Bindral Argaff with the tag of (Legendary Enchanter Illusions) is located in Plane of Knowledge tower second floor down from the main floor on the northwest side at approximately 90, 1060, -60.
You say, 'Hail, Bindral Argaff'
Bindral Argaff looks up from the bookshelf and stares at you intently before speaking, 'Ah! Now here is one that may be of some use to me. Good day my friend, good day to you! I sense an obvious air of power from you, yes indeed! As you may have noticed, I am struck with a bit of a [curse], a bit of a hindrance in my continued studies. Perhaps a great illusionist such as you would be interested in [helping me out]?
You say, 'Curse?'
Bindral Argaff says 'Aye, as you may have noticed, I've fallen susceptible to a triviality that Yaeth spoke of in his earliest teachings...' The wizened Enchanter smiles and nods, imagining that you may not remember Yaeth's timeless teachings, or who Yaeth is... 'Ahhm well, simply to say my desire for novel and unique illusions has put me in the compromising position of being unable to control my body's form anymore. A grand illusionist such as you should easily be able to [help me out] though!''
You say, 'I will help you out.'
Bindral Argaff says 'Ah, grand news, grand news indeed! Here's what I propose, go out into the world and seek artifacts with novel illusionary characteristics. These artifacts must be infinitely divinable, so things such as potions or evaporating bits of arcana will have no use. The illusion they provide must be novel, no form you would expect to learn as part of your standard training. Now, once you have obtained one such artifact, bring it to me so that I may [study] its power.'
You say, 'Study?'
Bindral Argaff says 'Aye, study, obviously I have no use to take such an artifact from you, I would just like to inspect it for clues in curing my current condition. I shall make this endeavor worth your while however. Should you bring me a novel illusion-bearing item of infinite activation, I shall reward you with a scroll bearing its power. I can't guarantee that everything you bring me will translate into something you can cast innately, but there should be a wide variety of magics that I will be able to impart to you this way. Hopefully the key to curing my condition lies somewhere in one of these undiscovered artifacts!'
For items he doesn't recognize, you see: Bindral Argaff stares at the item curiously before looking back up at you, 'I am... not quite sure what to say about this item. It does not appear to be something I can give you any reward for. It may not contain an illusion novel enough to separate itself from things you could already learn to cast, or it may be an item of limited activations. Either way, it will not offer a possible cure to my condition, so it is of no use to me. I thank you anyway, _____.'
Non-enchanters see:
Bindral Argaff looks at the item and then back up at you, 'I thank you for your effort, but someone who is not a master of the illusionary arts will gain nothing from showing this to me. It would be unfair of me to seek to divine some cure from your artifacts with nothing to offer you in return, so please accept my apologies and keep your item for yourself.'
For items he does recognize (mostly Legends of Norrath illusion items or other special illusion effect clickies that aren't standard Enchanter illusion spells), if you are an enchanter you'll receive the item back as well as a "Spell: Illusion _____" which you can scribe into your spell book.
Bindral Argaff stares at the item intently before attempting to activate it... Despite a small shower of mana erupting from the item, nothing appears to have happened... 'Hmm, I suppose this too is another bit of false hope. I thank you for your effort _____, please take this scroll as a token of my appreciation. Should you come across another such artifact please return to let me study it. I know some day that we shall find the cure!'
