this cordial for so long. And Jobober needs exercise. Go!'

You will receive a nodrop(lore also?) "Words of Mastery" which looks like a book. I think they got this and the tome Rykas gives us mixed up,

Return to Rykas and return the Words of Mastery, Power of the Elements, and the Words of Magi'kot. He will say the following:

'I see that you have completed the quest I laid before you. That speaks well of your dedication, yet you do not realize your journey has just begun. Study this tome.'

Rykas despawns at this point.

(NOTE : Rykas does despawn and his pet will attack you..pet is green at 56th, but may have faction)

You receive a tome from Rykas,

Which can be read. It reads as follows:

"An Elementalist's power comes from the Orb of Mastery. The Elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water are contained within the Orb. The Master of Elements hold the Orb.

He can be found in the Plane of Air. No mortal has been able to contain the true power of the Orb. Trilith Magi'kot presented himself to the Master of Elements and the Orb of Mastery. The power of elements brought agony to his mind and body. Magi'kot was not of Balance.

Fire burned his eyes unto blindness, Wind put his mind into a spin, Earth entered his body and aged him like the mountains, and finally, Water washed his memories of mortal life away.

Failing his test, the Orb exacted its terrible price, and now Magi kot is part of the Orb. The bearer of this tome should seek out the Master of Fire and present it to him, for there is much left to be revealed."

There is is, the first half of the quest. This is all confirmed by ever friggin mage on the planet. Once the second half of the quest gets completed we'll see where that leads us.

Burning Embers Idea...

How about the King or Queen of chardok? Sarnaks are considered "wurm kind" as the text says, and a king or queen is certainly notable ;). Plus it is also just a short distance from the quest NPC, like he says it should be.

There is allso the prince lets not forget. A "notable" sure can be a member of royalty, a title of some kind at least, Ive have this thought myself for a while. Slix wasnt dropping anything prior to last patch either remember.

Well, just because another class' epic involves the king/queen as well, does not necessarily mean our's does not. Take for example Neh'Ashirr in the City Of Mist for our element of fire. Shamans, or so i'm told, need an item from him as well.

Warrior FA quest blade comes from Queen already, Clerics from King and Enchanters from Prince. So it's not likely that the Chardok Royalty will be carrying our quest pieces. nice idea though. might be a named Sarnak that has it.

The text says a "notable member of wurmkind" has the embers, and that they are a short journey away.

The obvious choices first: We've all killed Entalon dozens of times over and nothing = it would stand to reason that if he had it, someone on some server would have gotten it now. And Talendor has been killed, and doesn't have it.

Let's assume the text is right, but that these 2 obvious mobs aren't the right ones. And let's factor in that it was reported that Abashi or the GM who designed the quest said something to the effect that maybe we are all looking in the wrong place, that it is hard, and it is worth it in the end. Based on the wurmslayer quest, there is a wurm in BW which is missing - Xyfl. Instead, you have to go to Sol Temple to get that particular scale off Xyfl's alternate form. The quest text could be correct in saying "a short journey" to BW to get Xyfl, but then the real mob is up in Sol Temple (or maybe somehow you trigger Xyfl to spawn by getting the alternate form to despawn or kill it). Just an idea...but it might fit...there already are other quest mobs in the mage quest you need to kill for a part (rottgrime who does the war braids, slixin who does one of the medallions in the vp key quest, etc)... Maybe an uber guild can test the idea and see...

Actually he doesnt Depop, ever, its just that people have a very hard time trying NOT to kill him. I suggest going in at an odd time of day to get him, somewhere arround the early morning am's (3 eastern 4 central 5 mountian 6 pacific) in order to turn in the objects he requires. Getting them to drop is effortless its just handing them in that people have a problem with. I had no problem finding him (hes in the tentacle room before the broken gate usually, use sense summoned to lead you to him if hes not there)

otherwise im already finished with collection of the book and im working on collecting the elements of fire. ODD thing is that somehow nobody seems to mention whos after him specificly, i beleive that he does give you an item but he has no mentioning of it on many web pages ive searched thru.

until then i just follow that which i know and pray that i can get it before i enter the levels above 50

Staff of elemental mastery earth : hard
dirt : easy
shovel : easy
broom : easy

staff of elemental water : average
Rain : easy
tears : easy

crown of elemental mastery : hard
elemental binder : easy
pegasus cloak : long time but easy mob

torch of elemental mastery : average
blazing wand : time but easy mob
rykas tome : easy
burning eber : VP extreme hard ?? Gorenaire or talendor ?? no cannot be don t fix in the script I think we found burning embers on a trivial way but we r to blind to find it.

I was just in general chat till the servers went down for this latest patch and the GM who wrote the mage epic was there talking a little about it.....and a couple of comments he made were actually informative in a round about way :P Mages were hollering about Talenor not dropping the burning embers still or any of the other mobs we suspect and he noted that the quest isnt broken and that people are makeing some big assumptions about what drops the embers. He also stated that although Inny is the only one atm who drops the earth staff, in the near future, his minnions WILL be dropping it. In short, there is still hope for us yet...dont give up all :)

If you did this prior to the patch of 22 Nov. it was a bug with several quest NPC's.

It was fixed as of 22 Nov.

I did the HS key quest the day before, and someone I knew did the Crafted BP quest (Centaurs don't have faction), and they said exactly the same line and ate the quest stuff.
I petitioned and got reimbursed and GM told me to wait till after patch to turn it in again.

Be sure on quest NPC's that is NOT indiff (eg. appr. or dubious as the HS Frog quest guy), ask some friend druid to give you wolf Form before doing quest. HS Frog turned indiff in wolf form.

Found the Elemental Binder
# Nov 16 2000 at 9:24 AM Rating: Default
Just in from the patch, I assume. Last night the Elemental Binder dropped off a random elemental warrior at the zone corridor in The Hole on Cazic. Here's the downside - the spawns are always breaking there, and by the time we left for the night, only one binder had dropped and 4 of the spawns in the front corridor were broken (they pop and spin but you cant engage and they won't attack). Don't know if loot there is TRULY random or if the Binder is associated with just one of those eles.
Binder was found by Pale Rider's guild - contact Hachidan to see if anyone has arranged a screen shot to post.

*Yawn* this is one of the simplest pieces to get so far, it is an extremely common drop on elemental warriors. I would say one in 8 will drop one or more, it is a LORE item but is not no-drop (yet), my druid friend has been selling them in west commons for days, trading them for good stuff... they tend to sell for around 800pp. They are of course magician only. I'm a 51 mage and its very easy to solo at the entrance area of the Hole, the pathing is sorta messed up making it even easier to solo pull. A group of 2 mages could easily get to the crusader room at the end of the first hall and a few steps to the right and kill the crusaders for a chance at loam equipment while you're there. This is one less item to have to worry about, plus you can get rid of that gay runed circlet and wear the binder instead.

Nice of them to make this easy on DE's... like everything else in the game. I killed about 100 blazing w/no luck.. so I had to fight my way through to the lava, only for it not to be up.. I waited 3 hours killing PHs with no pop.

Next day I had someone pull lava ele all the way through gnome fort, killed him twice, no item. Grrrrr!

# Nov 12 2000 at 1:23 AM Rating: Default
I have read in this forum somewhere that Neh'Ashiir was slain by using two level 49 fire pets, due to their 100% fire resist, with clerics healing. It sounds like an excellent theory, but Neh'Ashiir will get very pissed at the magicians and healers and summon like mad. If the same people are reading this, or others who have tried this, please elaborate on how much of a problem this was and/or how it was overcome?
RE: Lord Neh'Ashiir
# Nov 12 2000 at 11:02 PM Rating: Default
You guys are confusing the hell out of me. Neh'Ashiir is the last Lord...the one high atop the City of Mist. Rak'Ashiir is the lord with the AE fire DoT proc. Neh'Ashiir is a wizard, and therefore would gate. Rak'Ashiir is a warrior. Youre completely mixing this up to the point where it's impossible to make any sense out of these posts.
RE: Lord Neh'Ashiir
# Nov 12 2000 at 11:04 AM Rating: Default
This actually works very well, we did it from the start with 3 fire elementals and 1 Tank. we had no problems with him summoning mages or casters, however he does try to gate when he is close to dead. We had a few wizzies that let loose with thier Lure line of DD on him then and killed him before he could gate, though I suppose any method of interupting his spell would work. I do (first hand) that if he does gate everyone usually dies :).

actually I was on a raid when all the tanks died and me and another magician got neh'ashiir from 80% health to 5%health with only like a druid or 2 healing us while we ran.... course he gated and we all died afterwards

#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 03 2000 at 11:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well.. it got your attention. I've got several characters and every class/race has downsides.. my main char is a ranger and your complaining about quests that suck? What about the druid quests? I was going to browse through this thread to look for good info but too many whiners to waste my time on. If you don't like your quest change classes. I've still got my original character from day 1 (ranger by the way) and I've done every quest with help from friends but ALWAYS BEING INVOLVED MYSELF. Ever hear of a ranger paying BIG plat for an item? Nope.. normally we can't afford to. And have you ever seen a druid not in some type of leather looking armor? Not even one attainable quest for the low level druids.. Yea they have it good.. so do mages. (Don't get me wrong. I have a mage and I absolutely love playing him. But the point is in the having fun part.) Now can someone post some useful info on this wonderful thread?

You obviously did not brouse this thread very effectivly. There is some excelent information in it, even on the first page. Yes there are a few complaints, most of which are that our items required for the quest have not been exported to the live servers yet, mixed in with some about ours requiring an item which is highly desirable by many classes.

To those who have contributed so much valuable information, Thank you and keep up the good work.

I got to thinking when one of the rouges in the guild completed the epic quest. Some of the robes that are rare of difficult to obtain, that they need for the quest can also be found on a high level mob in Kith forest. I was thinking perhaps that the feather cloak can be found on another mob. As may know there is a unicorn in Lesser fay of unknown level( to me). Perhaps he drops it. Any thoughts?

OK one of the robe they moved to Kithicor was the Robe of the Kedge.

This dropped off Phingle a level 53 mob in Kedge keep, the same mob that drops the Staff of elemental mastery:Water which is also required for the mage Epic Quest,

Now did vernat put the staff of elemental mastery:Water on the same mob in kithicor with the Kedge Robe?

NO, They did not!

Instead mages still have to fight Phingle for the staff while rouges keep there little backstabbing feet dry killing the mob in kithicor for the Kedge Robe.

Simply put Vernat dosent give a **** about the mage class any of our post 50 problems or our EPIC quest.

PS:I bet our new multi pet sucks anyway!

They hate our class cause we have to Kill Phiningel Atropos ? Where's the Problem to kill him ? We went him down 5 times in one week with 12 to 18 ppl I think this was the easy part of the quest :p

the quest is possible but not so easy like the rogue quest for sure but if I ever held myself the mage epikquest item I think I m very proud.
A rogue cannot solo his quest and a mage for sure not but thats a quest not all can finish.

the only part which really sucks is the pegasus cloak : to camp a rare random spawn in a very big zone is more then boring and not able for a mage to do that cause without track you ll never find her but it s a part ok so I try to catch her and be lucky when I do so that s a part of the GAME.

Actually, as a mage myself, knowing ill prolly never get to complete quest, it doesnt bother me they helped the rogues, look at the difference in power of mages and rogues, no contest, mages are powerfull indeed so Its only natural theyd make our quest harder, Besides, Who will have done the best job after quests are all complete? hehe, the hardest one to complete of course, somethingto be said for the one to complete it.

It dosent matter how strong the Indivudual class is as many parts of the epic quests require 40 or more level 50+ players!

Unless you are trying to tell me that the rouge soloed the level 63 Dark elf in kithicor on his own to get the kedge robe?

well , the girl who drop the kedge robe in Kith is a lvl 58 caster. (the general is 63)

also the kedge robe is rare (1 in 10 spawns i am told, maybe more)

does anyone know if this part of the quest can be multi traded ? my ranger has a peg feather cloak and would be more than happy to help out a mage friend that needs it for his epic.

# Nov 06 2000 at 2:16 AM Rating: Default
well, as far as soloing a 63 ? that is what guilds are for, and it isnt a 63 mob. And further more, Yes I do understand quests. But you have to consider the Item from the quest, BETTER items require TOUGHER quests. And if youll look at the rogue Epic Item, It isnt all that hot. And even if the mob WAS 63, Id rather face it than go to the 7th isle in PoA or camp Cloak for 3 moinths, or do the guy in OT.

Heh. I saw Quillimane for the first time, ever, in SK yesterday. Two spells and she was down. I had no idea she was part of the mage epic quest, until the /tells started rolling in telling me how much I sucked. I wasn't even hunting SK, just running to the Aviaks to give some items to one of my twinks. Ah well. I'm going to end up helping some fortunate mage on our server, probably from one of the larger guilds, since they have a higher chance of actually completing the quest. Helped a bard friend yesterday kill Nebbekenezer for one of his epic items. You can bet it won't be one of the ones I received a "you suck" message from.

Bottom line ... never would have happened if folks in SK would have shouted a message periodically warning folks about Quillimane and the epic quest. From reading the logs, as an outsider, I tend to believe the cloak's one of the pieces for the Air item. So, if you're "camping" the cloak, please let the folks in the zone know, and the fact that it's nodrop.

South karana is a dump of place, full of twinks and newbs, to have to compete with all these people for an uber quest item is nuts. Half of them would Ks the cloak just cause they think its a neat toy even if they wont be using it, the other half would ask you a coat of flames to let you loot it. An uber quest item Should be in a zone where it takes skill to survive not South karana the twinks disneyland. Move it to the place like the hole, where you will need a group that knows what its doing, also Its better cause I find if its in a zone with high level players, they should respect a mages right to loot this above other classes as we all know the difficulty in our quests, unlike those boofhead newbs in karana.

To camp the pegasus cloak, I decided I could either rent a tracker, or make my own. Given that it would be near impossible to get anyone to spend all that time to help me on a quest, I have opted to make my own tracker. As far as I know, the quest can be shared. SK is just too big a zone for a mage to run around randomly trying to find a mob that I have no clue where it pops at. I'll probably end up using my tracker for help on more of the quest too.

I have a pegasus cloak, I was wondering if you can multi quest it so I could hand it in as part of the air quest.

If so how much should I charge for handing in this item, I have seen people offer 50k pp for the loot rights long before it was needed for a quest so I was thinking around 200k in pp or items was a fair price to give up the only chance I have of doing the quest my self!

You may think that is a lot of pp but i know a few people that have over 100k pp in there bank and the mage that bought it would proberbly get there guild to chip in.

As a mage giving up my cloak would leave me with no real chance of completing the quest my self and I would lose unlimited casts of levitate.

In the amount of time that it would take me to replace 200k pp worth of stuff( and plat), I could have successfully camped the cloak myself.

200k pp, hmm that is a lot of pp.

I my self have around 300k in pp and items stashed in my bank just on one character and I know people who have even more than me.

More like 100k maybe 150k pp if someone really needed it, dont forget there are only a few of these on each server and you have to persuade the owners to give them up.

I saw a druid kill the pegasus a while ago outside paw, I offered 40k pp for the cloak but he laughed and said no, You can see how much people want the cloak even for just the effect!

BTW The pegasus feather cloak from SK IS the one needed for the mage quest, you can all cry as much as you like but its whats needed and its what you have to get!

I think you a bit crazy if you think somone would buy that cloak for 200K.
First off, that would be the equivalent to everything I have on, and Im not about to lose everything I have for one weapon, and then to start collecting clothing and equipment again.

Secondly, We still don't know if in fact it is the cloak we need. It may turn out to be something else.

If you are a magi, then why would you give up the chance of doing it yourself anyway. If anything do the quests, and look into that one person turns in such and such items, and the other person turns in the others. I heard it can be done with both people reaping the reward of the weapon.

Elemental Binder was found on Test. When this was brought to the attention of the folks over a Verant the response was: "All items associated with the Epic Quests will be moved over in the next patch."

Look for this one in the Hole on Tuesday.

The Crown is a drop off the 7th island in Sky. You need an Uber-Guild to get this one.

Dirt of Underfoot is found in the Hole and is one of four ____ of Underfoot's that can drop from any of the Elementals in the zone. Overall I think this one is the rarest of the four.

The item is the Pegasus Cloak. It has to be, no other way around it. Some people say the Feathered Cloak from Sky but I doubt it sincerely. Then again, my feeling is that we'll find out everything after Next Tuesday.

Magician Epic Quest (First Half)– Information that is known so far - 10/25/2000

Your quest begins in Lake Rathe. Seek ‘Rykas’ at approximately 1000, -700.

You say, 'hail Rykas'

Rykas says 'Greetings [Your Name] , I am Rykas, chronicler of knowledge. I have journeyed all throughout the lands of Norrath, and I have learned many tales of adventure from people I have encountered during my travels. I have learned of legends known and unknown to most mortals. Are you in search of knowledge?

You say, 'I am in search of knowledge'

Rykas says 'A small task is needed if you wish to learn more. Do you wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot?

You say, 'I wish to learn the tale of Magi'kot'

Rykas says 'If you seek to learn the tale of Trilith Magi'kot, your journey shall begin in the Commonlands.

Search for Jahsohn Ak'sot and give him this token.

(Rykas hands you a gold token coin)

He will share some of the knowledge I have bestowed upon him, and point you further down your path to Mastery. Bring me the Words of Mastery, Power of the Elements, and the Words of Magi'kot

Then you shall learn more about the power of the orb.

Next, travel to West Commons. You are in search of Jahsohn Aksot for the Words of Magi’Kot. I assume you can use the locate summoned spell to find him faster..

Giving the Token of Mastery (the token you receive from Rykas) to Jahsohn produces the following response:

Jahsohn Aksot says 'What is this? I cannot believe you found it! Where did you get this?'

You gain experience!!

You say, 'Rykas'

Jahsohn Aksot says 'I have not heard of anyone speaking that name out loud in years. Rykas once shared a tale with me, though I have lived with fear in my mind ever since. He told me afterwards that I did not have the balance I thought I had. Have you come for the Words of Magi'kot?

You say, 'I have come for the words of Magi'kot'

The Power of Fire drops off the Blazing Elementals in Sol A. After camping the lava Elemental for 11 hours and finally getting the Power of Fire I killed 4 Blazing Elementals and they dropped the Power of Fire twice.

No, Rykas is a subquest of the subquest for the main quest.

Nice try though.

Rykas is the start of the quest. True he is a subquest, but his tome is pretty clear that he starts the whole thing.
