Twice in a row now, this task has bugged. First time, the red mob switched to black and then died from DOTs. The other mob went black and reset. Second time, we killed the red mob before it switched even once, the black one turned red, we beat it down to 16% and then it went black and wouldn't change again.
Fortunately in both cases we were able to open the door they were guarding and run in past the mob, skipping the rest of the event.
Discord Tower Event #5.5: Elite Towerguards

This is a mini-event in the raid expedition "Citadel of the Worldslayer". It follows event #5 (Sacrifice) and comes before event #6 (Overlord Muram).
You'll encounter two nekhon elite towerguards: One red, one black. The red one is aggro and attacks upon approach: a nekhon elite towerguard utters an unearthly howl. It hits for a max ~14,000 and enrages. It has an aura which strips levitate buffs, and casts an AE knockback. The black one is non-aggro and has an aura which chain nukes (you'll want to avoid it). Nekhon Drain: Single Target, Unresistable (-650) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 7692 (if fully shielded this hits for 5k) They'll switch colors randomly, so be ready to move away. Once you kill the red nekhon, the black nekhon will turn red and remain red until it dies. Note they are tethered to the area in which they spawn. If you pull them down the ramp, they'll reset to 100% health. a nekhon elite towerguard has been slain by _____! a nekhon elite towerguard's corpse falls to the ground, its ever burning flame flickering. Your faction standing with Discordant Armies got worse. Your faction standing with Dragorn Forces got better. Your faction standing with Herald of Druzzil Ro got better. Upon the death of the second nekhon, a chest spawns with loot: 1 Chronal Shear (first list) + 1 other item (second list): Brightly Pulsating Chronal Shear Brilliantly Pulsating Chronal Shear Pulsating Chronal Shear Curator's Treasure Fractured Coeval Incandessence Fractured Coeval Luminessence Gem Embedded Discord Stone Ksathrax's Amber Pallorax's Frozen Flame Worldslayer Blessed Crystal There is no loot difference between the normal and hard verisons of this event. This event has a lockout timer the same as the rest of the events in the zone, so you only have to defeat it one time per clear. NOTE: If for some reason, the event gets bugged (when only an unkillable black nekhon is left up), you can open the door and move into the Overlord Muram event without killing the second nekhon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

One thing I've noticed is that if Tower event #6 is not up, this event will not be up.
from the looks of it, just trash drops from obf/cod/korafax with a chance of a essence for armor.
