This is a mini-raid (up to 12 people) which begins with Telivar S`vik in Korafax. To spawn him, go to the room marked on this map and say "Telivar" (you must have completed the "Find Telivar" task in order to do this - see this page for progression information).

Additionally, you must have completed all previous Korafax tasks (both the solo tasks and the three group missions) in order to request this mini-raid. There are no pre-requisites for participating in the raid (other than the Korafax group progression flag).

    You say, 'Hail, Telivar S`vik'

Telivar S`vik looks around suspiciously. 'So, you learned of me. Must have been that worthless human I saved. I should have known better. Should have left him to suffer. Now, I should just kill you. If [these creatures] torture you, you'll start screaming right away. I can't [trust] you, even if you claim to be here to help. If there were [more] of you, then I might have more faith. The beasts here come closer to finding me every day. With your help I probably won't be able to [evade] them very long.

You say, 'There are more of us'

Telivar S`vik says 'Well, if you have help, then I might have something you can do to help out. I keep my eyes and ears open, and I know where the danger lies. I can slip you past some of the trouble and send you on your way if you're [ready].'

You have been assigned the task 'Stardouser'.

Telivar has heard that one of the more powerful discordians is expected to visit the citadel soon. There is much concern among the locals because he is known for his hunger and his ability to satisfy it. They seem to think that he can devour energy, whole suns they say. They talk about his ability to use the gates to access several worlds at once and drain some of their magical power. Even dead worlds can yield some power to the Stardouser. Telivar thinks that this power is probably over-rated, but he also thinks that you and your allies should go out and kill the thing anyway, just in case. He suggests that you speak with the Riftseekers before engaging Stardouser, they may have information that will help you.

Kill Stardouser 0/1 (Korafax, Home of the Riders)

    You say, 'Ready!'

    Telivar S`vik says 'Good luck.'

    LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Korafax, Home of the Riders.

From the zone-in point, head south and out of the building, then west around the perimeter. Stardouser can be found near the Tower of Discord.

You'll have to go around to all of the portals and set them in a pattern so that they`re all off. There are eight of them. See this map for their locations. Either riftseeker posted in front of them can switch them off or on:

You say, 'Hail, a gelidran rift slave'

a gelidran rift slave says 'We cannot speak. We must concentrate on maintaining the portals or the master's feasting might be [interrupted].'

    You say, 'Interrupted?'

a gelidran rift slave says 'If we break the connection others may open, others may close. It all depends on the master, Stardouser. He has set a [pattern] in the portals and linked them to each other in a way that we do not understand. I can switch this portal on or off if you truly wish me to. Others may turn on or off when I do so. Each open portal gives power to the master and he will be angry if too few are open, as that will weaken him. Perhaps you can deduce the pattern and turn enough of them off to allow you to defeat Stardouser, though even without the power of the portals his strength is terrifying. Be aware that disturbing his feeding will surely draw the attention of Stardouser's personal guard. If we stop or start the power drain someone will surely come to investigate. Do you wish me to [switch] this portal?'

    You say, 'Pattern?'

a gelidran rift slave says 'I can tell you what little I know of the pattern. There are required numbers to these patterns, this I know from a long lifetime of opening such rifts. Each of these portals is either on or off, you should be able to tell by watching every particle near you. One of the portals will switch itself and three others. Two will switch themselves and two others. Four will switch themselves and only one other. And one will only switch itself. But I cannot tell you how they are linked. You could discover their connections by switching them and discovering the pattern, but that is risky, for someone will notice the changes and will come to investigate.'

    You say, 'Switch it'

a gelidran rift slave says 'It is done.'

This must be done while sneaking, otherwise they will not respond. In addition, it is typically best for a class with invis or fade/FD abilities, as there are a number of wandering mobs. Any portals left "on" will spawn discord mobs which flock to Stardouser's aid.

You can tell a portal is in the ON position by the particle effects. If you see them, it`s on. If you don`t, it`s off (whoever is in charge of portal setting needs particle effects turned on).

The mob population here is much lighter than the static version of the zone. There are several safe points for the rest of your raid party to wait at while the portals are set.

Any mobs that spawn from the portals (you`ll know them as they are "a _____ hunter") must be killed before engaging Stardouser. These mobs build up, so get the portals set as quick as possible.

Stardouser shouts 'So, pests have come to plague me. No matter, more food for my growing hunger!'

Stardouser hits for a max ~10,000; AE rampages; and enrages. He does not flurry. He casts these spells quite frequently and has a relatively low amount of hitpoints:

Mindvoid: PB AE 700', Unresistable (0)
    1: Stun(3.00 sec)
    2: Blindness(1)

Swell of the Deep Void: Targeted AE 150', Magic (-550)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 2000 per tick
    2: Decrease Movement by 50%
    3: Decrease ATK by 300
4: Decrease Mana by 700 per tick
    5: Infravision
    6: Stun(1.00 sec)

He is permanently rooted, so must be fought where he stands.

Stardouser has been slain by _____!
Stardouser's corpse crashes to the ground.

Your faction standing with Discordant Armies got worse.
Your faction standing with Dragorn Forces got better.
Your faction standing with Herald of Druzzil Ro got better.

Telivar was impressed with your efforts. He suggested that you find more of your powerful friends and head into the tower. Perhaps you can deliver a powerful blow to the Discordians and perhaps change their minds about destroying Norrath.

Your faction standing with Herald of Druzzil Ro got better.
You have successfully been granted your reward for: Stardouser

I started this with a 4 box + 2 merc. 95 Enchanter, 88 Cleric, 87 SK, 87 rogue, all access.. Mostly paragon through HoT group Tier 2 geared except for the enchanter who was group T4 VoA geared.

Mercs got suspended on zone in. Invis'd up and went South to the 'outside' where Stardouser was. Didn't see any see-invis.

Killed a few trash mobs around him and then had him on the aggro list when I got too close looking for more trash mobs.so I just went for it. ran enchanter close and cast his debuff button. Ran SK in to engage and HT. Began healing button(PR, Light, Elixir) on cleric for SK. Began running rogue in but everyon was blind at that point so tried to poistion via map. Aftrer HT Stardouser was down to less than 60% health. Nuked a few with the enchanter, after that he was dead. Happened all fairly quickly. Didn't touch the portals, I saw no adds the entire fight.

6 'Players' are not required. This task can be requested with 3 players and 3 mercenaries. You do not have to be in a raid formation.

Also to echo a previous comment, there's no need to mess with the portals if you're of high level 100+, you can just invis up to Stardouser (in the north west ish of the map) and kill him. Level 100 SK Harmtouch did him in one hit...

It's not necessary to mess with the portals -- all that does is slow down the trash mob spawning. Just walk up while invis and kill Stardouser.

I suggest marking him on the map first, so if he blinds you and you get out of position, you can use the map to reorient yourself.

Copy and paste into map file discord_2.txt or discord_3.txt

After you've killed the 4 mobs in the room where Telivar spawns, stand in the middle of that room (not at his spawn point), clear your target, and /say Telivar

    Mob corpses don't matter.

it's much easier. Just attacked Stardouser, didn't bother with portals. Can request mission with 3 people. No mercs allowed. All 3 toons were 95 with group (HoT) armor.
How exactly does this portal deactivation thing work?

Since they have Nerfed the Harrmonious Arrow for rangers I am trying to figure out how to get the least amount of Hunters to spawn from turning off the portals.

    I get the pattern is:
One portal will switch itself and three others. Two portals will switch themselves and two others. Four will switch themselves and one other. And one portal will switch only itself.

So I am guessing I need sneak able mobs at all 8 portals to watch them to see if they have particals or not. What I am wondering is there a better portal to start with than the others? Has anyone noticed if the potrals "pattern" is the same everytime or random. I am guessing it is best to find the 4 that shut off only one other since that will close all 8 portals, maybe?

Evertime I turn a portal off i will get 1 hunter to pop from said portal. Will I also get one to pop if I need to turn that portal back on? Can I kill these hunter mobs as they pop without it agrolinking to other mobs/named in the zone?

Thanks for any insight. Quest on!

Grp (85 war sham box) (85 nec sham bard box) 85 mage,sk,monk. Followed instructions posted previously. monk ran around turning portals off and finally got it down to one. ended up with rediculous amount of portal mobs around stardouser. cleared them and took out stardouser very easily. shammies had no problems keeping tank alive. avg hit on warrior was 3.2k. My advise is to clear the portal mobs as they spawn. That will save you ALOT of time if you do not have ranger in group to single. Only pulling tool that would work was bards mez/fade. they cannot be snared or pacied.

BTW all toons T5 sod grp geared.

We found out the hard way we had progressed too fast with our group missions to finish our t5 sets without doing this. Rather annoying having a miniraid tossed into what had been groupable so far, but we decided to give it a go without a healer.

Group had two 85th sks, an 85th monk, 85th rogue, and 85th mage. Average hit was 4852. Fight lasted 70 seconds and tank got down to 4%. As a blind monk I didn't last long when he turned and was the only casualty. Rogue was using monk's bane and solusek's burn. Group had decent aa and mostly t4/t5 pieces.

We just defeated this event with 2 magicians 1 wizard 1 enchanter and 1 shaman, killed Stardouser without turning off any portals and no adds spawned, all within 30 seconds!
    all portals off helped
    # Jun 02 2009 at 10:09 AM Rating: Decent
We were able to turn off all the portals. It took about an hour of experimentation to get them all off. 6 of the portals are in groups of 2. So 1 person can easily watch 2 portals if they have particle effects turned on. We spread out and made notes about which ones triggered the other ones.

Each time you say "switch" to turn off a portal it will spawn 1 single hunter immediately right at that portal. The hunters then wander to stardouser. We had about 10-11 hunters up once we got all portals off. Then we pulled them 1-by-1 to clear them out of the way. With all the portals off he seemed to max hit for 8-9k, so it seemed to help a little bit. We only had 6 people in our party and we needed all the help we could get:)

Also, you can fellowship into this instance. This helped us a lot b/c we wiped a couple of times. The trick for us was to wait for all discs to reset and burn like hell.

Just completed Stardouser on Sunday May 17th, 2009. This is a 12-man raid, you can have up to 12 people (no mercs) join your raid force.

    Strategy:

1)First clear to Telivar Room and get the task Stardouser from Telivar. When you zone in, you will spawn in the hallway right before the Red Room. (Mapfiend Maps) Take your raidforce up to the top and place them by the Tower of Discord Entrance.

*NOTE* Stardouser does NOT see invis, so get your raid force up near the stairs. Clear any trash in the area. We had a ranger who used Harmony Arrow, and it worked to perfection. Stardouser does not aggro, as he is perma rooted, so pull the mobs back to the stairs and kill them there.

2)Once the area is clear have one person stand right behind Stardouser. (He is out front of the tower of Korafax, near where Grg'nok roams in the real version of Korafax) Make sure this person has spell effects turned on, and in the options they have Opacity turned to at least 41% This took us a while to figure out how to get the effects just right, but once you do you see little beams of power going to Stardouser, one for each portal.

*Note* We figured out that the beams represent which portals are still open.

3)Next have a class who can sneak or FD go around to the portals and turn off one at at time. The person behind Stardouser should pay attention to how many beams there are when a certain portal is turned off and correlate with the portal deactivator.

*Note #1* As soon as a portal is deactivated, mobs will begin to "come investigate" They are called "hunters" (Kyv, Ukun, Ikaav, etc) DO NOT aggro these mobs, they will eventually wander to Stardouser. Once again a ranger worked great for us. He used Harmonious Arrow for the hunter that was right next to Stardouser and puller it solo.

*Note #2* The pattern is as followed: One portal will switch itself and three others. Two portals will switch themselves and two others. Four will switch themselves and one other. And one portal will switch only itself.

4)Rinse and repeat deactivating the portals until you have at least 6 of 8 portals turned off. At this point only 2 beams should be headed towards Stardouser, or less if you get farther than 6. We figured that we could take him with 6 portals turned off. It was a complete guess, but it worked for us. Make sure all "hunter" mobs are killed before Engaging Stardouser.

5)Fighting Stardouser: With 6 of 8 portals turned off, we planned our strategy. First we sent in our warrior with Defensive disc turned on. This bought us enough time to burn him. Stardouser is Perma-Rooted so you must engage him where he is. We were basically blind the entire fight. He hit for between 8-10k, and kept us blind and stunned basically throughout the entire fight. This should be an all out burn. Stardouser only lasted for about 1 minute, and he was toast when we fought him. If you have an enchanter who can cast Twincast Aura, that will help tremendously. If the fight takes longer than 3 minutes, then you are probably in trouble. He should be dead in no longer than 2 minutes tops.

We went in and did this task with virtually no idea what to expect except what we read on Allakazam, and we won fairly easy. If your raid is pretty well geared with new groupable armor, or SoF Raid geared, you should be fine. I hope this helps you all. Good luck and happy hunting.

You do not need Void F access to request this task. I am Void E flagged and have done all of the Korafax Progression but NOT the 2 Bloodfields tasks.

I was trying to redo Meeting Adjourned but was not offered any of the group tasks from Telivar since I beat them. I was only offered Stardouser. I guess they are not repeatable?
