These boots do nothing for you that a pair of small leather boots don't do. The only worthy part of the small scarab armor is the bp.

how much ac do the boots give? I have already screwed up this quest twice and dont really feel like forking over another 17 gold and hard to get items unless its actually worth it.

I just wanna know when you equip the boots do they show up as green leather or green chainmail or green fineplate?
Also a lot of miss-use of the posting board. If your posting about the helm, go under the darn HELM post. it will help others more that way. And if its about the breast plate, post there. Otherwise you kind of kill the idea of a posting board.....
On a side note. If you get a scarab shell. of the little worker scarabs THAT is the one you use for the helmet. I only mention that because your bound to get a few trying to get the feet.

not to be mean, but your an idiot. Why would you come back, to give him 10gp? Have you done many quests? I havn't, but I can follow direction. im just mad because post like yours keep new people from getting their gear. DO NOT STACK, GP are GP and PP are PP. Imagine this. the game has a CHECKLIST, it need EXACTLY what is listed. Sometimes stacking makes it buggy. Also GOLD is GOLD. its looking for a set amount in the GOLD slot, if you understand very basic way programing works, its a set value in a set location. And he doesnt remember who you are, we will just thank you for giving him money. oops huh?

None of them do. If they did, why does multi-questing work. Do you even know what multi-questing is? All the NPC cares about is a sequence of items given to them. When the last item is turned in, the giver of the last item gets the reward. Simple. I have multiquested items before where I completely logged characters out of the game to turn in the remaining items with other characters. Voila! I have my quest items.

Sometimes we learn from others mistakes, not by being sheep and following the same path to the slaughterhouse as the other sheep. This is a mistake.
The allowable classes on this item should NOT include Shadowknight or Monk, since the small races cannot play these classes.
If these items were not able to be resized, then the extra classes would not be included.
This item needs a cleanup.

Reading over the past posts, I'm ashamed of how the information is misread, misinterpretated, or just plain skipped. Here are the facts:
Only Dwarves, Halflings, and Gnomes can wear these boots. Same goes for the armor and the helmet as well.
The boots require exactly as stated above; Cracked Giant Scarab Carapace, 2 Scarab Legs (from the smaller worker scarabs by the Kaladim entrance), and 17 gold. Not 1 platinum and 7 gold. Don't stack any of these items, no matter what you hear. It may work, but don't take that chance, since almost every quest in the game requires you not to stack your items.
The items are given to Vacto Molunel, he's in the warrior's guild, the first guy you see. If you're confused, turn left when you enter Kaladim, keep going straight until you can no longer do so, turn left again and turn right at the first chance you get. There should be a small pool of water in front of you. If you look up the stairs, Vacto should be standing there.

Got the helm and breastplate, but Vecto will not talk about the boots. He doesn't mention them when talking about the helm and bp, and I have tried to get him to say something about boots. Anybody got a clue about these boots?...don't want to throw my stuff and gp away to him for nothing.
OK I got one pair went to get another for a friend, gave Carapace, 2legs, 1pp and 7gp, no boots. Just FYI. You can just give him cracked carapace, 2 legs stacked is ok. and 17 gp, not 1p 7g. By the way it also looks like you have to give it all at once, I went back and gave him 10gp and still no boots.

I did this quest today along with the boots. I misread what Vacto told me about "only the small races" can wear this armor, so I had a helm and boots I could not wear (I am a Wood Elf). There was no one around to give them too, so I sold them for a profit to a vendor. I paid Vacto 5 gold for the helm and 17 gold for the boots for a total of 2pp 2gp. Here is what I sold them for on Solusek Ro to a merchant in South Kaladim:
Alanury Stormhammer tells you, 'I'll give you 7 gold 9 silver 9 copper for the Small Scarab Helm.'
Alanury Stormhammer tells you, 'I'll give you 2 platinum 3 gold 9 silver 8 copper for the Small Scarab Boots.'
Not exactly a huge profit, but near enough to one plat for me ( 9gp, 9sp, 7cp) to try it again if I have a cracked giant scarab carapice, some legs and the two small carapices in my backpack.

My Dwarf Pally must have killed over 100 giant scarabs and recieved zero Pristine Giant Caraprices, but then a few weeks ago Gnome Wiz got 2 in a few minutes, played my Pally again and he got one, just after he purchashed one from an NPC.....but then no more with an additional 30 scarabs....so the drop rate has increased (unless you already have some) or adjusted to level or its real real streakey.
(East Commons and Misty Thicket even better places to hunt giant scarabs than BB. All three will drop PGSC.)
Makes you wonder where the rest of the green scarab set is...some guy told me there are scarab bracers(shoulders?), but you have to kill a guy from some bar in a nasty town to get them. (Sounds like work for an SK) Maybe Victor isn't telling us everything.

I did the quests for the CP & the Boots as stated today. The pristine carapaces were not difficult at all to get, <received 3 out of 21 scarabs> and retrieved 5 cracked scarab carapaces, the problem came in attempting to get the Scarab Legs! Out of the 21 I took out today, I only received 1 leg. Also, I put out an /ooc in an attempt to get one from someone in NRO and Oasis with only 1 person haveing 1. I purchased it for 1pp. The strangeness of it all is when I took the said mentioned items to Vacto, I received a "Scarab Helm" instead of Boots! /shrug So my lvl 5 DWF Cleric now has the Helm & Breastplate but no boots. :p
