There is an NPC named Ged Twigborn who wanders the forest. He can usually be spotted in one of two places: Either along the same wall as the zone to the Commonlands, or by turning on the path off the main road from the sign pointing towards Freeport.

Ged will make you some Wolfskin Gloves if you give him a high quality wolf pelt.

wolf pelts

HQ, MQ, LQ and Ruined wolf pelts are available in Everfrost. Statistically, if you kill 250 arctic wolves there, you will receive approximately 100 ruined, 20 LQ, 12 MQ, 5 to 6 HQ and about 10-15 white wolf pelts (useless?). The same approximate statistics apply to bear pelts also. Although in the case of bear pelts, the white polar bear pelts are not useless...see Cindl in Halas. Happy trails.

The wolfs in Qhills aren't the only ones that drop quality pelts. Almost all of the wolves in Misty Thicket drop them. O Ya BTW, u cannot get faction hits from killing animals outside of Surefall.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 2:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 24 2000 at 12:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What the hell are you guys talking about druids attacking animals for anyway...this is supposed to be about a quest. If you want to talk about Druids go to the druid section of the site and put some information that actually relates to the quest.
Faction Hit
# Aug 22 2000 at 6:21 PM Rating: Default
There is NO faction hit whatsoever for killing animals....you will only get aggro'd if you are killing another animal AT THAT TIME...if you kill a wolf...and walk off...nothing will happen....but if you are ATTACKING a wolf and a druid or other animal walks by....they will aggro you!

Animals have "hidden" faction (at least some do). If you kill enough bears that would leave you alone, they will no longer do so. AFAIHBT by a druid, killing normal bears may lead to the grizzly by the druid circle aggro'ing on you. And the druids will assist the grizzly, NOT you.

Maybe my friend was wrong, but I'd be careful. That's all I was saying.

WHAT??? My druid has been killin bears since he was a n00b. The only bears ya don't want to kill are the ones in Surefall Glade, they have faction hits.

I don't know what Kellarin is talking about, but the only faction hits I've heard of for killing animals is killing the bears in Surefall Glade.
Animal Killing
# Aug 03 2000 at 9:56 PM Rating: Good
As a druid, I kill animals like it's going out of style. Look at the spells you're
given as a druid, snare and the (scare animal series); that is one of the most highly effective solo techniques. What about charm animal? I'm sure you've killed using that little ditty. Druids are sort of like park rangers, we
"manage" wildlife...
Ummmm2

Idon't kill bears and i kill wolves as little as possible, but bats are a good experiance giver on low levels. Will killing bats lower your faction with NPC druids? (also there are no bats in high level areas so i don't have to worry about one aggroing me at a druid circle)
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 01 2000 at 5:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Try killing bears as a druid, then go to the druid circle. Have a grizzly walk by, aggro on you, and then the druids assist the bear and suddenly you're KOS to the circle. I'd stop killing animals if I were you....
RE: Ummmm
# Sep 06 2000 at 9:06 PM Rating: Default
wrong. i have killed at LEAST 75 bears(i KoS brown bears for the chance at a HQ skin hehe) and the grizzlies at the druid ring still con amiably. you might be talking about the named bear in nk, he might KoS, and the druids might help him, but other than that, there is NO faction whatsoever. for a druid/ranger, it's like killing beetles. they help each other, but if it doesnt catch you in the act of fighting another animal of th same type(ie. bears assist bears, wolves assist wolves...) then it will NOT aggro you. the only bears/wolves that HAVE faction are the bears in surefall glades, but you're not supposed to be killing bears anyway. and some NPCs will assist bears and wolves even if you dont attack back( stupid cros...) so just dont attack animals near them. BTW there is not such thing as "hidden faction". if there was there would be sooo many ppl wondering why bats/rats/beetles/wasps dont already KoS them.
Answer

I don't think so. I have a druid who frequently kills animals and it seems to have no REAL affect on the game, but is a bad idea if you are a hard core roleplayer.
Question
# Jul 17 2000 at 8:57 PM Rating: Default
By getting the wolfskin gloves that means you have to Kill a wolf right? now won't that effect your standing as a druid.
Actually..expanded
# Jul 17 2000 at 3:57 PM Rating: Default
Only the gray wolves drop quality pelts. They occur in Qeynos Hills and Kithicor. However there is a faction hit with Wolf for killing them.
actually, not true.
# Jul 12 2000 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
The only wolfs in Old Norrath that actually drop the different trys of pelts (HQ, MQ, or LQ) are the ones in Qeynos Hills, they drop the HQ pelts.
Where to get a HQ wolf pelt
# Jul 09 2000 at 12:43 AM Rating: Default
Almost every zone in Old Norrath has wolves in it. Coyotes, black wolves, gray wolves, snow wolves, etc. will all occasionally drop HQ wolf pelts.
RE: Where to get a HQ wolf pelt
# Apr 11 2001 at 1:45 PM Rating: Default
Actually, I have never seen a pelt on a Coyote. I have killed lots looking for ruined pelts for tailoring, and finally had to give up looking. A tailoring guide said this, and I didn't agree... After a few dozen kills, I agree now. :)

RE: Pelts
# Feb 16 2001 at 11:42 PM Rating: Default
Seen a HQ pelt drop VERY raley off Shadow Wolves in Misty Thicket.
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 28 2000 at 10:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I THINK this is always sold by that ogre dude in WFP near the gate, go down in his goods list a bit, every time i checked there was a HQ wolf pelt, and when i purchased one from him, they were still there to buy.....
