The Escaped Catman

This is the quest for the Hero Bracers. You must do the first part at least once. It is possible that once you have done the first part, you can just get the shackles each time you do the quest. You also need to do the Steel Warrior initiation quest before doing this. You probably need a high faction with the steel warriors to complete the quest. Here are the details:
[1] Go to the basement of the arena in South Qeynos and talk to Grahan Rothgar. He will ask you if '...you have a report of the [escaped catman].' Ask him What escaped catman. He will give you the story and ask if you want to '...[retrieve key seven].' You can continue the quest anyway, but you will get nothing for it; no faction, no xp, no item, no nothing. [2] Grahan will tell you to go to Wisp Isle (in Erud's Crossing) and kill the catman named Nomala. Yes, there is a catman named 'Monola' but that is the wrong catman. The correct catman is named 'Nomala'. He is not as high level as any of the other cats but tends to gather a mob. Best strategy to kill him is in Step 3. [3] Go to Wisp Isle (the only one in Erud's Crossing). Nomala will spawn by the fire. Once killed, he will not spawn again for another hour or two, so figure on taking a while to do this. Be warned that you lose faction with Prexus for killing these catmen. Anyway, he will stand there for a bit, then walk off toward the shore down by the dock. Milla is standing around close by, but if you wait about one minute, she will walk off and leave Nomala all alone. Kill him - but don't let him run, kill him quick. Best bet is to hit him once then run a few feet down shore away from their village. He does not always have the key. [4] Return the key to Grahan and you get xp, faction, an item (along the lines of a bronze short sword), and a second quest. (faction results: +Steel Warriors, +Guards of Qeynos, -Corrupt Qeynos Guards, -Freeport Militia, +Knights of Truth). [5] The 2nd Quest: He wants you to go hunt down '...a [second escaped gladiator]' Fine, sounds easy... nope. He wants you to return the shackles of the Minotaur Hero of the Steamfont Mountains. [6] Go get em and bring em back. The hero's placeholder is the minotaur slaver in the front of the minotaur cave. When he dies, there is a chance that the Hero will spawn on the other side of the valley. Minotaur Hero + Shackles = Hero Bracers. Need all dialogues, current faction hits, /loc of quest mobs, actual quest prerequisites, rewards. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

try doing the gnoll teeth quest. I am pretty sure I am amiable to the guild leader now and I started as a FP monk.

What now i have given so much milk that his eye's were white but i only get faction increase with knightsoftruth. I don't get steel warriors. What now I am warmly to mojax but dubious to guild leader in qeynos. I have already killed the hero but cannot turn in the shakle. SO i need more ideas how to up my steel warrior faction. Any ideas please

The only way i can think of to get faction with steel warriors is turn in deathfist belts to the warrior guild leader in freeport

Grahan is *NOT* steel warrior faction. I am warmly admired to them, but I am KOS to him.
What do I do? He is red to me at 49.

Well, these are definatly awesome bracers, but, why cant small races use em? Is there a quest to redus the sixe or somethin?

Hehe well the milk thing is the best way to do it. Afidman, if the newbie note weren't NO DROP I'm sure that would be a great idea too. Just a note for fellow druids: DO THIS QUEST. I spent a whole weekend doing this quest over and over, and I made over 100kpp. Not so bad, if you ask me. Just Bind in Q War guild, and Ring to SF and kill the hero. Piece of cake.

Sorry to say Afidman but the note for the beginners warriors is no drop, so the best way to do this is the milky way :)

Posted: Jul 16 2000 at 12:54 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Heres a tip, create a warrior charicter in qeynos, and drop your guild not on the ground, come back with your realy charicter and pick up the note. return it to the guildmaster for great faction with the steel warriors. Also I would check to see if theres a GM watching since this is sort of cheating and im sure they wouldn't appriciate that.

Legulas....*sigh* you turn in 4 at a time NOT stacked...it is physically impossible to put 300 in there even stacked unless you use a backpack. If you do 4 stack sof 20 he still counts it as4....u give him 4 unstacked then you do it over and over til your Amiable....unless you wanna shoot for warmly milk isnt expensive....like 6cp for me and im not the sexiest man alive =)

Actually you can turn in 4 stacks of 4. I did this lastnight and it works. I tried more but you only get up to 4 per slot so you can get 16 hits on each trade.

for best results turn in over 300 milk. you have to con amiable to get this quest

for the best steel warriors faction hit i found, turn in milk to mojax in west commons. the faction hit is +steelwarriors +knightsoftruth +priestsofmarr -dismalrage -freeportmilita.
only bad side effect of this one is it WILL make you KOS to fport guards. but hey, a'll they're good for is killing anyway. for best
note on mojax - after a few min he'll stand up and walk away. he'll respawn in 5-10 min and you can continue feeding him the milk.

phaldo makes perfect sence. ring of steamfont is a druid or wizzy spell that ports you to steamfont..thus since they want to get there fast you can port from the quest spot... and at 10pp a head thats a lot f money =)

I got the shackles in my lvl 33 ranger woodelf but i don't have enough faction to do the intiation quest...anyone have any ideas on how to gain some faction with the steel warriors???

Bind next to Grahan, then use Ring of Steamfont. Make 2000p in 10 minutes.
