You say, 'I will be your personal courier.'

Master Niska grabs a tin box resting by her feet. 'Take this to Master Rinmark and be quick about it!!'

You receive A Tin Box (identifies as "property of Rinmark"). Take it to "an Iksar master" in Timorous Deep (/loc?).

an Iksar master opens the box to reveal a variety of pebbles. 'How grand!! My pebbles!! Now I can continue with my rock garden!! Hmmm. You look familiar. Hey!! I bet you can help me complete my garden!! Would you please [assist old Rinmark in completing his rock garden]?'
Your faction standing with Swift Tails got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
    You gain experience!!

You say, 'I will assist old Rinmark in completing his rock garden.'

an Iksar master pours the pebbles into his pocket and hands the box to you. 'Take my box. Fill and combine within my box the following; a radiant meteorite, frontier fool's gold, petrified redwood, Rile's sand coin, sulfur stone, fragment of tektite, plains pebble, jade magma, heart of ice and an unholy coldstone. Return the full tin box to me and I shall reward you with a shackle of bronze.'

You receive an Empty Tin Box (identifies as "Empty Pebble Box"). Here is a breakdown of where each item can be found:
    1. Radiant Meteorite: Foraged in Burning Woods

    2. Frontier Fools Gold: 2 types of gold nuggets can be foraged in Frontier Mountains. The nugget we want cannot be sold to a vendor and is Identified (by the spell) as Frontier Fool's Gold. The other nugget that can be sold for a few silver identifies as Genuine Gold Nugget.

    3. Petrified Redwood: Foraged in Warsliks Woods or dropped by succulents in OT

    4. Rile's Sand Coin: Foraged in Timorous Deep

    5. Sulfur Stone: Infact called a Scarlet Stone it drops of of Drolvarg Scavengers in Firiona Vie. Identify will reveal its real name.

    6. Fragment of Tektite: Tektite is a Gargoyle inside the evil outpost in Over There. He wants new "eyes". What he wants are 2 carnelian gems. These can be bought from a gem vendor for 1-2p. Get an invis and sneak through the main tunnel. Tektite is located at the end on the left side. Hand him the 2 gems and he gives you
      "tektite".

    7. Plains Pebble: This can be foraged in the Karanas.

    8. Jade Magma: Drops off of Buranyai Miners in Frontier Mountains.

    9. Heart of Ice: Drops off of Ice Bone Skeletons, which spawn near the Sarnak Fortress in the Lake of Ill Omen zone.

    10. Unholy Coldstone: Drops off of goblin priests in Permafrost.

Combine to craft A Pebble Filled Box (identifies as "property of Rinmark"). Hand this in.

an Iksar master graciously accepts the tin box filled with precious rocks and gems. 'Thank you greatly, young Shasriz. For your deed, I bestow upon you the shackle of bronze!! You have completed the third rung. Alas, there is no time for celebration. I need your help in rescuing a [student] of mine.'
Your faction standing with Swift Tails got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
    You gain experience!!

Do you have to have a certain foraging level skill to get these foraged items. My level is stuck at 50

Spend 3 AAs in the general tab, and you can get Foraging to cap at 100. Helps tremendously.

You can still get the items at cap 50, just takes a lot longer. You have to successfully forage something, to get the rare chance you got the item you are looking for.

For those of us that can use the Identify spell, or don't have a clicky. The correct Gold Nugget reads "This item can be used in tradeskills" in its discription, but are otherwise identical to the false one, and you dont have to check to see if the one you just spent forever foraging is sellable. So you are welcome monks =p

    Tektite

    Well, here's my experience...

Got an invis at the PoK stone in OT...sneaked up past Tektite. Was behind and sneaking still...dropped invis, and got jumped by about 6 things. FD.

Healed up a bit, and hit sneak until it stuck. Snuck up behind Tektite, handed him the two Carnelians...got my Fragment of Tektite. FD again, necro invised me, ran home.

Done at level 27, Iksar Monk, so it does work.

Is the box combine broken as of March 12th? I can't get it to combine and I've quadruple checked the contents of the box. Only thing I can think is people have been wrong about which gold is the right one. I didn't ID it this time around (this is my 3rd time doing the shackles. Don't ask.)

The one that can be used in tradeskills is the one I want? Or no? If so, I have the TS one, and the combine isn't working.

As far as i know the container is bugged as of march 12th, i sent a bug report but never got a response from a GM. I have identified all of my items and am 100% sure they are the right ones but i get the "you cannot combine these item types in this container" message. Probably a result of the last patch to fix the other combining quest buggs. My monk is patiently waiting to finally finish these quests, having all the items needed for my shackle of Tynn.

Something I believe i've seen Posted here before, but judging from the problems some are posting, it needs to be put here again.

There are multiple forms of Rinmark. If he is up as Grandmaster Rinmark, Master Rinmark, or just plain ole' Rinmark; then someone started the Shackle of Tynnomium trial of Patience, and failed, or the spawn is bugged. NONE of these forms will work for this quest, the version of Rinmark you need is "An Iksar Master"

    Hope this helps.

The master will not give the container I tried saying "I would assist old rinmark with his rock garden" and "I will assist old rinmark in completing his rock garden" but neither would give the box to me... both did the eye meditation emote described below this post... I found that just say "Rinmark" would give the emote too... I did a /feedback about thsi hoping maybe it will be fixed next patch... This shackle is the only thing keeping me from my Tyn shackle.... I have already completed the copper/nickle key and the trial of patience and agility... just need the box so i can do the hand ins and finish the trial of clarity ... oh well can only hope...

    Hail all,
Was feeling foolhardy today while trying to wrap up some shackle quests.I needed to go see tektite but would you believe there was no invis caster in any zone around OT =/ Well I got my Tektite, here's how...

First wait until the goons leave around 11pm. Then approach the main entrance to the outpost from the west, targetting the gargoyle named Cor-something. When you are close enough start to sneak. Make sure you get to the side so you are indiff to Cor, then jump up on the platform and edge your way around behind him. I suggest going at it from the west because the statue on that side has a sword that is slightly raised off the ground so that you can sneak past it. The sword on the other side touches the ground and makes it more likely that you will come into the other gargoyles field of vision. I had to duck while passing the statue, but as I was passing Cor I had to stand back up. After that I snuck down the hall, gave the carnelians to Tektite, snuck back and out the same way.

I then realized I had been holding my breath the whole time :) I breathed a sigh of relief and made my way out of the zone...

Good luck on this step all :)

it really is MUCH simpler than that...
DON'T GO IN THE FRONT. :)
go past the cliff golem and wait there feigned until the goons leave, sneak up to tektite from his side, get under his platform, edge up to his feet, do the trade, back away. that simple.

    Shackle Info
    # Mar 13 2002 at 10:15 PM Rating: Excellent
I completed this quest today and recieved my shiny new shackle. Here is some info on the quest items.
Tektite: Invised and snuck up behind the named Gargoyle "Tektite" and gave him the two carnelian gems. Invis did not come off, and recieved the fragment. Of course, in true EQ fashion, took 2 steps away from the gargoyle after getting the gem, and invis dropped. Very nasty death by the hands of the General, 2 gargoyles, and Dragoon Barber. Ouch. It is No-Drop
Fools Gold: Foraged in Frontier Mountains.
Heart of Ice: Dropped off an Icebone skellie in LOIO. Icebones almost always drop them. No-Drop.
Jade Magma: Drops off a Burynai Miner in FM. Miners are the weakest of the Burynai in the zone, and it drops every time.
Petrified Redwood: You can either forage this in Warslik's Woods, or you can loot it off a succulent in OT. I have done both.
Plains Pebble: Forage in the Karanas. I foraged mine in NK. Very common item.
Radiant Meteorite: Foraged item in Burning Woods. I tried foraging this for an hour in BW, then finally gave up and auctioned to buy one for 20pp. I got a tell in 20 seconds flat with someone who had one. Hehe.
Riles Sand Coin: Foraged item from Tim. Deep. I foraged mine on the boat as I zoned in from the OT. Have also foraged one swimming to the Firepot Room from the island with the Iksar Master.
Sulfur Stone: Drops off a Drolvarg Scavenger in FV. It show in inventory as a scarlet stone. Scavengers always drop this stone. I got mine the same time I camped Kwinn the Outlander.
Unholy Coldstone: In my opinion, the hardest part of this quest. My friend (a lvl 37 monk) and I went to Permafrost and with the help of a 35 Ranger to snare (very important, especially in the King Room) went from the "Flag Room" up and down the hallway up to the main landing of the "King's Room" killing all the gobs in our way. Very few aggros, but every once in a while there were a few hairy pulls. Especially when we got bored and tried to clear the whole "Kings Room". The Ranger went down to watch my monk friend pull the gobs, and the next thing I knew all I saw was the Ranger high-tailing out of the room with an Ice Giant Diplomat on his butt. Yikes. After about an hour of running around, we both got our No-Drop stones.
Combine these stones in the box, and give it to the Iksar Master in TD. Good luck!

Someone earlier mentioned the message "the swiftails require further services of you." I received this message as well. I did not complete the response to "be her personal corier" at the time i completed last quest. I am hoping that doesnt matter and I can pick up were I left off. I too am receiving the further services message, can anyone confirm that this is a swiftail faction issue...and if so, what easy fast quests available to get vaction higher/ or killing what mobs raise this?

The answer to my own question is yes. Turned in a hundred bone chips to guard for faction with the swiftails (probably didnt need to do that many), then was allowed to receive the box.
    Tekite and Radiant Meteorite
    # Dec 12 2001 at 4:56 PM Rating: Default
Concerning the piece of Tekite: A lot of posts say you need two invisibilities. Perhaps this part of the quest was un-nerfed, but I used an invis potion outside of the outpost and went in. When I saw Tekite, I was behind him and began to sneak. Snuck up behind him, DID NOT strip off my invis, and handed in the carnelians - and invis didn't drop. I got my Tekite fragment, un-sneaked, and boogied out of there. Invis wore off naturally a while later.

The radiant meteorite. I spent around 4 hours in Burning wood, practicing FD, ID, etc.. and killing the occasional ash hornet for exp (level 41) and of course, foraging every time the button popped. I have yet to get the meteorite. The first two hours, I spent foraging at the DL zone line, the next two near the hornet nest. Do you have to be at a certain spot in the zone? Oh and by the way the guide I have states that the meteorite is nodrop, sounds like this quest got the nerf-stick. After I regain some patience and sanity and log back in, I plan to try foraging near the meteor at approximately neg1000 neg1000 according to eqatlas.com

Also, I have not seen any references to what the Petrified Sop Wood is used for...
