This raid expedition begins with Tenkar Everhot in the Underquarry (he's located in the zone-in area).

Pre-requisites for requesting this raid:
- Scent of a Woman (and its pre-requisites)
- Completion of Brell's Rest, Cooling Chamber, and Pellucid Grotto raids

Pre-requisite for participating in this raid:
- Must have looted and used the Coin of Brell from one of the prior tier's raids

At the end of the "Scent of a Woman" task, you saw:

So it appears that individuality works both ways. Once given an honest choice, the Unfinished Subordinate was able to place value on continued service to Brell, and reject the path of Self. The defeat of the Bellikos witch appears to have had some disturbing ramifications, however. . . is that [rumbling] from deeper in the Underquarry getting louder?

Tenkar Everhot has some information about that:

You say, 'Hail, Tenkar Everhot'

Tenkar Everhot says 'Goodwill to ya. I trust you're not just another apeling from the surface, here to make mischief along with the other creatures that have [invaded] my beloved Underquarry?'

You say, 'Invaded?'

Tenkar Everhot says 'Aye, and we need an army to hold them off, an army we haven't got! Some of these other dwarves and gnomes are ready to start wringing their hands, but not me. I'll be fighting them off with my axe and hammer, till there's no more air in me lungs! Long centuries have I served Brell Serilis, and wherever he may have gone, I'll not give up an inch of his realm as long as I've sworn to protect it! But, I have to admit, [disaster] looms!'

You say, 'Disaster?'

Tenkar Everhot says 'We have only a limited amount of time for talking! We've got [duties] that must be done!'

You say, 'What duties?'

Tenkar Everhot says 'Take your pick. First, our negotiations with the Bellikos have broken down. We now suffer Lady Envy of the Bellikos pushing into the Underquarry with a clockwork army. I suppose we'll need to put a [mission] together to blast them out. If that was too tame for ya, maybe you could get together fifty or so adventurers and lead a [raid] into that first stone quarry of ours; something big has broken its way out of the lower mines and won't be restrained.'

You say, 'A raid?'

Tenkar Everhot says 'Aye, something big, too big for even a full squad of deepminers to handle. I wager it must be something Brell Serilis left behind to watch over the Underquarry, something he never told us about. Whatever it is, it's big enough to put some holes in this place, and flatten anyone who tries to stop it. If you can [mobilize] in sufficient strength to stop it, there could be rowrbazzle-size rewards for you and your group.'

You say, 'I can mobilize some strength'

If you have too few players in your raid, you'll see this response:

Tenkar Everhot says 'What's that? Only a crazy fool would want to take on such a task alone! Have ya been bonked on yer head a few too many times, laddy?'

With appropriate flags and 6-54 people:

Tenkar Everhot says 'Very well. I applaud your bravery, and hope you brought some heavy hitters. The thing's name is 'Brath', I'm told. It's big, it's ancient, and it's been disturbed by all the unusual events of late. When you're ready to descend into the stone quarry, give me your [report].'

You are assigned the "Wrath of Brath" expedition.

Tenkar Everhot says 'Brell be with you.'

You have entered The Underquarry - The Wrath of Brath.


- Offtank Brath.
- Keep the trench guardian mezzed.
- Kill first wave of autarch mobs.
- Brath moves to his second location.
- Kill the warden that spawns with the second wave.
- Kill the second wave of autarch mobs.
- Brath moves to his third location.
- Kill the third wave of autarch mobs.
- Loot and turn in the four Agranite chunks to Targamin Blockstacker.
- Beat on Brath until he moves to his fourth location.
- Beat on Brath until he moves to his fifth location.
- Kill Brath while fending off the Shard adds that spawn.


Brath has an aura called "Gravity of the Void" which suppresses all levitate effects. It also breaks invisibility if you get near it.

He is permanently rooted; summons from 100% health; hits for a max ~20,000 (note: prior to the Agranite turn-ins, he has less damage output); flurries; single-target rampages; AE rampages for full damage; and enrages. He casts a few spells:

Regeneration of Kaol: Self 0', Magic (0)
1: Increase Hitpoints by 24000 per tick

"Wrath of Brath" is cast if his target moves away from him:

Brath roars in anger as the one he wants to crush the most runs away from him.

1: Decrease HP when cast by 20000
2: Slow Push (-400) (pulls target)

"Demolition Strike" is emote-based. Either a front/back emote or a left/right emote:

Brath prepares to demolish everything in front and back of him.

Brath's Regeneration

To begin with, Brath is unkillable. His regeneration has to be eliminated:

Brath shudders and his wounds rapidly close. If Brath is to be defeated something must be done to stop his regeneration!

At the zone-in is a dwarf named Targamin Blockstacker who can help with that.

You say, 'Hail, Targamin Blockstacker'

Targamin Blockstacker says 'Hurry _____! We have little time! You must keep Brath engaged in combat with you at all times! If he is allowed to rampage unchecked through this cavern he will do the damage he was designed to do and move on, and our opportunity will be lost! You must [defeat] him!'

You say, 'How do we defeat him?'

Targamin Blockstacker says 'I can weaken him enough for you to kill him, but my sacred Agranite crystals have been stolen by traitorous engineers! If you attack Brath it should flush them out of hiding - they plan to use Brath for their own purposes - and if you kill them, you can bring me back the Agranite. I need four crystals to remove Brath's enchanted regeneration! Hurry!'

The Agranite he speaks of drops from the add waves: One from each captain (the first and second waves) and two from the general (the third wave).

Turning in 4x "A Large Chunk of Agranite" to Targamin Blockstacker will negate Brath's regeneration and make him killable.

These items are LORE and NO DROP. If you loot one of these items and die, it disappears from your inventory (making the event unwinnable).

On turning in the first three chunks, you see:

Brath screams in pain as Targamin passes his right hand lightly over the Agranite he holds. The Agranite glows softly and a small globe of light detaches and flies, fast as thought, to strike Brath. Brath seems diminished, but formidable.

On turning in the last chunk, you see:

Brath screams again in pain as Targamin activates the final Agranite crystal. Targamin smiles with satisfaction and shouts 'His defenses have been deactivated! Attack in earnest now!'

At this point, Brath becomes killable. Note: Also at this point, his damage output increases.

Trench Guardian & Banishments

In the deepest part of the ravine splitting up the room is a golem called "a trench guardian of Brath". It's permanently rooted and chain casts the spell "Grinding Gravity:

1: Slow Push (-110)
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 8000 per tick (1.5 minutes)
3: Increase corruption counter by 3

Throughout the event, random people will be banished to the trench guardian's location. Upon being banished, you see the emote:

A gigantic foot kicks you! You fly through the air and land, miraculously still alive, in the ravine.

The trench guardian is mezzable and should be kept that way the entire event.


Brath's location moves and add waves are timed. These things will happen whether you're ready, or not.

The times listed below are estimates only. Times given are from the moment Brath is engaged.

0:20 - Add Wave #1
3:40 - Brath moves to Location #2
4:05 - Add Wave #2
7:50 - Brath moves to Location #3
8:20 - Add Wave #3
12:00 - Brath moves to Location #4
12:50 - Brath moves to Location #5

Add Wave #1

All add waves spawn near the southeastern corner of the room. You'll see this emote as an add wave spawns:

In the distance you hear a shout, 'Stop them before they ruin everything! If they kill Brath before we can harness his power our plans will be in tatters! Death to the interlopers!'

The first add wave consists of six mobs. A captain will always spawn. The remainder of the mobs is a random mix of the other types. Adds are:

an autarch captain
an autarch avenger
an autarch basher
an autarch healer
an autarch warrior

The captain hits for a max ~15,000 and casts "Axeborn Lavaball":

Avengers cast "Dwarven Shield Strike":

Healers heal other adds around them.

Only the warriors are mezzable. All but the captain are stunnable.

All adds summon from 100% health.

Add Wave #2

The second add waves consists of six mobs. This wave will always consist of 1 captain + 4 diggers + 1 warden:

an autarch Captain
an autarch digger
an autarch warden

The warden doesn't attack anyone. Instead, it runs to Brath's location and casts a knockback aura around it. It has to be killed with pets and ranged attacks.

The captain hits for a max ~15,000 and casts "Smashing Hammerblow":

1: Decrease Hitpoints by 19000
2: Stun (1.50 sec)
3: Knockback (1) and Toss Up (1)

The diggers hit for a max ~9,000.

Add Wave #3

The third add wave consists of six mobs. A general will always spawn. The remainder of the mobs is a random mix of the other types. Adds are:

an autarch general
an autarch avenger
an autarch basher
an autarch healer
an autarch warrior

The general hits for a max ~15,000. He doesn't cast any spells. The other adds are the same as Wave #1.

Shards of Brath

Approximately one minute after Brath moves to his final fight location, shards of Brath begin spawning. The longer you take to kill Brath, the more frequent and stronger these adds become. You can actually kill Brath before these adds have a chance to spawn, but that requires a heavy amount of DPS.

Adds hit for a max ~12,000 and have unique abilities and weaknesses:

Enflamed Shard of Brath

Casts "Uncontrolled Oil Spray" and "Enflamed Mana":

Uncontrolled Oil Spray: PB AE 250', (-90)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 7000 per tick
2: Decrease Double Attack by 100%
3: Unknown #343 (100/20/0)
4: Decrease HP when cast by 15000
5: Increase corruption counter by 18

Enflamed Mana: Self 0', Magic (0) (This may be cast on whoever nukes it)
1: Decrease Mana by 1000 per tick
2: Increase corruption counter by 18
3: Decrease Hitpoints by 500 per tick

Enflamed Shards can be killed using fire nukes (the longer the event's been active and the more adds that have spawned, the more nukes it will take to kill these).

Icy Shard of Brath

Casts "Strike of Brell":

Strike of Brell: Targeted AE 175', Corruption (-80)
1: Stun (1.00 sec)
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 30000

Icy Shards can be killed using cold nukes (the longer the event's been active and the more adds that have spawned, the more nukes it will take to kill these).

Arcane Shard of Brath

If you try to kite "Arcane Shard of Brath", is splits into two mobs. Any magic-based spells cast on the Arcane Shard of Brath will result in a large AE:

It also casts a silence (possible that it only hits whoever casts on it):

Event Fail & Reset

If Brath goes one minute without aggro, the event resets:

A huge rock chunk breaks from the tunnel ceiling and falls on Targamin, mortally wounding him!

As his final breaths escape him Targamin Blockstacker calls upon the special magic Brell has given him. Feeding his life force into the arcane words he speaks, Targamin forces Brath backwards. Upon the instant of his death Brell's Blessing descended on Targamin and he rises, unharmed, from where he lay a moment before and pushes you out of the cavern before you are crushed by the collapsing ceiling. Hurry back to Targamin for he can only contain Brath for a short time! This is only a temporary solution to this problem!

Everyone still alive is kicked out of the zone, corpses are spit out to the non-instanced Underquarry, and the expedition closes.

Brath's Death & Loot

Upon Brath's death, you see:

Brath has been slain by _____!

As the massive golem falls to the stony floor you feel a wind pass over you. The wind is warm, like an exhaled breath. And in that wind, you think you hear a deep, heartfelt sigh of relief.

A stone chest spawns at his first fight location.

Loot includes 2 armor pieces (first list) + 2 other items (second list) + 2 Emblems of Brell (flag) + 1 Coin of Brell (backflag) + 2 Scintillating Obsidianite Runes + 2 Brilliantly or Brightly Pulsating Crystallized Cosgrove Shards + 0-1 Crystallized Ball of Cosgrove Clay:
