On the first "a lava guardian" you kill, it will drop one ore for every person in the kill group (that got the xp) who has this quest and is at this step. It doesn't appear to drop the ore otherwise.

This is a solo task that begins with Lady Arcenia at the zone-in of Nagafen's Lair (entered through Lavastorm Mountains). This task is only available while the Level 100 revamp version of Nagafen's Lair is active.
You say, 'Hail, Lady Arcenia' Lady Arcenia says 'Could you [help] me? My sister and I were separated before I could give her this ring of fire resistance. Our spectral form protects us from the kobolds and other monsters, but not from the lava. Please find her for me and give her this ring.' You say, 'I'll help you' Lady Arcenia says 'Thank you _____ for helping me! My sister will be very grateful!' You have been assigned the task 'Help Lady Arcenia'. You receive "Ghostly Ring of Fire Resistance". Give the ring to Arcenia's sister 0/1 (Nagafen's Lair) Lady Marcella is found just southwest of the entrance from Lavastorm, at location -500, -135, -102. Kill 5 greater kobolds to earn my trust 0/5 (Nagafen's Lair) Speak with Lady Marcella 0/1 (Nagafen's Lair) Kill 5 fire giants 0/5 (Nagafen's Lair) Speak with Lady Marcella 0/1 (Nagafen's Lair) She'll ask you to kill a lava guardian and bring a "Fiery Ore" to her.
