This task starts with Poison Masters in various cities and has a seven-day lockout timer. This is the first "Small Favor" task for rogues (the second being "A Small Favor - Eldrith Tenk").

You say, 'Hail, Poison Master Elmn'

Poison Master Elmn looks over you assesing your worth. 'Hello there ____, it is good that you have come to me today, that you have sought me out. I was just saying to myself, Self, I said, who is worthy of this [opportunity] I have? And now, here you are!'

You say, 'What opportunity?'

Poison Master Elmn nods. 'Yes, a most fantastic opportunity. I happen to have in my posession certain items. These items, when combined together, form [toxins] of various purposes. You might put one on a blade and if your hand happened to slip and the blade pierced the side of your enemy, why that enemy might begin to suffer terrible agony. And that would be a terrible shame, wouldn't it?'

You say, 'Toxins is my middle name ;)'

Poison Master Elmn laughs. 'You're interested? Of course you are! But I am a business man. If I were to give you these items you would need to do a [service] for me first. A small token of your appreciation for the gift that I will bestow on you.'

You say, 'I'm at your service!'

Poison Master Elmn smiles grimly, and you suddenly realize what a dangerous individual you're dealing with. 'Here is your task young one. Do not disappoint me. Never forget the tools of your craft - you must be invisible to detection or you will surely die. And you're no good to me dead!'

You have been assigned the task ''.

The poison master has asked you to perform a simple task and promised ample rewards for your service. Travel to East Freeport and resolve a small misunderstanding between the poison master and one Endoc Cron.

It would be in your best interests to be hidden from view while undertaking this task as the Poison Master's informants report the Freeport Militia are on high alert.

You receive a Distraction Device.

Enter East Freeport near Armor by Ikhtar via West Freeport near Grolagh's Forge and head north 0/1 (West Freeport)

Follow the "East Freeport" signs after zoning into West Freeport from the Plane of Knowledge and heading through the main city gate.

Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection 0/1 (East Freeport)

Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection 0/1 (East Freeport)

Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection 0/1 (East Freeport)

Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection 0/1 (East Freeport)

Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection 0/1 (East Freeport)

Plant the bomb and hide 0/1 (East Freeport)

Use the distraction device (click it inside the wagon at your last update spot).

Run to Velith and Bardo while the guards are distracted and 'deal' with Endoc Cron 0/1 (East Freeport)

During the sneak stages, mystical paths will form. Endoc is guarded by two Militia Enforcers who will run out to the noise of the bomb. This will allow you to kill Endoc.

If you're too late (the timer is less then 5 minutes for them to run back but no idea on the exact time), they are back guarding Endoc. The enforcers hit for 96,000, so you're not likely to succeed unless they're distracted.

Rewards:
20x Consigned bite of the Shissar VII

And ingredients for 20 more:
Consigned Plain Sealed Poison Vial
Emulsifier
Suspension Fluid
Grade AA Mamba Venom
Rewards:

I put the distraction device in the wagon, hid and never saw the path, so I was ambushed and slain.
I ran back, got to my corpse and got the path. I ran forward to the entry to the Arena and the path vanished.
Camped, came back, no path. So I wandered back and got my corpse. Path came back, said mysterious forces prevented me.
Camped, came back, Saw the red X on the map, moved to it.
Got update, task said to release the poison - don't forget to hold your breath.
I clicked the poison, it gave me a fail message and said the guards were on the way - Run!
I used Escape. Seems to have reset. I moved back to the X point, clicked the poison and task completed.

I never got the sneak path lighting, but was able to follow directions anyway to finish those steps. Now it says to place the bomb. From reading here and another forum iiuc its the wagon next to the pool by the arena, and with the fletching merchant standing right next to it. Ok, the bomb looks like it should be clickable but its not clicking. The wagon isnt an npc either so I cant give it the bomb like in tutorial. Is it busted or am I doing it wrong?

I found the problem. The wagon is not the one next to the pool. The right wagon is in the area behind Velithe & Bardo's. Thats not even near the place where my sneak updates ended, so I suspect they moved it.

When you say sneak path, is it like using ctrl f to find NPC's? That kind of path lighting?

Which particular step did in the quest step above is where you found the wagon path wasn't right?

I would advise not to try this quest unless your hide and sneak is consistent. As a 30 level rogue my hide is 126 and my sneak is at 155. There is no path until you are at the wagon near the pool; the arena is on your map. When I arrived at the wagon a bunch of guards were running around and I waited until they had passed. Plant the bomb in the wagon and a yellow path will appear for you to follow. I would suggest that after each action you immediately sneak and hide. After poisoning the well I origined out before even picking my reward. Sorry; I was in to much of a hurry to origin out before i got caught to check to see how much xp i received but I did receive all the rewards listed. Overall; a fun quest for a rogue.
should have done at lvl 22

I set the bomb, ran on the path to the pool to drop the vial of testing, at that point I got the reward, ran and killed endoc but the task did not update, and when i went back for the second task a small favor eldrith the poison master gave me test theis for me will ya again, what am I doing wrong?

I really hate games where things automatically attack you when they haven't even seen you (yet).
I tried to do this at 11 with an invis potion as noted here and the guards that hadn't even come around the corner yet already were on my extended list just prior to clicking the potion.
This task should allow you to hide around a corner or something but NOOOO if you do you get smacked down by all-knowing npcs.

Apparently my rogue is terrible at sneaking and hiding. The guards seemed to see me even after I was supposedly "successful" in sneaking and/or hiding. I finally broke down and used a Potion of Invisibility to get the job done. It worked like a charm.
Test this for me, will ya?

This is a quest given to a 22 rogue when i went back to get another task from the poison task giver after completing A small favor - endoc cron.

the steps:

Locate the wagon near the pool of water, near the East Freeport Arena - east freeport
Plant the bomb and hide! - west freeport - click the bomb ( says west freeport but was actually right there in east freeport, at the bomb site...just move away )
Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection! - east freeport
Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection! - east freeport
Release the poison! Don't forget to hold your breath! - east freeport

The Sneak along the path precisely to avoid detection: a find npc path appears and you follow it and it disappears about 10 steps later at the steps to the pool. Going into the pool updates the second sneak. When you were given the task, in addition to the 'bomb', you were also given a vial of poison. click this in the water.

at level 22 reward was
consigned bite of the shissar II -20
consigned crude sealed poison vial - 20
grade e mamba venom - 20
suspension fluid - 20
emulsifier - 20

Repeatable, on a 7 day lockout.

Level not really important on these, as the NPCs you have to kill level to an appropriate level of the toon doing the task. Rather how many you have done, is more important, as they will change from time to time. Level matters as far as the rewards, and somewhat for the tasks. I never got a kill task at very low levels, but that could of just been the Random Number Generator oddity.

Anyway, if you stay the same level, and keep doing them, they will change after a few missions. Same as you level, they change after a few missions. I'm not sure, if there is a count, or if it's just a moderate probability of changing or what. But, it has appeared to me to be that you do a few of one, then get a different one for a few, at least when the same level or leveling slowly.

Hope this helped,

Yther Ore.
Same quest at 55

at 55 I also got this one. But the reward was adjusted to version IX. The recipe is the same, except for concentrated grade a mamba venom and consigned refined poison vial. Version IX has a trivial of 214, with a required minimum level of 250.
