Full Walkthrough
  • Visit Baldric Slezaf, located inside a pyramid at +775, +9665, around the portal area of the Dreadlands.

    You say, 'Hail, Baldric Slezaf'

Baldric Slezaf says 'Hello. Don't you think this would be a wonderful place to perform a symphony?'

    You say, 'What symphony?'

Baldric Slezaf says 'It has been my dream for years to perform a symphony that would be remembered for ages to come. I have run into a few minor snags, however.'

    You say, 'What snags?'

Baldric Slezaf says 'Several years ago I bought sheets of the most beautiful sounding music from a traveling merchant. He did not know the author of the work as it was simply signed 'the Maestro'. The melody I played from them was wondrous and invoked feelings in me I have never felt before. However, as I reached the middle of the music, I discovered it was missing two pages!'

    You say, 'What pages?'

Baldric Slezaf says 'The pages that were missing were pages 24 and 25. I have been searching the world for a spot to hold my symphony and I have finally found it. Without the music and a new lute crafted by the famous instrument maker Forpar Fizfla, I do not think I can pull it off.'

You say, 'Who is Forpar Fizfla?'

Baldric Slezaf says 'Forpar Fizfla is an eccentric instrument maker from Ak'Anon. He makes enchanted instruments that enhance the sound of the music. If I am to perform the concert of all concerts, I must have one of his instruments. I went to Ak'Anon, seeking to purchase an instrument from him but he wouldn't even speak to me.'

    You say, 'What music?'

Baldric Slezaf says 'It makes me sad to know that the pages of this music may be spread across the world or destroyed. If you find and bring me the two missing sheets as well as a new lute, I would be happy to repay you in some way.'

You say, 'How will you repay me?'

Baldric Slezaf pulls a fantastic looking sword from its scabbard and says, 'I might be willing to part with this wonderful sword if I were able to perform this symphony. You would also gain recognition at the opening of the symphony.' Baldric sheathes his sword and begins to hum a haunting melody.

  • Baldric Slezaf wants these four items:

    1) First Half of Page 24
    2) Second Half of Page 24
    3) Page 25
    4) Lute made by Forpar Fizfla

  • To get top part page 24 go to West Karana and see Konia Swiftfoot, who may be found inside a guard tower at -500, -2400. She gives you a Torch of Misty and starts a race. Take the torch to Fajio Knejo in Misty Thicket (close to the wall guards). He gives you a Torch of Ro. Then take that torch to Andad Filla in South Ro (close to innothule zone) who gives you a Torch of Rathe. Then take that torch to Misty Tekcihta in Lake Rathetear (by the Arena zone). This will get you Proof of Speed. Finally, take this back to Konia Swiftfoot and you will get the top part of page 24.

  • You say, 'Hail, Konia Swiftfoot'

Konia Swiftfoot says 'Hello there, ______. I am hosting a relay running contest. Would you like to participate?'

You say, 'I would like to participate.'

Konia Swiftfoot says 'Great! The prize will be this silly old music sheet. Let me know when you are ready and I will pass you the torch and tell you where the first stop is.'

    You say, 'I am ready.'

Konia Swiftfoot says 'Here you go. Run with this torch as fast as you can to the misty thicket and hand this torch off to Fajio Knejo. He will tell you where to go from there. Hurry! You do not have much time!'

You have entered The Misty Thicket.

    You say, 'Hail, Fajio Knejo'

Fajio Knejo says 'Greetings, ______. I hope you are having a fine day.'

Fajio Knejo says 'Run onward, my friend, to the far off Desert of Ro and give this torch to Andad Filla.'

    You gain experience!!
    You gain experience!!

You have entered South Desert of Ro.

    You say, 'Hail, Andad Filla'

Andad Filla says 'Hello, traveler, please do not bother me right now. I am waiting for someone.'
Andad Filla says 'You still have a way to go! Seek out Misty Tekcihta near the arena at Lake Rathe. Run like the wind!'

    You gain experience!!
    You gain experience!!

    You have entered Lake Rathetear.

    You say, 'Hail, Misty Tekcihta'
Misty Tekcihta smiles and taps her foot.
Misty Tekcihta hands you a small ring.

    You gain experience!!

Konia Swiftfoot says 'Excellent! You are quite a runner. Here is half of the sheet music. I decided to keep the other half because it has this wonderful signature. I think it might be quite valuable. It is probably worth as much as an instrument the great Mahlin used.'

    You gain experience!!

  • To get the bottom half, you need to give Konia Swiftfoot Mahlin's Mystical Bongos. Talk to Baenar Swiftsong at location -15, +100 in South Karana. He will give you an invoice after you ask "what doll?". Go to Solusek A and give the gnome vendor Marfen the invoice and you will receive a doll. Take the doll to the Estate of Unrest and find Serra (next to the gnomish spelunker):

    You say, 'Hail, Serra'

Serra says 'H..h..hello? Can you help me? I lost [something] and I need it so I can go back home.'

    You say, 'Something?'

Serra says 'I never got my doll for my birthday. Before he could bring it to me I was h..hurt by the bad man. I cannot leave without my doll. Will you please help me?'

    You say, 'What doll?'

Serra claps her hands. 'Oh goody! But... I cannot seem to remember his name. He gave me this note before I...'

    You say, 'What note?'

Serra says 'I hope it will help you out. Please find him so I can leave this place?'

  • You receive a Ripped Qeynos Bards Guild Flyer.

  • Give her the Mechanical Doll:

Serra says 'Oh! You have the dolly! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can go home now. Please give this to my father, Baenar. He will understand when he gets it.' Serra begins to fade away. 'Bye bye!''

  • You receive a Note for Baenar.

  • Take the note to Braenar, who will give a new note for Maligar. Take the note from Braenar to Maligar, who is in West Karana at loc 1200, -10900. Maligar's Enraged Doppleganger will attack at this point (bring a group). Kill the Doppleganger and loot his head. Take the head back to Braenar and receive "Mahlin's Mystical Bongos". Take the bongos to Konia Swiftfoot in West Karana to get the bottom of Page 24.

  • To get Page 25 go to South Karana and talk to the wood elf bard named Kelkin Mekia.

    You say, 'Hail, Kelkim Menkia'

Kelkim Menkia sighs as she looks over her lute. 'My lute was mangled by those damnable gnolls! I have no idea how I'm going to get a new set of strings for it. They were so rare.'

You say, 'Why are they so rare?'

Kelkim Menkia says 'I only use the finest lute strings on my lute. My uncle got them for me from across the world. His name was Zendrik the Wurmslayer. As his name implies, he killed many wurms and drakes. The strings for my lute were all made from the guts of the wurms and drakes he slew.

You say, 'What wurms and drakes?'

Kelkim Menkia says 'The strings were from a chromodrac, a red wurm and a huge onyx drake. It always sounded so wonderful.' Kelkim sighs, looking off to the horizon. As she shakes her lute angrily, she says, 'I'll kill all of you dirty gnolls!'

  • Find these three items and give them to her to receive Page 25:

    Chromodrac Gut
  • (dropped by Eldrig the Old, a named chromodrac in Skyfire)
    Red Wurm Gut
  • (dropped by Nezekezena, a named wurm in the Burning Woods)
    Onyx Drake Gut
  • (dropped by Blackwing, an onyx drake in Rathe Mountains)

Kelkim Menkia snatches the gut strings from your hand and immediately begins to string her lute. 'This is wonderful, I will be able to play my lute again soon! Take this old sheet of music I found - I don't think I will have much use for it. My new desire is to bash gnoll heads in with my lute. Safe travels to you, Kenayne.'

    You gain experience!!

  • Now you need Forpar's Lute. This is rewarded as head, body and strings.

  • First you need to get horn from Ocean of Tears (Alluring Horn from Quag Maelstrom). Take the alluring horn from Ocean of Tears to Vedico Windwisper, a half elf bard in Butcherblock, by the docks.

  • Vedico Windwisper says, 'Hello, _____. Have you seen the port master? I am here to complain about the shoddy service.'

    You say, 'what shoddy service?'

Vedico Windwisper says, 'I was sailing from Freeport on one of the boats when a giant cyclops attacked the boat! No one lifted a finger as he stole the horn I was playing and ran off. Someone here has to answer for the loss of my horn.'

You offered 1 Alluring Horn to Vedico Windwisper.

Vedico Windwisper says, 'Where did you find this? I thought the cyclops took it. I am in your debt, SoAndSo. This horn has always been special to me.' Vedico reaches into her pack and pulls out a note. 'Do you think you could deliver this to my gnome friend Forpar. I have not spoken to him in a while and unfortunatly I will be unable to make the trip to visit him. If you are looking to have an instrument made, he is the man to ask.'

You receive Note to Forpar Fizfla in your inventory.

  • Take the note she gives you to Forpar. He then gives you a note and a list of items he needs:

  • Forpar Fizfla says, 'Get out, you pesky Wood Elf! I don't need any Wood Elf germs! Out, ye filthy beast!'

You offered 1 Note to Forpar Fizfla to Forpar Fizfla.

Forpar Fizfla says, 'So you know Vedico! How is the lass? If Vedico would give you the time of day, you must be something special. What can I do for you? I hope you have not come to have me make another [mystical instrument].'

    You say, 'mystical instrument'

Forpar Fizfla says, 'I have made many mystical instruments in the past. Each one seemed to be better than the last. I have always had a dream of building the world's best lute, but I have yet to find someone brave enough to gather the [components] needed to make the instrument.'

    You say, 'components'

Forpar Fizfla says, 'To make a mystical lute I will first need to make several pieces. If you bring me the backbone of an ancient fishman, a strong tentacle from one of the long lost amalgyms, and a petrified skull of a lycanthrope I may be able to create the head and neck of the instrument. If you go out and gather these things, make sure to bring me the note I gave you or I might forget who you are. I am getting quite old, you know.'

You receive Forpar's Note to Himself in your inventory.

  • This is the list of items he needs:

  • 1) Backbone of an Ancient Fishman - Kedge Backbone from Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep.
    2) Amalgam Tentacle - Amygdalan Tendril from Plane of Fear.
    3) Petrified Skull of a Lycanthrope - Petrified Werewolf Skull from Karnor's Castle off a Drolvarg Warlord.

Take all 3 items and the note back give to Forpar.

Forpar Fizfla says 'Wow! I didn't think a Human like you would be able to gather all of those things.' Forpar rambles around and works with small tools for a good ten minutes before handing you a very fine looking lute head. 'Now, do you want to gather the next pieces for me?'

  • He gives you the Mystical Lute Head.

    You say, 'What next pieces?'

Forpar Fizfla says 'The next pieces are a little harder to come by than those. To make the body of an instrument that will last ages to come, I need something very special. The scales of a big red dragon and the scales of a big white dragon will make it unbreakable, as well as giving it a unique look. Some metal bits will allow me to hold the body together. Please, if you gather up these things, bring them to me as soon as possible. I have not felt this good in years!'

  • The body requires the following items:

    1) Red Dragon Scales from Talendor, Lord Nagafen, or Echo of Nortlav.
    2) White Dragon Scales from Gorenaire or Lady Vox.
    3) Metal Bits (regular smithed metal bits). (There's been some confusion because the name of the item is plural, but you really only need one copy of this. Verified in-game.)

Forpar Fizfla says 'Woooooo! You are doing a wonderful job, ______. I wish I could go out and gather these things myself.' Forpar sits back down at his desk and pulls several very strange looking tools out. Eventually he looks up at you and says, 'The body is done! Only one more piece to go!'

You say, 'One more piece to go?'

Forpar Fizfla says 'The lute has a head and body. The only thing missing is a set of strings that will never break! I have heard rumors of a living dead poison dragon in the lands of Kunark. If your were somehow able to get your hands on his guts, I could finish the lute. You would have to bring me the head, the body and the undead dragon gut for lute strings!'

  • Find and bring a raidforce to Trakanon's lair in Old Sebilis at -2085, -705.

  • Kill Trakanon and loot the Undead Dragongut Strings from him. On Live servers, spawn the triggered version of Trakanon by giving the Undead Bard the Mystical Lute Body.

  • Once you have all three lute parts, give the following to Forpar to receive the mystical lute: the head, body and gut strings.

Forpar Fizfla says 'Goodness! I can hardly contain myself! This will be my greatest creation ever!' Forpar sits down, slides the lute head into place and screws it together. After a few minutes, he begins to string the lute with the gut strings of the poison dragon. A wonderful sound fills the air as he strums the lute once and hands it to you. 'I hope you find a good use for that! I bet you could play it from the mountaintops and the people below would hear you. Thank you, ______, for making my lifelong dream come true!'

    You gain experience!!

  • Now head back to Baldric Slezaf and give him the following items:

    1) Maestro's Symphony Page 24 Top
    2) Maestro's Symphony Page 24 Bottom
    3) Maestro's Symphony Page 25
    4) Mystical Lute from Forpar

Baldric Slezaf looks shocked as you hand him the pages and the mystical lute. 'I will put on a symphony the likes of which the gods have never seen. Thank you so much, ______. Please take this sword as a token of my gratitude.'

    You gain experience!!

  • He will reward you with the Singing Short Sword.

If you did a bit of research you would find out. It's a 55% haste (yes, 55%), with +30 str and +30 atk thrown in as well. It also is a group effect, so everyone around you in your group gets the benefits. Activatable and I think it lasts for 2 1/2 mins. Not sure of how often it can be activated though.

Top of page 24 is easy, it's just running around I'd suggest do this and bottom of page 24 steps together as they kinda run in the same places. Once you have top of page 24 and note to maligar get a couple friends together.

Maligar is way back up on the north zone wall in the hills in West Karana, a bit east of the ogres, roughly north of the last cluster of inns on the trail. For Maligar we had me:50 bard, 46 enchanter, 50 druid, 51 warrior, 48 monk, 51 cleric, 52 rogue definite overkill. Procced my DE illusion and he conned dubious (and blue at 50), kept the party back. faction song didn't seem to change him any more and everything in camp besides mal is puke green and shouldn't aggro, we had druid lay down the harmony just to be safe. Trigger it by walking up to him with your back to the party, get a tick of selos with drum, a tick of elemental rythms with drum then give the note. His doppleganger spawns and he aggros, the rest of camp should leave you alone at least at 50+ levels, you will eat mal's HT by doing this but it seems pretty weak although I was blind at the time. You may or may not be blind either way try to run backwards into your group. Maligar blinds, the doppleganger does not and this isn't your average blind, it stuck with my 200+MR and stayed FOREVER but basically have the enc lay down the crowd control on Mal and the rest of the group axe the doppleganger. Your job should probably be to keep the MR high enough that everyone else in group can see, I wasn't doing that and we managed to kill the doppleganger and maligar with no party deaths but everyone was blind most of the fight. I'd recomend elemental and guardian twist with drum for the whole fight let the real tanks do the dirty work. You could also try fear on this guy but he has some decent MR himself and even tashaned it was hard for the enchanter to lay anything down on him, I also have no clue how the fear pathing works out by his spawn. The doppleganger drops a head and a newbie caster robe, mal drops just a caster robe. No faction hits for mal or the doppleganger. The drums seemed to have the same increase as MM drums but this was tried during the infamous selo's/snare nerf so who knows what else was broken that week.

Blackwing, the drake in Rathe Mtns can be solod at level 50, he seemed about as hard to fear kite as your typical hill giant.

The wurm in BW is now Phurzicon, I did the same thing I always do when faced with a blue con and selo's is memmed and took a pop at him. Never got to see how nasty his melee is just you have been struck, you resist the force strike, you have been struck, LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... I'd say 2 well oiled 50+ groups for this one and have everyone bring their MR gear he loves to use that magic based DD and his cold based DD seems pretty weak. I found him along the east zone wall just south of the chardok fortress area but closer to the little sarnak fort by the FM zone. I think the /loc someone gave me was neg 465 by neg 2550 and this seems about right. Supposedly it's best to kill him at his spawn point and/or keep him constantly feared or stunned as he gates home and heals himself but I haven't had the fortune of experience this yet.

Eldrick I'm guessing will be as tough or tougher than Phurzicon, just bring the same group you got to kill him into the next zone and take him down at the same time. Unfortunatly I haven't been in skyfire since I poked my head in the zone from overthere in my 40's and everything was red/yellow so I have no clue on this one.

Qaug is interesting because he's only slightly tougher than your average seafury cyclops. My first trip out to get his horn ended up being me watching some other bard take a pop at it. The y managed to fear it with snare breaking and aggro the corrupted seafury who is insane red at 50. They both seem to summon and a whole bunch of people died luckily I got away (teach me to go yak on someone else's mob in an effort to 'help') by squeezing out past the 'forget' range on selo's and camping really quick like. I'd say bribe the usual seafury campers to kill quag for you and maybe help them just a little but nothing besides playing second pet, let them do the work. On my server all the seafury campers have killed Quag a few times and they'd rather do it themselves then see you make a mess of it and take down half the players in the zone in the process.

Amy warriors in fear never drop the tendril when I'm up there but it's a crappy warrior weapon, kinda like the martune rapier in hate for bards, so you probably won't be fighting with any warriors for looting rights if it does drop.

Phin in kedge...there is enough strategy out there on him, just watch out for the multiple guardians bug.

Drolvarg Warlord on my server Karnors has become the 50+ version of crushbone so you can probably walk in here on most days and get in a group that will eventually kill him.

If you are lucky you will be below level 53 and can get scales from vox and nagafen. With the availability of tactical knowledge for these dragons they are pretty easy for anyone who can muster the numbers and nobody will turn down a good bard on a dragon raid. If not your either going to have to do some serious negotiating or kill some bigger dragons in Kunark.

Trakanon is the clincher, your going to have to get some serious power to take him down.

hehe 2 well oiled groups :p just gotta be creative.

i soloed phurzikor at 56. the key is to charm him and pit him against 4 or 5 mobs so he runs out of mana. he can then be normally kited with dots and will occasionally cast a roughly 80 pt nuke on you as his mana regens. once he gets low on hp you may want to switch to fear kiting as he tends to gate (even if he is oom, he will stop and try to gate occasionally until his mana regens enough to let him do it [as a side note it seems NPCs regen mana at roughly the same rate as a caster standing up with c2 :)]). Didnt have guts 2 x i tried, then i was running to chardok and someone /ooc-ed guts dropped. Just my luck lol at least i have them now.

BTW dont fear kite quag just normal dot kite him. piece of cake. also it's almost 2x as much damage as meleeing him rofl.

I was with you up until the point where you started kiting him. I'm not certain about Phurzikon, but I know for certain that Nez summons and I'm pretty sure that Phurz does too. We just fear-kited both when they spawned. Guts dropped off Nez 3 times in 3 spawns and never off of Phurzicon. Poor mage didn't get her piece off of either wurm.

There's a lot of posts here about the doppleganger. However, I noticed that Gorenaire (in Dreadlands) is a 60th lvl dragon. What's required to kill her for her scale?

    RE: What about the dragons
    # Jan 08 2001 at 11:04 AM Rating: Default
A good 4 to 6 groups is needed for Gorenaire and Talendor. One of the Uber guilds on the Rathe had 6 50+ groups the first time they took on Gorenaire. Gore killed them all while they only took about 1/3 of its hp. They stuffed uup on tactics, not knowing what to expect. Tactics are better known now, so look around a bit.

Can get away with 4 groups MAYBE if they are mainly 55+, but it depends on the tactics and group makepups. Would not be an easy task, so I'd be leaning towards 6 rather high level groups. Basically, like the end of most of the FA quests the end part of this is only for guilds that can send there own guild alone to the planes.

Personally, this is the most straightforward of the FA quests. Ignoring the actual difficulty of killing the mobs, theres nothing too complicated about it at all. Do a lap of Antonica (easy peasy bit), kill the doppleganger (estimate approx lev 35 group needed), kill a few named mobs (approx lev 45 group), and then do a planes level bit (50ish lev groups) before taking out 2 of the toughest mobs in the game (55+ multi group needed) Of course, THATS the hard bit :)

Nothing like the Shammy quest where you need to sit about underwater doing nothing for an hour or so for one part of the quest, or wandering all over CoM getting reports or books like the Mage quest. It's all a logical process where each step is harder than the one before. Dont expect to get this until your 55+, probably higher, and have a LOT of friends around you to get the last bits.

you can join a gore/tal group round 50. thats hardest part. as long as theres alot of others yer not going to matter much(just play mana song since thats all we good fer lol and resists fire/cold). just ask for a scale and its np at all. hardest part is Trakanon, considering hes maybe 5 times harder than the other two =)

Gore is a lot harder then Trak! My guilds killed Trak plenty of times with no problems. We just attempted Gore for the first time the other day and got keeled. Got her to about 50% health. Her AE slow is unresistable so you better bring lots of fire power.

Eldrig's place holders in Skyfire are minor named mobs such as Black Scar, a Lava Walker, etc. If you kill them enough he will spawn. Seen him mostly by the zone to Burning woods.

The Wurm in BW that drops the guts has changed to another named wurm. Sorry I do not know the spelling of the name, just that it starts with a Ph and it hangs around near Nezek.

Does anyone have any insight on the where abouts or times that Nezekezena in Burning Woods or Eldric the Old in Skyfire spawns?

Also, has anyone used regular dragon scales from Naggie or Vox instead of the ubber dragons? I have a friend about to try the quest with thoose scales and I hate for her to waste 2 good items on someones "word of mouth".

    Any insight is appreciated.

Maybe he wanders the whole zone then? Though, I saw him somewhere close to neg 1000 neg 2500 (far from SF zone..), on a place with ashes ground, and he wasn t moving away from there (i hunted for close to one hour in this area and he was always at the same spot). Maybe he got stuck due t some pathing problem though, but he wasn't behaving like a stuck mob.

    bongos
    # Oct 26 2000 at 2:30 AM Rating: Default
The full quest is actually this (for bongos)

Talk to serra in unrest and get note

Take note to bard guild in qeynos and ask about tattered bard guild flyer

When he tells you about baenar swiftsong tell him you want an audience with him and he tells you you need an invitation

ask about invitation and he asks for 50pp and then you get the invitation

Take invitation to baenar in SK and he tells you this big long story about unrest falling and his lost daughter, etc

Talk to him about his daughter and he says he never got to give her her doll

Ask about doll and he gives you invoice

Take invoice to gnome merchant in sola (Marfen Binkdirple) and recieve doll

Take doll back to serra and she gives you a note and disappears (her soul has been released)

Take note to Baenar in SK again and he talks about never getting to tell her the truth about her real father, as he only acted as her father, he gives you a note to take to her real father

Take note to maligar in WK-this is the hard part. We had to get a high level chanter to charm him and then kill all his thugs. While still charmed, we gave note, to which he replys about him not caring about her and says he was the one that killed her then says "oops, I slipped, now I must kill you", when his enraged dopplgan spawns. Luckily he was still charmed and he helped us kill himself )

You loot his head and a robe

Take his head to Baenar and recieve the bongos, serra's "favorite instrument"

    Reward: Mahlin's mystical bongos

This quest in full took about 7 hours with the help of a druid gating and us figuring out what to say, etc. Funny how a lvl 34, 30, and 44 can complete this part.

PS, if you don't want to charm maligar, he is Bloodsabre faction

Traded bongos for a pair of eboots straight up

I didn't had ti charm maligar or anyone else of his crew. He was indifferently to me.
I just have the head to him, the doppelganger spawned, blinded and feared me but after blind and fear wore off I could easily chain and fear him so no more blinds. =)
All the time he attacked me while blinded he just took me half a bubble hp from 21xx with 120 magic resist, 84x ac in lvl 57.

    # Nov 02 2000 at 11:59 AM Rating: Default
Heh, you all did it the hard way. Grab a group, pull the surrounding singles, give him the note, dopple spawns and you kill them both. The effort to kill them both is estimated at 2 50 level people (safely) or one 50 bard using the chain fear(risky).

If you want to do it by yourself then clear the surrounding mobs, give note, charm him and have him beat on the doppler. Cake walk actually.

I am a lvl 51 bard. I was able to handle it with myself and a lvl 51 druid. Not easily though. A third person would have helped but we whooped him nonetheless. I just kept charming him even though he and the dopple kept blinding me. RESIST UP!
I just got him last night!

At 43rd with a 50+ Cleric backing me. Mind you, hehe, someone had failed after spawning the Enraged Doppleganger and we just had to fight it. We both died once but after proper buffing and using Mystical shielding we got him on the second try. :)

This fellow is KOS to me. I killed him, but that didn't spawn his little doppleganger. Is there anyway to give him the note when he's KOS? Is it possible to sneak up on him and give him the note? I haven't tried sneaking up to him yet because I think I'm going to need a group to fight him and his doppleganger. It was pretty tough killing him alone.
here is a couple of ideas.
    # Nov 12 2000 at 3:37 PM Rating: Default
One - Clear his camp of the greens and then charm him and turn in the note. FIGHT!

Two - Clear camp and sneak up to him and turn in the note. FIGHT!

Three - Get lucky and kill the Dopple after someone else has died spawning him. FIGHT!
(This part I have to appologize for. On Sol Ro last night he was wandering through Goonda's area so me and a friend Busted him and got my Bongos. It wasnt till after that I thought of how I must be profiting from another Bards loss. Luckily he killed us first run and no one was looking for him after 30 minutes or so, so I guess they gave up!)

OK, I went up to him today and damn did he beat the **** out of me. I didn't notice he was KOS before you give him the note. How are you suppose to give him the note if he is KOS to you? Do you need an enchanter to charm him or what? And does his Doppleganger spawn once you give him the note or what? Cause he isn't anywhere around him.
