This is one of five tasks leading up to "The Staff Retreat" and the group progression mission for Morell's Castle, "Hippity Hoppity Kill".

It's a solo task that begins with Nollibene the Deckhand. He is a halfling found on the second level of the Shellscale water maze (just outside the whirlpool port to the ship).

The entrance to this area is found in the northeast part of the forest.

There are no pre-requisites for requesting this task.

You say, 'Hail, Nollibene the Deckhand'

Nollibene the Deckhand says 'Ohhh, everywhere I look... There is churning water everywhere! Friend, I am lost, and trying to get back to my ship! I am a deckhand aboard Gaitius Cloden's pirate ship, I fell into a whirlpool when the ship crashed ashore, and ended up here, wherever this is. We were tracking down a mysterious, captivating [sound] when the accident happened.'

    You say, 'What sound?'

Nollibene the Deckhand says 'What was it, music? A song? A pleasant-sounding noise? I am not sure, but I know Gaitius is probably fit to be tied if the ship has been wrecked. For myself, I am not feeling strong enough yet to return through the whirlpool. I don't think I'll make it back through again without drowning. Would you be willing to [assist] Gaitius in my stead?'

    You say, 'I'll assist you'

Nollibene the Deckhand says 'That would be very commendable of you. Gaitius may be just a human, but he's got a heart of gold and doesn't deserve to die wherever it is we've been stranded!'

You have been assigned the task 'Pirate's Blues'.

Go through the whirlpool, and board the pirate ship. Assist Gaitius Cloden in Nollibene's stead.

Locate the wrecked pirate ship 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Step into the whirlpool to port to the ship.

Find out if Gaitius Cloden is still aboard the vessel, and if he is willing to forgive Nollibene 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Gaitius Cloden is on the topside of the ship.

    You say, 'Hail, Gaitius Cloden'

Gaitius Cloden says 'I am Gaitius Cloden, captain of the Divine Light. I gather you have met some of my miserable crew. We were charting new ocean lanes when we were blown off course by a storm. Then we encountered a strange, lovely noise, soothing and melodic. We tried to investigate its source, but soon ran aground on this island. Many of the crew have gone missing, and the rest have become insolent and disobedient. I'll tell you more, but I need your help. I would have you track down at least three of the mutineers and bring me back their heads. I saw them last standing over by the ship's wheel, when it became enchanted by 'Sailors' Darkfire'. They then vanished, and I've not seen them since.'

Kill three mutinous scallywags 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Mutinous scallywags are found all around the beach of the sand castle area (click on the ship's wheel to port there).

Take the heads of three mutinous scallywags; Cloden will need to make sure they are really dead 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Loot three heads from the scallywags (not pre-lootable).

Bring the heads of the three mutinous scallywags to Gaitius Cloden 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

NOTE: If Gaitius Cloden is KOS when you try to interact with him, it may mean someone's failed a different task in which he's a kill target. In this case, try killing him and allowing him to respawn as a normal quest NPC.

Gaitius Cloden says 'Good. I am not a violent man, but I watched these villains push loyal members of my crew overboard into serpent-infested waters, laughing all the while. They won't be laughing any more now, will they? I hope the souls of my dead crew can rest easier now.'

Ask Gaitius Cloden about the location of the Adamantine Tube 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

    You say, 'Hail, Gaitius Cloden'

Gaitius Cloden says 'You're doing well. Bringing me back the heads of the mutineers has had a chilling effect on the rest of my crew. I am hoping that I will soon be able to coax them into joining me, so that we may repair the ship and escape from this place... Wherever this is. However, before I can think about putting together a skeleton crew, I need you to track down the siren that brought us here. She calls herself Maiana... I know she's around here somewhere, I just can't see her. I can hear her song from time to time. The sooner you deal with her, the sooner I can break the spell she's put over my crew. Kill her, and bring me back anything she might be carrying.'

Kill Maiana the Chanteuse 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Maiana the Chanteuse is a named siren found in the northeast part of the beach. Her respawn timer is around the same as regular mobs in the zone (15-18 minutes?). She hits for a max ~9,300.

    Take Maiana's Adamantine Tube 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Give the Adamantine Tube to Gaitius Cloden 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Gaitius Cloden says 'An adamantine tube, eh? No doubt a magical musical instrument of some sort. I'll keep this with me for now, until someone can think of a better use for it. In the meantime, I thank you for all you have done. If you see Nollibene, tell him I am most grateful that he sent you to help.'

Speak with Nollibene 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

You say, 'Hail, Nollibene the Deckhand'

Nollibene the Deckhand says 'Gaitius is alive and well? I am so glad! I was afraid when the crew began to get surly, that he might lose his life. I shall try to regain the strength to return to my ship through the whirlpool, help repair the ship, and be done with this strange, dreamlike place!'

You have done well by your new friend Nollibene, and provided aid to Gaitius Cloden, who will hopefully be more careful who he hires to be the crew on his next voyage, assuming he makes it home alive.

I tri-boxed this and found that the two toons who looted the heads could turn them in, but the one toon who had them handed to him by another toon that looted (not no-drop) was not able to turn them in, kept getting the heads returned. Killed three more mobs and did loot them this time, and hand in was successful. Make sure the toon handing in is the toon that loots.

I was attempting this task today, I got 3 heads and took them back to Gaitius. He is KOS, and gives the heads back to me saying he doesn't need them. I am at the right place in the task to turn in the heads, killing the mutinous scallywags doesn't raise any factions. Anyone have any idea's? I have petitioned this.
