You say, 'Hail, Cassius Messus' Cassius Messus says 'Hail! What do think of [Lisera]? She aint' much to look at, but soon she will be singing again.' You say, 'Who is Lisera?' Cassius Messus says 'Lisera is my lute. She sounds horrible. I need to get her tuned by a master tuner, but the League's Master Tuner is in the Plains of Karana for a while. If only... hey! You look like a fellow bard... You [interested in the job]?' You say, 'I am interested in the job.' Cassius Messus says 'Great! Here. Take Lisera to Vhalen Nostrolo. He is in the plains near the well, composing. He must tune it for me. Be very careful! Lisera is all I've got. If you complete this task and return with good news, I shall be glad to pass along an extra songsheet for a tune entitled 'Hymn of Restoration.'' You receive Lisera Lute. Head to South Karana and find Vhalen Hostrolo at -39, -121. Give him the lute. Vhalen Nostrolo says 'Oh, dear! I forgot to repair Cassius' lute. I shall fix and return it to him myself. Thank you for bringing this to me. Here, please return this note to Cassius. He shall be most happy. Thank you again, good citizen!' Not only do you get your song scroll, but I also got 1 pp, and some gold! Excellent quest for money for level 5 bard.

I also did this quest at level 5, since with Selo's and my little drum I could run fairly quickly through Western Karana along the water's edge and then keep to the water's edge in North Karana until the bridge to South Karana. South Karana is safe enough, and if Vhalen Nostrolo isn't camped (he sometimes is- I hate bard-killers...) then you can get the note for Cassius very quickly and complete the quest for your level 6 song, which, as Rezn states, results in a very nice savings.

This is a somewhat simple quest, and it allows a new bard to get out into the world and explore a little if he/she began in Qeynos. Its best to do this quest once you're level 5, since whenever I did it I always recieved the level 6 song scroll, Hymn of Restoriation, which saved me about 3.5pp, a somewhat large sum for a young bard.
