Lord Qyzar is standing on the parapet one level up in the SK guild, at +1005, -150.

    You say, 'Hail, Lord Qyzar'

Lord Qyzar looks upon you with a sneer. 'What is the year of our birth and who was our Father?'

You say, 'The year is 371 AG and our father is Rile.'

Lord Qyzar says 'You are a student of our ways? I would hope so. I seek a knight in search of a way to prove his allegiance and a way to earn his [zealot khukri].'

You say, 'I want a way to earn my zealot khukri.'

Lord Qyzar says 'In search of a zealot khukri? I have heard much of your deeds to aid us. I offer it to you in exchange for your service. I have dispatched a knight named Grizzle to seek out the Kromdul fortress called Chalp. He was to secretly map Chalp and return with a [Chalp diagram]. He has yet to return. Perhaps you can [rescue Grizzle].'

    You say, 'Chalp diagram?'

Lord Qyzar grimaces in pure disgust. 'I have been awaiting the Chalp diagram from a knight named Grizzle, but alas, he has proven himself weak. He has been taken prisoner by one of the Kromdul of Chalp. If only there were another knight I could send to [rescue Grizzle] and return the Chalp diagram...'

You say, 'I will rescue Grizzle.'

Lord Qyzar says 'If you can find the knight in Chalp and have him hand you the Chalp diagram, you shall become a zealot and wield a zealot khukri. All I need are the Chalp diagram and your knight khukri.'

Grizzle is actually "an Iksar knight" in Warsliks Wood. If he's not resting on the plaza near the Cabilis entrance (-2020, -720), he's probably a prisoner of the giants. Go to the giant fort and find the enclosed building with an opening at either end. The giant that spawns there (-960, +1090) is sometimes "a forest giant" with no evergreen/greenwood/sapling appended. When you attack him you'll see this somewhat mangled emote (it actually says this whether or not the knight is already sitting near Cabilis):

a forest giant covers a pouch as to something from jumping out. 'You not get lizard!! You be squashed!!'

When you kill him, if Grizzle wasn't already at Cabilis, "an Iksar knight" springs from the corpse and starts running toward Cabilis, where he takes up his resting spot.

You say, 'Hail, an Iksar knight'

an Iksar knight wipes the sweat from his forehead and spits some flarefire seeds on the ground near your feet. 'Whew!! Good to be back and safe at the Cabilis Gate. The troopers will protect us.'

You say, 'Do you have the Chalp diagram?'

an Iksar knight spits out some flarefire seeds. 'Great!! Sent to retrieve the Chalp diagram. I will give them to you, but I want you to do me a little favor first. I want you to [retrieve some spells] I lost. They are incorrectly scribed and useless, but I yearn for their return nonetheless.'

You say, 'How can I retrieve some spells?'

an Iksar knight spits flarefire seeds on you. 'Oops!! Sorry. Yeah!! You go to Chalp and get two incorrectly scribed spells which they grabbed from me. The third one, I threw in a river crossing by Chalp. It was in a bottle and probably drifted way down the river. Bring me all three and also a shovel and I will make it worth your while.'

You say, 'You really like those flarefire seeds, don't you?'

an Iksar knight spits some flarefire seeds on your face. 'What? Interested in flarefire seeds? There you go. Ha!!'

Go kill forest giant saplings in Warsliks Wood until you loot a Misscribed Gate (identifies as "Scribbling 'Gree..?'") and a Misscribed Lifetap (identifies as "Scribbling of a mountain"). Go swimming in the northwest corner of the zone near +4235, +4220 and find a bag that picks up as Scroll in a Bottle (identifies as "Misscribed Fear"). Buy a shovel. Give all three items to the knight.

an Iksar knight spits flarefire seeds on your chest. 'Is this all? Listen up!! I asked for the misscribed spells; Fear, Lifetap and Gate, and also, a shovel.
an Iksar knight spits flarefire seeds on your chest. 'Is this all? Listen up!! I asked for the misscribed spells; Fear, Lifetap and Gate, and also, a shovel.
an Iksar knight spits flarefire seeds on your chest. 'Is this all? Listen up!! I asked for the misscribed spells; Fear, Lifetap and Gate, and also, a shovel.
an Iksar knight accidently swallows a mouthful of flarefire seeds. 'ACCCKK!! I can't believe you did it!! Here is the Chalp diagram.'

He then despawns. (He may respawn near Cabilis and hurry off to go digging, but it's not germane to this quest.

Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis could not possibly get any better.
    You gain experience!!

    You receive Chalp Diagram.

Return to Lord Qyzar and give him the knight's khukri and the Chalp diagram.

Lord Qyzar says 'There shall be no zealot khukri until I have the Chalp diagram and your knight khukri.'

Lord Qyzar says 'At last!! The Chalp diagram. I shall see that the emperor gets this at once. You have proven yourself more than just a mere knight, you are a zealot. Being new to the temple we have need of you in a [matter of betrayal].'

Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis could not possibly get any better.
    You gain experience!!
You receive 16 gold from Lord Qyzar.

    You receive your Zealot's Khukri.

    where is Grizzle/Iksar knight?
    # Jan 30 2002 at 11:03 PM Rating: Default
Not sure if this is part of the quest... I used to see Grizzle/Iksar knight all the time, sitting in front of some building at the place where you enter WW from West Cab. That was before I started working on the quest. Now that I finally have everything with me (2 spells, bottle, shovel), he's not there anymore! I tried going there at different time, and could never find him. Any suggestion where he might me? I don't know if it's just coincidence that I keep missing him, or if this is part of the quest. I also tried wandering around the tunnel, like someone suggested, but no sign of him. Thanks
what is the next one after this?

what do i do after i get the zealots khukri? and who do i talk to? any info would be appreciated.
    Where is the knight??
    # Nov 18 2001 at 7:52 AM Rating: Decent
Same problem here, I cant find Grizzle. I know I'm not missing him since I have taken a high level tracker with me, and yes I did all the talking with Lord whats his name. I wonder if they have turned Grizzle into a very rare spawn, it would be typical of them to create a bottleneck like that.

    # Nov 24 2001 at 6:07 AM Rating: Default
The knight wanders off into the woods near the tunnel entrance leading to LIO. It used to be that he would dig, drop the obsidian hilt and then run off, depopping. He no longer apparently does this, and instead just stands there outside the tunnel entrance (I had followed him a few times trying to get the hilt, which I thought might be part of another quest). That is probably why he doesn't appear at his usual spot outside Cab

I've read this page and everlore...info seems to be the same, I thank you for people that gave loc of the third spell..I have obtained all the spells...bought the shovel, seen the knight while doing this quest and before I did this quest...but not I have everything...ready to get it over with, he's not there...no biggie...ill just go kill "a forest giant" to make him spawn right?...WRONG.....I've killed that giant, everytime I attack he hides the lizard back in hsi pouch, never say's the lizard escapes, that time he agro'd to me while I was charging him, called me a scumsucker also....so I figured I had to take him by surprise and the lizard could take off....so I waited, killed a evergreen that popped after in the same spot and waited.....he popped...I HT'ed him, and kill him quick...went back to cabilis right after.....nothing....
    Can someone help?

Assuming you have done the mumbo jumbo talk with the guy that will give the sword go to WW. As soon as you zone go to where the guards are. the night will be in visible range straight away a little to the left. Hail him and do the chat thingy. Then u need 4 items:

    1. Bottle with a scroll loc 4235, 4205
    2. Shovel, sold by Klok Dytar in East Cabilis
    3. Misscribed Lifetap dropped from a "Forest Giant Sapling"
    4. isscribed Gate dropped from same giant.

Give these 4 items to the knight and he will give you the item to give to the guy that gives you the sword.

Forest Giant Sapling conned red and yellow to me at 16. I was able to kill the yellow without much effort but I didnt try the red. I tried using my 52 chanter to make it safer but of the 3 times i killed he never dropped a scroll. Trivial loot code may exist but not sure.

Sapling is in hut at Loc: neg 978, pos 1370. There are others, but they do not drop the spells. Also, the Misscribed Lifetap scroll is the rare. I went through 8 Misscribed Gates scrolls and 4 times of the sapling carrying nothing before he dropped the Lifetap scroll. Happy hunting!

I was wondering if they were on trivial after not getting any drop after 8 or so kills with a 54 SK. But they finally dropped one of the spells so guess not. just a heads up.

Yup! Im finaly done. The instructions on this post made it fairly easy. Everything is where they said it would be. The Knight was crouching in front of the left ruins as soon as you enter WW from Cab. The bottle in the river was exactly where the previous post that gave the Loc to it. For people who dont know how to use the Loc, (im one of them) just follow the river all the way down till it opens up to the ocean or large body of water, hang a left and follow the shore till you hit as far as you can go then swim out into the water about 10 EQ yards and swim along the shore line back the way you came from. You should find it if your swimming close to the floor.

The saplings are easy to find and the are the only ones that spawn in that hut. Comming out of Cab just follow the road to the fort. Once you get there, carefully make your way into the fort and follow the left wall till you get to the opposite end corner. You can find a nice pull spot there and you will see where the sapling is if he's spawned.

I recomend taking time to know the entire fort area inside and out to be familiar with all the spawns and even some of the opening into the fort besides the main entrances along the walls. They make good if your agrod.

The shovel is easy to find. Someone posted to buy it from the vendors Island in Cab in front of the Haglers something. Thats exactly where it was.

I basically just repeated what other posters posted, but saved you the time from reading them all.

I started this quest at 21 and finished at 21 so it is posible to solo this one. Be very care full and good luck.

    Crondo, Iksar SK of Tunare.

The knight showed up straight out from Cabilis in front of some building ruins in the merchant and guard area of WW, he did respond to a question about the chalp diagram and he has this habit of spitting flarefire seeds at you, ask him about the seeds, it's mildly amusing. He looks like a naked iksar and will usually be sitting down (or actually squatting as we iksar tend to do.) I didn't have to do anything to spawn him he was just there then later he wasn't so I waited and he was there again, I wasn't paying a lot of attention so I'm not sure if he disappears or wanders when he's not there.
I had thought that I found a merchant with a shovel outside the city in the WW zone but couldn't find one today so I purchased one at Klok Dytar in East Cabilis at the merchant bazzar across from the haggle baron for under 4gp.
The sapling spawns all by himself in a hut inside the giant fort, I was able to walk in at level 17 and solo him, he conned even or yellow at 17 although I am twinked so not everyone will have such an easy time with him. If you have never been inside the giant fort then be very wary of soloing the sapling below level 25, since I had been there before with my mage and knew where the sapling spawned I was able to work my way into the fort without aggroing any of the red giants and found myself a nice spot next to the sapling's hut to pull to. The two major problems were staying away from the fairly close wanderers and keeping the sapling under darkness so he wouldn't flee towards his tougher friends. He was a 15 minute spawn and I killed him 4 times and the drops were misscribed gate, random wizard rune, misscribed gate again and then misscribed lifetap.
The bottle was also easy to get, it is at the loc mentioned below and appears as a small bag on the ocean floor and looks like a clay jar once in your inventory. I was able to walk there at level 17, without sow or invis, by simply following the path out of cabilis to the giant fort and then following the river in front of the fort downstream. The small river eventually dumps into a larger body of water in a valley and there is a static goblin at that point but I simpy walked around the goblin to the left and followed the top of the cliff, avoiding the goblin camp towards the end, all the way to the end. At the end if you keep following the water line to the zone edge and then swim out to the zone corner you can easily work your way to the loc listed and dive down for the bottle. the bottle is NOT in the river at all, it is actually out in the ocean part of the water almost in the zone corner (actually fairly close to the dalnir cave.)
Oh yea, as of this posting it's not mentioned but the quest guy for this is Lord Qyzar.

The miss scribed spells are just quest objects and of no real purpose unless you are an Iksar Shadowknight. To start the quest set you have to turn in your newbie note to the guild leader and recieve the first Khukri. From there the quests to improve the weapon range from easy to annoyingly time consuming and difficult. In fact, I don't even think the quest set has been completed. The end weapon has not been found as far as I know.

I guess theoretically, you might be able to do the series as a Human shadowknight, but truthfully, I don't know how. I'm sure it would involve days and days of raising faction.

I don't think a Human would be able to do these quests because it requires the Khukri given to the newbie iksar as a no drop weapon. There is the slim possibility, though, that a human might be able to gain one through multi-questing or through Penance, but not sure.

No other race can do this quest other than the Iksar. Look at the Khukris, they are all Iks Shd for useable classes, nobody else. btw, The Greenmist has been found... guys name was Diginitai or something like that, on 11/5/01. I saw the stats posted and it is one bad-azz weapon. As good as or better than the SK epic. The link to the whole story is attached to the Greenmist link on this site. Go read it if you want to see one hardworking SK help the rest of us out.

How do you know the year?
    # Jun 10 2001 at 11:10 AM Rating: Default
I've looked everywhere for the year of the birth of the Crusaders of Greenmist. In the conversation with Arch Lord Xor he mentions some guy who died seeking a library in 1650 or something like that. I also got a book called 'the crusade of 1312' about Rok Nilok a famous SK that reclaimed Karnor and tried to reclaim Cabilis after the fall of the Iksar empire... then had his head turned red and got shrunk down and killed by golins... but I've never seen that first date.

They have not changed anything, but the bottle. I am now waiting for either myself or someone else to find its new location and post it

    Misscribed Spell Info
    # Feb 14 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Decent
I completed this quest yesterday and I wanted to share my information with everyone concerning the misscribed spells.

The Spell in a Bottle was easy enough to get. There's another message here that give exact coordinates. It was right where that message said that it would be. Sitting under the water. Reaching that point could be dangerous though so be careful.

The other two spells that drop from the Forest Giant Saplings were MUCH more frustrating to get. First of all, only ONE Sapling in the Giant Fort in WW drops these scrolls. As others have pointed out, this is the one that spawns in the NW section of the Fort in a small structure (one of those big stall type things) with a chair in it. It's just NW of the hut that the "Forest Giant" spawns in.

Contrary to popular belief, this Sapling does NOT drop a misscribed spell each time. Not even close. I had to camp him for close to three hours to get both scrolls. The misscribed Gate seems to drop more commonly than the misscribed Lifetap, but the scrolls only really dropped once in every three or so Sapling kills. The Sapling DOES spawn about every 15 minutes though, and it's ALWAYS a Sapling that spawns at that point, so it's less frustrating than it could be. But a croll DEFINITELY does not drop each time you kill him. So many people on my server (Seventh Hammer) told me that one would, so maybe the drop rate was recently changed, but as of now don't expect to complete this quest by killing two or three Saplings. If you do you're very lucky.

Just wanted to share my experiences
I Can't Find the Iksar Knight
    # Jan 28 2001 at 3:40 AM Rating: Default
I have attacked the Giant inside the round building in the Giant fort. I saw the message about the lizard in the bag. I couldn't kill him (only level 18, and no one else in the zone is around my level). I ran back to the guards but they apparently don't attack giants.

I looked all around the Cabilis Gate area. Nothing. I have been looking for 3 days now. I've got all the quest items.

Is the NPC called "Iksar Knight" or "Grizzle"? Is he supposed to spawn at the point where the giant is killed and then run back to the gate? Apparently I need LOTS of help with this.

Check the "Obsidian Hilt" quest under Warslilk's Woods. I think the Knight referred to might be Grizzle, from the Zealot's Khukri quest. Might be a clue there. The Knight digs up something and leaves the Hilt on the ground. Recall for the Zealot's quest you gave Grizzle a shovel...

The knight always seems to show up after you go to "A Forest Giant" and he syas something about not for my eyes. I tested it twice and it worked. I ran to the circular building, the giant said something, tried to attack, I stacked Envenomend breath, Scourge and Winter's Roar (for good measure), rooted him and ran back towards the gate and the knight was there. (Giant died soon after when I saw the faction message come up).

Checking out traders today in Cabilis and saw a shovel for sale. This can only be the one required for this quest, im unsure if it's been sold to the trader though or just a random sale item.
