You need the ingot and icon of Ardent and 1 bar of galvanized platinum (give enchanted platinum to Genni for this).

You need to kill Boondin the Enslaved, a gnome necromancer on the third floor in Befallen (approx level 25), to get the icon. The ingot is found at the bottom of a river in Everfrost (loc 2996, -5711).

Blaize the Radiant says, 'Hail, faithful one. I am Blaize the Radiant. Brother Gavel and I are well known among clerics for our forging skills, but special payment is required for our services. Special [ingots and icons] given to our members have been lost, and we will reward whoever retrieves them for us'

You say 'What ingots and icons?'

Blaize the Radiant says, 'The ingots and icons are all named after the virtues of the cleric who held them.. The virtues I require are those of the [reliant], the [ardent], the [fervent] and the [penitent]'

You say 'The ardent?'

Blaize the Radiant says, 'Theo the Ardent was in constant conflict with a gnome necromancer in Befallen named Babbinsbort, but he never could defeat him. Poor Theo drowned on an expedition to Everfrost when the ice of the frozen river gave way beneath him. Bring me the Ingot of the Ardent, the Icon of the Ardent, and 1 galvanized platinum bar and I will forge them into a reward for you.'

Tips for Boondin
# Jun 11 2001 at 8:02 AM Rating: Default
Just camped Boondin for the Icon of the Ardent as a level 40 cleric...some tips for you:

1) He is a 4 hour spawn, NO placeholder. If he's not there, either go away and come back later, or settle down and read a book =)

2) If he pops while you're there, IMMEDIATELY stun him to stop him buffing himself or summoning a pet. Then just Wrath, Wrath, Wrath him till he drops...

3) Keep resist/endure poison on yourself...he likes to chain cast the level 24 nec spell Shock of Poison...ouch

4) Root him before he runs...the rest of the dungeon mobs WILL attack him.
anyone notice?

if you got a good enough group you could just kill the quest guy and get the icon, then you dont have to wait down a stupid necro. but be warned the quest is in the MIDDLE of the temple, i dont think i will be too pretty if you try and hit him....

I have been to this loc amillion times over the past week, nothing has been there WTF!
Either someone is always beating me to it, or the spawn is a really long one, if anyone can give me the OFFICAL loc and the spawn time on this item i would really like to know. (This has been the most annoying part to get, everything else i could get easly)

The spawn time is 4 hours
dont need enduring breath
# Apr 30 2001 at 8:56 PM Rating: Default
Just swim up to the bottom of the ice and keep swimming straight up for a few seconds. when you go back down in the water you have your full breath back.
I just want to know one thing -

Where do I find the crack in the ice to actually swim underneath it in Everfrost? Everything else I have under control, but am clueless on this little bit.

mobs in water?

I was wondering if there are any mobs in the water at everfrost to worry about? and whats the loc

The Aqua Goblins aren't too bad, but the Iceboned Skeletons can be a pain. The Iceboned Skellies are above the ice, but will STILL aggro you if you swim under them. I have only run into this problem a couple times in my many trips under the ice to the Everfrost Caves.

there are some aqua goblins, one or two you might bump into by mistake, they ignored me, check zone info for level, not sure
This may sound stupid...

Now I realize you give the enchanted bar to Genni in exchange for the galvinized bar, but who do you give the icon, ingot and galvinized bar to? and to you give all 3 at once or 1 at a time?
Not stupid> No one bothers to post this
# Mar 05 2001 at 6:16 PM Rating: Default
Everyone wants to post about Babbin's spawn time or that you need Enduring Breath to get the Ingot or etc, etc, etc.

NO one, and I mean NO ONE, has bothered to post WHO the person it is that you speak to to get the quest or to turn the 3 items in to get the Gauntlets. Can't find it on any web site either.

Yes, I know Genni is the one who turns your enchanted plat bar into galvenized but that is not what we're asking so please don't say Genni!

Sorry to vent but I'm just a little amazed that no one has even bothered to post this info.

Uh, check the name next to "Who:" at the top of this page. If you can read English you'll see that Blaize the Radiant is the quest-giver.

Here is the info
# Mar 06 2001 at 12:03 AM Rating: Good
After getting the icon from Babbin, the ingot from Everfrost, and an enchanted platinum bar from your local Enchanter, head to the Temple and go see Genni. Give her the enchanted platinum bar and she will then give you a galvenized platinum bar in return. After that, go back downstairs to the big room you ran through before and see Blaize. Give Blaize the icon, the ingot and the galvenized plat bar and you will then get the gauntlets in return.

I just did it myself a few mins ago so I know it works. Good luck!
Keys in Befallen
# Mar 03 2001 at 8:09 AM Rating: Decent
If you are level 20 or above, you should be able to skip the top level spawns for the keys. All you need to do is kill the Shadow Knights in the lowest level. So...just go to the room with the well and fall down. The Shadow Knights on level 3 drop ALL THREE KEYS. No more camping the upper levels.
RE: Keys in Befallen
# Mar 17 2002 at 6:40 PM Rating: Default
So your a level 20 cleric oom and medding who agros all greens in a room medding. Unless you have enough mana to DA, mem and cast gate your in for a Fun CR.
My paladin Bro and I fell down the pitfall, only with the second and first keys, onto the third floor. After seeing there was no way out, I gated, and my bro, standing underneath the pitfall afk, agro'd the second SK. I see him dying, run upstairs LoH him and get him away (he told me too from the kitchen). After moving away, the SK went all the way down, agroing most of first and second floor and a small portion of third. He found a comfortable place to die and I spent an hour just missing the third key holder, got some not to helpful help from a Halfling Druid, then I went down the pitfall, dragged his corpse to the other side of the door, gated out, came to the Second floor/3rd floor door and dragged it up to him.
Sapwn time on Babbinsbort
# Feb 17 2001 at 12:06 PM Rating: Default
The time he spawns as od later is set on 5 hour timer with no place holder i just done it 2 days ago and that was the spawn rate killed him in 2 hits about with 1 but went ahead and finished him with 2nd hit to do it quickly so he did not have time to summon his pet
Funniest Fight Ever!
# Feb 07 2001 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
Heh, so now I know what this stupid icon is for. I was playing in Befallen one day collecting bonechips (lvl 30 SK at the time). And I run across this Boondin Boogersnot dood. I used standard Sk vs Pet class tactics, started by Fearing the pet away. I figured this move in itself would send the skelly away, but train me with about a dozen more later. Anyways, Skelly gone, I'm beatin on Boondin, and I see "Your Fear spell has worn off." And think well, it's now or never. I see a huge group of skellies comin towards me...and they keep running...right toward Boondin. I'm guessing Boondin is KOS in Befallen, which would explain why he "hides" behind a half wall, cause this train of skellies beat him down hardcore, and when he was dead they returned to their spawn points, and left me totally alone.

Anyways, hope someone else finds a little bit of humor, easiest fight vs. a blue necro I ever had.

This quest was easy as pie for me, a level 30 cleric. Just get someone to cast Enduring Breath on you as you swim for the ignot in Everfrost (don't worry it's there...do what I did and camp it late at night so you don't keep having to go back) and get a nice full group to smash Boodin in Befallen...I think he died in about ten seconds to our group, a bunch of level 27-31s. Nice glvoes :)

Soloed him as lvl30 druid.. rooted pet, nuked Boondin, root broke, he nuked me, fled out to second floor, healed myself once, nuked boondin 3 more times, then a bunch of skeletons came and whacked his pet. It was really wierd.. don't know why they aggroed on it, but good for me. His spawn time is 6 hours. If attacked, but not killed he despawns and spawns again in 6 hours.
Think i can do the rest of the quest just to sell those gloves?

Spawn time
# Dec 01 2000 at 11:40 PM Rating: Decent
I camped Babbinsbort two times in a row today. First pop was around 7:15pm EST second was around 11:15pm EST. If you do the math, that is 4hours. So unless his spawn time varies, or there is something that makes him pop, the spawn time is 4hours, or it is on this date. He spawns behind the fallen pillar and is a gnome so if you are on the door side of the room, you cant see him very well since he is so short. Hope that helps.... G'luck.

3 hours and there was nothing at the location the ingot should be ...
does someone know exactly the spawn time of this item ?
RE: ingot in the everfrost river
# Jan 24 2001 at 6:25 AM Rating: Decent
I know for a fact (timed it myself) that the two ignot/icons that spawn in kithicor spawn at 8 hour intervals to the second. As for the one at the bottom of the lake, I would imagine that it is roughly the same time.

I just picked it up, so the LOC is correct, as for the time, i am not sure
River Piece
# Nov 04 2000 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
The piece found in the river now looks like a brown bag (the kind you see druids dropping everywhere). The lake bed is pretty much the same color so you have to be right on top of the coordinates listed.

Me (enchanter), a warrior friend, and my cleric friend did this quest fairly easily. We were all level 30 and went to befallen to kill the poor gnome.

The only real hard part was getting the keys to get down, as you have to camp little crappy necros and SKs to get down to the bottom of befallen. Once we got to the last key camp, my cleric friend and I jumped down the well with invis undead on and proceeded to the spot where he is (he is exactly where most maps put him, go to EQAtlas for a good one). He was there right when we went down. Not sure how befallen is on other servers, but on Torvonnilous there are rarely people there so I think he is almost always popped. Not sure if there is a ph as we did not have that experience, he was waiting for us.

After we disposed of him we proceeded to everfrost. I put endure breath on my cleric friend and I and we went after the icon. Follow the very bottom of the river toward the loc. Make sure you remember the loc of the exit or just gate out after you are done. The icon is in the crevice of the river at the exact loc given. Hope this helps.

Finally got him but??
# Oct 15 2000 at 3:45 PM Rating: Decent
Ok.. he DID spawn.it was in the room in the basement just up from where the barbed legs are supposed to drop. There where two random critters (Ghouls Gskele IBkele acoyltes and such)
that spawned in the middle of the room, but boondin spanwed over to the rigth behind the fallen pillar.. must be some timed or random spawn. his loc was neg 803 neg 204. killed him at 4am game time/15:30 CST IRL. hope any of this helps.

I found him at the same loc that you posted, thank you for the helpful information.
He is not always there, but if you don't see him, come back a little later and look again.
4 hours
# Feb 21 2001 at 10:53 PM Rating: Default
I just timed it, 4 hours exactly, right where he's supposed to be, just behind that fallen pillar. I'm a 28 cleric, I took him down before he could summon a pet. It was close, and I had to heal myself twice, but I kept nuking him and he died.

Does anyone know where it actually is i went to the loc and i couldn't find it.
Is there a spawn time or something for it
Wrong
# Aug 22 2000 at 6:23 AM Rating: Default
first off i have a shaman and have done the glacier bear quest and its for the Totemic helm not breastplate. And the ingot the bear drops is for the cleric sheild not gloves. the ingot you need for gloves is in the bottom of the water in perma frost

is the ingots spawn time the same as the rest 9+ hours? i went to that loc, an it was on an area where there is a Slanted piece of land under the ocean? is this the correct spawn area?
