I was able to do both of the following 30-kill quests by "tagging" other group's mobs with snare. As long as you do not fade aggro before the mob dies you will get credit for the kill on the quest window.

May 17, 2014 to July 7, 2014 Shared Task: Beyond the Barrier (Erron Ailspoc in the Dead Hills - map) Tower of Rot Pre-Launch Achievement Completion of all four pre-launch tasks gives you credit for the "Defender of Qeynos" achievement (access to title - suffix: "Defender of Qeynos") Argin-Hiz Pre-Launch Achievement Completion of all nine pre-launch tasks gives you credit for the "Flamewarder" achievement (access to title - suffix: " , Flame Warder") What's Going On: Tower of Rot The lead-up to the Tower of Rot's opening began with Captain Russell Cooper's heroic adventure chain. After having cleared a path to the excavation site in the Dead Hills, you got a look at the Descending Tower... In time, you would encounter a rather angry Undead Lord by the name of Kyle Bayle, the apparent long-dead leader of the original ill-fated Qeynos expedition into the Dead Hills many years prior. While you managed to defeat Kyle Bayle's Captain and Sergeants, the Undead Lord managed to retreat back into his tower. Meanwhile, the guards of Qeynos have been trying to remedy the disaster site that is West Karana. This situation has gone unresolved, however, and creatures of the Ethernere (having initially appeared due to the time ripples caused by Lady Lendiniara's appearance) have managed to breach the Qeynos Hills and the city of Qeynos, itself. Captain Deidre Harath has arrived to deal with the problem in Qeynos, and Gahlith Wrannstad - one of the Qeynos caster guildmasters - has been tasked with finding a way to rid Qeynos of the Ethernere creatures for good. The citizens of Qeynos aren't the only ones having a problem with the Ethernere invasion. These creatures have also begun to invade the site of the Tower of Rot, itself, and are being fought off by the tower's undead forces (Erron Ailspoc has been sent to recover some samples from these beings). What links the Tower of Rot with those time ripples is not yet known for sure, but rumors suggest something inside the tower will lead to an answer. What's Going On: Argin-Hiz From a June 2014 patch message: Warm winds begin to blow in Ethernere-Tainted West Karana and the South Desert of Ro. Winds like these must portend the arrival of something or someone. Stay alert for when the time comes! From a news announcement on July 2, 2014: "The ash pours into our lands, threatening what meager homes and crops we have! Won't you [destroy] these wandering ash monsters?" A hot ash wind is blowing from the portals that have appeared in Ethernere-Tainted West Karana and South Ro. Creatures of ash have ventured out of the portals and are roaming menacingly throughout South Ro and North Ro. Guards from Freeport have come here to bring order to this region and are beseeching powerful adventurers to travel here to assist with quelling the blaze. Freeport guards aren't the only group that’s investigating this disturbance. Solusek Ro has sensed a form of his own power flowing from these portals, and has sent an ambassador here on his behalf to learn more. The Argin-Hiz launch event has been designed for groups of level 100 characters. The first phase of the Argin-Hiz launch event begins on Friday, July 4th, 2014. The second phase will begin on Monday, July 7th, 2014. This event content will be available in game until Saturday, September 6th, 2014. "You still do not trust me. I understand. Be wary of all things, but do not be foolish! We both can see that [doom] approaches." - Lanys T`vyl Lanys T`vyl is waiting for you in the Ethernere-Tainted West Karana. She would like for you to further investigate this situation. The last artifact needed to send Lady Lendiniara back to her home may be located beyond the ash portals that have appeared in these areas, and the only way to know for sure is to gather other powerful allies to your side to investigate for yourself. | |

Ether to Near is followed by "Heads for the Hills". Kill 30 in Qeynos hills. Same NPC key word is Access Must do the first one to get it. This is also a solo task and yes you must do damage in group is not good enough.

I've had reports that these [creatures] are out in the hills too. It's my job to help protect travelers on the roads as well as those in the city. After that head to Dead hills
