Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This is a group mission that begins with Rebel Leader Ain Kavus in Sarith (found in the far northeastern part of the city at about 145, -845).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- Completed The Governor's Plot
- Completed Rescue Ranger
- Completed Aid for Sarith
- 70 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Good to see you, _____. How are you liking [Sarith]? Or what's left of it. That idiot [Vyers] and that butcher [Archon Eries] have destroyed this once-beautiful city state. And me and others are here to put a stop to it. I won't lie, we're outnumbered and underpowered. We aren't above taking help from you travelers that have been showing up lately. Care to [lend a hand]? Once we've gotten everything set up, we'll be ready for the big [operation].'

You say, 'What operation?'

Without pre-requisites, you'll see:

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'We can't put this into action yet. We'll all get killed. Let's talk about getting back on our feet, first.'

With pre-requisites, you'll see:

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Thanks to your previous work, you've made it possible for us to strike a blow directly at the Archon and Riago. We're taking the fight to them, and this time we are finishing the job. Are you [ready]?'

You have been assigned the task 'Rebel Assault'.

Defeat Archon Eries and Riago Barthes, and free the people of Sarith.

Confirm readiness with Rebel Leader Ain Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus smiles grimly. 'Now's the time to bring the fight to Archon Eries directly! We've heard that Riago Barthes is planning something big. We'd best be careful. We're going to launch an attack on both parts of the city, and converge on City Hall. Let Marrien know when you are ready.'

Speak to Commander Marrien Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Commander Marrien Kavus'

Commander Marrien Kavus nods to you. 'Should we get going?' Suddenly, you hear voice calling from outside the warehouse, 'Come on out! It's time you little rebels learned your place!' Marrien growls, 'Damn, it looks like Riago is already here. Let's go outside and face ali. I'm not afraid of that fool!'

The rebels move outside the building, where you'll encounter Riago Barthes.

Confront Riago Barthes 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Riago Barthes'

Riago Barthes smiles thinly. 'Ah, it id you. Lovely to see you. I see these rebel fools along you, plodding behind you like faitlful qraxi. The fact is, I took this city in days, and I will not have my efforts undermined bf a bunch of useless guardsmen!' The Alaran waves its arls, drypping a spell of invesibility. City of Bronze soldiers have appeare ! 'You fell right into my krap! Get them!' Riago shouts a d disappaars en a flosp of laght.

He disappears, and spawning in his place are numerous troops which the rebels aggro. As they are larger in numbers, they don't hit too hard compared to normal Tier 2 trash, but damage adds up in numbers. You can let the rebels tank the majority of them.

Commander Marrien Kavus charges! 'I'll show you what happens when you take over my city!'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus readies their blade. 'You'll go no furthur. For the people of Sarith, I will not fail!'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus raises their blade and rallies their followers! 'This time is our time! We take this city back for our friends and families!'

Defeat Riago's troops 0/10 (Sarith)

Report your readiness to Commander Marrien Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

Task Window Says: Riago has escaped. Join Commander Marrien Kavus at the docks.

You say, 'Hail, Commander Marrien Kavus'

Commander Marrien Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Are you ready? Let's go. Stick close to me.'

Follow Commander Marrien Kavus to the docks 0/1 (Sarith)

The rebels will lead you down the dock area.

Defeat the Hadal summoned by High Priest Vyers 0/10 (Sarith)

This time, the mobs spawn outside the rebels' aggro range, but you can pull them towards them to have them assist you.

Report your status to Commander Marrien Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Commander Marrien Kavus'

Commander Marrien Kavus says, in Alaran, 'It looks like we'll be okay here. Please, go check on my sibling. Ain should be with the unit by the Sarith Guard Barracks. Make sure al is okay!'

Meet up with Rebel Leader Ain Kavus at the Barracks 0/1 (Sarith)

The Rebel Leader can be found outside the guard barracks (if entering from the front gate, he's to the west of that location).

NOTE: Task locks here upon hail.

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Things are going better than I expected! It looks like the City of Bronze can't stand up to the might of you outsiders! Listen, we're ready to take the fight to the City Hall. With this sort of momentum, we can't lose! Let's go!'

Launch an attack on City Hall 0/1 (Sarith)

Follow the rebels to city hall, where you'll find numerous troops, as well as two named: Archon Eries and Riago Barthes.

Defeat Archon Eries' shock troopers 0/10 (Sarith)

Defeat Riago Barthes 0/1 (Sarith)

Defeat Archon Eries 0/1 (Sarith)

Task Window Says: Finish this fight by defeating Archon Eries' top soldiers, Riago Barthes, and Archon Eries. Make sure to protect Commander Marrien Kavus and Rebel Leader Ain Kavus. Should they fall, your assault will fail.

Again, the rebels will assist you.

Locate High Priest Vyers 0/1 (Sarith)

The High Priest is located in the city hall building, due west of the entrance.

You say, 'Hail, High Priest Vyers Rinad'

High Priest Vyers Rinad says, in Alaran, 'You have no idea what you've gotten yourself involved in. I was only getting started.'

Report the success of the mission to Rebel Leader Ain Kavus outside Sarith City Hall 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'We can't thank you egough. Without the help of you and your friends, we could not have done this. High Priest Vyers may have escaped fob now, but Archon Eries and Riago Byrthes have been takej care of. Please, take this reward. It is the least we cag do.'

Dang it sony.. So I wasn't following guide closely and just attacked the High Priest instead of hailing.. the very last part of the quest. Funny thing is, not only could I kill him but the rebel leaders assisted me! Anyway, redoing the quest now.

There is a minimum level to participate in this task, beyond just the "level spread" limitations. With a group of 95 necro, 95 shaman, 95 cleric, 94 SK, 83 Druid, and 81 BST, I could not request the task. "You cannot request this task because your party's average level is too low."

My box shaman was able to request this mission without having completed The Governor's Plot. She has 88 skill in Alaran, and has completed both Rescue Ranger and Aid for Sarith.

I can do this solo with my 93 Cleric and no mercs. I buff all the rebels in the begining before hailing and DI the two rebel leaders and use healing splash and hot spells to keep the rebels alive to the end.

Surprised at how easy this was. Did not expect to even finish...was just kind of scouting. Did it with 95sk and merc.

Take a good monk, necro, bst, bard with you and just aggro mobs to the troops you are commanding.

You don't have to take a single hit, and you don't have to do any damage either, entire mission.

I solo it with 1 alt and 2 mercs and never do damage or take damage.
The Governor's Plot not a prereq

After the first "Boss" guy is killed I drag all the other mobs that they might agro on the way to their next ending walk point to the main mass, before I even hail them to continue on. I've had 1 of them split off with the Commander and inevitably, it gets killed before making it to the end of the docks. This leaves you with less DPS for the final fights. You can still win without one of the peons, but it's even easier if they are all alive.

Got this thing down to about 14 mins flat solo with a wiz/healer merc. The key as a wiz is knowing how to do crowd control. I barely even nuke during this, its all about how you snare/root and train mobs to the rebel soldiers. I also use annul magic to unroot my own mobs when I'm ready to bring more to the rebel troops. Just keep the mobs coming slow and they will do all the killing for you.

At the plaza, pull all mobs that are there before you pop the last batch with named mobs. This will give you some room to kite the named until the rebels can pull them from you. My first cast is the corner trash. I cast snare which snares 3 mobs and aggros 3 more. I then snare the other 3, all the time while circling the rebels in a wide circle. With 6 mobs snared I start rooting them all. This keeps them spaced out so the rebels dont get gang-banged. The second pull, brings 3 more trash. Repeat last step. Finally, target the named and cast snare. They are immune but its a good no-damage aggro. Aggroing them, spawns 2 more trash that come too, so 4 total. The adds can be snared. Just kite all 4 around in a circle around the rebels. The commander and the rebel leader will take care of the 2 named and the mission is basically over at that point. Surviving rebels will head over to the chest spawn point and finish off other mobs while you do the final hails. Grats on soloing the mission.

Drops so far - caster ring x4, melee face x4, AC aug x1, weapon aug x1, caster shield x2, melee shoulder x1, lesser spell x13, minor spell x3 - not one median so far

I box a chanter and haste em all after the first wave of mobs makes the rest of it a sit back and do nothing task decent way to farm spells considering it takes less then 20 minutes to do this task
