About Heroic Adventures

- Heroic adventures in Call of the Forsaken scale in level: As low as Level 75 and up to current maximum level.
- Scale is based on the highest level player present in the zone and affects difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels.
- There is some variation/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task.
- Time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes).
- Collection items appear as ground spawns midway through tasks (you'll see an emote indicating their appearance).
- Named mobs (or their PHs) spawn midway through tasks (usually, but always, at the same time collection items appear).
- These tasks have individual 3-hour lockout timers (timer gained upon completion).

Experience in Heroic Adventures

- Mobs in these instances grant some experience, but the bulk of experience is earned upon task completion.
- As of a patch in November 2014, less difficult tasks were tuned to reward less experience and more difficult ones were tuned to reward more.

This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with Lark D`Tradis (click for map image) in Neriak Fourth Gate. She is located at 600, -1800, 67 (outside the tunnel due north of the bridge in the far northeastern part of the zone).

Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
- Level 75
- Completed "The Toll Road" (heroic adventure)



TASK SUMMARY

- Say "continue" to request the task and "ready to go" to zone in.

Step #1:
- Clear a path to sealed library 0/7
--- Kill update (brainwashed Teir`Dal knights and wizards).
- Clear a path to sealed library 0/7
--- Kill update (undead mobs).

Step #2:
- Obtain the library key from an ousted librarian 0/1
--- Kill ousted librarians until you loot a key (each librarian has two aggro-linked guards).
- Destroy the crystals that shield the library doors 0/4
--- Kill the four crystals (each has two aggro-linked guards).

- The task LOCKS at this point.

Step #3:
- Attempt to enter the sealed library 0/1
--- Click on the door (if a key was looted in previous step, the player with the key needs to click).

- At this point in the task, collectibles spawn in the zone (ground spawns) and a named (or its PH) has a chance to spawn.

Step #4:
- Defeat Shirik's ethereal guard 0/12
--- Kill 12 undead mobs; these spawn one at a time and attack (up to three mobs can be up at a time).

Step #5:
- Defeat Shirik's constructed guardian 0/1
--- DPS the gargoyle to 8% health.
- Defeat Diran D`Tradis 0/1
--- Aggro's after previous step completed; spawns an add at 76%, 31%, and 6% (locks health until adds are killed).

Step #6:
- Speak with Lark 0/1
--- Hail update

- As soon as the objective for Step #6 is done, the task completes.

Lark D`Tradis says, in Dark Elvish, 'I find it strange that those red eyed madmen all spoke Elder Teir`Dal, such a dialect is rare to hear even in the royal houses. Stranger still is the resistance we're facing in finding my father, even in his most reclusive hours I was always able to speak to him..' She sighs, looking more worried by the moment, 'If you are ready to [continue] on toward the library, just let me know.''

You say, 'Let's continue'

Lark D`Tradis says, in Dark Elvish, 'Excellent, are you [ready to go] now?'

You have been assigned the task 'The Sealed Gate'.

Using the information you gathered on your previous outing, Lark is sure her father has barricaded himself in the central library. She's still unsure what foolish endeavor he has undertaken, but needs your help to reach him before he does anything to endanger himself.

You say, 'Ready to go!'

Lark D`Tradis says, in Dark Elvish, 'I shall meet you on the road. I believe it was this way...'

STEP #1

Clear a path to sealed library 0/7 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: Using the information you've gathered on your previous outing, Lark is sure her father has barricaded himself in the central library. She's still unsure what foolish endeavor he has undertaken, but needs your help to reach him before he does anything to endanger himself.

Another group of soldiers stands guard on the road leading to the sealed library. There is nothing unsettling in their lifeless demeanor.

If You Get This Step: Kill update (brainwashed Teir`Dal knights and wizards).

Clear a path to sealed library 0/7 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: A small group of undead constructs has gathered to stand watch on the road leading to the library. Return their bones to the dust of the earth to gain safe entrance to the sealed chambers.

If You Get This Step: Standard kill update -- any undead mobs around the zone-in area count towards the step.

STEP #2

Obtain the library key from an ousted librarian 0/1 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill ousted librarians until you loot a key (each librarian has two aggro-linked guards).

Destroy the crystals that shield the library doors 0/4 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: A powerful magical force emanates from the library doors. In the distance you spot a pillar of light feeding energy to the sealed chambers. Dispersing this power at its source will surely expedite your entry.

If You Get This Step: Kill the four resonating crystals in the area. Each has two aggro-linked "a shield _____" mobs that hit for a max ~14,000 (stunnable; mezzable; charmable, but very resistant). Note that the focuser is an enchanter and will have buffed both with haste, and will cast mez spells on players. The crystals themselves have a fair amount of hitpoints, but don't attack back.

The door feels hot to the touch and immobile as if held in place by some great force.

After the crystals are destroyed, you see:

A brief flash of light fills the cavern as the crystal shatters into tiny fragments.

STEP #3

Attempt to enter the sealed library 0/1 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: Make your way back to the library door and attempt to open it.

If You Get This Step: Click on the door (if a key was looted in previous step, the player with the key needs to click). NOTE: Doing this leads to the trigger of three aggro mobs.

STEP #4
========================================================================

Defeat Shirik's ethereal guard 0/12 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: A hoard of necromantic beasts has come to halt your ingress. It seems Shirik truly does not want anyone interfering with his plans!

If You Get This Step: After attempting to open the library door, three undead mobs spawn and attack (hit for a max ~12,000; single-target rampage; flurry; stunnable; mezzable). You'll have to kill 12 mobs here. Each time you kill a mob, another one rushes in and attacks, up to a total of 12.

The anguished cries of the dead fill the air as necromantic guardians run through the library doors.

Note that if you drop aggro, the mobs will stay up and idle.

WARNING: Right after this step completes, a short script unfolds and then a named becomes aggro in front of the library doors.

STEP #5

Defeat Shirik's constructed guardian 0/1 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: After the previous step is completed, the gargoyle above the library aggro's and attacks. DPS it to 8% health to update the step.

It has four stances:

- Normal (lasts for first 25 seconds of the fight and does not repeat).

After the initial 25 seconds passes, the following three stances cycle:

- Enraged (lasts for 15 seconds)
--- immune to ranged DPS; frequently AE rampages; hasted attacks.

- Shielded (lasts for 10 seconds)
--- rooted in place; susceptible to ranged attacks; for every nuke or DOT cast on it AND for every 2% damage to it, casts directional AEs for 61k dmg (left/right/rear).

- Weakened (lasts for 15 seconds)
--- becomes unrooted; hasted attack speed.

Defeat Diran D`Tradis 0/1 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: Diran D`Tradis, Lark's elder half-brother, has been surveying your attempts to enter his father's fortress and has taken it upon himself to stop you. If saving Shirik means killing his power-crazed heirs, then so be it. Defeat him to gain entrance to the library.

If You Get This Step: Diran D`Tradis aggro's after a short script completes, following the previous step.

The sound of mockingly slow applause echoes out over the library.

A calm voice speaks in Elder Teir`Dal, 'So much bloodshed for a such misguided cause. Tell me, sister, why put these fools up to this?'

Lark D`Tradis looks up toward the top of the library, 'Brother? W... why has father done all of this?'

Diran D`Tradis glares down at his younger sibling with contempt, 'Always the fool, Songbird. Our dealings are none of your interest or concern. Must I slaughter your misguided allies to get you to leave us, or will cowardice simply overtake you again?'

Lark D`Tradis clenches her fist, choking back tears, 'Enough! You know better than anyone father will be killed for this revolt!'

Diran D`Tradis leaps down from the library's catwalk, landing with surprising grace for a fully armored knight.

Diran D`Tradis grins and calls out to you, 'Stop us, if you can!'

Diran D`Tradis says, in Elder Teir'Dal, 'Make peace with your gods.'

Diran D`Tradis hits for a max ~21,000; single-target rampages; and flurries. He has a lot of hitpoints and spawns a single add at 76%, 31%, and 6% (locks health until adds are killed). The adds hit for a max ~12,000 and are stunnable. As an add spawns, you see this emote:

Diran D`Tradis calls fourth a loyal guardian to bolster his defenses. (sic))

Diran`s guardian has been slain by _____!
A disembodied voice says, 'Turn back.'

Diran D`Tradis has been slain by _____!
Diran D`Tradis's corpse shouts, 'Sister, know well that you have damned our family!'

Lark D`Tradis says, in Dark Elvish, 'I am so sorry, brother...'

Speak with Lark 0/1 (Neriak Fourth Gate)

Task Window Says: Speak with Lark to determine your next move.

If You Get This Step: Hail Lark to complete the task.

You say, 'Hail, Lark D`Tradis'

Lark D`Tradis does her best to contain her sobbing, 'Brother...' She takes a moment to regain a measure of her composure, 'Though we were never particularly famous, our family is known for two things throughout Neriak, green eyes and mastery of elemental magic. Strange as it may sound, we've never studied necromancy. I fear now that it is not my father we will find within the library but his captors.'

Whatever lies within the sealed library will put an end to Lark's worries, one way or another...

Earns 20 AA's at level 105. Earned 21 or 22AA's (depending on toon) the second time around.

Small instanced zone so one would think collectibles would be easy to find. None of the buildings are accessible so no need to check those out. But I find the devs like to hide them behind rocks so you do need to check there!

Been doing this every day, since it's easily completed in an hour or so. But getting annoyed at how sometimes can only find 2 or 3 collectibles. (2 is my new low, just this morning, and that's after 20 minutes of scouting around the zone.) I have a sneaking suspicion they have spawn points that are inaccessible, such as on top of the buildings. While the AAXP is my primary goal, acquiring 4 scarce and valuable collectibles is certainly an important seconday consideration. It might be time to find a new HA to use for burning the daily LotD.

If the guard is a shield focuser then it's an enchanter type that often casts a minute-long mez on the tank. Both guards can be snared and then pulled away, leaving your group free to attack the Librarian or the crystal without adds. The guards are agro-linked to the Librarian and no matter how far away you stuck them they will amble back (slowly, if snared) to help out the Librarian. The two guards for the crystal will not agro if the crystal is attacked, as long as they've been planted far enough away.

The constructed guardian is a much tougher fight. His aoe nukes are dangerous. Best not to nuke when he's capable of casting those. They seem to be every-way directional since no placement of healers, even behind rocks, prevents the aoe nuke from hitting. Diran's adds are ordinary trash level mobs and just require a switch-off long enough to kill them.

This was not part of the mission I just did.
Once you get Shirik's Guardian down to 8% it runs off and seals itself behind the library doors.
The next step immediately after is to Speak with Lark. Hail her to complete the mission.

We found an apparent problem with the mechanics of the Diran fight. If you manage to kill all the adds, then wipe, by the time you get back in zone, he will likely have regenerated to full health. The adds dont spawn again, which at first thought sounds good. However, since you have to kill adds to make his health unlock, if there's no adds, there's now no way to get him past 74% where the first add would spawn.

We spent almost 3 hours on this task and got screwed out of finishing it.

It's not waves of 3 mobs. Three mobs come at you, when you kill one, another replaces it. Seems to be 3 spawn slots, that will spawn a total of 4 mobs sequentially. If you want to reduce the number of mobs, kill the new one that comes each time til you have killed 4 total.
