    This group task is the first in a series of three and begins with Telivar S`vik in Korafax. To spawn him, go to the room marked on this map and say "Telivar" (you must have completed the "Find Telivar" task in order to do this - see this page for progression information).

    This task follows Telivar's solo tasks, "You Pay the Price" and "Assist the Riftseekers" (you must have completed both of these in order to request this group task).

    You say, 'Hail, Telivar S`vik'

    Telivar S`vik looks around suspiciously. 'So, you learned of me. Must have been that worthless human I saved. I should have known better. Should have left him to suffer. Now, I should just kill you. If [these creatures] torture you, you'll start screaming right away. I can't [trust] you, even if you claim to be here to help. If there were [more] of you, then I might have more faith. The beasts here come closer to finding me every day. With your help I probably won't be able to [evade] them very long.

    You say, 'There are more of me'

    Telivar S`vik says 'Well, if you have help, then I might have something you can do to help out. I keep my eyes and ears open, and I know where the danger lies. I can slip you past some of the trouble and send you on your way if you're [ready].'

    You have been assigned the task 'Kill the Shearspawn'.

    The Mindshear is a horrifying organism that controls and lives in the fortress of Discord. Its pulsating tentacles penetrate the fortress structure and anchor the bedrock, and its various portrusions excrete poisonous, sanity-warping fluids. Telivar notes the appearance of a small, tentacled creature, which was swiftly joined by more of its kind. He surmises that these horrors are the spawn of some greater fiend that controls the living parts of the fortress. He is content to skulk in the shadows, out of harm's way, but the spawn of the Mindshear cannot be allowed to grow their own living strongholds of torture and insanity.

    Find and destroy the spawn of the Mindshear 0/11 (Korafax, Home of the Riders)

    This is a very straightforward task. Kill 11 shearspawn in the area (they look like insanity mobs from the Plane of Torment). Note after 15 minutes or so, the zone seems to have a chance to pop some named.

    Each of the shearspawns cast the spells "Oily Goop" and "Mind Shock":

    Mind Shock: Directional 70', Magic (-600)
    1: Decrease Hitpoints by 5000
    2: Stun(6.00 sec)

    Oily Goop: Single Target, Unresistable (-1000)
    1: Blindness(1)
    2: Decrease AC by 300

    The mature shearspawn casts the above spells as well as two others:

    Discordant Inevitability: PB AE 100', Magic (-1000)
    1: Decrease Endurance by 500 per tick
    2: Decrease Mana by 500 per tick
    3: Inhibit Melee Attacks by 70%
    4: Casting Level(-15)
    5: Decrease Movement by 30%
    6: Increase Poison Counter by 12

    Touch of the Shearspawn: Directional 40', Magic (-1000)
    1: Decrease Hitpoints by 7500

    Upon killing the 11th shearspawn:

    Your task 'Kill the Shearspawn' has been updated.

    With the spawn of the Mindshear eliminated, its horrible experimentation is now limited to this fortress alone.

    Your faction standing with Herald of Druzzil Ro got better.
    You have successfully been granted your reward for: Assist the Riftseekers

    Well SOE has it's thinking cap off again. If I read this right the only Ranger usable equipment (non weapon) goes in the range slot. GOOD THINKING!

    I was able to request this task without doing the assist the riftseekers task. I did need to do the you pay the price task first.

    please add this mob to the mob list for possible named....drops a warrior/monk/rogue shield and a range item for hybrids.

    Is there any way to repeat this task without beating the full series? I said more to him and he offered me second in the series only?

    Yes, don't win...

    if you drop mission without winning you can repeat but if you win. you will need to beat all 4 group missions before you can pick and choose which mission you want to do
