Did this for the first time at 4th lvl, after saving the glands from the start - got Fear (9th lvl spell). Not a bad deal!

I did this quest 3 times to day with my lvl 5 rogue. Yes i had to do the bone chip quest sevral times before i got my faction high enough with the clerics for me to get this quest. but once i did i just watched the exp flow in. i got 3 blue each time i handed in the 4 skunk glands and some cleric spell that i could only sell for 7 silver or something like that.
very much worth it for the exp i say.

After starting a dwarf pally, I kept all the Skunk glands I got from my newbie hacking, and I must of killed a good half century of these things - I got 3 glands for my troubles, you're probably better off doing the bone chip quest IMHO just because its much easier to get them chips.

I had my wood elf and tried to do it when I was merely indifferent, and got nothing. Worst part? Three sets of bone chips later (I had been doing them for a bit already) and I bumped to amiable with the clerics. :(

This post is not really related to this quest, but since it is about clerics I will post here.
Is there such thing as the Initiate/Deciple/Regent of Brell (A diety specific neck piece) like other races get?

there are initiate and disciple symbols of brell. initiate is something like wis +1 mana +2, effect strengthen. disciple symbol(best dwf cleric item in the game, IMHO) is something like wis +2 mana +7 effect: summon holy ale of brell, which summons a stack of ale, your lvl/2 =)

I am The Worrior Evillynn, I did this quest at Level 12 and got a Level 9 cleric spell and 2 level 5 spells. Gave one to a level 8 cleric and made his day. I gave the other 2 to Litefoot level 5 and he danced with me... It was worth smelling like skunk, to make 2 fellow Dwarves so happy ) .

This is a quest that improves faction without lowering it anywhere. That is worth all the gold the glands are worth.

I am a Worrior, at level 6 I did this quest and got a level 5 spell. I gave it to a level 4 cleric. Every time he sees me I get buffed and healed. It is a great way to make friends. I think the spells you get are related to your level.

not that i am but if i were to do this quest at lvl 19 i would get a lvl 19 spell. i think that is has nothing to do with the lvl ur at unless there is a limit that u can do this quest because it would be a way for a lvl 59 cleric to save so much plat

I did this quest twice and was able to get stun and furor for free. As a 5th level dwarf cleric that was not twinked, every bit of money saved helps! The two spells would have cost over 1 pp. The little bit of xp also helped.

The glands sell for for 4gp about...so in the long run you just wasted your money...the only good things about it is the faction and xp you get.

Actually, I got about a bubble of exp at level three from this quest, which is not bad at all. As to what spells, I've gotten cure poison and fear, I believe.

If you're a newbie cleric looking at this quest as a way to get a free spell, DON'T. This quest requires 4 skunk scent glands. Each gland can be sold at a vender for a gold and change. (varies depending on faction and charisma, I know) In the times I did this quest before I WROTE IT OFF, the spells I got from it (level 1) all would have costed me at a vender gold and change. Here's the math: 4 items worth a gold plus change each for 1 spell worth the same. Since I could get 1gp5sp for a skunk gland, everytime I did that quest I lost a little over 4gp doing that quest. So if you're a new cleric looking for a way out of some expensive spells, don't. You'll probably already have bought the spell you would get from the quest anyway. With the cash you save (6 gold for the 4 glands) you could buy another level 5 spell instead. Just sell the glands. I actually DO recommend you go out of your way to kill skunks for them, they're great newbie loot. But only do this quest if you want the faction, there is NO other reason that you should.
