This shared task (1-6 players) is the third in a series of three. It begins with Berrina Saltidnarik at location -650, 200, 37 in Brell's Rest.

Completion of this task (and the previous two) allows you to request the group mission from Algera.

You say, 'Hail, Berrina Saltidnarik'

Berrina Saltidnarik says 'Hello there, _____. You look like you're a [visitor] to this realm.'

You say, 'Yep, I'm a visitor'

Berrina Saltidnarik says 'Not all of us are here by choice. Some who dwell in this realm are bound to it due to our devotion to Brell. That is the position that I find myself in, for example. Still, one does what one [can], no?'

You say, 'They do what they can'

Berrina Saltidnarik says 'Even in the realm of a god, there is always work that can be done. I pride myself on being a problem solver, personally. I try to find and fix [problems] whenever someone comes to me with one.'

You say, 'Problems?'

Berrina Saltidnarik says 'The gnolls haven't been their normal selves recently. They're less likely to engage anyone in conversation, and they haven't been fighting the Kobolds like they usually do. Are you [willing] to investigate?'

You say, 'I'm willing'

Berrina Saltidnarik says 'Their leader is named Parrmug, and you can find him around the Gnoll camp to the west. He isn't that talkative with me, but he might open up to someone who isn't so familiar to him.'

You have been assigned the task 'Gnoll with the Punches'.
The direction to someone related to your current Task has been marked on your compass.

The kobolds, without their regular sparring with the gnolls, have become restless, but the gnolls have not. Berrina wants you to find out why they are acting so strangely.

Find and speak with the gnoll leaders. See if you can discover the cause of their odd behavior.

Speak with Parrmug 0/1 (Brell's Rest)

Parrmug is found in the gnoll camp in the western part of the zone. Note: If another group is in the midst of this task, he will be elsewhere and unavailable (only one group at a time can do this task). He respawns in the gnoll camp immediately after a group wins or fails their task.

You say, 'Hail, Parrmug'

Parrmug says 'Grrrrr... No talking. Is too [close].'

You say, 'Close?'

Parrmug says 'Nothing! No talking! Behind you! Look!'

Kill the unyielding gnoll reavers 0/2 (Brell's Rest)

Kill the frail gnoll reavers 0/21 (Brell's Rest)

After you hail Parmug, he runs out of camp, to the left, downhill a bit, then hides in a bush on left side. You hail him, two mobs spawn in 5 seconds or so, mez and whack. When they pop he runs downhill to the steam elementals area, hail him , he pops his two adds and he runs over by Gilbot.

At Gilbot, don't do what I did and light him up 90 necro style because while you're alt tabbing to read that you have to talk to him, he dies from the dots...and you didn't follow the dialogue and he's dead and no update.

When he dies you get about 5 seconds before the mobs pop around you. Everything is mezzable by serenity, Rk2. That's all I used until they were all dead. Just AOe mez them. Then for the last two hard ones, I baffled one and killed the other.

It's like the Library task. AOE mez, then wiz merc on burn, then necro breaks the mez on the lightweights and the wizmerc blasts the ones he just woke up, while they beat on necro. They barely hit you at all.

Agree w/ sneaky. Vinelash helped but wasn't necessary since the other blue con mobs are so weak. The main thing about this quest are the TWO yellow gnolls. Those mobs are what's the killer. A chanter is the easiest solution to that. It's crazy at first (that's probably why everyone fails at first try), but once you know what to do, you're golden. Good luck to all!

Ok, we did this last night. First time we wiped, on the last part ( 23 frail mobs ). This was because we didnt mez the 2 yellow cons ( the unyielding gnolls ).

Then we got it.

Parrmug is unmezzable, and unstunnable, so you have to burn him down fast.
I played war and dru, and I used def disc and ae taunt and focused on parrmug first. Our chanter mezzed the two unyielding. And we all just put up with the frail ones. I did use vinelash to help some, but the frails are so damm weak, my druid could handle 5 of them beating on my dru pretty easy.

Chanter can also help with beam of slumber on the frails, but mostly split up into 2 groups, with 3 cleric mercs in each group ( and all the dps toons are in the shared task, even though they are in separate groups ).

So once parrmug is dead, slaughter the frails. They are super easy to kill, no need to assist main tank, its a free for all slaughter, wizzies can zap em down fast.

Ripostle disc helps a lot on clearing the frails. as does damage shields.

Once we finishe parrmug it was very easy. once half the frails were dead it got stupid easy.

And when all the frails are down; kill the 2 unyielding one at a time.

I honestly dont know how to do this without a chanter: unless you bring multiple groups or something. Vinelash helped, but wasnt necessary.

Also, the mobs seem teathered to parmugg. he is snarable, but we could never single pull any of the buggers out of the group.

Also, first time we tried it, and wiped, the mobs were still up, but we waited too long before re-engaging, and they despawned and the quest ended (failed).

Our lineup: war, dru, chanter, mage, bst, shm, and helping: pally and war.

How would a grp go about doing this task without a chanty? I assume focus on Parrmug on the last stage and finish him off first. Then what? Kill off the 2 stronger gnolls then kill the lesser ones or the other way around? Thats a ton of hits to take for anyone.

I am wondering my self. No one is talking about these task. What if you wipe? do you have to start over or can you go back to where the mobs are and kill them off?
