At the end of the previous quest, Lord Gikzic said it was for another Lord of Pain to decide whether you would wield the knight's khukri. Lord Korzin may be found at +1060, -170 (in the same room with Gikzic).

    You say, 'Hail, Lord Korzin'

Lord Korzin says 'What is it you seek? Eternal suffering?'

You say, 'I seek eternal suffering.'

Lord Korzin says, 'Then follow the words of Cazic-Thule and may his blessed curses rain upon your soul as they shall on all of his faithful servants.'

You say, 'i accept the calling'

Lord Korzin says, 'As if you had a choice. Seek out the tower of Kurn and find the Skull of Torture. You should be able to easily recognize this skull as it glows with the power of Cazic-Thule. Return it to me with your squire's khukri and I shall reward you with the knight's khukri. Go at once.'

Go to Kurn's Tower and loot A Glowing Skull (identifies as "The Skull Of An Undead Cook") from various scalebone skeletons. It's TEMPORARY, so don't camp until you've finished the quest. Hand it in.

Lord Korzin says 'You will be rewarded with the knight's khukri when I have possession of your squire's khukri and the Skull of Torture.'

    Turn in:

Lord Korzin says 'Excellent work! You are no squire. You are now a knight of the crusaders. Your next step shall be zealot. And every zealot wields a magical khukri.'

Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist has been adjusted by 10.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis has been adjusted by 2.
You receive 1 gold from Lord Korzin.
You receive 1 platinum from Lord Korzin.

    You receive your Knight's Khukri.

    profitable quest

After going from lvl 15 to half way through 18 I finally got a greater scalebone to drop the glowing skull. I play on Xegony and spent about 2 days in Kurn's and also wound up with reinfirced rhino wristguards [2]. gloves, leggings and a Burynai tunic.
One thing I have come to like about the SK weapon upgrade quest is that there is an end to work towards and you get exp along the way.
The skull does drop off them both

To all who have destroy their khukri, there is an easy way to get it back (the knave's khukri) :

With your character, you get the 4 Sarnak Hatchling heads in the bag then combine. Log near Lord Gikzic and relog with a newbie sk give the note to Arch Duke to get the pawn's khukri then give it to Lord Gikzic. He will say that it lack of Sarnak Heads... So relog with your main sk and rapidely give him the bag. Lord Gikzic give you the Knave's Khukri.

It works with the Shaman and Warrior newbie's weapons (Iron Cudgel of the Petitioner and Partisan Pike).

The greater scalebone is not the only mob that can possibly drop the glowing skull, and no, it does not only drop it in the 2nd floor basement. I have spent some time slaughtering the entirety of the dungeon with various characters; the glowing skull has dropped from any skelly from greater scalebone or higher (lesser icebone/charbone), and has dropped on every floor of the dungeon including the very bottom lvl (actually seems to be MORE common down there). Of course, I'm not recommending that you go down there to get it any faster LOL. Well anyway, have a nice time with the quest and quit depending on websites to find all your answers =)
    Verant really hates us!
    # May 12 2001 at 9:30 PM Rating: Default
This is typical of Verant. I grow more sick of these quests everyday. I will not go into detail, lets just say I completed quest two (all those damn pages), and screwed it up (the mistake was not caused by me). So I am working on the pages all over again. 8( But, what sucks is this, I already have the skull for this quest. Why did Verant make the second quest step so damn hard? Can't wait until they get some good competition. Maybe then they will start really caring about their customers.

The monk shackle quests are really difficult too.. but don't complain, cause at least you HAVE that quest for those items. I actually had a blast doing all my shackle quests, even though on my bronze (the one before steel) i forgot to continue the dialog and get the item to start the shackle of steel, so I'll have to redo it. As usual... GM's won't help.

There is a quest that has recently been added to help iksar reclaim their lost newbie weapons. It should be listed under East Cabilis quests as "Penance". If Verant gets around to removing multiquesting (where more than one player turns in the quest items on a quest), then the new quest will be the only way to complete quests that require your newbie item.

Basically what you do is hail the different masters in your guild. One of them should ask a question like "Do you still have your <newbie item>" or "Have you lost your <newbie item>". After you give the appropriate answer to the question, they'll give you a book to take to the toilmaster. The toilmaster will then give you back a book that explains the ritual of exoneration.

You need to read and follow the directions in the book carefully. The ritual is a painful and tedious exercise (as it should be, you did lose your newbie item after all). But, when you have completed the quest you will have your newbie item back again, and can continue your guild's quest series.

OK, if you destroyed your initial weapon, since it is the sole base of this quest. Contact a GM and ask if he/she would reissue you your initial newbie weapon. I had this problem also and just did as I described. Two hours later a GM responded and fixed my dilemma. Hope this helps you guys out.

Are these the same skulls used for the Shaman quest?

No not the same skull. Ours (SKs) is "Glowing Skull", the shaman's is "Tiny Glowing Skull". May not seem like much, but it is a HUGE difference if you ***** up. =) Hope this helps.

I have completed the quest and like the weapon. (for now) But, how did you know what to say to trigger the quest? I tried to do it straight for two weeks and found no clues.

Well, I don't know how people originally figured out how to get Lord Korzin to talk, but I have a guess. (And note to Chukasil: Yes, we KNOW what to say. Some of us like to role-play through the conversation, and want to know WHY we're expected to ask him about the skull of torture.)

As you may have noticed, even if you give both items to the NPC at the same time, he'll respond as to each item as though they were given one at a time. So all you have to do is go around to the different SK Lords and try giving each of them your Squire's Khukri, and most of them will say they don't need it, but Korzin will take it and say, 'You will be rewarded with the knight's khukri when I have possesion [sic] of your squire's khukri and the Skull of Torture.' So then you know to ask him about the Skull of Torture, and the rest follows.

Now, as I said, I don't know if that's how people figured it out originally, or if there's some other clue that suggests talking to Korzin about this. In particular, back in the day, giving items to the wrong NPC meant the NPC would keep it and the item was gone! Which, given how painful it was to camp the froglok raiders for the squire's khukri, meant some folks would have had to be really dedicated to try that approach!

I absolutly agree and was about to post the SAME question, but saw that someone already did. I found the guy, but when he says "What do you seek? Eternal suffering?" I just said "I seek eternal suffering." And he said something about Cazic-Thule and all shall feel the wrath on their souls from him, blah blah blah. But nothing to trigger the quest. How anyone figured this out baffles the mind. But I still would like to know.

I'd like to know too. I asked Korzin all sorts of things to try to trigger some kind of response, but didn't get anything. I also spent a small amount of time asking the Lord that gave me the prior quest (and referred to "another Lord of Pain"), but didn't get anything more from him either.

By the way, thanks for the help with a few pages Slarsh!

Drops off Greater Scalebone & Lesser Ice Bone

I have seen the Glowing Skull drop on both types of skeles, while camping the basement/stall area.

I'm pretty sure that the skull drops anywhere in Kurn's. I picked mine up near the Dining Room upstairs off a Greater Icebone.

This is one easy quest, compared to the last one.

The skull doesn't drop from either the Greater Skeleton or the Lesser Icebone. It's actually the Greater Scalebone Skeleton that your looking for. An easy enough kill for a small group or a level 15 or so SK. They are very common all over the place, but the best spot to hunt them is up by the dining room on the third floor. Lots of spawns all in the same level range to keep a small group quite happy. Watch out for the lesser icebones if you are hunting in a small group as they can be nasty compared to the other MOBs.

Have fun on this one, much better than the last quest you went through. When I was doing it, I had to let skulls rot because I could only carry one while I was there and there were lots.

    Later.

    Incorrect information
    # Jul 11 2000 at 1:21 AM Rating: Decent
    The information given is incorrect.

The item spawns on Lesser Icebones, an uncommon spawn that spawns
on the stairway between the second and third floors (going UP). It
    is called a Glowing Skull.

    bye,
