Dzan Amo is located in the Tabernacle of Terror, the cleric / necromancer guild. He's not on Find. You can look for Sern Adolia (Cleric Guildmaster) in front of him, who's on Find (Ctrl+F).
You say, 'Hail, Dzan Amo' Dzan Amo says 'Welcome to the Tabernacle of Terror. Perhaps you can control your fear long enough to be of [service] to us.' You say, 'What service?' Dzan Amo says 'I need some things fetched from the creatures just outside our city for some ritual experimentation. Bring me two tufts of bat fur and two fire beetle legs and I will school you in the ways of terror.' You say, 'I will bring you them.' Bat Fur and Fire Beetle Leg drop off bats and fire beetles in the newbie area. Upon hand-in (yes, the dialogue is bugged): Dzan Amo says 'I need no fewer than four infected rat livers!! Now, go get me what I require!!' Dzan Amo says 'I need no fewer than four infected rat livers!! Now, go get me what I require!!' Dzan Amo says 'I need no fewer than four infected rat livers!! Now, go get me what I require!!' Dzan Amo says 'Very good young one. Here is something to assist in your studies of the principles of terror.' Your faction standing with Heretics has been adjusted by 5. Your faction standing with Deepwater Knights has been adjusted by -5. Your faction standing with Gate Callers has been adjusted by -5. noticed his bugged partial-hand-in dialogue, anyone tried handing him infected rat livers to see if he has a quest for that also?

This was obviously copy-pasted from the [link=/db/quest.html?quest=665]Cazic Thule Initiate[/link] quest given by [link=/db/npc.html?id=4896]Sern Adolia[/link] (Cleric Guildmaster) in the same room. Handing the Infected Rat Livers to Dzan Amo has no effect: "I have no need for this. You can have it back."

So I've been trying to raise Heretic faction from Dubious to apprehensive, I was able to get 100 Fire Bettle Legs and 100 Bat Furs (buying bat furs from reagent vendors and buying fire beetle legs from newbie vendors) and after all those turn-ins? Still dubious. Experiment over, not worth it :P

Did this quest today on Time-locked progression server as a level 5 necro.
Quest result for me was "spook the dead" a low-level cleric spell.
Bonus for me is that it's a level 10 necro spell.

for all people tht are whining about not being able to get into the town: talk to one of the guards outrside the city and tell him you need a key, simple.

I know how hard it is for low level casters to get up the money to buy spells, and that necros can't use the trick of selling bonechips to high lvl necros for cash, thus the other purpose for these quests...
Hail Coriante Versue in the necro guild (guild hall leader) and she will tell you that she needs 2 bat wings and 2 snake fangs for a "reward". She gives you two spells, one of which is your first pet spell.

Another one in the necro guild, not sure if it is mentioned, go up to Auhirk Siet'ka and say "I understand common". He gives you a bag (if you're a newbie and not a necro, just do it for the bag to hold stuff in), and put 1 bat wing, 1 rat ear, 1 snake egg, 1 firebeetle eye in it, combine, and return to him. =)

Of course all you get for that is some experience and minor coin (no faction with this quest). Usually you get a little less than if you just sold your bat wing, rat ear, snake egg, and fire beetle eye. So you have to decide if the xps are worth the silver.
You can do this quest with Dubious faction, even though he won't talk to you about the quest when you're dubious. It gives + Heretics, - DeepwaterKnights, - GateCallers, - CraftKeepers, - CrimsonHands. This is the best quest to do for faction because it doesn't use lore items -- you can stock up on all the pieces before you ever go to Paineel and do it a few dozen times.

Faction hits arent very big and it took a half hour to do this quest twice... Plus you need to hire a Erudite Paineelite to open there city door for you... errr.
