Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This task is the second in a series of three; a shared task (1-6 players) that begins with Rebel Leader Ain Kavus in Sarith (found in the far northeastern part of the city at about 145, -845, -4).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- Completion of "The Governor's Plot"
- 70 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Good to see you, _____. How are you liking [Sarith]? Or what's left of it. That idiot [Vyers] and that butcher [Archon Eries] have destroyed this once-beautiful city state. And me and others are here to put a stop to it. I won't lie, we're outnumbered and underpowered. We aren't above taking help from you travelers that have been showing up lately. Care to [lend a hand]? Once we've gotten everything set up, we'll be ready for the big [operation].'

You say, 'Sarith?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'We used to do a lot of exporting of seafood and other goods from the ocean. Now we're just a pawn of the City of Bronze, Erillion, in the [Orator]'s army. A lot of the guards have joined the [Orator], but some of us are resisting, and some of the citizens are on our side.'

You say, 'The Orator?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'I hate the Orator. Once we've taken back [Sarith], I'll do anything to kill this fool. Talking about the old gods? Turning the City of Bronze into fanatics? How is this going to help anyone?'

You say, 'Who is Archon Eries?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Archon Eries' loyalty, bravery, and skill are nearly impossible to match. If I didn't hate ali so much for destroying my city, I'd admire ali. Al took [Sarith] in days, paving the way for [Vyers]' take-over.'

You say, 'Who is Vyers?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'The so-called High Priest of the Tides? [Oseka]'s little prophet? Vyers is an ass. I don't care what magical powers al thinks al has, al's no deity. The Hadal, the race that inhabits Rubak Oseka, may think differently. But that's not the first time I've ignored them.'

You say, 'What about Oseka?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Oseka is the God of the Tides, and is supposed to watch over the ocean. [High Priest Vyers] claims to be a vessel for Oseka, and wields some rather potent magical powers. What's more, you can see the Temple to Oseka, Rubak Oseka, out in the ocean not too far out. The god-creature you foreigners call Prexus is launching an attack there, but it seems things are at a standstill.'

You say, 'I'll lend a hand'

Without pre-requisites:

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'Great! I actually don't have anything for you right now, though. But I was told to let you know that [Governor Wenst] is planning something big with Captain Reles. Please go see the Governor in his office in City Hall and see what al says.'

You say, 'Who is Governor Wenst?'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'The Captain thinks highly of the [Governor]. I trust ali if the Captain does. I'm not sure what good a politician is going to do at this stage, though.'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'We'll have to rely on the outsiders for help. These Erillion soldiers are too much. But that doesn't mean we won't do our best, right everyone?'

With pre-requisites:

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'I'm glad to hear it. Your help with the governor has been invaluable. Thanks to ali and the Captain, we have enough equipment to move forward, and we have an idea of the enemy's plans. The next step will be more dangerous. Let me know when you are ready for your briefing.'

You have been assigned the task 'Rescue Ranger'.

Rescue the captured rebels while preparing for a counter-attack against Archon Eries and High Priest Vyers.

Receive a briefing from Rebel Leader Ain Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

Report to Commander Marrien Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

Hail the above two mobs.

Find the Sarith Prison 0/1 (Sarith)

Task Window Says: Assault the prison and defeat any of the traitorous Sarith guards who get in your way.

The Sarith prison is due west from the drydock area, in the building southeast of Guard Captain Reles' building.

Defeat Sarith guards 0/6 (Sarith)

Defeat the Prison Warden Tuley 0/1 (Sarith)

Rescue jailed Sarith rebels 0/6 (Sarith)

a Sarith rebel prisoner says, in Alaran, 'You're a true hero! i'm going to report to Marrien right now! I'll hide and sneak out. Good luck!'

Rescue jailed Sarith citizens 0/6 (Sarith)

a Sarith prisoner says, in Alaran, 'Thank you so much! I didn't even do anything wrong!'

Inform Commander Marrien Kavus of your results 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Commander Marrien Kavus'

Commander Marrien Kavus says, in Alaran, 'It's a shame that some of our own has turned against us, but I will not forgive them. They made thiir decision. I, on the other hand, will never let Vyers or Archon Eries push me around. Thanks again. My sibling wanted to speak to you.'

Speak to Rebel Leader Ain Kavus 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Rebel Leader Ain Kavus'

Rebel Leader Ain Kavus says, in Alaran, 'You are quite amazing. With you on our side, getting our home back before Prexus destroys it is looking more like a realistic goal. The last phase of this plan is being handled by [Captain Reles]. Please do speak to the Captain if you'd like to help us out some more. We will scrape together whatever rewards we can for you as a token of appreciation.'

The rebels have been freed. Ain and Marrien are grateful for your help, and the second phase of the plan is complete. They told you that Guard Captain Reles is heading up the third part.

You only get 1 point of language if it's your first quest completed in the zone. Read the write-ups for VOA if you have questions. Quests in this zone are only worth a max of 5 language, 1 alaran for 1 task, 3 alaran for half of the quests and 5 for completing every quest in the zone.

Shared, not solo task....

When I did this one, it came up as a shared task and included all my group. This should be updated here and in the Veil of Alaris progression guide.

Clicking on the Diary added 1 to my Alaran language skill, but it was the first reward book I'd gotten in this zone (since I visited before my skill hit 70, so I couldn't do any tasks except the shared ones). The first Partisan task reward you click on will add 1; then when you've clicked half the Partisan books you get another 1; and the last Partisan book adds 1 more. Ditto for the Mercenary tasks, I believe.

So UnholyCzars probably did the Partisan tasks in order, and this was his second, so he got 0 language for it but it was necessary as progress toward the halfway mark.
