Frostfell 2008 (#1, mid level): Gifts Ungiven  

I got one off of a dirtdigger spinebuster at loc -457,-438,111 on the eastside wall of the main area (in the center of zone). It took over an hour for it to drop, so I'm guessing I either have bad luck or it's a fairly rare drop.

The coal golem is in the southeast section of the zone, in the maze. Take the bridge to the east from the main building and follow it until it dead ends. Then take a right and follow that corridor until it dead ends. Then take a left, then another left down a steep ramp. The coal golem will be at the bottom to the left. Be forewarned that some of the mobs in this section of the zone will see invis.

I wouldn't recommend this quest unless you're really determined, and you will need a fairly solid group to do it. The coal golem is red at 70, is tethered to his spawn point, spawns multiple adds, and turns into a goblin named Coaleye who nukes fairly hard. They all summon. Because of the occasional see invis mob, you have to fight your way to the golem.

It can all be done, but don't try this quest if you're just looking for an easy bit of holiday fun. If you just want the holiday rewards, shroud down to 55 and do the lower level quest.
