This is a pre-launch task leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion, expected to be available only for a certain period of time ahead of VOA's launch.

It begins with a gnome named Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring in the Steamfont Mountains. He's found in the far southeastern part of the Steamfont Mountains.

You say, 'Hail, Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring'

Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'Hrmf. I'm a busy gnome. We've got a massive [project] under way here, and I really don't have time to spare.'

You say, 'What project?'

Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'You don't know about it? Well I don't have time to go into details. You should talk to Olim, he likes to chat. Then again, if you have that much spare time, maybe you could use it productively by [helping] out around here.'

You say, 'Helping, how?'

Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'We can always use hands doing the non-skilled stuff. I think you'll be useful doing some of those [tasks].'

You say, 'Tasks?'

Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'Nothing too difficult for you, I hope.'

A task window pops up with two tasks to choose from.

You have been assigned the task 'Gondola Hull - Caulking'.

The engineers require caulking to seal the gondola's hull. They will have to mix it on site as needed, but they could use your help gathering the resources they need. Gather up some of the Crystalline Silk Threads that can be found in Velketor's Labyrinth. It won't be an easy nor safe task, but that's why the engineers need you to do it. The plan is to mix the Crystalline Silk Threads with a special Mineral Rich Tar. Of course you'll need to get the tar...

Crystalline Silk Threads are dropped commonly from spiders in Velketor's Labyrinth.

Collect Mineral Rich Tar from mineral oozes 0/1 (Pellucid Grotto)

This is a random kill update as you kill mineral oozes in Pellucid Grotto.

Deliver 4 Crystalline Silk Thread to any wood engineer 0/4 (Steamfont Mountains)
