Pre-Requisites for Requesting: - Level 85 - Completed "The Missing Scroll" - Completed "Fourth Gate Investigation" - Completed "Cautious Recruitment" - Completed Ethernere Tainted West Karana raid "The Doomscale Horde" - Completed Bixie Warfront raid "Saving Jacyll" - Completed Dead Hills raid "Xulous Prime" - Must be illusioned as a Dark Elf Pre-Requisites for Participating: - Completed Bixie Warfront raid "Saving Jacyll" - Completed Dead Hills raid "Xulous Prime" You say, 'Hail, Prince Tarant Thex' Prince Tarant Thex says 'You? I had not expected you to dare to return here. I should slay you for your impertinence, but I might have need of you. Are you here with just a small [group], or have you actually brought a [force] with you?' You say, 'I have a force...' Prince Tarant Thex says 'Normally I would never involve outsiders in family matters, but these are unusual times. The king and queen have been at war for decades. Their battles have always been quiet and indirect. But recently both have seen [visions] from some other realm, and that has changed things.' You say, 'Visions?' Prince Tarant Thex says 'I haven't seen them, and obviously they don't confide in me. What I know is that they have had visions of powerful creatures -- golems, actually -- from some other realm. They have been building these creatures and plan to use them to [destroy each other]. Perfect, really: They don't have to get directly into battle with each other and therefore don't risk looking weak if they lose.' You say, 'Destroy each other?' Prince Tarant Thex says 'Fools. They want each other dead but won't take any real risks. Their hatred for each other is matchless, but their unwillingness to fail is just as great. I can't interfere; I can't risk the wrath of both of them. But they hate you immensely already, as any dark elf will. You could go and [destroy these golems]. As long as they both lose, then things won't change. If one of them gains control of the dark elves the world would certainly change in a way you would not appreciate.' You say, 'We'll destroy these golems' Prince Tarant Thex says 'Good. Go then. I can send you to where they confront each other even now, as soon as you are [ready].' You say, 'I am ready...' Prince Tarant Thex says 'Go then. I shall send a servant to return you if you need to flee or if by some miracle you manage to complete your task.' LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... Triggering the Event All mobs are non-aggro until the event is triggered. Speak with either the Queen or the King to trigger the event. With the Queen, you see: You say, 'Hail, Queen Cristanos Thex' Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'What are you doing here, scum? Go away. [What happens] here has nothing to do with you.' You say, 'What happens?' Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'This is of NO MATTER TO YOU! Begone! If you [interfere] in any way, I will destroy you and use your corpse as a scullery maid!' You say, 'Me? Interfere?' Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'That can be the only reason you are here. Fine, the king will have to wait. I will destroy you first!' King Naythox Thex shouts 'In this one thing, wife, I will join in your hatred. But when they are slain we will finish what we started!' With the King, you see: You say, 'Hail, King Naythox Thex' King Naythox Thex shouts 'Well, it's you. I see you've come to witness the queen's [fall]. Please hold back your laughter at her suffering. I want her to hear mine.' You say, 'Her fall?' King Naythox Thex shouts 'Of course she will fail. That is her destiny. You just [sit aside] and watch. Do NOT interfere. I know you will wish to assist me, but I can't allow that. Her defeat must be at my hands.' You say, 'We will not sit aside!' King Naythox Thex shouts 'I said, stay out of this. If you [insist] on interfering, I won't hesitate to kill you first.' You say, 'We insist!' King Naythox Thex shouts 'Well then, my dear wife will have to wait.' Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'No, husband. I will help you destroy them. This is NOT their affair!' Once they're done shouting at each other, the two golems aggro (zonewide auto-aggro on anyone in the zone). The Golems To complete the event, you have to kill both "Bone Crusher" and "Nightmare Devourer". There are no balancing or proximity requirements, and they have fairly long leash ranges (will warp back to spawn point if leashed). Due to their mechanics, you'll probably want to keep them separated from each other. Each golem is auto-aggro on everyone in the zone; summons from 100% health; hits for a max ~44,000 (no flurry, no rampage), and has some tricks. Bone Crusher Bone Crusher has a few emotes: Bone Crusher shouts 'Sooo cooooold!' --- 5-second warning for the AE "Cold Shock": Cold Shock: PB AE 110', Chromatic (-900) 1: Decrease HP when cast by 100000 2: Decrease Movement by 60% 3: Inhibit Melee Attacks by (45%) Get the one called _____, my creation! --- 10-second warning for the targeted AE "Sonic Shock": Sonic Shock: Targeted AE 75', Chromatic (-900) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 70000 per tick 2: Increase Effective Casting Level by 80 As long as Bone Crusher is a live, auras called "an energy pulse" will appear from the cave behind King Naythox Thex. These auras will target a specific player, who should kite the aura around until it dissipates. The auras move at a very slow speed, so should be easy for any class to kite. Anyone caught in one of these auras will have "Zap" chain-casted upon them. An energy pulse moves toward _____. --- This is the emote that indicates the aura's target. Zap: Single Target, Chromatic (-900) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 50000 2: Stun (0.05 sec) There may be another emote missing here (what is it?), one which indicates the spawn of "a power-loaded crystal" which AEs "Explosive Reaction": Explosive Reaction: PB AE 45', Unresistable (-900) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 80000 2: Knockback (5) and Toss Up (5) Once Bone Crusher dies, the Cold and Sonic emotes stop, crystals spawn spawning, and the energy pulses stop spawning. Nightmare Devourer Nightmare Devourer has an aura around it, "Bone Decay". If anyone dies while inside this aura, 1x "a voracious ghoul" spawns in place of their corpse (for mob abilities, see the notes below). Bone Decay: Single Target, Chromatic (-900) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 20000 per tick 2: Decrease Movement by 30% It also buffs itself "Death's Reflection" throughout the event: Death's Reflection: Self 0', Unresistable (0) 1: Increase Chance to Reflect Spell by 20% It has one emote-based spell attack. The one called _____! Take that one's essence, my pet! --- 10-second warning for the targeted AE "Grave Chill": Grave Chill: Targeted AE 75', Chromatic (-900) 1: Decrease Mana by 2000 per tick 2: Inhibit Melee Attacks by 70% 3: Decrease Attack Speed by 170% Nightmare Devourer spawns health-based adds called "a voracious ghoul" (the same add type that spawns upon player deaths). These spawn in waves of four at the golem's location, appearing every 8% health (four adds at 92%, 84%, 76%, 68%, 60%, 52%, 44%, 36%, 28%, 20%, 12%, and 4%). These adds hit for a max ~25,000. If the player target of "a voracious ghoul" is too far ahead of them (if you attempt kiting), they proc "Grasp of Bones": a voracious ghoul shouts 'If you insist on running from me, _____, I shall simply have to be more coercive!' Grasp of Bones: Single Target, Magic (-1000) 1: Root Note also that these adds get stronger as the event progresses: Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'Yes! The longer you wait, the stronger my pet's ghouls will become!' Once Nightmare Devourer dies, the the "Grave Chill" emote stops and you'll get no more ghoul spawns (ghouls will despawn once the event completes, but NOT if Bone Crusher is still alive). Event Failure & Reset If the event is left idle for more than about 60 seconds, everything despawns and resets, and all player corpses warp to the zone-in area. The delay causes a moment's respite. No doubt this confrontation will happen again. Completion Kill the two golems to complete the event. King Naythox Thex shouts 'Impossible! I guess you knew you could not defeat me, Cristanos. If you must rely on outsiders to ensure your survival, then surely you and your followers are doomed. Come, it is time we retired.' Queen Cristanos Thex shouts 'What? You fool! My hatred for you grows even stronger! Come, we have plans to make.' Loot NOTE: In addition to chest loot, everyone in the zone receives 10x "Medal of Heroism" (used as an alternative way obtain raid drops, from Requisitioner Sheon (map image), the Tier 1 raid vendor in the northwestern Qeynos camp of the Ethernere Tainted West Karana).
