After you give Byzar Bloodforge the two ogre heads in the ogre head quest, he asks if you'd be willing to take a little trip. If you say you will, he tells you about Trumpy Irontoe. He says he doesn't know where he is, but that he had been engaged to his sister and ran off on her. He wants his head for this affront to the family honor and promises to make you an honorary member of the Bloodforge Brigade for returning the head. Trumpy hangs out at the Fish's Ale in Qeynos. Your reward for this quest is usually a bloodforge hammer, a very nice 2HB magical weapon.

The secret to killing Trumpy is you have to get him away from Barstomper. In order to do this you ask him in the bar about Sragg. He then gets all puffy and walks out. If you follow him he will get quite a ways from the bar. You can then safely attack and kill him. Be warned he will run away so a good root spell or snare is a good idea. Also, he is in good with the corrupt guards and they might help him if they see him getting attacked. Do not chase him either he will come back if you let him and enventually he will run back by barstomper and then you have a much bigger fight on your hands.

You must have a good faction in order to be able to get the hammer. Trumpy's head is now a no trade/no drop item, so you can't give it to a dwarf to get the hammer, but must raise your own faction to get it. If you hail him first he will tell you about some beads. If you ask him about the beads you will know if you have a good faction. He may say that your shifty eyes tell him you are not good and in that case you do not. If you do then you can give him the head and he will give you the Bloodforge Hammer. Completing this quest will give the following faction changes: increase with Storm Guard, Kazon Stormhammer, Miners Guild 249 and Merchants of Kaladim, and decrease with Craknek Warriors.

Trantor Everhot says 'Great! I did not have the time to get down to Irontoe's today. Here. Like I said. A spool of dwarven wire. Now go away. I ain't sharing these tonics.'

Sythik's 2016 write-up:

Byzar Bloodforge is at location -40, 395 in South Kaladim.

After completing the Ogre Head quest:

Byzar Bloodforge says 'I underestimated you. You are truly a great warrior. I reward you with a piece of my own Bloodforge armor. You would be fine Bloodforge Brigade material. How would you like to [take a little trip] in the name of the Bloodforge Brigade?'

You say, 'I will take a little trip'

Byzar Bloodforge says 'Yes. You will do. My sister was once engaged to a fellow warrior. He disgraced her and left her crying at the altar. I will have his head for such a slap in the face of my family. His name was Trumpy Irontoe, once a member of the now defunct Irontoe Brigade. I know not where he went. Find his whereabouts and return his head to me. Do so, and I shall make you an honorary member of the Bloodforge Brigade.'

Trumpy Irontoe is at location -300, -250 inside Fish's Ale in South Qeynos.

Trumpy Irontoe says 'Prepare to meet my iron toe!'

Byzar Bloodforge says 'Ha! His death brings me great happiness. I owe you much. Take this hammer. It is the hammer of the Bloodforge Brigade. May it serve you well. Now go, so I can enjoy this moment of happiness alone.'

BAH!! For all of you who didn't know none of the Irontoes are related. They were part of some old Kaladim guard squad. Two of the Irontoe surivors are writing things in the sewers (Thumpy With a "THU" and Dumpy? haven't seen the d yet), 1 is in West Karana/Qeynos Hills (Crumpy yes with the "C", he traveles from WK to the zone to QH and when he hits the zone he vanashes), one is (as we know) in the bar ( Trumpy with a "TRU"),another is in South Kaladim (Tumpy with a "TU" NO "R" at Irontoe's Eats), and finally 1 in the Tutorial (Prumpy Irontoe, the first person you meet). Well thats it no typos there. If you want to kknow more about the Irontoes ask around Kaladim.

Just an FYI. I Connec "Warmly to Mr. Bloodforge (I turned ina lot of belts and the like). Well I was sick of holding onto the dwarf head, and I didn't want to hunt ogres like the Quest says you need to, so I just gave him the head. Well guess what, I got the reward 100%. So go kill stinky a whole bunch, no need to kill the ogres anymore.
OUCH!!!

Yep, he's not hard to kill though he does run at half HPs. Now, whenever he sees me Bruno and the Corrupt Q Guards chase me. I now have to hide around the corner from the Mermaids Lure and run to the boat for Erudin as Trumpy has a tendancy to stroll and throw the fishermans tackle box in the water. No more turning gnoll fangs for me. No sir!

Okay, I conned Trumpy with my 12 warrior, and he was green. I figure they made it seem easy to kill him, but when Barstomper or one of the corrupt guards comes to get you, you'd better zone as quickly as possible! Also--if you've done the corrupt guard quest, it might not be good to do this one since they don't like you anyway.
easier way to get hammer
# Jun 17 2001 at 2:38 AM Rating: Default
If you go to the crossroads in butcherblock, there is a guy named nyziak bloodforge or something like that, and some high necro killed him and said he dropped this. It was the bloodforge hammer, and you can't sell it. That's what I found out. Not sure what level, but seems easier than finding heads and turning them in. He has two guards at the door, but sometimes he comes out.

im on the vallon zek server and i have terrible faction with dwarfs so i was killing alot of orcs in CB but my faction was still bad. If you kill the Orc slavers and free the dwarven sslaves you will get much beetter faction. I think i killed to many dwarfs
Don't overdo this quest

I've killed Trumpy twice. After the second kill, I ran all the way back to Kaladim to turn in his head and headed on to Kunark from there to sample the fine killing there and didn't go back for quite a while. Today I went back and had to go to Qeynos to do some business and while I was selling a couple of items to a merchant, I saw messages popping up "Trumpy Irontoe hits you for 1 point of damage." OUCH!!! LOL I finished up what I was doing and turned to my side and sure enough, there he was giving it all he had to scratch that awful itch on my thigh. I went ahead and engaged him and took him down to about 1/3 health before he took off toward Barstomper's for help. I knew exactly where he was going and who he was going to get so I broke off and went ahead and zoned into Qeynos north. The point of all this is that you can only do the quest a couple of times before things become difficult for you around the dock area in Qeynos south, so be careful. Happy hunting!!

I was in Qeynos with guild friends and saw Trumpy. He conned green to me at 21 so I chopped his little head off. I then went to Kaladim and hailed Byzar Bloodforge. He asked about the gobbie beads and I said "I am here to return goblin beads". He then replied with some message so I figured I had high enough faction.
How to tell if faction is good enough
# Nov 08 2000 at 3:58 AM Rating: Good
Say, "i will take a little trip"

If he says, "Your shifty eyes tell me that you are no ally of the Stormguard" then you need to kill some more orcs or whatever before giving him Trumpy's head.

Faction is actually a number, like "200" or whatever, so it's not enough to say "I did this with amiable faction, and it worked." Was it high amiable or low amiable? It's a pretty big range, and you have no way of knowing where you are in the range, or exactly where you need to be. Always, always test your faction with the keywords for getting the quest BEFORE you turn in the items.

Fun quest. If you need faction just go Hunt in Crushbone for a while, you'll be warmly in no time..
Can't tell faction by bead quest
# Oct 23 2000 at 10:15 AM Rating: Default
He will give you the bead quest even if your faction isn't high enough for the hammer, I wasted a trip from Qeynos because of this. The only way to tell is to do the bead quest and see if you can turn in the beads, otherwise you'll just get the head eaten like I did.
RE: Can't tell faction by bead quest
# Nov 15 2000 at 10:01 AM Rating: Default
You don't have to do the bead quest to see if faction is high enough. If you ask Vacto about the scarab breastplates and get the shifty eyes message then it's too low, if you don't then you can turn in the head and get the hammer.
Ogre Heads
# Oct 17 2000 at 9:07 AM Rating: Default
Ok I got Corflunk and Zarchoomi's heads and turned them in to him. Before i did i conned him and said regards you warmly or such. So i turned in head and got bloodforge bracer, nothing special 5ac and magical for whatever good that does, but after i hailed him again he said nothing to me about the trumpy quest. Does he have to ask me about quest in order for me to get the bloodforge hammer or can i just go get trumpy's head? Also on faction is amiably and warmly the same thing? I went to Crushbone and killed orcs forever to raise faction and most dwarves all say regard me warmly. IMHO you'd think warmly would rate higer than amiable but any way if someone could answer these question i would highly appreciate it.

I did the ogre head quest too. I found that to get the Trumpy quest you dont need to do the head quest. all you need to di is give 7 crushbone belts to Byzer's pal starts with a 'C' Coenle or somthing like that. and you faction will jump up to amiable. then say to Byzer " i will be willing to go on a little trip." that will start you off on your quest.
Good luck,
Papal

Warmly vs. amiably
# Oct 17 2000 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
Warmly is one step up from amiably. Amiably is one step up from indifferent. You should have no problem getting the hammer if you turn in Trumpy's head. You don't need to get the quest from him first.
RE: Warmly vs. amiably
# May 09 2001 at 6:33 PM Rating: Decent
Warmly is NOT one step up from amiably here is the faction chart:
Warmly-Best you can get
Kindly-Almost all quests can be done
Amiably-Most quests can be done
Indifferent-Neutral
Apperehensivly-No quests can be done though usually merchants sell to you
Dubiously-No quests and no merchants
Scowling-Kills on sight

When Darkenedeyes made his post back in May, there was no ally in the faction chart. Verant Inc. added the ally faction in a patch in late May. In the future, ghet, please look at the date of the post before you flame a person. A.U.B.
RE: Warmly vs. amiably
# Jul 09 2001 at 7:12 AM Rating: Default
Warmly is not the best you can get. Ally is best that you can get. I have hunted in Crushbone so much that my faction in CB say it could not possibly get any worse and my stormguard could not posibly get any better. All the merchants in Kaladim and in the Warriors guild con as ally to me now.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 2:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

Good quest for Shaman
# Sep 06 2000 at 11:38 AM Rating: Default
I did this quest pretty easily at level 9 with my Barbarian Shaman. Killing Trumpy isn't difficult, so long as you get him alone outside the bar. The only difficulty is the travel. I stripped naked and put everything I own in the bank (including the head). With SoW and a little luck, the run through the Karanas takes some time but isn't a problem. Just do it during the day and steer clear of the aggressive creatures in NK and EK. Go through Highhold at a time when many others are online, because there will likely be players keeping the gnolls and orcs clear, or at least clear enough to allow you to run through to the safety of Highpass guards and citizens without being stunned by tough MOBS.
I conned indifferent to Byzar but raised my faction by going to the orc hill in Greater Faydark and healing others who were attacking the orcs. Using minor healing, it didn't take much mana or time to get my faction up to amiable.
I died three times: (1) I was caught by a highland lion that could outrun my SoW; (2) I was killed by a group of smugglers in a side cave in HH who didn't like my race; and (3) I was killed by a wandering faerie guard in GF who didn't like my race. We barbs just can't get a break.
Which class is this best?
# Sep 01 2000 at 2:18 AM Rating: Default
What class is this best for? I have a warrior but wouldn't that being extremely dangerous since he can run away and come back with buddies? Is this best done when in a group or someone who can cast?
RE: Which class is this best?
# Oct 02 2000 at 4:26 PM Rating: Default
I did this with a level 8 cleric (just the kill trumpy part), and he is very easy. I caught him near the dock after the bit with Faren, and attacked him. when he started to run away, but he ran very slowly from all the damage I had done. He did not get very far though, because he was so slow. You should be able to do this with any high damage class ( I was doing about 18 a hit).
Level 6 Mage - Too easy
# Oct 08 2000 at 11:09 AM Rating: Decent
I killed him with a level 6 Mage and pet, only took about 30% hp and my pet was at 100% the whole fight. Too bad I'm KoS in the Bloodsabre guild, and I can't use the hammer, so the Kaladim branch is useless... *sigh*

# Aug 29 2000 at 11:44 AM Rating: Default
All weapons should be free, like the Bloodforge Hammer. Killing Trumpy Irontoe takes 2 minutes. The journey to South Qeynos and back to Kaladim took me all day. But it was worth it.
RE: Raise 2H Blunt
# Mar 31 2001 at 10:18 PM Rating: Default
Nice weapon but the delay could get you killed if you're not careful. Sure, damage output for me at LV 22 was around 26 points, but still, that delay puts me off using it much. Personal preference I guess. Happy hunting!!

I hate slow weapons too. Seems like everyone says "But I deal 3 times as much damage in one hit as you" and I say "But I attack 5 times more often than you, so I have the potential for more damage than you" Slow weapons bite, imho
