Romar Sunto may be found at +395, +95, +18.

You say, 'Hail, Romar Sunto'

Romar Sunto says 'I am Romar Sunto, servant of Solusek Ro. I am searching for the [coin] of the mighty enchanter [Tash] - if you are interested in helping me acquire it, I will [reward] you with a powerful spell. I am also a dispenser of the Staff of Ro, sometimes also called [darkwood staves].'

You say, 'What coin?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash had a collection of ten antique silver coins that were left in different cities around the world. If you were to collect all 10 coins, I would give you a [coin pouch] that would let you combine them into the master coin of Tash. If you are interested, I will sell you a copy of the Tome of Tash, detailing where the coins were reportedly left, for a mere 50 gold.'

You say, 'Who was Tash?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash was a mighty enchanter and master jewelcrafter.'

You say, 'What is the reward?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will reward you with a scroll for the spell Tashania. For personal use, of course.'

Romar Sunto says 'Once you combine the coins within the pouch, you must take the Coin of Tash to Tarn Vislin in the HighKeep library to get it enchanted. Give him the coin and he will enchant it for you.'

Your faction standing with Temple Of Sol Ro got better.
Your faction standing with Shadowed Men got worse.
You gain experience!!

You say, 'What coin pouch?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will lend you this coin pouch - put all 10 antique silver coins into it and combine them into the Coin of Tash.'

For 50 gp, he will sell you a book called "Tome of Tesh" [sic] on where to find all 10 coins and will give you A Coin Pouch to combine them in. The coins are called "An Old Silver Coin," and can be found in the following places:

(1) Ak'anon - Near great wheel (not in water) (+1990, -260, -125);
(2) South Kaladim - Pool by warrior's guild (+75, +360, -5);
(3) Erudin Palace - in the pool outside the guilds (+703, +740, +44);
(4) North Qeynos - under Temple of Life "UFO" in the Koalindl Fish Pool (-90, -445, -10);
(5) Halas - lake in front of city to the left of docks on a ledge (-138, +179);
(6) Oggok - in lake near warrior guild at the north end (+103, +108);
(7) Grobb - in pool near bar where you first enter the zone (+197, -261);
(8) Neriak Commons - Outside Blind Fish window near ice comet rod (0, -795, -70);
(9) North Felwithe - at the edge of the fishing pond (-110, -790, -50);
(10) West Freeport - In the pool near the Arcstone portal (-150, -845, -233).

Take the 10 coins and combine them in the coin pouch to get a Coin of Tash.

Next, go visit Tarn Visilin in the Highpass Keep library at +75, -220.

You say, 'Hail, Tarn Visilin'

Tarn Visilin says 'Hello. I am Tarn Visilin.'

Give him the Coin of Tash.

Tarn Visilin says 'The Coin of Tash! Very good. I have laid a basic enchantment on it - to get it further enchanted you must take the coin to Mizr N'Mar in the Library of Neriak.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Glowing Coin of Tash. Go to Mizr N`Mar in the library in Neriak 3rd Gate at +915, -1315, -67. and give him the coin of Tash.

Mizr N`Mar says 'Ah - the Coin of Tash - and already enchanted by..? Tarn? Very good! I have enchanted it further - you must now take the coin to Raine Beteria in the Library of Erudin to get the final enchantment.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Gleaming Coin of Tash. Go to Raine Beteria in Erudin at -1050, -210, +68, and give her the coin.

Raine Beteria says 'Thank you very much. I have always wanted one of these! Hehehe? just kidding. I see that you have enchanted this coin. I have placed the final enchantment on it - take it back to Romar.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Radiant Coin of Tash. Take this back to Romar.

Romar Sunto says 'The Coin of Tash - fully enchanted! I am in your debt. Here is the scroll of Tashania that was promised to you.'

You cant sell the coins man, they are all no drop

Firstly its a 1 minute spawn and all you have to do is pick it up, secondly you didn't give your name or server information so no one could trade with you, but most importantly all the coins are NO DROP which means you can't sell it even if you wanted to. I think you might want to consider taking up Counterstrike again

Hi, I am a High Elf enchanter with Tunare as my god. The people of Neriak frown upon my race and the god I have chosen to praise. I know about DE illusion and the fact that it doesnt hide your religon. I am sure I can get the coin... but my question is will I ever be able to hand it in to the man in the library in order to complete this quest.. ie is he beta nuetral and all alone? Or will I be forced to take an army down there and clear out the library and charm his funky but? All help will be much appreciated.. thank you ever so much.

When I did the Incandescent Mask quest I was confronted with the same problem, which seemed to be NO problem at all!!
First of all: make a lvl 1 inkie to explore Neriak and make sure you can run the way from the gate to the Library blindfolded. Second: go to Neriak in DE form. You can get in without being killed; guards will look upon you dubiously, even when you've killed thousands of Crushbone orcs (like I did hehe). Once you zoned into Neriak Commons: cast DE form again. In case you don't trust the guards: cast Benevolens on a passing guard and you'll be safe. At Neriak 3d Gate you need to be careful, lots of dragoons roam that part of Neriak and I casted invis on top of illusion DE (no inkie will look through that). In the Library Mizr will be indifferent to you even when you lost invis. Do your thing and GATE.
Mission completed :))

Good luck :)

I have collected all the coins and the only one that gave me a struggle was in Oggok. It is between the bridges to the guild. The coin in the fishing pond in Felwithe is to the right. The coin in Ak' is behind the wheel. Just cross the little bridge and look at the side of the wheel.

I am about to go to Temple of Ro to get my bag and combine.

I am a 13 gnomish chanter and I have all 10 coins, Can I turn them in now and get exp, I am guessing it would be great at my level, or do I have to wait to a certain level? I picked most of them up when I did my Stein of moggok quest the first couple of times cause I am a gnome and had a long run to get the eurds tonic (sp)
any input would be great cause if I can I may farm the quest to get to 16 and my long awaited breeze. Thanks Hotwired- torvo
About see invis...
# Jul 23 2001 at 6:11 PM Rating: Decent
OK, this is to the person having problems navigating Freeport with invis up... I've noticed that in certain cities (especially Freeport because it's so crowded) certain malicious players like to run around casting see invis on the guards in the hopes of seeing an inkie get splatted... I think this is the root to your problem. I have never seen a common guard in FP that could see through invis unless player buffed... My suggestion is that if you are to try this, you con every guard you see before approaching him, even with your invis up. Hope this helps.

While most of the guards in Freeport do not see invis, the ones in the guardhouse as you first enter west gate do indeed see through invis for whatever reason...occasionally one will wander out the door, in which case, i hope you have sow or jbooties and can keep from getting stunned.

only way to buff a npc is to charm it first. I know this for a fact for on several occasions i tried to buff a group member only to have no message display wether it took effect. then i realized I had the wrong target. Also, I have fun with my druid charming animals and buffing the snot out of them with every thing I have. Not to be mean but I was colleting pelts for tayloring. well I acidently hide wich brakes the charm. I rooted my kodiak and backed up to recharm when some one attacked my bear. ummmummmumm sad sight. he wont be over confident again. well the point here is you cant buff a npc without him being charmed. the reason may be that your low level inviso dont fool the guards. also have you ever seen npc walking around casting spells on each other. If you constantly take things for granted in EQ the suprise will cost you dearly.

...even better, every time i port in to a druid ring, cast see invis on a couple of the druids there.. LOL Great idea!!

After all, who WOULDN'T want to see and inkie (or two or three) get splatted ;P

Tunare Enchanters
# Jul 22 2001 at 2:43 PM Rating: Default
Ok here's my question...

Are the gaurds in Neriak the same as the gaurds in Nektulos faction wise and all that stuff?

I just wanna make sure b4 I skip my happy lil butt in to the city.

If so then you should all know that I am a HIE Enchanter who follows Tunare. I'm trying to firgure a way to do this quest without dklsj my faction so that I will be able to to Plane of Growth quest later on. For the record with just DE Illusion (no faction modifying spell no invis) I can wander freely thru Nektulos Forest. Gaurds con dubious but don't attack.

Does this mean the gaurds in Neriak will treat me the same way?
High Elf Enchanters following Tunare are KOS in Neriak Commo
# Aug 10 2001 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
FYI - you WILL be killed if you enter Neriak Commons (the zone the Blind Fish is in) unless you cast invis on yourself (regardless of whether DE illusion is on). I speak from experience - my high elf chanter who, unfortunately, followed Tunare went into Neriak to fetch some smithing supplies.

She was killed by the guards on the bridge, which you need to cross in order to get anywhere of interest in that zone. My enchanter had Illusion Dark Elf on. Before they slaughtered her in 3 hits, they screamed something about heathens and Tunare, I believe.

Invis worked fine when I returned to fetch my corpse. But they really, really don't like Tunare following Dark Elves. ^_~

Good luck to you,

Veela 12 Enchanter Bertoxxulous
Vilae 35 Enchanter Bettoxxulous
(and various other female chars racing around Norrath)

Oh, also...you may not need to cross the bridge to get the coin, just jump in the water and swim around until you find the window to Blind Fish, the coin is just outside the bar in the water.

Same story here. My High Elf Enchanter (follower of Tunare) went in to Neriak to pick up his Enchant Electrum spell and pick up the coin while he was there. Of course I had my dark elf illusion up, and conned dubious to Nektulos and Foriegn Quarter guards. I was still being cautious (well a little bit at least) when I got into Neriak Commons and conned the guards on the bridge as I was running up to them. I saw that they were threateningly about a half second before they aggroed me, and was already turning around when they shouted something about me following a false god. Luckily they didn't catch up to me before I got back to the zone line.

I wasn't so lucky, though when I went back in. On my swim back from getting the coin (you can swim the whole way from water by Priest of Discord) I popped my head out of the water for a breath at just the wrong place and was attacked by two guards. Ah well, next time I'll learn to use invis even while swimming (I used it to fetch my corpse, guards conned indifferent) ;>

The guards won't kill ya.

But lots of other folk will. Namely, the warrior's guild, if you hunted orcies as a young enchanter at least.

As will the clerics, necros, and shadowknights, I think.

But, the guards' won't jump you.

I advise creating a L 1 newbie DE, and scout the route you will take out.

OK my opinion is that if your an enchanter who burned factions early on then that's your own fault but I'll still try and offer some useful advice. Tashania is the level 44 MR debuff spell that enchanters get, I reccomend it for EVERY level 44 enchanter as your MR debuff helps with everything, not like I should have to explain this to any enchanters. The scroll is NODROP so this one you have to do yourself, nobody is going to farm it for you sorry (I've had someone ask my bard to do it.)

Now for the nitty gritty...
Yes, by level 8 or 12 most enchanters have all the spells they need to do this quest and you could do it before 44 but why? The scroll would just rot in your bank for however many levels and by the time you get near 44 you will hopefully have made friends with someone near your level willing to port you around and make the quest easier. If you are unsure about any city then make a brand new level 1 character of that race and go explore with it first, if your character slots are filled use a different server. Try and make a warrior or other neutral type class like another enchanter and pick a god of similar religion to your own so you can also use this character to 'con' all the NPCs on the way to the coin and get a feel for who will like/hate you. Run your new mule from the point where you would enter the city to the coin itself and see if you can pick the coin up or at least find it with that character. The coins are all underwater and look like a bag on the ground, similar to when someone drops foraged food or other items. Try and use invis when crossing zone boundries, invis stays up even though illusions don't and on top of cities like grobb where there are NPCs who can usually be found at the zone line (for grobb go in invis and turn troll next to PoD) there are also cities where players tend to 'train' NPCs to the zone bounderies, freeport and neriak are good examples of this. If you die in a foreign city don't panic, you can make a level 1 character of that race and then log back onto your enchanter and /consent that character then go back to it and drag your corpse to the zone line, much easier than relying on strange newbies who may drag your corpse off to who knows where, especially useful on PvP servers. And last but not least, remember if wizards can get their rods from all over the world without illusions you can easily get your coins with illusions!

I must say that when I read about this quest, it seemed impossible for anyone who was not familiar with each of these zones, so I assumed, this would be a spell I would have to do without. Although, I completed the quest last night and it was fairly easy. I just wanted to give some pointers. First of all, I want to say that all I used were illusions, and the invisible spell, and was never caught with my deception. The only thing you have to be careful of is when you zone into Grobb. There is a guard right inside the zone, so my advice is to use invisible (because your illusion will disappear when you zone) before you zone, run a little away from the guard then cast your Troll illusion, followed by invis. Being a high elf, and being KoS in Grobb, Oggok, and Neriak I was concerned about places I heard which had guards that could see through illusions/invis, but I wanted to say that I was able to run through these zones without ever being stopped. Oh, well I can't say that I did this alone, I did need a friendly druid (hehe) to port me around, but inside the KoS cities, it was just me. This quest is alot of fun, and don't be discouraged by what others may tell you. Have fun and good luck!

I am a dark elf enchanter, follower of Innoruuk, and I CAN go around West Freeport with a human illusion and without invis. There are some peeps who do not like me there, but they are weak. I have also gone to Rivervale in a wood elf illusion, just because I never bothered to go to erudin for the halfling illusion, and there was only one person there who conned threateningly. Thats probably because when I was a newb, I killed some halflings, not realizing that it would be a problem if i ever went to Rivervale, but I should try it with a halfling illusion. As for the graphics card problems, spend a little money and get a graphics card that actually meets the minimum system requirements of EQ :-P Also, my friend's graphics card is pretty crappy, but is 8 megs of RAM, and he can see through invis.

Well, I'm a 43 chanter, and I'm almost done with this quest. Just to clear the record, I'm a DE chanter, and I also follow Inny. I have been able to go almost everywhere without invs including Felwithe =) (Freeport being one exception, but just go invs, and keep an eye on the guards. If you spent time at the toll booth, then North Freeport should be ok to you, and you can get close to the Arcane Science building where the coin is. Get a sow, go invs, jump in water grab coin, gate out. Qeynos is the same way since I spent 5 levels killing treants, get a sow, go invs, run/jump in pool, grab coin, gate out). The only thing stopping me from completing the quest, is that I've not taken the time yet to either run to Erudin, or get a port to Tox /shrug.

BTW, I think you have to tell the dude in Sol Ro "I need a bag" don't quote me. But if you navigate through his sayings, what you need to say is in there.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 28 2001 at 1:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am so tired of hearing people say that if youre not agnostic, you cant do it without spending hours raising your faction. At lvl 31 and with 197 charm, + illusions, + benevolence, I have no trouble at all going anywhere I please and I follow Karana (nuetral god). Thats not to say that every single npc in neriak (I am human) is warmly to me, but I have never been kosed anywhere I have gone thus far. Youre spewing useless garbage just to scare everyone else, quit being an *** and tell it like it is. Unless you have done something stupid like killing certain npc's for fun and ruining your faction to the point of no return, it should be no problem at all if you are smart about it. Use invis, use illusion, use benevolence.....you should be fine.

Look friend...I wasn't trying to scare anyone or as you so tastelessly put it "being an ***". I have a problem getting to the coin in Freeport w/o getting my *** handed to me on a platter even using invis, illusion, and benevolence. Apparently at least one guard there can see invis, so that option is out. I'm very happy for you that you have no problems going anywhere. Some of us have made past mistakes and are not as fortunate. I was hoping to get advice and information from intelligent EQ enchanters. Not smart *** remarks from those who think they know it all. If you have useful input on the problem, I'd love to hear it. If not, save the space on the page for those who do.

Aaenayan, not only was the moron who jumped your case the true ***, he was also dead wrong. I am also a HIE Enchanter, follower of Karana, and I have TWICE been killed despite DE illusion.

The first time was in Neriak, and not only was I DE, but I was invis! I walked into the foriegn quarter, and then decided to look in what appeared to be a guardhouse near the entrance. "HERETIC!!" A 550 point spell blast later I was dead on the floor.

A few months later (June, 2001) I thought I'd go banking in the DE outpost in OT. Of course the invis dropped when I clicked on the banker.. but hey, I had the DE illusion up and was watching the guard...all buffs up and if he budges, I'm outa here! I never saw him move (lagged at the worst time). "HERETIC!!" Blamm! the game didn't even tell me how many points of damage I took, it just told me I was DEAD. General D'Veers (sp?) had taken a homicidal exception to my presence. Never did find out if the 'guard' was actually the General himself.

In short, Illusion: DE means NOTHING versus the NPC's perfect "sense religion" ability, and I have yet to survive an assault from any of these religious fanatics, not even for a few seconds. Watch yourselves.

General V'Deers is a very high level Shadowknight, who normally spends his days in the Bank in the Outpost in OverThere. He leaves at night to go harrass the population hunting along the west and south walls of the zone, so it's perfectly safe to Bank while he's away.

Having said that, using your Faction-altering spells may also help to move you from KoS to "Glowers Dubiously", which is "tolerate as long as you make no other trouble".

It seems some of the guards in freeport can see thru invis. I found this out the hard way when trying to get the Freeport coin. Im a DE enchanter who was stupid enuff to pick Inny as my God. That w/ a little EC guard killing has me very unliked there. Is there a way to the coin thru the tunnels under freeport? Also can any guards in the other cities see invis as well? i would suggesst doing the Janam and Rebby quests:
http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/quest.html?quest=612
http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/quest.html?quest=613
to raise your freeport faction. it starts out with the rogue group under the docks in east freeport, and the 2 npc's to start (and the two other to finish) the quests are very close together. In about an hour you should be non-kos except in north freeport.

I have a crappy ATI rage pro turbo video card in my computer. I could not see the erudin coin in the water, even though I was standing next to it. I had to get my other computer (matrox g400) to login to actually see the coin. The problem is that the water is shallow, and you cannot go underwater. Most likely the issue is with transparency (you should see through the water) and on my ati I do net get any kind of transparency effects. The locs are +725 +755 +36 in the pond, just click all around and you'll get it.
USE TD TELEPORTS

The Timorous Deep Firepot Teleports will be your best friend in this quest. Simply bind yourself in Oasis at the dock, the raft comes by periodically.

Trade clarity for sow just before you head out, load up illusion air ele but don't cast it yet.

As soon as you get to TD jump off the raft and go air ele form. Run to near the soutwest corner of the zone (neg 5k / neg 12k if I remember right) There you will see some submerged wizzie spires. If you swim down into the water you'll see a passage going deeper into the ocean floor. The water gives way to a room with pots all around the walls. These pots teleport to the locations one needs to visit for the Tash coin quest. For a complete guide on which pots go where visit eqatlas.com - timorous deep

The only city ports for this quest that are missing are Qeynos, Freeport, and Highpass. Do Qeynos after Erudin (take the boat). Both Freeport and Highpass are near Neriak (which has a firepot).

No more running across continents to complete this quest!

There is a minor problem with using these fireports. Faydedar, a dragon that takes 4-5 well-equipped groups to kill, likes to hang out around here, and apparently is super-aggressive. So you might want to have a ranger/druid verify that Faydedar is gone before using these firepots.

And as with any quest where there is danger of death in hard-to-reach areas, I suggest you bag your equipment and leave it in the bank while you do the quest...
Erudite coin error

The coin in Erudin could be a graphic error due to the complexity of the city. Erudin is one of the most complex cities (graphically) and can put some serious strain on an outdated 3d accelerator card. A minor detail like the bag graphic could be overwritten by the fountain. I have a friend who uses an ancient 3dcard and sees dragons as little fuzzy dots. Strange but true.

My 2cp of computer knowledge.
