This solo task is the first in a series of three. It begins with Marza D`Vour in Fear Itself. She's on the ground, located a little ways north of the zone-in.

    You say, 'Hail, Marza D`Vour'

Marza D`Vour says 'I haven't much energy to speak, so please listen carefully. I have been bitten by a beast whose venom is both painful and slow, yet my fear is not for myself; it is for my daughter, Alezra. She's wandering within this horrifying dream world, lost and unaware of her deceitful surroundings. Please find her, and [help] her flee this nightmare.'

    You say, 'I'll help her'

Marza D`Vour says 'Please, do not let your concerns linger on me. It is only my daughter I worry about. Her safety is my dying wish. I'll cling to what little energy I have left as I await your return.'

You have been assigned the task 'Bite of the Beast'.

Marza's dying wish is to see her daughter freed from Cazic Thule's horrific dream, though it may prove to be a rather complicated task.

Speak to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Alezra D`Vour is found in a small tower a little ways east of the zone-in.

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'State your business, stranger. Are you a [follower] of Cazic Thule or are you here for some other [reason]?'

    You say, 'Another reason...'

Alezra D`Vour says 'Let me guess, my mother sent you. When will that wretched hag give up! If my [faith] wasn't being tested here, I'd hunt down that pathetic excuse for a woman and finish her off myself.'

    You say, 'Your faith?'

Alezra D`Vour says 'My unwavering devotion to the God of Fear himself, Cazic Thule, is always being tested. Those who prove to be worthy shall be welcomed in his powerful realm, and spared the horrific death that is an undeniable truth for those who choose to cower in fear, rather than embrace it.'

Return to Marza 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Marza D`Vour'

Marza D`Vour says 'My only daughter has become a mindless follower of Cazic Thule? My heart cannot bear to believe it! How can she not see through the deceptive haze? This wretched place is not home to the God of Fear, but rather a vivid representation of his subconscious. Only in Cazic's dreams would Alezra devote herself to a God who simply wishes to see her suffer. This dream needs to dissolve before it's too late, before I lose my daughter to Cazic's cruel hunger for death. Please, you must help. Gain the trust of Cazic's followers, so that you may meet the God of Fear and destroy him, along with this horrible dream that keeps my daughter entranced.'

Speak to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'And so you return, _____. Am I to assume this means you're ready to pledge yourself to Cazic Thule? Your devotion will be tested, be assured. Not just anyone is deemed worthy of Cazic's presence. I have a small task for you, to start with. It involves using a relatively simple device to tag wolves in the area. Once they're tagged, I'll be able to track them when they're needed for research...'

You receive a Wolf Tagging Device.

Tag wolves for tracking 0/2 (Fear Itself)

Wolves are found in the east-central part of the zone. You can do this step while invis. You have to target a wolf and right-click the tagging device. Do this for three wolves and return it to Alezra.

Return the tagging device to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Alezra D`Vour says 'You've returned unscathed? It appears you're more useful than I first thought. Now that the wolves are tagged, I can begin preparations for a subduing serum. I'll need you help gathering ingredients, but once the serum is made, I'll be able to administer it to the wolves you tagged. It's crucial that the wolves are subdued before I attempt to bring them back here for their... transformation.'

This opens up the next two steps:

Collect Docilla Leaves 0/4 (Fear Itself)

Loot Spinechiller Ichor 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Task Window Says: Gather the items Alezra needs to create a subduing serum. The docilla shrub grows best in pools of blood.

Docilla Leaves are a groundspawn in the blood rivers in the northeastern part of the zone. They appear as small plants growing in the blood.

The Ichor is a common drop off spinechiller spiders. It is not pre-lootable.

Give the Docilla Leaves to Alezra 0/4 (Fear Itself)

Give the Spinechiller Ichor to Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Speak with Alezra 0/1 (Fear Itself)

    You say, 'Hail, Alezra D`Vour'

Alezra D`Vour says 'You brought me perfect specimens? I'm intrigued. I wonder if you could handle one of my pets. I call them Beasts of Fear, and they are the result of crossing wolves with the blood of Fear. Yet in order for the transformation to be complete, the creature needs to feed on a few decaying corpses. I'm sure they will be plenty near the ruins.'

Allow the Beast of Fear to feast on decaying corpses 0/2 (Fear Itself)

Task Window Says: Use the leash Alezra gave you to summon a Beast of Fear, and allow it to feed on corpses scattered around the ruins.

There are various ruined strutures in the west-central part of the zone. You can find decaying corpses around this area. Right-click the Beast of Fear Leash to update this step (again, you can do this step while invis). Respawn time is 4 minutes.

Return to Alezra with the leash 0/1 (Fear Itself)

Alezra D`Vour says 'And so the transformation begins. Soon there will be packs of these beasts roaming Cazic's domain, instilling terror and fear into all those who trespass. You should hold your head high knowing that you had a pivotal role in making this happen.'

You've helped Alezra transform an ordinary wolf into a Beast of Fear, while earning trust with those who have devoted themselves to Cazic Thule.

went to the corpse at -225, +464 (my LOC was -235.47, 462.70) with 3 toons, all 3 could re-target the corpse, didn't have to find the other two, respawn time for the corpse was 4 minutes. Didn't get aggro from anything, was pretty safe there. Had invis and IVU
2 Wolves 3 Beasts of Fear

I just completed the task, and I only had to tag 2 wolves, but I did need 3 decaying corpses to summon 3 beasts of fear.

The first corpse is marked on the map. The remaining two were nearby at other ruins that look very similar. The problem with running out there is that there are a lot of mobs that see invis, so be careful.

This was not a hard task, but having a tracker for the wolves was very helpful.

I did NOT find the wolves in the "east central" area of zone. They were around the building/hill/pyramid (NOT the ring o fire pyramid) that is the furthest east and south. If you look on map you can see 3 largish buildings that make a "L" shape if you connect them with a line. I found one on the SouthWest corner of the hill and one south of the hill, sittin near rocks.

I assume that all of this task, except the part you have to kill the spiders for the ichor, is soloable?

You are only required to tag 2 wolves, not 3.

Indeed, you need 3 of these, and I could only find two. One was at -150, +324, another at -225, +464. Since the Beast eats the corpse, I had to wait for repops. I'm glad I did this step while soloing!

Ah, never mind, found the third while running back for final turn-in. So there are indeed (at least) three. The third was at -542, +693.

I was doing this today and it wouldn't let me target respawns of the decaying corpses for updates. You have to find all three. The locs Sukrasisx listed are correct: -150, +324, another at -225, +464, and another at -542, +693.
