The Oracle may be found on top of a mountain at -15, -6730, -200 post-revamp.

You say, 'Hail, Oracle of K`Arnon'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Greetings, ______, I am the Oracle of K'Arnon. Do you quest for [knowledge] yourself, or do you offer that which I [seek]?'

You say, 'What about knowledge?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I have lived long and have insight into many matters, yet I despise charity. To learn from me, you must first bring me that which I [seek].'

You say, 'What do you seek?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I seek knowledge, which is superior to all things. And no knowledge is greater than that which is contained within the [Tome of Ages].'

You say, 'What is the Tome of Ages?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'The Tome of Ages has been compiled over the millennia by the Scribes of [Dal]. It was divided into seven distinct books by the scribes to keep the knowledge from one such as me. That said, with aid, I shall unite these books and the Tome of Ages shall be mine.'

You say, 'What about the Dal?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'They were elves once, but now are Teir'Dal, and as evil as they are wise. Many tomes have they written, but none greater than the Tome of Ages.'

You say, 'What about the Book of Ages?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'The seven Books that make up the Tome of Ages are those of Enlightenment, Scale, Turmoil, Monuments, Elders, Blood, and the Lost Book. Each of these great books is an important chapter in the history of Norrath. If ever you find one of these books, bring it to me.'

You say, 'What about the Book of Enlightenment?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Book of Enlightenment at this time, but I might have need of it in the future.'

You say, 'What about the Book of Scale?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Ah, the Book of Scale.. It would be wondrous indeed if you could recover the Book of Scale for me. If you do manage to procure the Book of Scale, I will gladly part with an artifact of my own that may be of interest to you.'

Giving him the Book of Scale nets you Miragul's Phylactery, used in the Fiery Avenger quest, a subquest for the Paladin epic.

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Unbelievable! The legendary Book of Scale is mine! Please, take this as a small token of my thanks. I warn you however, if you ever manage to join the corporeal body to the evil that resides within, you will rue the day.'

Your faction standing with Oracle Of Karnon got better.
Your faction standing with Oracle Of Marud got worse.
You gain experience!!

You say, 'What about the Book of Turmoil?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Ah, yes! The Book of Turmoil. I seek this book, and should you find it and return it to me, I will reward you with secret knowledge.'

Giving him the Book of Turmoil,

Oracle of K`Arnon says, 'Thank thee for this tome. Be sure to check back with me later, as I might have another task for thee.'
Your faction standing with Oracle of K`Arnon has been adjusted by 10.
Your faction standing with Oracle of Marud has been adjusted by -10.
You gain experience!

You say, 'What about the Book of Monuments?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Book of Monuments at this time, but I might have need of it in the future.

You say, 'What about the Book of Elders?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Book of Elders at this time, but I might have need of it in the future.

You say, 'What about the Book of Blood?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Book of Blood at this time, but I might have need of it in the future.

You say, 'What about the Lost Book?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Lost Book at this time, but I might have need of it in the future.'

Something else rather interesting I might add that a assistant was added to the banker in High keep, her name escapes me atm, but she is the one that you give the keys to now instead of the banker her self, it's part of a quest that startas in Eurdin the name of the quest escapes me atm, so in any event perhaps the have finaly started to do something more on the quest it may very well be that when we go to up the assistant after GoD comes out that we might find more information. Or maybe the Orcle has decided to take a lover and asistant title is just a cover. ;o)

A patch a couple of months back made it impossible to give things to NPCs flagged as bankers, which was problematic since some of them took items as part of quests. To fix the problem, new "assistant" mobs were created that took the bankers' old role in the quests. Now the bankers only do banking, and the assistants do the quest-related stuff.

i received an email the other day about a new tradeskill quest that was supposed to go live really soon. and how it had something to do with all the clues that were put in the eqrpg books. amongst them is the grand robe of the oracle. now what that has to do exactly with the tome of ages im not sure. maybe it wont mean a thing, but i went to visit the oracle and i noticed a new guy hanging around him. assist julyan or something like that. maybe part of this new quest might have something to do with the tome of ages. i have noticed that the oracle is mentioned alot in the eqrpg books.

Well,

We now know that takish-hiz lies (LDoN) under the north desert of ro. In fact, in 2 of the dungeons I have adventured in, many scrolls, parchments, faded manuscripts, and the like have been dropped.

dunno if that helps,

I am convinced that that this quest is either broken or incomplete.

First. Did the Oracle exist before Kunark? Because the Book of scale is used only in the pally epic and epics were added with kunark this NPC could not have asked for the book of scale before kunark.

Second. It appears that the quest for the Book of Turmoil only seems to exist to boost your faction with the oracle in case you've killed him in the past for his robe. That would explain why it's so easy. Although I don't know how a pally is supposed to get all the way into Neriak: 3rd Gate
in order to do it.

The fact than when you ask the oracle about the other books and he says he doesn't need them means that those parts of the quest have not been implemented yet and the other books don't exist in the game.

Another thing, if the result of this quest is supposed to be so great why is the Book of Turmoil quest so easy? You would think that each step would be hard. Also if the Tome of ages is supposed to port you to different places, as speculated in this forum, it doesn't seem to be an adequate reward for killing 2 dragons and whatever else you would be expected to do to complete the other steps of this quest. If the other steps are as difficult as the Book of Scale quest the Tome of Ages would have to be better than just about any epic.

Yes the Oracle has existed from day 1. The Turmoil quest I *believe* was there at the beginning also. I do rememeber solving it before the spoilers for it were put up, yes it's not that hard.

The quest for the book of scale was put in later, but before the epics. At that time the fiery avenger WAS the paladin epic so to speak, and the paladin was one of the few classes that had such a thing. I *think* it was before kunark, but not long before. It was a long time ago :P

As for the rest of the books, yes I'd have to agree that they do not exist, and never have. The book of scale at one time gave the same message he gives for the other books, "I do not seek the Book of Scale at this time...". When the Fiery Avenger quest was added, he changed his message when asked about it.

It's too bad that they put little teasers like this in the game and after such a long time, would probably end up with a cruddy reward.

Either way... the teasers may simply be that... teasers... placeholders for other quests that MAY or MAY NOT be implemented.

Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if one day someone asks, "what Lost Book?" and receives:

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'I do not seek the Lost Book at this time, but if you would like to learn more of this Age, purchase Lords of EverQuest, the new RTS brought to you by Sony... with a link to the product.

Ok, the emporer in Veksar appears to be dropping another "book of scale" this could be a new lead, but it surfaces the question, "What is the difference, why are there 2?". Personally, my 63 cleric is bound in the firepot room, because i liekt raveling to cities ratehr than books, but what intrigues me is that qeynos is not a city u can port to. Also, if you notice the pots, theya re distinguishable by the ones used in the cities, or the logos on them. Anyone ever look at freeport's pot? the black one with the dark face inside the box..... Don't tell me that's a human. The combine empire fell, and qeynos hadn't existed, but somehow freeport had. Freeport was there, but not exactly "freeport". I think something else was there.... And personally i want this tome because i'm that intrigued, not because it's a faster way to travel, plus, you know i hate that pot in qeynos sewars no one can pick, post any leads

i dont know if this has anything to do with that, but according to the eq rpg books, this used to be the dark elf city of Wielle. here is a small quote from the book.

"Before, the time of the combine empire or the coming of Aataltaal, when the Elddar forest covered the southeastern coast of the continent (then called tunaria), the empire of Caerthielian controlled the norteastern quarter of the landmass. there is some debate as to the origin and fall of Caerthielian, but it is clear that the empire included dark elves in positions of great power and that it had contact with the high elves of Takish-Hiz.
Some time before the wars of Rallos Zek, the Caerthielians built the city of Wielle on the site of modern Freeport...."

this could explain why the freeport pot looks like that (although ive never seen it from experience.) what i find more interesting is that nearly all the rpg books mention the oracle. the gm guide seems to be weaving a tale around him. im wondering why this is?

Looking through some of this , someone posted this about the seven ages .

1)age of scale. when veeshan scared the world and deposited the dragons.

2)the eldar age. when brell got involved and made a pact with tunare, prexus and rallos zek to make creatures and take it from veeshan.

3)the age of monuments. innoruuk creates dark elves. brell makes another pact this time with rallos zek, cazic-thule, and brislebane. it was in this age that the zek races tried to fight the gods and were punished.

4)age of blood. erollisi and mithanial marr go to norrath and make the barbarians (which fought with everything they came in contact with. hence the bloody part)

5)The lost age. sol ro destroyes the elddar forest, takish-hiz crumbled elves leave tunaria (antonica). humans are made. and the creation and fall of the combine.

6)age of enlightenmeent. humans settle in freeport and qeynos. tunaria gets named antonica (after antonious bayle III) humans learn magic and the erudite leave for odus.

7)age the turmoil. miragul rediscovers necromancy and the eruidite civil war begins. the vah shir are translocated to luclin and the hole was created. paineel was created.

Glancing at some of the other info , I kinda noticed a pattern .

1. The Book of Scale is about the age when Veeshan dropped her brood on Norrath . What do you get the halves of the books ? Two exiled dragons .

2. The Book of Turmoil is supposedly the chapter about the civil war and partial destruction of Odus , as well as the revival of Necromancy . This book is received from a scribe whom I suppose has ties with necromancy .

Perhaps the other books might be found within areas regarding the other ages ? Prexus created the Kedge .. maybe something regarding the Elder age could be found in one of the oceans or Kedge Keep ? Rallos Zek created the ogres , and their empire covered most of southern Antonica before they were cursed for killing the Rathe Council near present Oggok .. Tunare created the original elves , which I think are the wood elves . Maybe someone in Kelethin or Felwithe might have a clue ? As for Brell , that may well be a dead end . So many races claim to be his children , it'd be difficult to chase down so many leads . His supposed races are the goblins , gnolls , gnomes , halflings (? Maybe ), and of course the dwarves .

The Age of Monument may have some information in Felwithe , Neriak , Befallen , Mistmoore , or Najena . Oggok may also be a good place , if you can find a competent ogre .
Age of Blood is pretty vague . Odus , Halas , Qeynos , Freeport , and the outlying areas may be the best bets here , though it's unlikely any of the knowledge may have survived .

The Lost Age would be a good place to check the Ro's and elven communities . Befallen , again , would be a good place , as would Innothule . I believe it was about this time that Innothule was vaporized by some high elf wizards , and many trolls were slain by paladins guarding the only escape route . Sro may be a good place to look around .

Enlightenment is the age of magic . Check with the heads of the caster guilds , as well as Odus . Paineel might be an exclusion , as it wasn't created during this age .

These are just a few assumptions , but if this quest really works , those might be the best places ..

Something to think about, everyone...

In a previous post on this page, the oracle is quoted to saying he does not need the books yet, but he may need them at a later time. Has anyone tried turning in all the books they do have at once? I was just reading through and thought this might help, hope it does.

The problem is that just 2 different books the oracle is asking for are known. And the Book of Scale drops in 2 halves off Vox and Nagafen. They are also part of the Paladin Epic, hence Paladins are asking for the 2 halves on a dragon raid.

The other book is an easy quest in Neriak. This however is a problem since Paladins are not best friends with darkelves :)

I could give 4 book of turmoil at the same time which would result in 4 glowing torches and 4 faction hits. I've done this part approx. 20 times and it is boring as hell! I might want to do the quest soon again though. At the moment I continue levelling, but I won't forget this quest at all :)

I'm done with trying...
# Feb 17 2003 at 8:23 AM Rating: Default
Guys... I think this quest is pointless... I could be wrong, but from my understanding The Tome of Ages was a way to travel port free all over Norrath... Through the references to the firepot room and the such, to the areas all over Norrath that when clicked give you the message "you do not have the key" and can not be pick locked with the highest skill possible..

Also, and perhaps the most best reason that this quest seems to be dead is this message found in the EQ atlas...

"I suspect you may know something of how to journey to the Plane of Knowledge yourself. I wonder, if I had known the fate that awaited me would I still have gone to visit the Oracle in the Ocean of Tears? Would I have followed his counsel to seek the Fallen?"

This seems to mean that since PoP has come out, even if we did find the solution to this quest, it woul be worthless...

Although I admire everyone that has put so much effort into this quest, I think it is time to call is quits. 4+ years and hardly any new leads, and a little hint that the quest is usless now.. I for one am going to stop trying to do this.

I have killed the above named NPC in Mistmoore before. She has dropped an illegibal scroll. I know other forms of this items exist, such as the one found on Orc Apprentices in East Commonlands, but this ones graphic looked different. I have also heard of a gnome in Freeport that can decipher illegibal things. Being a Necromancer I have not had the oppurtunity to hand in this scroll, if anyone else ever has the time could they attempt to hand this in? I am curious as to what it is and the Princess seems to tie in well with this Quest, being a female Dark Elf in Mistmoore.

It might be possible that this scroll is used in the Iksar SK Quest "Crusader's Test of the Lord" though the walkthrough says that the 2 scrolls from Mistmoore drops off the dark librarian and The assistant dark librarian.

Have you ID'ed the scroll? How does the icon look like ?

However, it might be worth a try - nowadays the items won't be eaten by the NPCs :)

i went up to the oracle today and asked him "who is marud?" the oracle said. "he's an imposter. those upstart erudites are jealous of the elddar and the knowledge we possess."

also i find it interesting that the oracle is looking for the book on the first age the scale, and the last book, the age of turmoil. not only what but why would he list them out of order?

im trying to find someone that will answer to the question "who is marud?" but ive yet to find on. from what the oracle said its kinda obvious that the oracle of marud is an erudite where is he? someone in the game has to know of him.

one last question. why does the oracle claim to be a member of the dark bargainers? those are the dark elf merchants, so why would one of the first high elves born in felwithe, who was raised in the temple of tunare, and became the royal advisor to the elven king identify himself as a member of the merchants of an enmemy race? that doesnt make sense. i suspect something is up there

(info on the oracle comes from the maps of myrist)

i was just reading some of the earlier posts. refering to takish-hiz and the lost book. there was lots of speculation whether this city was infact befallen or somewhere in oasis. we still can not fully answer that question, but there is info we should look at. with the release of eq atlas: the maps of myrist. lots of new lore has been released. amongst this lore the history of befallen. the book says "some, namely the Teir'Dal, claim it [befallen] to be the remnants of Taikish Hiz, the great Koada'Dal city that resided within the Eddlar forest." its also say that others think befallen is a forgotten citadel of the knights of truth. now it says that the teir'dal are the ones who claim befallen to be takish hiz. the scribes of dal are teir'dal. now this may be trivail but doesnt the floor of befallen resemble the floor in felwithe? they both have that chess board tile thing going on. now im not saying befallen has anything to do with the book of the last but, i just wanted to clear that up.

now for the counter arguement. oasis. the spectar towar in oasis is also mentioned in the atlas book. one theory is that it is the last standing relic of takish hiz, other say it is more recent and was built by a cult of the prince of hate or the faceless.

which is true? i dont know. does it have anythign to do with the lost book or any of the other book concerning the tome of ages? no idea. but i just thought id clear this up incase on of you guys might be able to understand something.

tower in oasis (now part of s. ro) is definitely linked to the dark bargainers and innoruuk somehow. If you climb the invisible ladder inside to the top you find a symbol for inny on the ground which is very similar to one found in rathe mountians...and to one on the roof of neriak commons where the 3 mages/wizzie women stand.

I also don't know about Takish-Hiz, but I don't believe Befallen is Takish-Hiz.

Referring to the Spectre Tower in Oasis, did anyone ever noticed that sigil in it? I've found this sigil in many places on Norrath, even Neriak has it. Does it mean it is a DE Sigil? Why would it be in so many places then? I know it is not connected to this quest, but I am curious what it stands for. If it would refer to (Dark)elven History then the Spectre Tower would be an ancient elven tower. Also the tower in Lake Rathe has this sigil. I've even found it in The Hole, does this make sense ?? Mistmoore has it as well (it is confirmed that Mayong is indeed very very old). Some other places have it as well.

Now I don't think that it would help us solving this quest, but does anyone else (except the first fist of light) has information about it?

Just a thought but maybe since this reward of this quest is a book that will teleport you all over, maybe they are places you can teleport to?

If this should really be the case (I don't think so tho), then good luck to the folks who will be teleported to the middle of the Hole :)

Ok, everyone knows that this is an quest of EQ Classic - but what about Beta? See my post some posts back, Kunark and Velious were part of Beta, so it could be possible that this quest does involve Kunark or/and Velious.

However, the hint with Najena is an interesting one. Anyone know if it is possible to raise faction with Najena so that I could speak with her?

EDIT: I assume that also Miragul is involved into this - like someone else said already, there are too many links to him. I also know of a quest in Paineel to raise faction with the lich of miragul, however it is a 50+ quest which I am not able to do yet. The Quest I am talking about is this one: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=662

Pally Epic Books confirmed
# Dec 07 2002 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
You do indeed need the books which all epic craving paladins seek as is proved here: http://www.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=10

What the book of Turmoil is for, or the other mentioned books is still in the dark. Turn in the book of Turmoil leaves no further clues. Turning in the book of Scale only gives you the item needed to spawn the true Miragul in Everfrost for a pally to get his 2 epic items off him.

My friend suspects the book from the oracle to be linked to the Firepots. Pasting what she said without her consent. Rawr! Love ya hun =)

"miragul was rumored to have an ancient magical highway, put the firepot room to shame, it allowed two way transport between a whole lot of different places. lots of those places are still in the game....this is about a few firepots that you click on and it says you dont have a key... the key was the "#%ยค book."

Anyhow, it's clear what the Book of Scale is, so stop speculating in that. Whats the book of turmoil for? How come he wont respond when you turn it in? Need a particular, little used, little known faction to amiable to make it work?

Actually the Oracle replies when you turn in the book... However it is useful for nothing :)

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Thank thee for this tome. Be sure to check back with me later, as I might have another task for thee.'
Your faction standing with Oracle Of Karnon got better.
Your faction standing with Oracle Of Marud got worse.
You gain experience!!

He won't respond to 'what task' or 'what about another task' :(
I was also thinking in a faction problem - so i raised my faction to amiably (I try to raise it more - also to find out who the Oracle of Marud is, because he would be KoS then to me) but I am stuck at amiably now after turning in the book of turmoil 11 times.
Something that is strange is this:

You say, 'what book of turmoil'
Oracle of K`Arnon says 'Ah, yes! The Book of Turmoil. I seek this book, and should you find it and return it to me, I will reward you with secret knowledge.'

Secret knowledge? In form of a glowing torch ? He won't tell something about that neither :( I'll try to use the book with one of the firepots (actually I am aware of only one in Qeynos Aqueducts) - maybe that will give some further clues.
<EDIT>
I believe that the question is not what the book of turmoil might be for but what the glowing torch is for! What does he mean with secret knowledge?
Even if i ID the torch it won't give any information. I'll try to find it out (still have another 7 of these torches).
</EDIT>
The next thing is to get allied with the Oracle, perhaps he has more to tell then.

Ok, I've tried to use the firepot in Qeynos Aqueducts. It was not working, whether with the Book of Turmoil nor with the glowing torch. I tried to wield the item as well as pressing 'U' - nada. So I've thought that probably the teleporter in Everfrost Cave would work and i started my trip to the caves... Again nothing :(
Any other ideas?

For the next days I will try to get allied faction with the Oracle - I'll post more info then.
New clue ?

I've just started doing some in-game research on this quest, after following it for over a year.
When I was checking out the library in erudin (a logical place to start my research, I thought) I ran into a female erudite in the library top floor. Here follows the log of our conversation:

[Tue Nov 26 15:38:27 2002] You say, 'Hail, Sornita Eltern'
[Tue Nov 26 15:38:28 2002] Sornita Eltern says 'Greetings, Kanuwen! Please be do not speak too loudly while inside the library. If you need anything special, feel free to ask me. I am a member of the Crimson Hands and my specialty is divination. In my research I have stumbled across many [rare tomes].'
[Tue Nov 26 15:38:40 2002] You say, 'What rare tomes ?'
[Tue Nov 26 15:38:40 2002] Sornita Eltern says 'Why, just yesterday I stumbled upon what I believe to be an excerpt from Miragul's own treatise on the origin of the creatures known as scarecrows. Such a work is heresy and would be destroyed if the High Council knew of its existence so I have been tight-lipped about my discovery. If you would like to see it, I will show it to you, for a nominal donation of 20 gold pieces.'
[Tue Nov 26 15:38:51 2002] Sornita Eltern says 'Oh, yes. Very good friend. Here is the document I mentioned. It would seem to be part of a larger body of work, but this page describes a Teir'Dal who it seems was instrumental in creating the head of the very first scarecrow. You may keep that as it is merely a magical duplicate of the original document which I have carefully hidden.'
[Tue Nov 26 15:38:51 2002] You gain experience!!

She wouldnt give me the tome though. The Teir'Dal in question is probably Mayong Mistmoore, I picked up a text a few months ago regarding MM's research on animating Scarecrows. I dont have the contents of the text with me now, so I'll have to get back to you on this. I will continue my research tonight, heading into Castle Mistmoore in my quest for the Tome of Ages.

I also tried to get more information out of her (like asking where the original is hidden). The copy she will give you for 20 gold is connected to the quest in Rivervale - Shakey, the scarecrow https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=60

If you talk to one of the halflings you get a clue to start your research in Erudin - thus Sornita Eltern. This quest is unsolved so far, it might not hurt to take a closer look in MM. Though I believe it is not Mayong Mistmoore but his love(?) Tserinna in the Tower of Frozen Shadow. What if you just return the note to Reebo? I've never tried it - as a DE the halflings don't like me much :)

After some time in the thinking hat I thought perhaps that this everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4112 item might be used in the quest. Perhaps it is used to trap a soul inside a scarecrow?

aha...I remember toying with that quest with my halfling druid. hrm. I will look into this shakey stuff. My WE druid should have enough faction there (ami or kindly, dont remember) to do it if it's not broken. A lot of things seem to link back to MM though. Hrm. And the Mayong himself hasnt been up since beta I believe :)
Something New?

I have just recently started my investigation into the Tome of Ages quest and I must admit my information is sketchy at best but I did notice one thing while doing the Book of Turmoil Quest in Neriak I did the Red Wine quest just for the hell of it and got the note from Lokar To'Biath to take to his sister, Rysva To'Biath. After giving her this note and reading it, I read something at the bottom I havent noticed in any other posts here in Allakhazam, Everlore, Castersrealm, or Gaffe. The note is quite long so I will just post the part that caught my attention

"In return, I shall give you the Book of Turmoil, one of the books in the Tome of Ages. If you need any other of these books restored, I will do so for 1000 platinum"

The part about restoring other books is the part I have not read in any of my research online. I may have missed it but I dont think I have. Is this the person who combines the two halves of the Book of Scale? Someone suggested that the Book of Blood may be scattered all over the place as well. Maybe some of the books for the Tome of Ages are pieces you have to bring to a D'al scribe to have them combined. The other thought that occured to me was that in my personal interview with the oracle and in reading the info from the oracle in the posts of others, I saw nothing to indicate the Oracle of Ar'kanon is himself a D'al scribe. So maybe the books are not turned in to him. Has anyone tried turning in the known books into the NPC's we know to be D'al scribes? (I.E. turning the book of scale into Rysva To'Biath)

Just some thoughts. I must put the disclaimer that I am new to this quest and have only been playing EQ since Sept 2001. Feel free to criticise, I hear it all the time. My name and server are posted in my signature so you all know where to find me if you have a really nasty gripe about my post

Yes, she is the person whom you have to give the two halves of the book of scale. The note is a hint that the other books for the 'Tome of Ages' drop in pieces. Turning in the books into R. To'Biath does not work - the only person I've found so far is the Oracle (i tried several persons in Erudin).
I don't like to criticise anyone :) Just telling my experience with this quest - which will make me probably very old.
Here's something new

Just got my copy of the Maps of Myrist. Here's an exerpt from the introduction;
"I suspect you may know something of how to journey to the Plane of Knowledge yourself. I wonder, if I had known the fate that awaited me would I still have gone to visit the Oracle in the Ocean of Tears? Would I have followed his counsel to seek the Fallen?"

Ok, so who are the "Fallen"? It would be those evil Erudites in Paineel, right?

Others have posted info that mentions the Cave of Living Stone or something like that. There's been lots of speculation on what that means. Here's another bit from the Maps of Myrist;
"It was during these explorations that they came across the Vault of Living Stone. This artifact is said to have been created by Brell Serilis to seal the passageway he had opened from the Plane of Underfoot to Norrath. It was through this passageway that he had brought his creations. Once he had finished his seeding, he put the Vault of Living Stone in place. The vault was a magical construct designed to perpetually repair itself and keep Norrath safe from Lord Yael's forces and the more vicious denizens of the Plane of Underfoot."
The preceeding is an exerpt taken from the book's background on The Hole.
The book has several pages specifically about about the new planes but there isn't a section dedicated to the Plane of Underfoot like several other Planes/places.

That's all I got for now. I plan to ask the Oracle about the "Fallen" just as soon as he pops. I'll post if I get anything.

"The Fallen" might refer to a fallen person, like some undead paladin / cleric , perhaps a fallen oracle? a corrupted soul of some sorts?
Look into it, I will.

I'm not sure if this helps, but some things in EQ relating to 'Fallen':

A quest for the Writ of the Fallen (very nice newbie DE/Necro quest item) which talks about it being an ancient necromancer book.
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=11982

There are only two factions with 'fallen' in it. Befallen Residents and Fallen of Bloody Kithicor. Heretics is the name of Paineel's faction. Both Befallen and Kithicor have DE's in them, which I think relates to the 'Dal' but I am not aware of anything in those zones that helps much.

I have quested for the Writ of the Fallen, indeed a very nice item, even at level 38 :)
Unfortunately this item cannot be read - the graphic just displays an open book...
So, this book is a dead end...

Update to my update...
Attempts with phrases including "the Fallen" yielded nothing. Nada.
So I killed the smelly little Gnome.

You say, 'What about the Dal?'

Oracle of K`Arnon says 'They were elves once, but now are Teir'Dal, and as evil as they are wise. Many tomes have they written, but none greater than the Tome of Ages.

So basicly its saying that most the scribes were Dal know Teir'Dal and the only people i remeber turning into Teir'dal were the king and queen, The name slips my mind, going to check in the libary in nek to see if i can trigger anything cya all
