Astaed Wemor may be found in the Temple of Life at -175, -472. Requires at least amiable faction with the Priests of Life.
You say ‘Hail, Astaed Wemor’ Astaed Wemor says 'Greetings. I am Astaed Wemor of the Paladins of the Temple of Life. We are the defenders of the all-giving Prime Healer. Are you [here to pray] or are you [here to assist the temple]?' You say ‘I am here to assist the temple.’ Astaed Wemor says 'Good. There are a few in the congregation who require assistance. Will you be [traveling afar] or are you [staying close to Qeynos]?' You say ‘I will be staying close to Qeynos.’ Astaed Wemor says 'Then you can help with one of our distraught members. The priests have noticed that Nerissa Clothspinner has been a little down lately. Go console her and ask her how she is doing. She is a sweet girl and the temple is worried about her.' Find Nerissa Clothspinner. She is listed in the Find Window under armor and is commonly found either across from Ironforge’s Estate at -11, -5 or in Crows Pub & Casino at 83, 347. She stays in each spot approximately 10 minutes. If she is not at either of these locations, she has gone for a walk out the front gate to 1162, 87. She then returns to Ironforge’s. You say ‘Hail, Nerissa Clothspinner’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'Good day to you! Be careful in the city of Qeynos. [Rumors] of corruption may be true. Believe me. I wish my [sister] were here to help.' You say ‘What rumors?’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'I have heard that a few of the Qeynos merchants and guards are not very happy with the current state of the city. Taxes are too high and many of the guards have been sent to the outlands, leaving Qeynos vulnerable to attack. I do not feel the same way, but I fear these few may become many. I [fear for my life].' You say ‘Why do you fear for your life?’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'During a late night stroll by the pond in north Qeynos, I spied a guard carrying a very large carpet on his shoulders. As he approached the pond's edge and unrolled the carpet, the body of another guard rolled out and began to moan. The first guard grabbed for a long spear-like weapon from his back. He drove the weapon into the man and pushed him into the pond. I screamed! He turned to me and I ran. I do not think he gave chase. Too bad, he would not like to run into my [guardian] at home. I told my guardian and we both went to the pond and saw no body. He believes I was drinking too much wine. I do not drink. Now I fear for my life when I am in the streets of Qeynos.' You say ‘Who is your guardian?’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'When my big sister left Qeynos for adventure, she left me in the hands of her old time friend, Kane Bayle. Yes, the commander of the Qeynos Guards is my guardian. You would think I would be safe. Every time I tell him the rumors I hear, he just ignores me. He is too busy, I guess.' You say ‘Where is your sister?’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'My sister is in the Karanas. She is a warrior. Her name is Milea. I really need her. Would you please deliver a note to her? You look able-bodied enough for the job.' You say ‘I will deliver the note.’ Nerissa Clothspinner says 'Here you go then, brave adventurer. Godspeed to you.' You receive a Tattered Note, which identifies as "Note To Milea." It reads: Dear Milea , Please hurry back to Qeynos . I have seen things which lead me to believe the Qeynos guards themselves are planning a revolt . I now fear for my life . Please hurry back home . Your sister , Neriss Milea Clothspinner is located at -1800, -6073 in East Karana. She is in the tunnel between the upper and lower parts of the ravine between Karana and High Pass. Give Tattered Note to Milea Clothspinner. Milea Clothspinner says 'My sister is in danger. She is all the family I have left. I shall be on my way soon. Please take her my handkerchief, so she knows you have contacted me. Thank you. I am thankful Nerissa ran into you. I just wonder why she did not tell Kane about her suspicions.' You receive a Monogrammed Cloth from Milea Clothspinner. Your faction standing with Steel Warriors has been adjusted by 10. Your faction standing with Guards of Qeynos has been adjusted by 2. When I delivered the said message to the Temple of Life, I was told to deliver another message to Brother Hayle in Split Paw lair. I have not done this yet, but will post news of what happens as soon as I've done so.

have you delivered the note to brother hayle yet? i've been wanting to...but the gnolls in there are very strong..and the casters can see invis...just want to know if its worth doing

The guard coned even to me at level 20. I lost a level on him. Even with clothspinners help. Bad luck I guess. I do wander what his level range is though.

This quest is like the Mail runs: if you're going that way, go ahead and do the quest, at least you'll get SOMETHING for the trip! Of course, returning the veil involves running BACK to Qeynos; if you plan, you can take the Note to Milea, run mailbag up to HH; get the mailbag for Qeynos and run the bag and veil back to Qeynos.
Question for Oribi: what's your faction with the Temple of Life? I'd like to kill the guard (I'm REALLY tired of having to watch Milea die), and I'm warmly with the Temple.

Well, I was level 8 the first time I did this quest. So I had to sneak the whole way across the Karanas without getting near any monster at all !!! All that trouble and the time took me 30 minutes with zoning. Thankfully someone cast SoW on me to cut the time down to that 30 minutes. All I got was a crummy little sliver of exp that was barely visible. Quest isn't worth doing.

At level 19 this quest become very lucrative for a druid.

What lvl is the guard that kills Milea?
The corrupt guard that comes to kill the cloth spinner sister when you hand her the letter is level 20 every time. I have done this quest several times. Every time I go through East Karana I carry the letter with me just to give to her. He hits hard though for his level at around 68 points of damage. Did not let him hit me often enough to see if he hits harder than that since I was a level 20 enchanter soloing him on the progressive server.

The guard /conned blue to me (I'm 26th). I killed him pretty easily, and the Clothspinner sister lived. I'm a Erudite Mage, and the Clothspinner sister was apprehensive (or perhaps worse). When I hailed her she basically told me to bug off. When I gave her the letter, she gave me the veil. After I killed the guard, her disposition did not change, and she still told me to bug off. I spent all my low levels in the Qeynos area killing Gnolls and turning in their teeth, so my Qeynos faction should be fine. I don't know why she didn't like me. Perhaps she only responds to warriors/paladins?

Because she is a faction of a warrior calss that is odd, she don't like anyone. But how she feels about you is not as importand as the quest itself.

If you listen to nerrisa she tells you her sister is a warrior, therefor she's on the steel warriors faction, thats why your apprihensive.. steel warrior faction is VERY hard to get, myself i have a quest item i must turn in but i cannot because of bad faction, i would like to know if anyone has killed this gaurd and if so does it give extra good faction? thanks

I am a 20th Season Erudite Enchanter. Guard conned white to me. After making a good pet and buffing myself to the hilt, I took him on. He resisted my first 2 attempts to mez him (and I have no trouble mezzing yellow crocs in Oasis) so I couldn't debuff him. He snuffed my pet and then began beating on me at about 50 hp per attack with 2 or 3 attacks per round.
Needless to say, I did not survive the encounter.
Be advised, his magic resistence seems to be high.

Update by Erudite Enchanter. Tried it again now that I am 24th level. Buffed myself and pet to the hilt and buffed Clothespinner as well with Alacrity and Berserker Strength.
Guard came. After what happened the last time, I didn't even try to mez him. Rooted instead. But ge resisted Root 4 times in a row!!!
However, my DOTs and DD's hit without any trouble whatsoever. He snuffed my pet but with me nuking him and a berserk Clothespinner beating on him, he went down.
But I guess Clothespinner did more damage than I did, because I got no exp, even though my DOT delivered the coup de grace. Corpse just disappeared. No loot. No faction adjustments.
I talked to Clothespinner (yes my faction is good enough for her to talk to me) and she didn't thank me for aiding her or even seen to remember that she had just been fighting for her life.
A watching Ogre then proceeding to dispatch her. Nothing on the corpse but a cheap sword and that same embroidered thing she hands out in return for the note.
