Anniversary events tend to run from mid-March to mid-April (sometimes to mid-May) each year. They are not available during the "off season".

For an overview and list of EverQuest Anniversary events, see this quest entry.

This is an anniversary quest available only during anniversary season (a few weeks during March and April). It was introduced in 2009 as part of EverQuest's 10th anniversary.

This is one of 16 deity quests. For an overview of how rewards work and how these quests are linked with one another, see this writeup.

Below here are the details for this particular quest.

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image wanders the Plane of Knowledge near the Soulbinder.

You say, 'Hail, Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image'

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image says 'Hello there! You might know me. Then again, you might not. No matter to me, really. I just wanted to invite you to a [party]!'

You say, 'A party?'

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image says 'It seems to me that lately you folks here on Norrath have gotten a bit too stressed out. You've been slaying dragons for a decade, it's time to relax! So I've set up some firework shows for you. Of course with any good party plans, you really should expect to go to several places to get the most out of it. So do you want to enjoy a good show? Are you up to the challenge? A party [challenge]!'

You say, 'I'll take the challenge'

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image says 'Well then, good luck! Most of all have fun!'

You have been assigned the task 'Bristlebane's Party Favor - Bristlebane's Favor'.

Bristlebane wants you to visit the firework shows all over Norrath. They happen only at one place at a time, so you have to keep moving!

Bristlebane told you that he's having a party and has challenged you to participate. All over Norrath, and likely a few other places, there are firework shows to enjoy. All he has asked is that you find those fireworks and enjoy them. But the fireworks show only happens in one place at a time, so you'll have to keep moving. Bristlebane assured you that nothing bad would happen to you...

All he has asked is that you find those fireworks and enjoy them. But the fireworks show only happens in one place at a time, so you'll have to keep moving. Bristlebane assured you that nothing bad would happen to you...

You hear a laugh in your mind. Bristlebane has noticed your attendance at his party.

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image shouts 'Thanks for attending my party! You've been a wonderful guest. May our next ten years together be as grand as our first!'

Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image says 'See ya!'

IF YOU HAIL BRISTLEBANE'S IMAGE AFTERWARDS:

You say, 'Hail, Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane`s Image'

Bristlebane says, 'I hope you enjoyed the show! I bet you thought I was going to trick you and do something funny to you when you got to each of my shows. So when you got to the fireworks you were probably worried that something bad was going to happen! Well, some tricks are more subtle than a pie in the face.'

On the Rathe server 2014:

Partymachine is currently in Greater Faydark where he popped at 2.15 PM Central European Time. (The PoK zone up-time at that point was 12days 22hours 57minutes)
So at 3.15 PM Central European Time he will pop in Nektulos Forest.

Returning player after 5+ years (75 was brand new cap at the time), so I'm not sure if the servers are sync'ed but I'm on Povar, it was reset about 12 hours ago (PoK)...

9:20 pm EST - caught on the wall in MT , looking like he spends alot of time on the southern part.

In the past hour though, I never got this: >, " LOCATION: Rathe Mountains -- old hill giant area (CONFIRMED)" .. That is the location prior to this. I ran around what I thought was the "old hill giant" area, on the hill, around the hill, the creepy hotel thingy of houses on the back-side.. the gypsy vendor area.. for an hour i ran around and on this hill, never saw him, never his lights. Iirc, that IS the old hg area, were we all used to farm pp and steel weaps for more pp at the gypsies (not me, ikky/necro.. they wouldnt talk to me).

Anyway, has anyone else faced this? Anyone have n /loc for a footprint in his path in that zone?

Hope this helps, and pre-thanks if anyone knows rathe mount locs

EDIT : He poofed out of MT at 10:14 pm EST

The offset on Bristlebane server for 2013 is -2. Therefore, the Excel formula is: =MOD(((up_days * 24) + up_hours),20) - 2

Initial calculations placed the BPM in Erudin, while I actually found it in South Ro. Top of the hour I watched it vanish from South Ro, and then minutes later found it in Everfrost.

Same thing on the Cazic-Thule server. The change occured recently. Now its 2 spots back. It was 3 spots back within the past day or 2. EDIT: Have problems this weekend with instances. Right now Brells Party Machine is stuck in Highpass Hold at least on the cazic-thule server. EDIT: It finally started moving again. Now its actually 3 spots ahead.

several players on The Rathe server doing this quest today, we had the calculations to a T, Followed him all the way til it was time to head to Everfrost... but he never showed... so we went ahead and had someone go back to PoK to reget the /up but it was still the same calculation. We decided to just go ahead and go to the next location which should have been Erudin, Top of the hour came, he still never showed... waited about 15 mins. I just went to the Feerrott and he was suppose to be there as the hour had changed, Still no BPM!!!!! what is going on?

No, the math all works out, but the offset is different for each year. For 2012 figure out what the remainder is from the date calculation and subtract 4. The calculation said the party machine was supposed to be in Everfrost (4), but I found it in Steamfont (0). I waited till the next hour and sure enough, the calculation said Erudin (5) but I found it in Butcherblock (1).

2011 Zone Calculation
# Mar 22 2011 at 8:50 AM Rating: Decent
I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but here is what I and another person have tested over the course of 2 days.

Using the zone calculations from a previous poster which was great information, however, we were not able to locate the "Bristlebane's Party Machine".

Getting frustrated and thinking this was bugged, I decided to stop working on this quest and start on another.
While doing that, I stumbled upon the BPM in Butcherblock Mountains.
Excited, I made the announcement of his location in general and myself and another person started our adventure.

After getting the update on my task, I did the calculations to see what zone he was suppose to be in versus what zone he was actually in. Per the info, BPM was suppose to be in Misty Thicket but was actually in Butcherblock Mountains. I followed BPM for several hours and zones, went to bed and came back the following day just to make sure that the new information was what it was and also so that the information I passed on was correct and not leading someone on a wild goose chase. (Which I could still be doing, not on purpose however)

So basically, you do the math calculations to find out what zone BPM is in, then you count backwards 11 zones and that is where BPM is.

(Copying and Pasting example from previous post)

First, you need to know how long the Plane of Knowledge zone has been up.

Go to Plane of Knowledge (or ask someone who is in PoK)
Type /up

You will get this message: (These numbers are for example)
This world has been running for 23:15:57:19
This zone has been running for 10:09:51:52

Ignore the first line with "This world". You want the number in the second line "This zone"

The number 10:09:51:52 means this:
PoK zone has been running for 10 days, 9 hours, 51 minutes, 52 seconds.

Here's how you find the Party Machine:
10 days x 24 hrs = 240
240 + 9 hours = 249
249 / 20 = 12.45

The remainder is .45
.45 * 20 = 9 (ignore any fractional part)
The party machine is "zone 9"

The zones are listed below, they are numbered 0 thru 19

The 9th zone on the list is:
CLUE: Only an elf would think that their dark is greater than someone else's.
LOCATION: Greater Faydark -- underneath Kelethin, near PoD lift, NW of druid ring (CONFIRMED)

NOW, on the list

The zones are also listed in order on your Alt-Q Quest Journal
0 Steamfont
1 Butcherblock
2 Qeynos Hills
3 Sourh Ro
4 Everfrost
5 Erudin
6 Feerott
7 Field of Bone
8 Shar Vahl
9 Greater Faydark
10 Nektulos Forest
11 Mountains of Rathe
12 Misty Thicket
13 Natimbi
14 Highpass Hold
15 Cresent Reach
16 Dragonscale Hills
17 Dawnshroud Peaks
18 Cobalt Scar

Count backwards from Greater Faydark, 11 places to Cobalt Scar, and that is where he is in 2011.

I'm doing this quest this year (2011) on two different servers (Cazic Thule and Firiona Vie), and so far I've found the Party Machine exactly where the previous post's calculations had it located. /shrug

I have noticed, however, a slight time lag - when the hour ticks over the machine does not appear immediately in the new zone. But wait 5 minutes or so, and he'll show up. And I've noticed he sometimes isn't precisely where the clue has him, but near there - if I wander around I'll catch sight of the fireworks show.

You can calculate which zone the Party Machine is in:

---------------------------------------
Let's try another example:

/up
This world has been running for 23:15:57:19
This zone has been running for 12:22:11:52

Ok, PoK has been running for 12 days, 22 hours, 11 minutes, 52 seconds.

12days * 24 = 288
288 + 22hours = 310
310 / 20 = 15.5
Remainder of 15.5 is .5
.5 * 20 = 10 (ignore any fractional part)
PM is in zone 10

Zone 10 is Nek Forest
----------------------------------------

The zones are also listed in order on your Alt-Q Quest Journal
0 Steamfont
1 Butcherblock
2 Qeynos Hills
3 Sourh Ro
4 Everfrost
5 Erudin
6 Feerott
7 Field of Bone
8 Shar Vahl
9 Greater Faydark
10 Nektulos Forest
11 Mountains of Rathe
12 Misty Thicket
13 Natimbi
14 Highpass Hold
15 Cresent Reach
16 Dragonscale Hills
17 Dawnshroud Peaks
18 Cobalt Scar
19 BarrenCoast

For math geeks, the numeric method is this:
zone_index = (floor((((up_days * 24) + up_hrs) mod 20) * 20))

Hope this helps,
Goet on Fennin Ro (thanks to Phatinhapi on Erollisi)

THANK YOU!!! I programmed this into a spreadsheet, and with a quick entry of the day and hour I get the zone. If anyone is interested, the Excel formula is: =MOD(((up_days * 24) + up_hours),20)

In Dawnshroud Peaks it's listed as making a wide circle around Netherbian Lair and the baker's camp, but we found it up on the zone wall in front of Sanctus Seru. I forgot to check track but I remember reading somewhere that it doesn't show up. I also didn't see the fireworks announcement I remember seeing in the past. But as bad as my graphics card is, the fireworks did show up in the distance and I was able to find the party machine. One zone down - 18 to go!

for further help, since it took me nearly 40 min to track him down in the giant hill area, i saw him walking from the monument entrance to the little fort on giant hill. his path was pretty much straight W - SW from there.

This task is not repeatable. I've hailed him several times to make sure now, and he has always given the same message.

Well, for those of us who never hunted the hill giants then or now... the Old Hill Giant Area is no direction at all....

I zoned into Rathe Mountain zone through the Gukta Stone in PoK.
I looked for the first left after leaving the Gukta encampment and started circling the hill there, checking the top of the hill once in awhile...
That worked as the other write up I read said it would.(write up said head to the inactive druid ring to the first left cove). I came across the Party Machine on the far end of the hill from Gukta... I followed it back toward Gukta and then it turned to the monument area and past. I did not see it ever go on top of the hill, stayed in the cove/valley area... afterwhich it turned and started back along the same path.
