Call of the Forsaken Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor About Heroic Adventures - Heroic adventures in Call of the Forsaken scale in level: As low as Level 75 and up to current maximum level. - Scale is based on the highest level player present in the zone and affects difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels. - There is some variation/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task. - Time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes). - Collection items appear as ground spawns midway through tasks (you'll see an emote indicating their appearance). - Named mobs (or their PHs) spawn midway through tasks (usually, but always, at the same time collection items appear). - These tasks have individual 3-hour lockout timers (timer gained upon completion). Experience in Heroic Adventures - Mobs in these instances grant some experience, but the bulk of experience is earned upon task completion. - As of a patch in November 2014, less difficult tasks were tuned to reward less experience and more difficult ones were tuned to reward more. - For an added experience bonus, check out Guard Hamarn's "Daily Tasks". This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with Marla Gaslow (click for map image) in the Ethernere Tainted West Karana. TASK IN DETAIL ======================================================================== TRIGGERING THE TASK ======================================================================== You say, 'Hail, Marla Gaslow' Marla Gaslow says 'I heard that the village nearly burned to the ground. Is it true?' The farmer fights back tears as she speaks, 'At least not all was lost. Lives and crops were spared; I guess I should be thankful for that, but where will our families go? Surely things will get worse before they get better. We need [shelter] if we plan to survive.' You say, 'Shelter?' Marla Gaslow says 'There's a camp run by the McMannus family, just west of our village. They've managed to salvage much of their shelters and parts of their streams still run with clean, cool water. The survivors from my village need to seek refuge in their camp, but the McMannus family is weary of outsiders. We're simple farmers who lack the skills of negotiation. You, on the other hand, you've been places and seen things! I can tell by that sparkle of adventure in your eye. Please, _____, [help] us secure refuge in the McMannus' camp? I know this is something you can accomplish.' You say, 'We will help!' Marla Gaslow takes your hand gently in hers with a warm smile, 'Thank you, _____. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll show you the way to the village when you are [ready] to leave.' You have been assigned the task 'Seeking Refuge'. Marla Gaslow has asked that you help the displaced people of her village find refuge in the McMannus camp to the south. You say, 'Ready!' Marla Gaslow says 'This way, _____.' LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Ethernere Tainted West Karana. ======================================================================== STEP #1 ======================================================================== Seek out Einhorst McMannus and secure refuge for the villagers 0/1 (Ethernere Tainted West Karana) Task Window Says: Einhorst is the leader of the McMannus clan. You'll need to speak with him about seeking refuge for the displaced villagers. If You Get This Step: Einhorst McMannus is inside the western hut in the McMannus camp. You say, 'Hail, Einhorst McMannus' Einhorst McMannus says 'You reek of smoke and despair, traveler. I don't suppose you ventured here from our neighboring village, the one that just burned to the ground? If you've come seeking [refuge], I'm afraid you won't find it here.'' You say, 'They want refuge' Einhorst McMannus says 'Take a look around. This camp is made up of clan McMannus. We're strong, hardworking, and never accept defeat. This is why we are still here, and others have perished. The weak will not prosper within our walls.' The toughened barbarian looks you over with new interest, 'But you're not one of the weak ones, are you _____? I think there is more to you than your appearance lets on. If you can prove yourself useful, then I will see about letting you and your villagers into our camp, but you'll have to impress my family as well. Each of them will have tasks for you. Earn their respect, and you will earn mine.' ======================================================================== STEP #2 ======================================================================== Speak to Hefholm McMannus 0/1 (Ethernere Tainted West Karana) Task Window Says: You can find Hefholm in the cabin just east of Einhorst. If You Get This Step: Hefholm McMannus is in the cabin to the east. You say, 'Hail, Hefholm McMannus' Hefholm McMannus says 'Greetings, _____. Einhorst said I'd be paid a visit by someone looking for refuge in our camp, our home that was built by the McMannus family. It may not look like much now, but we will rebuild. If you want a place within our walls, you will need to aid our efforts. Our shelters are constructed with wood and thick mud, that hardens like rock when dry. Show that you have the strength and skill to gather supplies, and you will earn my respect.' Hefholm McMannus says 'This camp was built by my family. Our blood, sweat, and strength have kept us alive. We may have lost a great deal during recent events, but we will rebuild and be stronger than ever.' ======================================================================== STEP #3 ======================================================================== Gather wood to help build and repair structures 0/10 (Ethernere Tainted West Karana) Task Window Says: You'll need to collect wood to help rebuild structures. Einhorst mentioned you're trying to find refuge for some villagers. I hate turning folks away, but we already have too many mouths to feed. She's found in the southwestern corner of the main McMannus island. You say, 'Hail, Sahen McMannus' Sahen McMannus says 'Hail, _____. Let's make this quick. I need to focus my attention on the fields and mountains that surround our camp. We face many threats out here, but the Harrowing Horde are the worst. They suck the life out of the soil, leaving empty wasteland in their wake. I won't let you and your villagers into this camp unless I know for certain that you're strong enough to protect them, and yourself.
