Master Kyvix (/loc?) needs you to track down an item called the Kor Sha Candlestick. It is in two pieces.

First speak with Keeper Rott (/loc?):

    You say, 'Hail, Keeper Rott'

Keeper Rott bows before you. His eyes are kept wide by the pins which distort his eyelids. 'Greetings! You have stumbled upon the cave of the Keepers. We record the arcane secrets of the Brood of Kotiz. We have scribed many spells and make them available to all those who are deserving. Please, have a look.'

You say, 'I am the chosen occultist.'

Keeper Rott kneels before you abjectly. 'Oh, great occultist! I am glad you have arrived, but I do not have the artifacts Kyvix seeks. You will have to seek out the sarnak revenants who still hold the precious stem and base. Get them and take them with your occultist skullcap back to Master Kyvix. Since you are headed in the general direction, I also have an [additional mission], if you do not mind.'

Kill "a sarnak revenant" in the fort in Lake of Ill Omen (/loc?) to loot a Foot of Candlestick (identifies as "Foot of a Kor Sha Candlestick") and Stem of Candlestick (identifies as "Stem of a Kor Sha Candlestick"). Return both pieces to Master Kyvix.

    You say, 'Hail, Master Kyvix'

Master Kyvix says 'So you are expecting to earn your way to rank of
revenant, eh? You shall when I have the base and stem of the candle your
    occultist skullcap.'

Give him the pieces and your Occultist Skullcap.

Master Kyvix grabs the candle parts and puts them in an odd pouch, then takes your cap which disintegrates in his palm. He hands you another cap. 'Welcome, Revenant ______. You have done well. The Harbinger awaits you. He
    seeks a [new revenant].'

Your faction standing with Brood of Kotiz got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
    You gain experience!
You receive 6 gold from Master Kyvix.

Need opening dialogues, faction requirements if any.

you know, this skullcap quest is practically easy, all you gotta do is take a grp (lvl 20-30) and go to the castle in lake of ill omen, then go inside and go up and down the hall to the main sarnak that drops the jade chodiki prod and search for the reverant in the other halls around it,i found mine in the entrance tunnel on other side of the fort, he DOES drop both peices, i got them both in 15 mins or less but i'm lvl 53 nec with crappy gear, lol. Just wait for him to spawn then keel him. might be a bit obvious that i got it so quickly but if i was lvl 27 or somthing i'd prolly get the same thing. good luck for whoever tries it. high lvl people help alot...i don't when i'm low on plat ;)
    I still dont get it

Have been chasing that revenant for long time. Almost a year now, occasionally, bu it seems I am having particularly bad luck Didnt have much luck so far. Now, I seem to understand the quest has been changed recently. My understanding is that Grype will give one of the two pieces of the candelstick now (for bringing him the other price?) - where do we get the other one from? The Halfling in FV or the Revennat in LOIO? I cant seem to find either.
    Thanks,

I did this quest at 18. Got the previous skullcap by sheer dumb luck (gave the key to the right baker without IDing it). I was then lucky enough to get into a sarnak group at loio. 1 hour later i got both peices and almost a level. Gated back to WCab turned them in and got over half yellow and dinged to 19.

Its almost too easy now with the fact that you can loot both pieces in the sarnak fort...

Keeper Rott says spiritcallers in LOIO took two pages near the lake, so I started hunting them. Have killed many, but still nothing appears to be what I'm after. Have gotten Faded Velishoul's Tome page and spiritcaller beads... hmmm. Please post if anyone discovers anything.

Suddenly my screen went black and EQ and my machine in general went weird. When I tried to log back on, there was a strange message while loading about being hit by Brittlebane and adding vanilla taste to Ice giants. What the hell is that? Something in the game, hack-attack, same guy posting above, what? If you have ANY idea, pls post a reply, or email me: buchter@email.dk

Well I finally found the halfling swashbuckler last night on MT. He attacked me first but it ended with his death just the same. Kinda feel PO'd as I have been hunting him for a while and now you can get both parts at the Sarnak Fort....? Oh well live and learn. Anyway he does still spawn in FV but why would anyone care anymore?

Got the little blighter yesterday on Nameless. Did it as a guild event with 12 30-40 characters a 50+ cleric saving our asses and a 50+ warrior pulling and doing crowd control.

Spent about 5 hours pulling everything in the NE corner to the valley by the giant camp. Cleared the entire open area to the south of the valley, the giant camp and a fair area around that multiple times - no show even though we had two druid continuously checking track.

Then we gave up on this plan and moved to the muddy hill south of the valley (the muddy knoll perhaps). We identified a possible spawn pattern there. After clearing the hill we got a lull in the spawns of drolvargs and frogloks. Kwinn the Outlander would pop and once he was killed we would get a big wave of drolvargs and frogloks. In between these we cleared all the way out to the drolvarg camp with the camp fire south of the hill. We just about held the hill through these. After about six to ten cycles of this, the halfling swashbuckler spawned on the hill itself. Took about 3 hours. Our druid checked track moments before he was spotted and he did not appear. Suggests he did actually spawn on the hill where we saw him. Fortunately, the HS he hates everybody so he aggroed on us (saved chasing him across no-mans land)

We all descended on him with hate in our eyes and he died in a second. Looted the stein (which is now labelled a stein rather than sloshing stein - it identifies as crafted by GRYPE so I assume it is the one we need).

Great experience, everyone in the 2 groups we had levelled with several getting all the way through a hell level (30,35 or 40).

Big up to the Blood Kin massive.

I was camping Ancient Jarsath when they reset the zone. When I logged in right after the reset I ran up to the Drolvarg Temple. Soon after I had Red Eye Jack on track and killed him. Soon after that the Halfling Swashbuckler showed up on track. Heading out from the temple he was a ways to the right but not too far since he was on bard track. He spawned within an hour of the server up, not sure if this happens everytime though, but it was the first time I'd seen him since camping the AJ.

Here's a tip for people looking for the swashbuckler:

He spawns in FV near the enterance to the east valley towards Swamp of No Hope. You can tell you're in the right place because the roamer pathing boundery is outlined by the change of ground texture and a loose string of boulders. This is just NW of the giants.

I suspect he's on a timer, not a PH spawn. After a server message "blah blah blah (zones with ships) will respawn is <so many min>", rush to that spot after the respawn and he'll be there.

Finally completed the 6th iksar necro skullcap quest. Posting the info here, hoping it helps you find the spawns.

The stem of the candlestick was easy. My druid partner and I went to the sarnak fort in Ill Omen. The sarnak revenant was already up, located about midway thru the fort from the back door. Dropped the stem first time. Wasn't too hard, although I can see how the adds could be dangerous at lower levels.

As expected, the Halfling Swashbuckler was an incredibly huge headache. Camped in Fironia Vie four times, from level 35 until recently at level 44. The first 3 times, my druid partner and I camped south of the giant fort at the eastern zone edge. Zip, zilch, nada. Spent a total of about 20 hours there, killing every drolvarg, froglok, and lamprey in sight. Never even saw him on track.

3 days ago, I continued camping for him. This time near the location posted on this website (3000, -2200) and also along the muddy hill. (Thanx for the info, Smaugg). Even at level 44, I was having difficulty holding down the muddy hill, due to the incredible number of wandering drolvargs and frogloks. After my pet was killed for the umpteenth time, I feigned death and rested along the path to the Swamp of No Hope zone.

When my druid partner came online and ran from Dreadlands to assist me in the camp, she caught the Halfing Swashbuckler on tracking and attacked him. I ran like crazy to her, so excited that I didn't care how many adds I pulled along with me. We made short order of the Swashbuckler, and I quickly looted the stein. About 30 seconds later, I was killed by the 2 frogloks and drolvargs I'd brought along. I've never been happier about dying and losing exp though. :)

The Swashbuckler had been moving north, and was killed at p2300, n2100. This was on the side of the downward-sloping hill, just west of the giant fort.

Swashbuckler also dropped a No Drop foil and black rogue-only armor, as mentioned in previous posts.

I can only guess that 1) I was either very, very lucky, or 2) Killing the drolvargs and frogloks near the muddy hill someone triggered the spawn. This seems to make sense, because I'd been killing the same mobs south of the giant fort for a combined 20 hours, and nothing had ever happened.

Also FYI, Grype seems to appear in Cabilis only after 10PM gametime, so don't freak like I did when you don't see him across from the bar.

Well, time to camp the equally ridiculously rare Red Eye Jack, and finish the 7th skullcap quest. I'm already sick of Fironia Vie.

Send tells to me online if you need any info on quests 1-6.

Important note: I had trouble getting Grype to talk to me, initially. I fed him many Cabilis Pale Ales, but he never gave out the quest. I tried asking a number of questions, and asking "Do you have the base of the candlestick?" finally got him responding to the quest correctly.
    Finally killed him

I'm on the Torv. server. He spawned on the muddy hill referenced on other posts at around 11:15pm CDT on 8/14/01. Con'd blue to me at lvl 30. My 33 monk buddy and I killed him quickly, no prob. FYI - Kwinn (for Monk quest) spawned about 4 minutes before him. Unfortunately, froggies killed Kwinn before we could kill him :(

Well, finally at level 52 I managed to get him to spawn. I killed everything that moved near the giant fort, including the Ancient Jarsath, which drops a medalion for Veeshan key. I don't know if it was a coincidence but the AJ seems to folloew the same path that the Swashbuckler is supposed to follow. Maybe he is a PH. No, idea, just a thought. BTW the AJ was blue at 52.

Too bad the sixth skullcap is fairly weak at this level, but at least I can say I did it....finally.

    Additional Mission?
    # Jul 25 2001 at 3:33 PM Rating: Default
Has anyone figured out what the "additional mission" yields? It would appear that Goblin Spirit Callers are the NPC's that drop these four pages that Rott is missing, the first 2 in FV, the second 2 "near the lake" presumably loio. Any ideas?
Halfling Swashbuckler dead, after a mere 1-2 hours looking f
    # May 17 2001 at 2:46 AM Rating: Default
When I found the halfling swashbuckler, he was walking across the flat hilltop, right next to the giant camp in Firiona Vie. He was heading from the hill, towards the giant camp, presumably to go down past the zone to the Swamp of No Hope.

I had logged on my level 44 necromancer to see if I could find this little guy, and get that skullcap quest finished, so I ran to Firiona from Cabilis, going through the Swamp. I decided that the flat hilltop next to the giant camp was sparse enough to keep clear by myself, but busy enough where I would have a chance to see this elusive hairball. I summoned a level 44 pet, buffed it with Augment Death, and threw on Call of Bones. This way, I could kill anything that wandered by in fairly short order, but I concentrated my attacks on the passing frogloks. Most of the things around this area were green at level 44, but a few of the higher level drolvarg and frogloks were blue, as well as all the giants in the nearby camp. After maybe an hour, going on two hours, I had sat down to meditate while I waited for another target to wander past, when lo and behold, the halfling swashbuckler walked right past me. I quickly stood up, threw engulfing darkness at him to get him to run over out of the traffic lanes, and sent my pet to pummel him into dirt. He died very quickly; he was green at 44, but died quickly enough where I would guess his level to be closer to 30.

On the corpse I found the stein, a foil (rapier-type sword), and a full suit of black armor, all of which were "no drop" items. The armor and the weapon were useable by gnome and halfling rogues only. The foil was 5.0 weight, 23 delay, 6 damage, and I think magic. The black armor was basically leather as far as weight and AC.

Got my cap :) The halfling is very rare and Kwinn the outlander is not a ph for him. I was in FV for a week 5hours a night before i saw him. He spawned between a rock and an alcove at the zone wall on the flat hill top near the giant camp :)
    Good luck finding him.

When I finished the Occultist Skull cap Quest this is what was said by Master Kyvix "Go to Keeper Rott and tell him you are [the chosen occultist]."

It seems some of the information is a bit sketchy on this quest. So was the informatino on the Occultist Skull Cap. I think it is because the quests have been slighty changed and fixed from post to post.

If anyone could give me clue as to where IKeeper Rott, it would be most appretiated.
