|This is a special one week only raid which was first introduced from June 16, 2008 to June 22, 2008. You must have at least six and no more than 54 people in your raid. |
This expedition begins with Whizzlebang Twempt in the Steamfont Mountains (located between the Dragonscale and Loping Plains zones.
You say, 'Hail, Whizzlebang Twempt'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Well well! You look foolish...er...strong and powerful! What would you say to a business [proposition]?'
You say, 'What proposition?'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Well, it's simple enough, ______. Being the observant Barbarian I know you are, I'm sure you've noticed the large floating contraption in this area! That monstrosity must be dealt with and the Ak'Anon Strike Force is on the [job]!'
You say, 'What job?'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'It is clear to us in the ASF that we must fight clockwork with clockwork. That's why we are proud to have constructed our I.R.A. to deal with the upstart Meldrath. Once we have worked out the, er, [kinks], we'll be able to swiftly deal with this situation!'
You say, 'What kinks?'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Well, with any ambitious project there are bound to be problems to overcome! Surely you know that! Actually, Fendaann, that's why I'm so glad you stopped by! You see, we need some help with a few easy [tests]. If you are [interested], I assure you that you and any friends you bring along will be richly rewarded!'
You say, 'What tests?'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'It's quite simple. The I.R.A. is our Infinitely Regenerative Automaton. Designed and constructed to be an unstoppable destructive force, I.R.A. will recover from any defeat and return stronger and stronger! All we need now is a few practice runs. Are you [interested]?'
You say, 'We are interested.'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Fantastic! Now I'm happy to report that we have enough preliminary data from I.R.A. that we can now allow our victims...er...test subjects a bit of freedom in choosing which test they would like to participate in. Would you rather attempt the [Marathon] test or the [Sprint] test?'
You say, 'Sprint.'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Good luck ______! Let's see how much progress you can make in one hour! Please let me know when you are [prepared] to start the test!'
You say, 'Marathon.'
Whizzlebang Twempt says 'Good luck ______! Let's see how long you can last! Please let me know when you are [ready] to begin!'
Rewards scale based on how other guilds/raids do on your server. The raid that makes it to the furthest wave receives the best reward.
Thanks, adventurers. After the last round of marathon testing, The Ak'Anon Strike Force has fine-tuned the Infinitively Regenerative Automaton. Are you up for the challenge of I.R.A. 2.0?
Rules: When players activate the raid scenario, I.R.A. will spawn along with some smaller clockwork brethren. Every time a raid force diminishes I.R. A. to 5% of its total hit points, it will deactivate. This signals the end of a wave. I.R.A. will reactivate automatically after 60 seconds, initiating a new wave. The way to "win" this raid is for a player raid group to withstand the highest number of waves on a specific server within one hour. Players will be able to complete the scenario if the one hour point is reached while a wave is underway. Players can end the raid at any time after each wave.
Rewards: Individual rewards for this raid event will be calculated based on the best attempt for each player. Every participant in a raid group on each server will receive a clockwork abacus that is used to track their progress. Once the results for all raids have been tabulated across all servers, a scaling item reward* will be given to players based on their relative performance in the raid. If you've lost your abacus, hail Distribution Facilitator XCV in the Plane of Knowledge (just outside the Guild Lobby entrance) for a replacement.
The first round of this raid scenario ends on 1:00PM PT on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, so get ready to have some fun! Check the leader boards table of guilds & players to track your progress and compete with your friends.
