This shared task (1-6 players) begins with Il`Rator of Anriella in the Pillars of Alra, located outside the southwestern pillar (-345, 610, 435).. Pre-requisites for requesting the task: - Completion of "The First Pilgrimage" - 81 Skill Level in Alaran You say, 'Hail, Il`Rator of Anriella' Il`Rator of Anriella speaks past you, but gives you a friendly nod to acknowledge your presence, 'Friends, allies, the true and loving faithful return! Who among you comes forth with a [question]? The cold and lifeless aura of the heretics can be troubling! I bid you all to seek the loving LIFE that Alra offers!' You say, 'A question?' Il`Rator of Anriella says, in Alaran, 'Blessed are we, the faithful, in our journey to spread the life and the word of the great one! I look to you [willing disciples] to bring new life into our world today! Who among you will heed the calling? I promise you answers in your journey!'' You say, 'Willing disciples?' Il`Rator of Anriella points towards you with an ecstatic smile, 'A familiar face returning to...' It stops, remembering who you are. It beckons you closer and speaks softly, 'You there, yes _____. Do not think I have forgotten the lessons you have come to learn from our order. I have a small matter that needs attending to... Complete this [errand] and I shall tell you more of my people's origin!' You say, 'What errand?' Il`Rator of Anriella says, in Alaran, 'A simple task, one I have the utmost faith in your ability to complete. In the cold-lifeless depths of Melretia's Pillar is the source of alis sinister power. The corrupted ones feed on the lifelessness of their surroundings. I ask only that you bring life into those cold halls, whatever bloodshed this may entail will be forgiven by Alra, you have my word!'' You have been assigned the task 'The Word of Anriella'. Il`Rator wishes for you to spread life to the cold halls in the Pillar of the Arcane. Travel to the lower levels and stand in the pool of Arcane Mana. Your spirit will be enough to disrupt its lifeless aura. NOTE: While doing this task, you will have a spell on you called "Verdaphobia", which makes you kill-on-sight to mobs in the the Pillar of the Arcane. Bring life to the Pool of Arcane Mana 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) Deal with the arcane interceptors 0/10 (Pillers of Alra) Task Window Says: Several interceptors have arrived to remove you from the mana pool, stop them as they arrive! Stand in the mana pool at the bottom of the Arcane Pillar to spawn an arcane interceptor. Once you've killed 10 spawns, these steps update. Seek the remains of the latest fallen Natureward 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) Task Window Says: In the lower purification halls, there is the body of a natureward veteran. It was just recently captured and killed and is pending extraction. Find their body and find out why it attempts to enter the Pillar of Nature... In the third floor of the Pillar of the Arcane, you'll find several corpses of Nature Alarans. Right-click one: You will not have much luck inspecting the fallen with the torturers guarding the room... Take care of them first! Clear the area of mobs and then right-click a corpse. Upon doing so, you'll receive "Unyielding Essence of Life". Sabotage the Arcane Infuser 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) Task Window Says: It appears the fallen natureward was attempting to disrupt the ability of the arcanists to purify their mana. Finish what Il`Rator's ally has set out to do! Place the "Unyielding Essence of Life" in the Arcane Infuser located on the same floor (400, -840, 670) and hit combine. This spawns a named: Arcane Guardian Solandrielagral, who goes aggro. Arcane Guardian Solandrielagral glares at you contemptibly, 'Let us see if your god deems you worthy of an afterlife!' Defend yourself against the Arcane Guardian 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) Task Window Says: Disrupting the infuser will be impossible with the elder guard attacking you. Dispatch them before trying again! (Optional) Withstand the torture of the Arcane Guardian 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) Task Window Says: Though the proliferation of life will inevitably entail bloodshed from time to time, Il`Rator is curious if you could sustain the life of the Arcane Guardian long enough for it to see the error of its ways. If it has not learned before it has unleashed its devastating attack three times, then it likely never will. Arcane Guardian Solandrielagral hits for a max ~14,000; AE rampages; and feign-deaths your party. If you want the optional portion of this update, you need to let his AE hit you three times (it's possible this could take some time). Once he's dead, sabotage the infuser (place the essence inside and hit combine to create "Disrupted Mana"). As the natural essence is placed in the arcane infuser there is an ominous silence... A moment passes before the room begins to shake violently! You get the feeling you shouldn't stick around this place much longer. The room shakes and several mobs attack. You don't need to kill them. Report your success to Il`Rator 0/1 (Pillars of Alra) You say, 'Hail, Il`Rator of Anriella' Il`Rator of Anriella begins to recite what you can only imagine is a written work somewhere in its pillar, 'The Origin, Our Land, III of IX... What is knowable about our history is that we were set-upon by the scaled ones. The wurms of land and air sought dominance over all the lands, so my people took refuge. Our great and loving sustainer rose to prominence in this age. Al gave alis life so that we may grow and live upon this land... Your faction standing with Living Will of Alra got better. Your faction standing with Arcanists of Alra got worse. The sound of rushing wind seems to echo from atop Alra's shrine. To clarify how the Arcane Infuser is used, it's like a blacksmithing forge which you click on to open a 10-slot tradeskill container window. Then you place the Unyielding Essence of Life inside that container and hit combine. The first time you try the combine, it won't, instead Arcane Guardian Solandrielagral spawns. Once that mob's dead, the combine will work. The combine results in the item Disrupted Mana. After the mission is done, you can delete the Disrupted Mana item, it is worthless residue.
Took nearly 25 minutes for him to AOE 3 times this morning. Was pretty pissed. Can confirm you can't force the AoE by using combine of the green sphere. Any specifics on how his AOE actually works? Does he proc it?

I've been farming this task for a while now and the statement "The feign death during the Arcane Guardian fight comes from combining the essence in the infuser, not from the Guardian himself." is not true. I tried combining the essence in the infuser many many times for the FD effect during the fight because of that statement to no avail.
The Feign Dead aoe the Arcane Guardian casts is HP% triggered with a time component. You get the first FD when the Arcane Guardian is around 60% HP, the second around 45% HP, and the third around 30%HP. Do a slow burn with about 45 seconds between the HP levels. If you burn him down too quickly it won't update but if you miss the updates just keep him around 5% HP until you get the 3 FDs.
Once you have all 3 FDs, the Optional step (for the Fragment of Legendary Alaran History reward) updates, then you kill the Arcane Guardian. Once the update for killing the Arcane Guardian is completed you combine the essence in the infuser. This is the step that causes the infuser to FD you. The update also makes the room shake and auto aggroes several mobs on you. You use /stand and kill them or you can gate/evac/succor/etc and just do the final Hail

It seems RUNES have a factor in his aoe. I waited 10 mins without a single aoe and as soon as I removed my runes, instantly he aoed and fd'd me.
For the optional reward you simply need to let the guardian cast he AoE Feign Death 3 times and survive to recieve the update before dispatching him.
The feign death during the Arcane Guardian fight comes from combining the essence in the infuser, not from the Guardian himself.

You need to kill 10 arcane interceptors before you can bring the mana pool to life. once the 10 are dead than sit in the middle of the pool. they will spawn each time you enter the pool.

Il`Rator wishes to bring life to the coldness of the Arcane pillar and tells you to go sit in their pool to do so. Head over to the Arcane, go to the bottom floor, and clear some trash. When you enter the pool an arcane interceptor spawns and attacks, up to two at a time. It seems "an empowered guardian" also attacks. You will need to kill 10 of the intercepters. With those dead head up to the first level with the purification equipment (two up from ground floor). In a few of the rooms you'll find dead naturewards, untargetable, but when you right click one you'll get a message about guards keeping you from investigating. Clear that room and right click the corpse. You'll get a message about them fearing life and an "Unyielding Essence of Life". Put this in the Arcane Infuser and press combine. When you do so, an Arcane Guardian Solandrielagral spawns and attacks, hitting for over 20k and can knock you down every 45 seconds. Kill it, then do the combine, but be ready to evac. When you do the combine it shakes the pillar and it seems everything agros you! Get out fast.
You can earn the Optional reward by survive the knockdowns, I think. It is a clickable tablet that adds xp to your evolving Tear.
