Short on Supplies and Patience

This solo task begins with Stoutanvil the Crafter in Volska's Husk. He is located at -900, 150, -33 (just outside the main Autarchian caves in the southwest).
You say, 'Hail, Stoutanvil the Crafter' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'There! Did you see him?! Those beady eyes peeking from behind that rock over there!' Stoutanvil the Crafter waves his stubby hand, but there is no one behind the rock. 'Those worthless, tinkering Gnomes are everywhere, watching me, waiting until I turn my back so they can steal my [supplies]!' You say, 'Your supplies?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'The spigot for my ale barrel, the iron ore for my short sword, even the brass connecter ring on my pipe -- they've stolen it all! Brazen! Last night I woke up to one of them fishing around in my pockets! I swatted at his smirking, little face, but do you know what he did? He jerked my pants off and bolted into the next tunnel. He probably wanted the steel studs and clasps that held my pants together. I'll never [see] anything like that nice, comfy leather again -- at least not while I'm [down here]...' You say, 'How is it down here?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'I had it pretty good up in Brell's Rest. Plenty of ale and ore and leather pants. But it was not the best. Some have it better than others, and it's Brell's fault. After working hard my whole life as a crafter, I should have had the finest treatment in all of Underfoot. But he wouldn't let me into the Shining City! Why not? Just because I was too busy crafting useful things and said one prayer too few? I'm glad I found a [better] way, if only to spite that arrogant Brell!' You say, 'A better way?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'I don't care if down here our supplies and ore are scarce, we have to eat Sporali meat, and we have to make do with inferior tools. At least we're doing what we want, and Brell can't tell us where we can and can't go. If only those blasted Gnomes would stop stealing everything, I'd be happy enough! Oh, how I'd love to [see] them brought to justice!' You say, 'You'd like to see justice?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'All those Gnomes look alike, and they're everywhere! I've tried to find the thieves, but I see their faces in the rocks, the chairs, the darkened tunnels. They're all guilty, as far as I'm concerned! All they care about are their walking clockwork contraptions, their [metal men].' You say, 'What about these metal men?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'They don't care about a good ale or a well-carved shield. No, they have to build giant metal versions of themselves because they are embarrassed about their size. Maybe I'm going crazy, _____, but I don't even [care] about my supplies or my pants anymore. They're all ruined anyway, grafted onto two-legged trash heaps.' You say, 'You don't care?' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'I just want to them to pay! I want those eyes to stop watching me! I don't want the clanking sound of metal footsteps to remind me of my stolen property! Just [smash] them all! Smash those beady Gnome faces! Smash their silly contraptions!' You say, 'I'll smash them all!' Stoutanvil the Crafter says 'Yes! I knew you hated Gnomes as much as I do! Kill as many as you can, and break their clockworks too! But watch out: I think the Bellikos guards like what the Gnomes build -- something about defensive measures. It doesn't matter, though. Deal with them too if they get in the way!' You have been assigned the task 'Short on Supplies and Patience'. The Gnomes have been stealing supplies from Stoutanvil the Crafter in order to build their clockwork contraptions. Help Stoutanvil take retribution on them by killing some Gnomes and their creations. If any Bellikos interfere, deal with them too.
