    You say, 'Hail, Phin Esrinap'

Phin Esrinap says 'Hello, my name is Phin. Practice, practice, practice.. that's my motto. It is my responsibility to train our members, and help them to advance their skills and abilities. I also reward our members with colored [headbands] for completing certain tasks.'

    You say, 'What yellow headband?'

Phin Esrinap says 'This is awarded to our students for helping clear out the evil that inhabits the old ruins of the Qeynos Hills. Just bring me back three putrid rib bones as proof of your good deeds and turn in your [training headband], and then I will give you the yellow headband.'

Putrid Rib Bones drop from putrid skeletons which spawn in the ruins of Qeynos Hills. Be aware that these tend to group with other critters and can be hard to kill at lower levels. Give them to Phin along with the White Headband toreceive experience, faction and your brand new Yellow Headband.

    Upon turning them in:

Phin Esrinap says 'Ahh.. Good. I feel that your hard work and training will soon be rewarded.. and the yellow headband shall soon be yours.'
Phin Esrinap says 'Ahh.. Good. I feel that your hard work and training will soon be rewarded.. and the yellow headband shall soon be yours.'
Phin Esrinap says 'Ahh.. Good. I feel that your hard work and training will soon be rewarded.. and the yellow headband shall soon be yours.'
Phin Esrinap says 'Good work.. and, as promised, here is your reward. It is an honor to present this yellow headband to _______, for recent acts of courage and heroism, on behalf of the Silent Fist Clan.'

Helpin a Monk friend of mine using my rogue, I was bored and killed Konem Matse in Qeynos Hills. He dropped the yellow headband. Monk seemed pretty happy about this... something about trying to get a white headband... anyways, hope this helps someone...
    Putrid Bones only!
    # Apr 18 2002 at 2:53 PM Rating: Excellent
These are taken off of the Putrid skeletons only. The others will only give you the normal chip bones. However, be careful when looting skeletons on this hill... Because they may not be "dead". Some rest as if they are kills then pop up and crush an unsuspecting newbie. I did this quest as a 9 but did do a few trains to SFG.

Turned in 3 to Phin Esrinap when he was inside the Monk guildhouse and he didn't give anything but encouraging words! What a rip!@#?

Does this only work when he's in the yard?

the best way to get the bones for any lvl is to ask if someone is camping the ruins and if ther eis a high lvl there then ask if you can have 3 putrid rib bones more then likely they will give them to you for free to free up space in there invitory i jsut today got 2 and would have another 2 if i could have stuck around a bit more and all for free
    Which Bones
    # Aug 27 2001 at 8:36 PM Rating: Default
If you loot the bones off of a Putrid Skeleton is that automatically the Putrid Rib Bone or does a box pop up just like on a Rabid Wolf that it is a quest item.

I have killed about 5 Putrid Skeletons, but they never have the Rib Bones, just regular bones.
    Erinsap (sic)
    # Aug 18 2001 at 2:43 PM Rating: Default
You don't give these to the Guildmaster, but to Philip Erinsap (something like that) who is one of the trainers. He wanders near the guild hall, sometimes inside.

What is the order of sashs and headbands
    RE: ?????
    # Jun 07 2001 at 5:36 AM Rating: Default
white yellow orange blue purple and black in that order
    RE: ?????
    # Oct 31 2001 at 11:49 AM Rating: Decent
nope... white, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and finally black. Blue and black only available by killing monk trainers and the rest are available thru quests.

Correct. The FP sashes follow the same color order, but nothing above the red sash can be quested for, the purple, blue, and black sashes can only be received by killing the guildmasters. (Which seems pointless, because by the time you can kill them by yourself, you can get the FBSS instead!)

By the way, iksar monks can quest for these, if they get their faction up to amiable. Which means killing lots of Sabertooth gnolls for the Qeynos monks, and killing lots of Deathfist orcs for the Freeport monks.

Human monks can quest for the shackles if they raise their faction to amiable with the iksar monks, but it would be pretty much pointless since they can't wear them (iksar monks can wear the sashes and headbands, but humans can't wear the shackles). Only advantage for a human monk to quest after the shackles is faction, and there's much easier ways of geting it, like simply turning in bone chips to Trooper Mozo.
    great way to clear ruins!

if your having trouble with every thing going aggro on the hill when your just trying to pull one, try casting snare on the one you want to kill, that should make them all come after you then run to surefall so the guards can kill them and the only one left will be the one you snared bringing up the rear so intercept it before it reaches the guards and it should be alot easier than worrying about all of them at once. this is of course a moot point if you cant cast snare.

hehe, maybe ye should have put that under a druid quest forum...'cause i don't know any monks who can cast snare...
    Got this at 3.

Just ask the Pyzjin killers to give you their ribs that they get. Got this in about 5 minutes (ran from N. Qeynos to Hills, and back to turn in the ribs). Good item at level 3!
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 13 2000 at 9:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Took me forever to get the bones...the spawn rate is slow and they aren't always putrid skellies that spawn.
