|This is the first of two events in the raid expedition "Rathe Council Chambers: Eriak's Downfall". |
Beat the Zek brothers down (range/caster attacks on Tallon; melee on Vallon), killing off waves of adds as they spawn from all around the room. Get each Zek brother to 10% AND kill any remaining adds for the win.
NOTE: It may be necessary to balance the Zek Brothers' health. Not doing so may cause excess adds to spawn (confirmation needed).
Triggering the Event
You'll encounter Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek who want to prevent you from disrupting Eriak Zek's operations deeper within the chambers. As you clear away the rathe golem constructs you'll see this exchange:
Eriak Zek shouts, 'Brothers! Guard our flank while I open our path to the Thaumatox!'
Tallon Zek shouts, 'The Council is empowering that barrier with their entire essence, brother.'
Vallon Zek shouts, 'Don't you think we should work together to open it, brother?'
Eriak Zek shouts, 'Don't be foolish, brothers. No door can hold against the skill of Eriak Zek. With the help of our ally I'm certain to prevail.'
In the archivist room you'll find Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek. They are non-aggro until provoked, so you can set up inside room.
You say, 'Hail, Vallon Zek'
Vallon Zek says 'A mortal? How original. I suppose you think you can [challenge] the Sons of Zek on the precipice of victory as well!'
You say, 'We challenge you!'
The Zek brothers attack.
Tallon Zek shouts, 'Brother, there are mortals here, and they intend to challenge us. You must be swift.'
Vallon Zek says 'We will have to be brief. There is business to attend to.'
Eriak Zek shouts, 'Dispatch them then, brothers. Surely your skills at battle can not be matched by mortals!'
Vallon Zek shouts, 'With your help we can do so quickly, brother. Leave your door a moment!'
Eriak Zek shouts, 'And lose the progress I have made already? Just keep them away from me for a few moments more.'
Tallon Zek shouts, 'Very well, brother. We will seal them here while you open the portal.'
Tallon Zek hits for a max ~11,000; AE rampages; single-target rampages; flurries; and casts a variety of spells:

Barb of Tallon: Directional 100', Unresistable (-500)

Barb of Tallon: Targeted AE 60', Disease (-500)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 7500 per tick
2: Decrease AC by 240
3: Decrease Agro Multiplier by 160%
4: Increase Disease Counter by 16
Barb of Tallon: Single Target, Poison (-500)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 16500 to 16500 (random)
Barb of Tallon: Targeted AE 60', Cold (-500)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 13750 to 13750 (random)
3: Decrease Attack Speed by 40%
4: Decrease Movement by 45%
Strategic Blow: Single Target, Cold (-500)
2: Decrease HP when cast by 8000
3: Decrease Hitpoints by 1500 per tick
4: Stun(0.50 sec)
Tallon's Balance: PB AE 300', Unresistable (-450)
1: Decrease All Resists by 525
Because his AE attacks are mostly targetted short range, it's best to keep everyone but the tank away from him.
In addition to all of the above spells, he also casts an emote based AE called "Incendiary Blast", targetting a random part of the room. Those who are in the area he's going to target will see this emote:
Tallon Zek appears to be taking aim at this area.
Within a few seconds, an AE for 23k hits the area:
Tallon launches an explosive towards a large group of his antagonists.

Vallon Zek hits for a max ~11,000; AE rampages; single-target rampages; and flurries. He buffs himself with "Vallon's Immunity" and casts the following spells throughout the event:

3: Feign Death
4: Stun(4.00 sec)
Vallon's Precision: PB AE 125', Unresistable (-500)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 1600 per tick
2: Decrease AC by 138
3: Increase Agro Multiplier by 50%
6: Increase Curse Counter by 36
Vallon's Subversion: Single Target, Unresistable (0)
4: Decrease Agro Multiplier by 100%
5: Increase Curse Counter by 42
Vallon's Immunity: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Mitigate Spell Damage by 90%, 0 total
Aggro control is of utmost importance with Vallon Zek.
In addition to the spells, he will occasionally spawn duplicates of himself. These spawn three at a time and are only up for a brief period of time.
Throughout the entire event, add waves spawn from all around the room (they spawn at the doors and along the walls). These adds have various spell weaknesses:
a Rallosian archer - stuns
a Rallosian flamespeaker - cold
a Rallosian lifetaker - none?
a Rallosian marauder - stuns
a Rallosian priest - cold
a Rallosian provost - fire
a Rallosian salvebringer - stuns
a Rallosian skirmisher - cold
a Rallosian warbrute - fire
a Rallosian warmaster - none?
Most adds are mezzable. Giants are not.
Giants cast a directional DD + stun spell and AE rampage. They should be taken out first. Goblins and orcs are your next priority (some have AE snares with small DoTs), followed by ogres. The Rallosian priests sometimes DA themselves.
As the two brothers reach 10%:
Tallon Zek shouts, 'Brother! These mortals are not as weak as they look, but we can still crush them with your aid!'
Vallon Zek shouts, 'Yes, leave the door for now and help us dispatch them!'
Eriak Zek shouts, 'You're his favorites, brothers! Would you tell our father that you failed in battle? Stand and fight on your own!'
Vallon Zek shouts, 'Our cause is lost, brother. You'll have to deal with these creatures on your own.'
Tallon Zek shouts, 'We will be certain to give you the same aid you gave us... brother.'
Xadrith the Voice shouts, 'They enter the chamber! Have you not defeated the wards yet?'
Eriak Zek shouts, 'Do not let them distract me! This is intricate work, but I feel close to victory. Surely your minions can handle this.'
Xadrith the Voice shouts, 'Very well. I will defend your efforts, but if you fail to obtain the Thaumatox, our plans will be ruined.'
(This spawns the "Eriak's Downfall" event in the next room.)
