This is a solo kill task that begins with Exterminator Cedrin in Erudin Burning. He is located at -400, 330 (in the same area as the General and the Spirit of Erud -- the area south of the dock).
You say, 'Hail, Exterminator Cedrin' Exterminator Cedrin says 'Rats, rats, [rats]... Never before recently did we have such a problem with the filthy pests.' You say, 'Where did all these rats come from?' Exterminator Cedrin says 'The heretics brought them our way, only to have it intensified by the rate of our fallen brethren filling our streets and our docks. We simply cannot cleanse the area fast enough. Nor can I [dispose] of the rodents on my own.' You say, 'Dispose of them?' Exterminator Cedrin says 'I had been tasked with helping the cleansing of our area as our more able bodied knights fight the frontlines. It was hoped that in disposing of the rodents and helping give our brethren a proper burial that the pestilence would fall back from us. The task is too much for this old man to bear. If it's not too much trouble, would you be able to [assist]?' You say, 'I will of course assist you' Exterminator Cedrin says 'A handful of rats is all I ask, and proof of such in the form of intact tails. I promise that I will give credit where credit is due when you return. May Prexus' cleansing waters wash away the disease that surrounds us.' You have been assigned the task 'Extermination'. Erudin's docks have become overrun with an infestation of rats with the arrival of the Heretics and the rampant death and disease that covers the once glorified city. Exterminator Cedrin has requested your assistance with this task of cleaning the area of the pests, as well as proof of your deed. Exterminate a number of dock rats 0/8 (Erudin Burning) Take a few intact Dock Rat Tails from the rat corpses 0/2 (Erudin Burning) Return the proof to Exterminator Cedrin 0/2 (Erudin Burning) Exterminator Cedrin gives a nod as he gathers the tails received and burn them with a swift incantation, reducing them to dust. If you are doing this quest for multiple people expect it to take a while, the tails seem to drop about 1 in 7 kills.
