This is Apothecary Cadmael's second group task. See Cadmael in the middle of Oceangreen Village.

    Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
    - Completed "A Secret Hidden in Plain Sight" (solo task)
    - Completed "A Corrupted Arch Priest" (group mission)

    You say, 'Hail, Apothecary Cadmael'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'How do you do, _____? I seem to be running a bit low on [supplies] for healing at the moment, so if you have fallen ill or become injured, I'm afraid that I will have to urge you to seek out some other traveler with a degree of healing skill. My apologies!'

    You say, 'Supplies?'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'We have recently experienced a rather nasty spate of illness in our fine village. People are falling ill, and we can't seem to figure out what is wrong with them! I've tried everything - lilyroot, ashenmoss, even fresh purple flangers - but nothing seems to help. The strong can weather the disease and return to health in time, but those who are young and vulnerable or old and infirm... they may not be so lucky. I'm fresh out of [ideas].'

    You say, 'Ideas?'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'My only thought is that perhaps this has something to do with that [vile temple] outside of the village. Have you seen that place? It's disgusting and completely ridden with disease.'

    You say, 'The vile temple?'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'I've heard from some of the others that the people in that underground temple are worshipping Bertoxxulous, the disease god! If that is the case, perhaps someone should [investigate] to find out if their disgusting plague worship is causing the illnesses in the village. Or, perhaps you are prepared to [storm] the temple and root out the corruption within?'

You say, 'I'll storm the temple'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'Thank you for your offer of help. I leave it to you to carry the cleansing light of Mithaniel Marr into the darkness. I can transport you into the temple when you are [ready].'

You have been assigned the task 'Remove the Head and the Disease Will Die'.

Killing the Arch Priest of Bertoxxulous certainly helps reduce the danger to the people of Oceangreen Village and to the forces of Antonius Bayle. But you know that there is another power beyond that of the Arch Priest. The one called Scumlord appears to be the one in charge. You have been asked to find him and cleanse him from Norrath.

    You say, 'Ready!'

Apothecary Cadmael says 'Good luck to you!'

    LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered the Temple of Bertoxxulous.

Note: A named mob - "Putrid Assassin" - can spawn in the hidden room north of the library (the northwestern room of the zone). It hits for a max ~2,350 (backstabs for much higher) and doesn't cast any spells.

Among its possible drops (1 item per kill):

    Putrid Bertoxxulous Etched Ring
    Putrid Knight, Card of Death
    Tarnished Dagger, Card of Assassins
    Tarnished Skullhead Ring

Find the Scumlord 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

Task Window Says: It seems likely that the Scumlord is in the temple. Seek him out.

Go to the southeast door and click on it. You get an update saying you need to find the key to the door.

This door is locked. The lock is large and severely rusted.

Find a way past the locked door 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

Task Window Says: You discover that the door here is locked. It doesn't take much effort to deduce that the Scumlord is likely hiding on the other side. Now all you have to do is find a way to unlock the door.

Machinator Grengwar is in the hidden room past the library. He is tethered to the room, and so is the "a wretched skeleton" (hits for a max ~1,650; stunnable) at his side. The other mobs in the room don't appear to be tethered.

Machinator Grengwar says 'All are welcome in the master's mixture!'

He hits for a max ~1,500, doesn't cast any spells, and is stunnable, but not mezzable.

Machinator Grengwar has been slain by _____!
Machinator Grengwar's corpse says 'I am sorry master, I have failed you again.'
Your faction standing with Plaguebringer Parishioners got worse.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald got better.

Loot "Pitted Key" from his corpse.

Find a way past the locked door 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

Task Window Says: You see it now. There is a pattern on the rough, rusted key that could continue on another, similar key. One key is far too small for the massive lock, but two of them might just work. Find the other key.

Prime Lector Quillok is in the large fountain room. Have the same person who looted the previous key loot this one as well.

Prime Lector Quillok says 'You dare to brave the blessed rot of our Lord? Perhaps you fools are more formidable than I had imagined!'

He hits for a max ~1,450 (weaker than trash mobs in the zone), is stunnable but not mezzable, and has two abilities, the first being "Lector's Stunning Voice":

Lector's Stunning Voice: Single Target, Unresistable (-550)
    1: Stun (10.00 sec)
    2: Decrease Hitpoints by 4000

In addition, he'll cast "Lector's Mind Fog" and at the same time, summon two adds:

Prime Lector Quillok says 'Come forth, slave. Kill these intruders and I shall set you free!'

Lector's Mind Fog: PB AE 120', Magic (-500)
    1: Mesmerize (2/90)

2x "a devastated prisoner" charge and attack. These hit for a max ~300 and have relatively few hitpoints.

Prime Lector Quillok has been slain by _____!
Prime Lector Quillok's corpse's body swells and bulges unnaturally, spewing diseased liquids in all directions.
Your faction standing with Plaguebringer Parishioners got worse.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald got better.

Loot "Rusted Key" from his corpse.

Open the door to the southern portion of the temple 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

Task Window Says: All that remains to be done is killing the Scumlord.

As you turn the two keys in the one massive lock, they both snap off. Luckily, the door opens.

Kill 1 Scumlord Heyanti 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

Heyanti is located in the tsetsian room.

Scumlord Heyanti says 'You should have stayed where you belonged. Coming here was a mistake and will cost you everything.'

Scumlord Heyanti says 'You will never stop us! We have power that you can not comprehend, must less defeat. Here is a small taste of that power!'

He hits for a max ~2,200 and casts "Timelock" on random targets:

    Timelock: Single Target, Magic (-550)
    1: Stun (10.00 sec)

In addition, a knockback periodically goes off inside the room:

You are hit by an unseen force. The power sends a chill down your spine. It also sends you flying across the room.

Scumlord Heyanti has been slain by _____!
Scumlord Heyanti's body dissolves, leaving nothing behind but a foul stench.
Your faction standing with Plaguebringer Parishioners got worse.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald got better.

Speak with Apothecary Cadmael 0/1 (Temple of Bertoxxulous)

    You say, 'Hail, Apothecary Cadmael'

You have done well, and the people of Oceangreen are grateful to you for your help.

Your faction standing with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald could not possibly get any better.

When you zone in, clear the rooms with the named in them before you click the south door for the update. After rooms are clear, click the door and names will spawn in the cleared rooms with no adds.

I don't know if this is normal or not, but the trash that stands with Machinator Grengwar were also tethered. I was able to pull them far enough that one would stay and the others would reset, but each time the mob die it instantly respawned. It was easy enough to charge Grengwar and mez the adds.

Nothing special about Prime Lector Quillok. He is indifferent to start with, and you can easily invis past the other mobs right up to him. Engaging him where he stands, I was able to kill him without any adds.

Same AE from the previous mission goes off in tsetsian room in this mission. It makes it a nuisance, as I had to fight my way through. The mobs are easy, just a waste of time.

Final boss, Scumlord Heyanti, has significantly more hitpoints than the trash in the zone, but hits only marginally harder. Easy mission overall. Straight-forward. Like I said, clearing the tsetsian room is the most annoying part, but can easily be done with the minimal number, even at level 75.
