This solo task is the second in a series of three. It begins with Alezra D`Vour in Fear Itself. She's found in a small tower a little ways east of the zone-in.

You must have completed the "Bite of the Beast" task before you can request this one.

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'There are many who come here, eager to join the ranks of Cazic's chosen, though not all are destined to become disciples of Fear. One must prove themselves loyal, resourceful, and remorseless if they wish to stand before our leader and be judged. You will have my recommendation, if you can withstand the [trials] I set before you.'

    You say, 'Trials?'

Alezra D`Vour says 'A handful of those who pledged themselves as servants of Thule, have now dissented and are cowering away somewhere in this realm. Your first test is one of loyalty. Pledging yourself to Cazic Thule is a commitment that extends well beyond death, and those who have dissented shall be disposed of by your hand.'

You have been assigned the task 'Follower of Fear'.

To prove yourself worthy, Alezra has asked you to complete a series of trials before joining the ranks of Cazic devotees.

Dispose of the dissenters who are cowering in fear around the realm.

Xoraik was last spotted near the gorge to the northwest. Lorenai has taken refuge in a fallen bell. Vendula was seen hiding beneath the western stone bridge.

Dispose of Xoraik 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Dispose of Lorenai 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Dispose of Vendula 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Xoraik is found in a ruined building in the very northwest part of the zone.

Lorenai is found under a fallen bell in the northeast part of the zone (head due east of the southernmost point of the ring of fire).

Vendula is just south of the ring of fire (on the ground, beside the north ramp leading up to the top of the frightfinger structure).

They are all straight-forward fights, difficulty on par with trash in the zone. They're immune to stun and mez.

Speak to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'The dissenters have been disposed of? I wish I could have seen the overwhelming fear in their eyes as they met their end. You have passed the trial of loyalty. Are you ready for your next [test]?'

You say, 'I'm ready for the next test'

Alezra D`Vour says 'Resourcefulness should never be underestimated. A devotee of Thule needs to be more than just a loyal strong-arm. We need well-rounded followers, who excel in tasks of a more... agreeable nature. To test your resourcefulness, I ask you to gather rare ingredients used in crafting a slow-killing poison.'

This opens up the next three steps:

Give the Clump of Diseased Flesh to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Give the Ruptured Tear Duct to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Give the Nightmare Blood to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Task Window Says: Alezra has asked you to find rare ingredients for a slow killing poison as a test of your resourcefulness; a clump of diseased flesh from a boogeyman, a ruptured tear duct from a glarelord, and nightmare blood.

These are an uncommon drop from boogeymen, glarelords, and nightmares (respectively). They are confirmed to drop from any mobs with "boogeyman", "glarelord" and "nightmare" in their names.

    They are pre-lootable.

Speak to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'To kill those who defy us simply isn't enough; we must inflict pain and suffering along with death. Your apt resourcefulness will allow us to craft many deadly poisons, which will do just that. Speak to me when you are ready to [prove] you are remorseless.'

    You say, 'I'll prove it...'

Alezra D`Vour says 'There are a few who have entered this realm with the intent of doing harm to Cazic Thule. These people thrive on honesty and morals. They are weak, and their trusting nature will be their undoing. Speak to them and convince them to drink the poison you have helped create.'

Poison trapped dreamers 0/2 (Fear Itself)

Task Window Says: To show you have no remorse, Alezra has asked you to convince trusting trapped dreamers to ingest deadly poison. They should be wandering within the first level of the large temple.

The trapped dreamers are found in the temple within the ring of fire. There are a few spawnpoints on the second floor down from the top. They're typically found in dead-ends.

The regular amygdalans don't see invisibility, so unless you run into a named, you'll be fine to run around it with invis.

NOTE: These trapped dreamers have a 20-minute respawn time.

You say, 'Hail, a trapped dreamer'

a trapped dreamer says 'You've come the [help] me, yes? I've been so terrified wandering this place alone. My only wish is to return to my wife and small children.'

You say, 'Yes, I've come to help you...'

a trapped dreamer says 'So this is all a dream? This potion will rouse me from my sleep? More of a nightmare I say, but I trust you stranger. I'll drink it as I am told.'

The trapped dreamer keels over and dies.

You say, 'Hail, a trapped dreamer'

a trapped dreamer says 'At last, a friendly face! I was beginning to think I'd die down here... Can you [help] me escape?'

You say, 'Yes... I can help you escape...'

a trapped dreamer says 'A gate potion you say? Are you sure it's safe? Oh, you seem trustworthy, and taking a risk is better than the alternative I suppose.'

You've gone and killed this one too.

Return to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'Well done, _____. I don't see a trace of guilt lingering on your face. Earning my recommendation to stand before our leader, Tiseth, is no easy feat. If you wish to join our ranks, I will aid you in completing the process.'

You have passed the trials put before you, and earned Alezra's recommendation to join the ranks of Cazic's devotees.

Drop rate is pretty bad on the blood, flesh and eye. Took about 75 boogeymen to get 2 of those items. Maybe 30 horses for the two blood and about 50 eyes for 2 of those.

Ruptured Tear Duct dropped from a glarelord on the south wall. I tried clearing the temple with the glarelords for hours with no result. This drop just takes time and is pretty rare drop. It mostlikely drops from any mob with Glarelord in its name.

Go to the main temple. Turn height filter on low of 5 and high of 10. Follow the blue lines. The entrance is the first one to the right as you go up the main ramp. (Lowest)

If you're doing the last part where you hail a trapper dreamer(s) on multiple characters, everyone in your group can hurry and say "help" to them before they keel over, and get credit for the quest.

The "small glarelords" are placeholders for "glarelords." -- You may have to kill the PH several times to get a glarelord to spawn, but they are placeholders.

I found a spot on the south eastern wall where two glare lords spawned right beside each other. There were other things in the area ... a toad and fiend that wandered in from a valley, wolves, a wraith, and a couple terrors ... the end result was a lot of killing (and a lot of xp) to get the ruptured tear duct.

All in all, other than the fact it took days (and glarelords slain by the dozens) to get the drop, i'm happy with the xp earned.

While pulling 3 alts through HoT, we discovered that the Small Glarelords also drop the ruptured tear ducts for this quest. 2 of the 3 alts got their tear ducts from the Small Glarelord mobs, the other alt from the regular "Glarelord."

While dragging three alts through HoT, we got to this quest and discovered that the Small Glarelords also drop the ruptured tear duct. 2 of my 3 alts got their tear duct from the small glarelords, and third from a regular glarelord. It did take 3 days of on-and-off camping, but we set up in that southeastern corner where the 2 spawned (thanks SKKali), and pulled 2 more from nearby areas using a combination of Harmonious Arrow / Blusterbolt (ranger) and Mez (enchanter).

All-in-all, it was still a long camp for the three items (times three toons). (Boogymen and Nightmares also spawn nearby, so we stayed virtually in one place and pulled what we needed).

It took four days of on-and-off camping to get the ruptured tear duct. Everything else was relatively easy.

Also, the hail did not work invised, so be sure to clear the area around the dreamer.

Took about 15 Boogeymen and the one that dropped was a lurker. Probably random considering I killed about even amount of each kind of boogeyman. So both probably drop the flesh. Rare though lol.

If your using the map from mapfiend, turn your height filter on and use the blue tunnels in the temple area.

    I found one at +795, +339, +120.

Hint, you can pop a mount and look through the walls from the outside, in.

And the other one is in a room in the center of that level, past a secret wall. No mobs in the room with that one.

This is mostly accurate. It seems that only boogeyman lurkers drop the necessary Clump of Diseasaed Flesh. Yes, it's pretty uncommon of a drop (1/25+?), but after hours of clearing the regular ones, it's fairly safe to say focus in on the lurkers only.

I just looted one from "a boogeyman". Would say any boogeyman type mob should suffice. Perhaps the level of rarity ranges though on their named, but nevertheless, they all drop this item.
