Call of the Forsaken Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor

This was a pre-launch event ahead of the "Tower of Rot" release (an extension to the storyline involving the Call of the Forsaken expansion).

It was available from Wednesday, May 14, 2014, through to Monday, July 7, 2014, and is no longer in game.

This is a solo task that begins with Captain Deidre Harath in North Qeynos. She is located next to the Plane of Knowledge portal stone.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Deidre Harath'

Captain Deidre Harath says 'Ah good. You're one of those adventurers, right? Great. We need your help. In case you didn't notice on your way here, what with all the teleportation you folks do, there are monsters and people invading Qeynos. Creepy, glowy sorts of [creatures], undead, and pirates that look like they are from the old days. They are killing people, and we need you to [stop] them.'

You say, 'What creatures?'

Captain Deidre Harath says 'They just appeared. Gahlith thinks they may be from some place called the ether... ether something. They just appear at random in the city and start killing people. That's all I know, and all I really care to know. My job is to kill them; it's Gahlith's task to figure out how to stop them from showing up.'

You say, 'I'll stop them'

Captain Deidre Harath says 'Good, very good. Be careful in the city, the guards are very jumpy. Do your best to avoid them if you can. Try not to hurt any citizens, but killing those monsters is the most important thing.'

You have been assigned the task 'Ether Too Near'.

Captain Harath has asked you to defeat the invaders in Qeynos and the yard in front of the city. She has asked you to be cautious of the guards and citizens of the city, who are very frightened because of the invasion.

Defeat invaders in Qeynos and the yard 0/30 (ALL)

You'll find Ethernere type mobs (tiruns; orafiks; geheins; bandits etc.) in the North Qeynos yard and throughout South Qeynos. Mobs appear to be of average difficulty for their levels (Level 99-101), hitting for a max ~15,000.

Kill 30 of these mobs in either of the Qeynos zones.

Note that you may need to be on the mob's hate list in order to get credit for the kill (simply being in the group doesn't appear to update it). Also, these mobs seem to be non-KOS to most players, but KOS to others (it isn't known what determines this). The mobs are social with each other and hostile to the inhabitants of Qeynos and local wildlife (don't expect help from the guards; they'll be stuck in death cycles!).

Speak with Captain Harath 0/1 (North Qeynos)

You say, 'Hail, Captain Deidre Harath'

Captain Deidre Harath says 'Thank you for your help. The enemy just might be endless, but we can't give up.'

Captain Harath was grateful for your efforts on behalf of her city.

Just did this quest with 2 other people and 3 mercs and we all got credit for each kill.

This is followed by "Heads for the Hills". Kill 30 in Qeynos hills. Same NPC key word is Access

Captain Deidre Harath says 'You're back! Great! I don't know if we can [stop] this invasion. You've done what you can in the city, and thanks for that, but they just keep coming. I've had reports that these [creatures] are out in the hills too. It's my job to help protect travelers on the roads as well as those in the city. I don't suppose you would be willing to lend your help protecting [access] to the city, would you?'
